I recently read Black Rain, book #1 of this duet, and I loved the ease and fun of these characters. I couldn't wait for Midnight Rain, and let me say, I wasn't disappointed. Jettie did a great job staying true to the characters. This is fun, it's sexy, and let me say...HOT! Blake is one hot man! The entire family dynamic is fantastic! Another 5 star read! Start with Black Rain and then read Midnight Rain. You won't regret it! By the way, they're on Kindle Unlimited. So if you have that, you can read for free!!

Just when I think Jettie couldn't make me feel this way about another book, she takes me on another emotional journey. Midnight Rain picks up right where Black Rain ended. There were so many times I was literally hanging off the edge of my seat. I had no idea how this story of Mikki and Blake would go or end. I loved getting to know more of Blake's past and I got to see more of him and who he was as a person. I loved Mikki but at times I thought she was being selfish. Don't get me wrong, she was doing what she thought was best. There were times I cried, yelled, and laughed. Pea is my ALL TIME favorite book kiddo. Gah that kid cracks me up and will put a huge smile on anyone's face. I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait for more to come! Awesome job Jettie! You rock!

HER is Perfect
Mikki And Blake coming together is stroke of Destiny, to begin the healing process for the entire family. All the threads are woven into a tapestry very skillfully.
A MUST read .

Just when I thought Jettie could not break down my emotions anymore… yet again I was proven completely wrong. When Black Rain ended I literally sat there in shock with my mouth hanging open. I yelled WHY JETTIE did you do this to me?? Be prepared for a story that will tear you down only to build you right back up.

For those who haven’t read Black Rain, please read that before you read this. You have to see what happens at the end. Midnight Rain immediately picks up where BR leaves off. There were so many times in this book I wanted to pick Mikki up and shack her or slap her around a few times while screaming WHAT ARE YOU DOING WOMAN??!!!!

I still am completely and totally in love with BLAKE!! But I also wanted to slap him a few times too. If Blake and Mikki would have actually sat down and discussed things like adults a lot of stress and hard times could have been avoided completely.

Pea is still the BEST book kid ever. This little girl has stolen my heart completely. The things she says and does will literally melt your heart. She made me laugh so many times. Honestly how can anyone not love Pea… she is a PRINCESS LIKE A BOSS!!

Be prepared to CRY and CRY oh and CRY in this book. It’s a very emotional journey for Blake and Mikki. One of my favorite parts was learning about Blake’s past and how he became the man he is today. Of course Mikki had a lot to do with that but also Blake had to realize a few things along the way himself. I really loved this series and I look forward to more from Jettie… she is a BOSS!

Where do I started with one of the best book you can read this year. The story continue for Mikki, Blake and the priceless Pea. Jettie Woodruff has done it again. Get ready for all your emotions to be gutted. You will cry, you will get mad and you will laugh. She pulls all your emotions from your gut. I am not one to cry in books but I did with this one and Black Rain. Jettie makes you feel you know this family and you have went through all their turmoil with them. I don't do spoilers just trust me you will not be disappointed. If you haven't read Black Rain read it too. There are no books like these two. All I can say is Bravo Jettie Woodruff and keep doing what you do best.

If you haven't read Black Rain stop what your doing and go read it before you read this book as this continues where Black Rain ends.

Mikki and Blakes story continues. Their story is an emotional one. I love how Jettie can portray her characters so real and these characters are no different. They frustrated me, had me in tears and also brought laughter to my life. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster.

This is another fantastic read by one of my favourite authors. I love all of Jetties stories that I've read so far. Looking forward to reading more. Loved it.

My only regret after finishing this book is that I didn't take longer to savor it. Before I knew it it was over and that is not something that makes me happy at the end of a great book.

It was amazing watching Mikki, Pea and Blake after the happily ever after and I loved the flashbacks and getting to know Janie.

Now all I want to do is pick Black Rain (Let it Rain #1) up again and do it all over. This demands a re-read and I'll do just that ASAP.

4.5 out of 5 Swoony, Heart Melting, Frustrating, Princess like a Boss Stars!

