Elizabeth Lowell's classic Rocking M Romances are now available in one volume. Four fiercely independent cowboys must learn to trust if they hope to find love. FIRE AND RAIN Luke MacKenzie was haunted by the Rocking M’s legacy of grinding women into dust. He has vowed never to marry—the bitter legacy of the Rocking M will end with him--until Carla arrives. His best friend's little sister has grown up. Now Luke must choose between Carla and the ranch that is part of his soul. OUTLAW Tennessee Blackthorn is ramrod for the Rocking M, a remote western ranch where Anasazi ruins have recently been discovered. His new job is to protect the ruins and the delectable blond archaeologist who wants nothing to do with him. GRANITE MAN Cash McQueen had learned the hard way not to trust a woman. When he met Mariah MacKenzie, he thought she was like nearly all the women he had known, looking for a man to take care of every little thing for her. Mariah had come to the Rocking M looking for the brother she adored. Instead, she found Cash. Together they look for Mad Jack's lost gold mine and find instead a blazing passion. But will passion be enough to convince a hard-rock miner like Cash to trust her, to return her love? WARRIOR Nevada Blackthorn has spent too many years in too many war zones. He no longer believes in anything except his family. Then he meets Eden. He fights their mutual attraction as savagely as a wolf in a trap. She knows there is no guarantee that her love will be returned, yet still she loves.

I enjoy this author and buying the set was a good deal. However, the editing is awful! While I would recommend each book, you may not want to read them back to back as the stories are so similar they seem repetitive.
WHAT ABOUT UTAH???? We already knew Cash's story. Ms. Lowell (Maxwell) says he's returning from So America, even mentions the woman who screwed him up (ex-wife?) But the book never showed up.
This was a really good series. I liked that it was bundled and I could read one story right after the other. This series features four couples and their journeys to discovering love on the Rocking M. Four rough and rugged men who learn the hard way to appreciate the love of a good woman.
Luke and Carla, Tennessee and Diana, Cash and Mariah and Nevada and Eden. All four of these couples have similarities in their stories. Tough men who never knew how much they needed the love of a good woman. The tough pasts that made them feel that way. They give in to their basic needs to have these women, only to discover they would never be able to let go of them. They were stubborn, super masculine and boy could they love. They had so much passion and tenderness behind their tough exteriors. The woman on the other hand were strong and innocent, willing to give these men ALL of themselves. They were smart and could hold their own against these men, They loved completely and quickly ( very quickly ).
There were unrealistic parts to each story, but this IS a fantasy romance series that the author has created and she took us away for a while and honestly I would not mind visiting the Rocking M myself. I will admit Tennessee was my favorite...:-).
These books are totally, totally cheesy. And I love(d) them! I read them about 20ish years ago and they were my absolute favorite. They feel a little dated now, but the nostalgia factor makes them a fun read for me.
