Expected 19 Oct 26
She wants him to stay. He knows he has to leave.

Jade Clark is done with men. She’s determined to spend her time on more important things—like figuring out who is behind the revitalization of her beloved hometown. But when the only man she’s ever loved returns after thirteen years, he’s not alone. He has two wild children in tow, and she finds herself wanting to step in. Once he makes it clear he has no intention of staying, Jade knows that falling back into old habits will only leave her with a broken heart … again. As she gets closer to figuring out the secrets of Strawberry Springs, she realizes the greatest mystery might just be the man who left her behind.

Gabriel Sinclair is at his wit’s end. His twin daughters hate him and have done everything they can to prove it, including setting his apartment on fire. He’s forced to return to his hometown—the last place he should be. He’s way behind on work, and it feels like his life is falling apart. What’s worse, Gabriel’s back to face the feisty, bright-haired woman who told him to never return … and has unearthed the feelings he’s locked away for over a decade. Torn between what he’s built and what his heart wants, he has to decide who he’s living for.

As their spark rekindles, Gabriel and Jade beg for things to be different. Will their second chance have the same ending, or will they break the pattern? While they want the same things, they know more than anyone that life doesn’t always go as you wish.

As You Wish is a small-town, second-chance romance novel with the single dad and found family tropes, set in the town of Strawberry Springs. It’s the fifth in a series of interconnected standalone novels.

Second chance, he never stopped ‘pining’ except for when he has kids (he swore he’d never have) in the meantime 🤡 and when she meets them she wants to ‘step in’🤡 🤡

Okay, major spoilers for this one because I know a lot of people have questions about Gabe being a single dad when he originally said he never wanted kids.

So, here’s the situation: Gabe was a sperm donor for his assistant and friend, Alice. They had agreed that he wouldn’t be involved as a father and that Alice would raise the girls herself. He was still in their lives and would babysit them, but they never knew him as their dad.

Then Alice unexpectedly dies in a car accident around two months before the story begins. Gabe assumes the girls will go to her family, but when he discovers they’ve ended up in foster care, he takes sole custody of them.

The girls are five, and honestly, I had such mixed feelings about this whole situation.

I think part of me just didn’t love the fact that the girls were biologically Gabe’s. I was expecting something different, and I think I would have preferred a storyline where he suddenly had to become guardian to his nieces or something similar. The sperm donor aspect just didn’t quite work for me, especially when it was established that Gabe never intended to be their father.

That being said, I did enjoy seeing Gabe navigate becoming a dad. Watching him figure everything out and grow into that role gave the story some really sweet moments, and I liked seeing the relationship between him and the girls develop. 🥺

I also really liked Jade. Despite being so fiery, she brought a softness to the story and I enjoyed watching her relationship with Gabe develop again, alongside everything else he was dealing with.

My biggest issue was definitely the communication. Jade finds out the truth about the girls around the 30% mark, but unfortunately, it happens while Gabe is extremely drunk. What frustrated me was that they never really had the proper, honest conversation about it afterwards while he was sober. With something this huge, I really wanted to see them sit down and actually talk everything through.

There were quite a few moments where I felt like the characters needed to be more open and honest with each other, and I think the story would have benefited from that. Some of the conflict could probably have been avoided if they had simply communicated better.

I also don’t believe Gabe has been with anyone else since Jade. He says “there weren’t other exes”, now it isn’t explicitly mentioned whether or not he’s had ONS but he hasn’t dated anyone. He does say there was one moment five years ago where he considered being more with Alice but that it wouldn’t be fair to her (Alice) because she would never measure up to Jade and that wouldn’t be fair.

Overall, I didn’t dislike this one. There were definitely parts I enjoyed, and I thought there were some really sweet moments, but I had a few issues with the setup and the communication that stopped this from being a 4 star read for me.

Thank you to the author for the ARC.

ARC REVIEW | ⭐️ 5 | 🌶️ 2

WOW. WHAT. AN. ENDING!

When I say I couldn’t put this down, I mean blurry-eyed, 2am, just-one-more-chapter kind of reading.

After four books of build-up, Gabe and Jade had some BIG expectations to live up to, and boy, did they deliver. In my opinion, this is how you do second chance romance right. No dual timelines, no dragging out the past. We got the history upfront, leaving us to focus on their here and now, and I loved it!

This book had so many layers. Gabe suddenly becoming a dad to two wild twin girls who turn his world upside down. Watching this man navigate unexpected fatherhood, their grief and anger, all while being completely outnumbered by two tiny agents of chaos. It was equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, and when they called him Dad for the first time that just about did me in. 🥹

Jade, what a women! The way she stepped in and embraced those girls, chaos and all, while helping them see that Gabe was trying his best. Even when she hated him, she never stopped loving him.

