This was a very factual book for getting to know the author. I would recommend this to child as well as adults. The content is about his life leading to his career. The pictures are mostly of his later years as an adult I would have liked some pictures of his childhood years.
Maurice Sendak a born Newyorker on June 10th 1928. As a child he and his brother looked forward to their father telling them stories. Maurice Sendak was sickly so he stayed home quite a bit as a result he disliked school. So he would sit at the window and draw what he saw as he looked out.In High school he wrote comic strips for his high school. A teacher also asked him to illustrate a Science book which was published. In his earlier years he worked as a window designer for F.A.O Schwarz. He then did illustration jobs for other authors and was encouraged to write his own work. His most popular work is Where The Wild Things Are. This book was written in 14 languages.