YAY! Pea is back and cuter than ever. Is it weird that I missed that little nugget something fierce? To say I was an eager freakin beaver to get my hands on this book after the way Black Rain ended, would be the understatement of the year. Thankfully I was able to get my greedy little junkie fingers on this one shortly after I finished Black Rain (phew). Now we get our much needed answers to those nagging questions we were left with, while enjoying the beautiful flourishing of this newfound adorable family. Oh, let's not forget that Jettie is one dirty bird, who will crack you up like no other and have you throwing your knickers to the wind! She sure as hell had me walking on the ledge with this one...my fragile heart was in her hands and I just had to trust that she was going to talk me down in the end. *Palms Sweating* Here goes nothing...

"Makayla?"
"Hmmm?"
"You're a body whisperer."
I laughed. " I am. I'm right too."
"You're right. Everything in my body is talking to you; telling you how much I love you, how unquestionably happy I am that you ran into me, and how much I love being inside of you."

Swoony, swoon, swoon! Blake and Mikki had to navigate through some big life transitions after book one. New home, new job, new life, all the while dealing with the lurking shadows of what their future might hold. *Cue looming dark music* There were so many frustrating unanswered questions...will she, won't she...does he, doesn't he? It sent me straight to utter edgy madness...madness I say! It was like Jettie had the juicy steak dangling just out of reach, and we were the desperate beezies clawing to get to it. (Gimme...gimme!)

"All the anger and frustration about the cards I was dealt kept coming. I didn't want these cards. I didn't even want to play this stupid game."

We once again get to step back in time with some flash backs from the past, but this time we get a glimpse into Blake and Janie's past. Time to see where the story all began. It was a times heart breaking, but endearing to see that nobody's perfect. There is no wrong or right way to deal with the pain that comes from caner...there is no handbook to tell you how deal and how you should act. There are so many heart squeezing moments throughout this book, but there are also such magically beautiful moments in there too. Pea once again stole my heart and kept a cheesy smirk planted on my face.

"Do you have bad dream?"
No. I have happy dreams. Cause I'm happy."
Swoon. That part melted my heart into a pile of goo. The last part shattered it.
"Because I have you, and Mikki, and my grandmas and my grandpa. And everybody loves me."
That's because you're so special."
No, it's because I'm a princess like a boss."

If you read Black Rain, then you can easily figure out what Mikki has to possibly deal with. It doesn't all go to plan, and there are a lot of secrets unearthed while reminiscing in the past. Sometimes asking for more information, just forms more questions and the answers are not always what you may have wanted to hear. Jettie Woodruff knows how to not only talk dirty to me, but also lure me in with great story telling, and unforgettable characters that will be forever engrained in me. This story was truly a gift that just kept on giving. This book will make you laugh, swoon, get you all hot and bothered, cry, and shake your poor defenseless Kindle. I really should have invested in some bubble wrap for my Kindle, because there were definitely some close calls there. My fragile heart made it through the maddening frustrations...I never doubted you would talk me down from the ledge Jettie, and the journey was so worth it. So, to end my rambling. Should you read this duet? Hmmm...let me think...YES!!! Go get your one-click fingers flexin' my book junkies. And as always...Feed the Need!

So you have read Black Rain and where that ends Midnight Rain begins.More truths are told in this story, healing has begun and now they are just striving to become a real family. It is emotional and raw, a book you will not only read but feel.

I love that as these books go one we see growth in the characters. I love that Mikki (Makayla) is shy and demure because she is also a firecracker when she needs to be. I am forever endeared to Pea. She is the awesome little womanchild who reminds me that we should have faith like that and love so unconditionally.

Jettie's books are well written, her characters are as real as they come by, the plot is on point and again watching these characters grow like they have is what has kept me so engrossed in the book.