The STM grant mystery finally being solved gave us such a raw, beautiful insight into Gabe’s feelings for Jade over the years that scene at the springs between these two was perfection.

Throw in the usual Strawberry Springs shenanigans, animals where they absolutely shouldn’t be, and a whole lot of heart, and you’ve got one incredible finale.

FIVE STARS NO NOTES. The perfect ending to a series that has completely stolen my heart. I’ll be recommending this one to anyone with ears for the foreseeable future.

I received an advance copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited to dive into this one but I’m a little sad we have reached the end of🍓 Strawberry Springs! 🍓

Gabe is back after 13 years and Jade is NOT happy. Jade has been my favorite throughout the entire series and I was a little jaded against Gabe for breaking my girls heart the way he did. I mean, he tells her he doesn’t want kids and shows up in Strawberry Springs after all these years with TWINS?! Nah man, you got some groveling to do…or so I thought.

Poor Gabe needed to spread his wings and learn that big city life isn’t always better. I wish he had come back sooner, but then we wouldn’t have had the twins. Those twins are truly spitfires. I knew that their bad behavior was a trauma response, but once we realize why, it makes my heart hurt for them while simultaneously laughing at the crazy they put him through.

Being the last book of the series, we find the answer to the long asked question — Who is behind the STM Grant? Hugh causes a lot of problems, per usual. And of course, Kerry is the nosiest she’s ever been.

This is a series you have got to read. The residents of this town are such a fun and crazy found family. Elle took such care with the representation in this series with things like Henry’s autism and Pipers anxiety.

I was gifted this arc, and it comes out October 19th. That gives you enough time to catch up with the rest of the books!

I’ve been waiting for Gabriel and Jade since the first book in this series, and honestly… it did NOT disappoint. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do with my life now that their story is over.

Their chemistry was everything. The tension, the longing, the way they found their way back to each other after everything… I was completely invested. And Gabriel being absolutely GONE for Jade?? I ate that up. The way he loved her, wanted her, and never really stopped choosing her was everything I needed from their story.

I also loved how beautifully the author built their relationship. They weren’t just two people who fell in love, they were childhood sweethearts whose connection had always been there, even when life pulled them apart. Watching them find their way back to each other made their romance feel so much more meaningful and emotional.

After waiting for them for so long, I’m so happy with the way their story was told. They had the chemistry, the history, the angst, and the payoff. Gabriel and Jade will definitely be staying on my mind for a LONG time.

Thank you to Elle and Literary Rising for the ARC!!!!

What an absolute honor it has been to be apart of the ARC/Street team. I joined in around book 4 and would never look back. After finishing As We Touch I instantly went and bought the first 3 books in this series and did not regret it. But knowing that this book is the 5th and final in this series was well and truly heart breaking.

If you haven't read the first 4 books of this series, I urge you to go and read those first to get the full experience that this series deserves. You will have questions but don't you worry they will all be answered in the end. This book perfectly concludes the entire series and it was done so incredibly.

There is a lot I could talk about with this book but I want to keep it spoiler free, we get a lot of answers within this book, answers that we would have been pondering about since book one. There was laughter, there was kicking your feet moments and there were also moments where I needed some tissues (not like that you perverts) I was uncontrollably crying to the point where I thought my other half was going to book me in for an exorcist.

I'm extremely thankful that I got to ARC read the entirety of the Strawberry Springs series! This has become one of my favourite series of all time! I'm sad that the series has come to an end but I'm looking forward to what Elle has planned for future books!

I'm so glad that Jade got her happy ending in the end as she deserved it! This is currently THE longest book I've read lol but it was so worth it! It had a LOT of spicy scenes which were all 5/5 which was unexpected but I'm not complaining. It also had it's fair share of funny moments, my favourite conversation came from chapter 62. I'm so glad that I finally know who the STM Grant owner is as that mystery had been bugging me since book one lol. I enjoyed Gabe's daughters antics as well and I'm very glad that they warmed up to Gabe in the end.

All in all if you want a romance book with a single dad, black cat FMC, doberman MMC, second chance, MMC who YEARNS, them being next door neighbors then this is the book for you!

ARC Reader Review

5⭐️ for sure!!

This was definitely one of my favorite books of this series. I love them all but this one was so sweet and beautiful. Gabriel and Jade’s connection was undeniable!! They loved one another and never stopped.

The fact that they had Agnus and Beatrice in the mix and their little personalities had me dying!! I laughed so much at the two of them and the fact that I could imagine cursing everyone out in their tiny little 5 yr old voices made it so much better. LOL it was great!!!

Jade was hilarious!! The way she put everyone in their place, including the girls with so little effort, was soooo good. I loved it. This book made me feel all the emotions. When I can laugh, become sad, angry, shocked, and cry all in the same book, it’s a 5⭐️ for me!