OMG Jettie is a writer like a boss!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did receive this book as an ARC and am very grateful I got to read it without waiting to long. I loved Black Rain and could not wait to read the rest of Mikki and Blake's story. The story is so wonderfully written and you just love all the charters. There were times when I wanted to throw my kindle at either Mikki or Brake's head for both being stupid. What a great book. And OMG the best charter is Pea. She will steal your heart and make you laugh. If you do not love Pea there is really something wrong with you. And as a bonus there is Drew and Morgan. *sigh*.
You must read theses books as always Jettie never disappoints

If you've read Black Rain, you will love this book. Midnight Rain picks up where Black Rain left off. It is still full of the adorable Pea, who is still a princess, like a boss. Mikki and Blake grow even closer together as they reminisce about Pea's mother and how Blake met and fell in love with her. They deal with Mikki's fears of having the same illness her mother had, and being afraid to go to the doctor to find out. This family has such a strong bond, that nothing can tear them apart. Not the past, nor the future. They are three "peas" in a pod.

WITHOUT A DOUBT THE worst second part novel I read ... it was pretty disturbing how the heroine kept asking details about the intimate relationship her man used to have with her dead sister.

description

I'm not sure where that twisted perversion is all about but Woodruff seems to consider that sharing a man is the ultimate thrill for sisters !!
WAY too depressing and sick for my taste though...
enjoy it if that's what romance is to you I'll regret having read it for sure

What a great conclusion to this family's story. I love how Jettie develops characters so that you want to know so much more about them. She gives you that too. I love how she wove the past with the present so you got to see how much Blake loved Janie but alo Mikki's insecurity over that love. Pea as always stole the story. The things that come out of that kid's mouth never fail to make me laugh out loud. Another great Jettie Woodruff book.

First I liked the book, but seriously they were only three characters that I really liked from the book Blake,Pea and Grace the other characters just annoyed me.

Mikki she was so great in the first book but in this book she was just too much with wanting Blake to tell her about his life with Janie. I guess that she wanted to know about her sister because she didn't know her but I don't think she really needed to know every little detail about Blake and Janie's love life. Sometimes I felt that she wanted to be just like Janie for Blake.

Berry I really didn't like him and what he did to Mikki and her mom was awful and he doesn't deserve a relationship with Mikki. I myself would have never forgave him.

Sarah I really liked her in the first book and I liked her in this book too but there was just one part in the book that I really wanted to slap her.

Janie when Blake was telling his POV about his life with her I new I wasn't going to like her. I felt that Blake was too good for her and that she was pulling him around like a dog for they whole relationship. All the shit she put Blake through I would've gave up on her a long time ago. I felt like everyone in the book made it seem like she could do no wrong but I saw it differently.

Romance: 4.5/5 (Loved them together when Mikki wasn't planning her escape from Blake)
Drama: 2.5/5 (A lot of drama and Mikki with that big secret that she should have told Blake)
Cover: 3/5 (Okay Cover)
Makayla "Mikki": 3.5/5 (I Like her much more in the first book in this book there were thing's I didn't like about her. I always hated when she wanted Blake to talk about Janie but she wouldn't talk about her mother that annoyed me)
Blake: 5/5 (I liked him more in this book and I did feel like I would've rather his thoughts and not Mikki's)
Writings: 4/5 (Good Story)
Humour: 3/5 (Pea is still the funniest character in the book)
Hotness: 4/5 (It was weird to read about Blake and Janie's sex life they were really young. But Blake and Mikki still had some steamy moments)

London Pea Jane Coast.
The most amazing kid ever. I fell in love with her in Black Rain but by the end of Midnight Rain I wanted to kidnap her for my own!
The things she says and does, it's just so damn perfect. She's the perfect mix of childlike innocence and on her way to being a bit of a smartass.
So Black Rain ended with a shocker to us, Mikki's worst fear seemed to have shown up just when things were looking up for the first time in forever.
Blake and Mikki are free to parent Pea, all of the grandparents involved are content and life couldn't be better.
Except that Mikki is hiding something potentially huge. She's keeping her secret from Blake for good reason, I understood why but the fact that she didn't tell anyone and was planning to handle everything on her own by ignoring it an running ticked me off.
She's a smart girl but I guess she was a bit young and hadn't really had many people she could count on so to an extent it's understandable.

Okay beyond that, the story tells more about Janie. Mikki needs to know about her and Blake needs to talk about her. There's flashing back to Blake and Janie's past and then back Mikki & Blake as he tells her stories of their life together.
Mikki and Blake's relationship helps to heal so many relationships, bringing the family closer together and giving Pea the parents she deserves.

Midnight Rain was the perfect ending to their story. I loved every single character and will miss them, especially pea and her naughty/snarky mouth.

My favorite quote from Pea~

Pea to Santa:
"I think she is grouchy because theres a boy in there. But I still love her a hole lot and I want her to get some nerves for Christmas if you can do that."

I was super excited to hear that Jettie was releasing a second book after reading Black rain! I absolutely loved Blake, Mikki and Pea! Pea especially stole my heart and ran away with it!
We left the last book and there was a cliff hanger, Mikki feels a “lump” on her chest. In Midnight Rain, they are suppose to be getting their HEA, although Mikki is terrified that she too will succumb to cancer, like her mother and sister before her. We follow them back to TN were Grace, Blake’s mother lives. Mikki has a lot of adjusting to do with finding out that Barry is her father, Janie being her sister, and Pea being her niece. She wants to know everything about her sister, and thinks eventually she will be “gone” like her.
Mikki made me so mad at times! I wanted to wring her neck, tell her to open up her eyes and to not be so selfish! She means well, but just goes about it in the wrong ways. Blake is also having some issues but only because he is finally opening up and talking about what happened with Janie, he keeps thing bottled inside. Overall I really, really enjoyed this book. Pea is my absolute favorite princess ever! She made me laugh so much. I do love how even though Jetties characters go through difficult and life altering situations they always seem to come out on top with their HEA! Definitely a must read, Jettie book for sure!!!

In Midnight Rain we pick up back up where we left of in Black Rain. Mikki has a huge secret she doesn't want to face or share. Add that to all the media attention and everyone needs to get out of the city. Blake, Mikki, and Pea all go to Tennessee to stay with Blake's mom. Where do they go from here and will Mikki keep everything to herself or finally unleash her burden?

4 Stars

I was so excited for this book because I loved Black Rain so much and Jettie did not disappoint. While I felt there was not a lot of action in this book a lot did happen. I enjoyed hearing more of Blake and Janie's love story. The kind of love they shared was amazing, yet not perfect like most relationships aren't. You see Mikki struggle with facing the future and what to do. Indecision and secrets play a huge part, as well as how well two people can know each other to know what is wrong without even being told. Mikki faces her issues with her father and puts puzzle pieces together where her mom is concerned. And Pea! Who could ever forget Pea. I think she may be my favorite side character ever. She is just so dang adorable. Poor kid is going to be so grossed out when she realizes what taxes really are!

An ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

If you haven't read Black Rain, you must read it before reading Midnight Rain.

Once again, Jettie Woodruff has blown it out of the water! This is only my second Jettie Woodruff novel, but OH MY GOODNESS this girl can write! I am so invested in all the characters in the Let It Rain series. They own their own little section of my heart. And just like with my review for Black Rain, I'm not going to tell you any of the plot in this review because I really think you should just jump right into this series. I will say that Midnight Rain picks up right where Black Rain left off though. Midnight Rain is an emotional story that is full of love, secrets, family, and one adorable little girl. Honestly, nothing but good things to say about this book and series! If you haven't read it yet, I strongly urge you to give it a shot! I can guarantee these characters are ones you will be thinking of for days to come! I can't wait to see what Ms. Woodruff comes out with next! 5+++ stars! Fantastic read!