Second chance romances are one of my absolute favorites and I have been WAITING for Jade's story since I met her in book 1. Elle Rivers did not disappoint.

Jade was an absolute chaos queen, fiery sass and a right swing to back it up. Gabe's life is a mess, taking care of twins who absolutely HATE him is too much for him to handle that he ends up returning to Strawberry Springs, where he swore he would never return.

Their history, their chemistry. It all was just so heartwarming. And honestly Jade walked him like a dog and he totally accepted it.

I loved seeing the growth in the girls, the growth in the town and both our main characters. I can't even express how much I loved this book. Everything was amazing and everything was better than I could have imagined.

As every book she writes this is a 5 star book for me. It’s a great ending to the Strawberry Springs series (and I was happy to know my guess about who was behind the grant was right).
It’s finally time for Jade’s love story and I loved each part of it. I’m happy to see everyone got their happy ending and to see them all interact with each other in this final book.
I’ll be waiting for what’s next to come from this author and probably love it as much as I’ve loved all her other books.
I also wish I lived in the US just so I could have the physical copies of all the books in this series because the covers are gorgeous.

Thank you to Elle Rivers and Literary Rising for this ARC!

4.5 stars✨️

I went into this book with nothing but hopes for the perfect ending to this series, and I was not disappointed!
I loved how confident and comfortable Jade was in herself, how Gabriel's reactions truly reflected how much he cares, the kids and their personalities, and how the whole town and cast of characters plays so well together.

I could easily read an infinite amount of books in this series, with the banter and the plot being the perfect mix. With that said I felt that this book was a beautiful way to end this series of. I felt that every question I had was answered, and everyone I wanted to know better, got their time to shine.

If I could please get an address in Strawberry Springs or just become a member of the facebook group I would be extremely happy.

ARC REVIEW

I am so thankful to have received this ARC because I’ve enjoyed the Strawberry Springs series SO MUCH. What makes these books really special is the characters and the small town feel, and this final book in the series is no different. We have all of our favorites, plus we get to finally meet our MMC Gabe and his two little girls. The twins were so sassy and fun! Jade and Gabe finally had their second chance and it was such a rollercoaster! And most importantly, the mystery of the STM grant - just when I thought I had it figured out I was fooled again. I already miss escaping to Strawberry Springs but I’m really excited to see what else Elle has in store for us!!

I wish this never would have ended!! This was the perfect conclusion to the Strawberry Springs series! I love Gabe and Jade. They have so much history filled with pain and longing, and they have to learn how to move past these things to find their happily ever after. The pining is absolutely chef’s kiss! I absolutely adore Agnes and Beatrice too! They are spitfires and wish I could see them in action in real life! I already miss Strawberry Springs, but I know there’s so much more to come from Elle!

This is an ARC Review: I was fortunate enough to have received the ARC’s for this entire series (except the first one) and I have loved every minute. I almost got emotional at the dedication page, realising this was the last one for Strawberry Springs. Once again Elle Rivers pulled me in this story. Loved getting to know Jade more and finally learning all about Gabe. Beautiful ending. Sad that it’s ending. Wish it was a real place to visit. Very excited to see where Elle is going next. Looking forward to discover more of her books.

This was a beautiful conclusion to the series. It introduced some hilarious chaos to the already insane town and had plenty of side character antics. The actual couple was a little on the boring side, as not much really happened to them. The town plot arc kind of took over the story. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially as this is the send off for the series. I still really enjoyed the ride.
Thank you to the publisher and author for an ARC.

What a way to end this series!!! I absolutely loved seeing Jade finally get her happily ever after! Gabriel was the PERFECT man(but let’s be real all the strawberry springs men were) and these 2 truly were it for each other!! The fact that Jade never stopped loving him(and he never moved on) was just the cherry on top in this book. Also the storyline with the kids was done so well and I loved absolutely everything about it(and also loved how much they loved jade!!!!!!).

The final book in the Strawberry Springs Series and wow, what a book.

This one is a beautiful story, a single dad, childhood sweethearts and a second chance at love and not just that but the love everyone has for each other in the town 🥺

Strawberry Springs is genuinely one of my favourite Small Town series and this book really completes it.

Jade is so fierce and strong, I absolutely love her and I'm so glad we finally get to see her story

And Gabe, he's so kind and sweet, trying to do his best for others without really considering what HE wants and seeing the changes to him throughout the book is so lovely, plus Agnes and Beatrice are hilarious.

Thank you Elle for trusting me with an early copy of this book and for writing this series is incredible, each book individually is incredible and if I could, I'd have this series last forever but As You Wish was the perfect way to end such an exceptionally amazing series 😭😭