I swear with each Jettie book I read that it can't get any better but yet again she makes me eat those words. I never thought I could love another kid like I loved Mattie but nope sorry my sweet fish lover Princess Pea has stolen my heart but I do think you'd make great playmates. Lol
Anyways, moving on to the story!!! It's more than a story for me...it's a reminder that life isn't easy and that's what makes it so great. With each storm comes beautiful rainbow and this one is no different. I loved how real it felt and watching them grown together as they healed one another. Not just our two stubborn love birds but the entire family!!!! I'm so grateful that Jettie didn't leave us with that crazy cliffhanger at the end of Black Rain....i worried myself sick with the what ifs and it couldn't have worked out any better even if I didn't see some things coming along the way :) This one is a must read !!!!! Like a boss....thats me !!!

**Contains spoilers for Black Rain**
I devoured Black Rain, and when I found out that this was coming out, I waited with bated breath!
Mikki and Blake are together with Pea, but the media is on top of everything. Having cleared Blake's name, everything should be good, right? What about the lump Mikki found.
Upon further examination, Mikki confirmed her fear - she had a lump in her breast! Knowing she would have the same fate as her mother, she didn't know what to do. She doesn't want to be away from Blake, but how can she put him through that again? He and Pea are just finding their way. If she stays with him, he will have to go through losing the woman in his life again.
She can't do it. She has to leave him. She has to do this on her own.
But what she doesn't count on? How strongly Blake holds on.
I really enjoyed this story. Like Black Rain, not what you might expect from Jettie, but absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this to everyone!!

I am so completely in love with the whole Coast family. I wish their story could go on and on and on.

We rejoin Makayla Carlie still on her journey of self discovery, with both terrifying and unbelievably wonderful discoveries to be made, finding her place to fit in and the family she belongs with. I love how Mikki is so head over heels in love with Blake and Pea too, she is such an amazing little girl, and also getting to know Grace, Sarah and Barry a little better.
Mikki is such a strong character but also scared and a little naive sometimes too. This story is both beautiful and heartbreaking bringing all the emotions together.
I was glued from the very first page until the very last and could read the adventures of London Pea Jane Coast forever.

In this book 2 London "Pea" Coast will steal more of your heart, she is the cutest thing ever!!!!

Book one left us with a bit of a cliff hanger, that will be answered in this book!

Blake has come along way with his relationship with Pea. This books gives you more looks back at his life growing up with flashbacks in to his life with Peas mom and just overall his growing up.

I loved this book just as much as Black Rain. This is by far my favorite series by Jettie up till now. She is one of my go to authors.

This is a must read book.

Midnight Rain was a great, emotional read. Jettie knows how to give you real characters with real problems and lives. I was so happy to get more of Blake, Mikki and Pea. We even got to see more into the past of what made Blake before he met Mikki along with other important characters. I just loved it. Go read Black Rain if you haven't yet because you'll be missing out on a bunch of important info. Pea is such a hoot! When I was feeling emotionally broke by certain things going on, she would bring me back to feeling happy. She gave perfect balance to the story. Go read this because Jettie knows how to write a great story and won't let you down.

Ms. Woodruff has done it again. There is such a depth and realness to the way the characters are written. I have to confess I was so scared to read this book. I fell in love with Pea and Mikki in Black Rain. There were so many points I had to set Midnight Rain down because I was so worried about the characters. If I kept reading how was I going to save them? I bit my nails through most of it but what an incredible ride. If you haven't read anything by Jettie Woodruff you should start with Black Rain and follow it with Midnight Rain. Her writing style will make you a fan for life. *ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review*

I absolutely loved this book! MIDNIGHT RAIN is an outstanding follow-up to BLACK RAIN and continues right where it left off. It was great seeing Mikki and Blake forge a future with Pea and Blake's recounting of his relationship with Janie. Such a sad but beautiful story.

Jettie Woodruff has written another addictive page turner. I for one will find it hard to get this story out of my head...not to mention the hero Blake. What a delectable, irresistible man!

Jettie Woodruff does it again with Midnight Rain! This one picks up right where Black Rain leaves off. I loved learning about Janie and all that she endured. How she shaped Blake's life. Mikki is such a precious soul, much like her mother. She loves Blake and Pea with all that she is. But when something happens thay terrifies her beyond anything, will everything she has come to love be taken away? Find out!
