The new Loving on the Edge romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Nothing Between Us turns on the heat between two men who wonder how much they’re willing to risk in the name of love.

Four years after an accident tore their friendship apart, Hunter and Devon are living separate lives. Hunter is now the all-America hero—a congressman’s son and a pro pitcher in Houston preparing to marry his beauty-queen girlfriend. Devon is in Dallas running a new restaurant.

But when Hunter unexpectedly shows up in Devon’s bar, Devon can’t turn him away. Damn it if the man isn’t still gorgeous. But engaged? Hell no. All he’s doing for Devon is bringing back memories of their college-roommate days, and the night their relationship went too far. Turns out Hunter has never forgotten it either.

Now Devon can’t help but be drawn in all over again by the only guy who’s ever gotten close enough to break his heart. Maybe one more night together would be enough for both of them to finally move on. Or maybe one night will change everything…

“You were my best friend for a reason. I loved you way before we ever touched each other. And I thought that was enough, had accepted that it's all we could ever be. But then when things changed, I got a taste of how much more might be there, and I was a goddamned goner.”

Hunter is going to get married very soon a woman he cares about, but doesn't love. As the date of their nuptials is quickly approaching, Hunter starts to feel trapped. When his fiancée sees his reaction, she suggests he take a trip to a spa in Dallas to relieve the stress. She also suggests that since he still has no best man, that he should look up his college best friend Devon, and see if he can do it. The last person he needed to see was Devon, but when he arrived in Dallas that seemed to be the only thing he wanted to do. Devon is no longer the purple streaked gay boy from his fraternity, he is now doing well as a restaurant owner. Devon never thought he would ever see Hunter again, and never did he think he would be asked to be part of Hunter's wedding. There is so much unresolved tension between them. This inevitably makes them think of all they went through together in college.

This was my first book from this author, and from this novella, it was not bad at all. For it being a short read, I was so happy that I was still able to connect with both of the characters. I really appreciated the fact that we got flashbacks of their frat days so that we could see how their friendship began, and how it turned into so much more. I loved Devon, and how he didn't care what anyone thought of him as he was openly gay. Hunter did make me more frustrated by some of his decisions. But I did understand that he must have been really confused, since he had never felt anything for any man until Devon. I very much loved the growing chemistry between them that made the steam oh, so wonderfully hot.

Overall, I thought it was a really great novella. I am definitely going to be checking out more books from this author. I enjoyed this steamy little read, and I enjoyed the characters. The only thing I can say I didn't like too much, was how quickly Devon and Hunter seemed to make up in the present. I also would have liked a bit more of them in the present to see how it all worked out for them. But, I was happy for their ending. I just didn't want it to end. Definitely a good read and one I would recommend you give a try.

Yours All Along is the first book I have read in the Loving on the Edge series by Roni Loren. Because of that, I feel I missed some of Hunter and Devon's back story, but since most of this book is told in flashback, I feel reasonably sure I have a good grasp of the characters.

Devon, out-and-proud gay man and his best friend Hunter, kind of straight, roomed together in their frat house during their college years. The story starts 4 years later. Hunter is about to marry a woman he does not love and Deven owns and runs a successful restaurant in Dallas. At the coaxing of his fiancée, Hunter visits a luxury spa resort in Dallas to de-stress from the wedding planning tasks. Of course, he decides to look Devon up and visit his restaurant.

Hunter decides he needs a bit of liquid courage to face Devon again, so for the first time in 4 years, he gets drunk. 4 years ago he crashed his car while drunk and spent a considerable amount of time in the hospital and decided to stop drinking once he recovered. At the time, he completely cut Devon off as a friend because he fears his chances as a pro baseball player and son of a congressman will be affected by showing his true feelings for his best friend. When Hunter turns up at his restaurant, Devon is shocked. Hunter can't drive back to the spa in his current condition and Devon insists on driving him. From there we go into flashbacks and their past relationship is revealed.

While I did enjoy this book, and the sex was delightful, I had some problems with just how quickly the boys made it to their HEA. I won't spoil the time line or how the fiancée figured into everything, but it wasn't as satisfying as the boys taking a bit of time to work out their past issues would have been. I'm still recommending this tale of friends to lovers, but take into account that it is book 7.5 of a long series and only a short 131 pages long.

I think I may go back and read a few of the other books in the series. I don't read M/F very often, but I really enjoyed Roni Loren's style of writing and the books in the series all enjoy excellent 4+ star ratings.

This motherfucker cut out in the middle of the SEX, people. I mean like mid-thrust all up in a butt secks virgin. Who the fuck does that bullshit?

Up until that point it was actually really good for a novella. It has some of my favorite themes...GFY/F2L with a dash of the smaller MC being the dominant top (which I LOVE). I was really diggin the chemistry between the MC's. But alas *sigh* it's a novella so there's a lot of questions left unanswered like....what happened with Hunt's Dad, with his career, what was the fallout from Macy....and most importantly HOW DID HUNTER LIKE THE BUTT SECKS???? We waited forever for these two to get together. The steam between them up until this point is scorching and it just cuts off. I mean What.The.Fuck?!?!

Ugh. *growls*

This could have really been a 5 star novel if the author had taken the time to flesh out the plot a bit and resolve the conflicts....and the sex (Seriously, what is your problem?!? I mean right in the middle!!). This is why I'm not a big fan of novellas....if I see the potential I'm always left wanting more.

If you don't need a little orgasm with your penetration, I'd recommend it.

Maybe.

** yes, this review is spoilery; you have been warned **

When I first decided to read this novella, I was quite aware of the blurb: "...preparing to marry his beauty-queen girlfriend". See, I have never been comfortable reading about cheating or another person being hurt for the main characters to be together. Then why did you read it, Ami? What can I say, sometimes curiosity got the best of me, okay? So yes, reading the first chapter, I thought I thought I would've regretted it;

Well, it was good to know that I was wrong about it -- that this came as a nice surprise. Because the extent of this story, probably about 80% of it, actually happened in the past. Four years ago, after a car-accident following the night that changed the status of their friendship, Hunter cut Devon out of his life. Being a congressman's son, whose life had been mapped by his parents, Hunter was forced to succumb to his father's demand. Until few days before his marriage, and his fiancée sent him to Dallas to de-stress, which actually brought Hunter to Devon's door.

This story basically told about that college days -- about their friendship up until that fateful day. Because of that, I was able to leave my discomfort at the door :)

I enjoyed Roni Loren's writing -- this is my first experience of hers -- and for an author who writes mainly M/F romance, I thought she was able to write hot, steamy, and passionate romance between the two young men. The tension between Devon and Hunter was thick and engaging, and the fact that they were friends first made the chemistry believable. Yep, I really liked it.

I would've loved that their reunion to last a bit longer; but then again, they have been separated (not exactly willing) for four years, and Hunter has been two years celibate (apparently his fiancée is a virgin and wants to wait until they are married), so maybe they need to immediately fix that. And Hunter decided to break things off first with his fiancée before he and Devon stumbled into bed. The ending was rather abrupt, though. Maybe because they will appear in the next book in this series?

Oh, by the way, even if this is a novella in Loren's "Loving on the Edge" series, but it can be read as stand-alone.

Hindsight has given me time to drop this review from 2.5 to 2. It's just not good.

This story is super underdeveloped. The relationship between Hunter and Devon built when they were in college. In present day, they're bare reconnected before they're back together. The flashbacks give a good perspective, but it makes the relationship disjointed.

Hunter is deep in the closet. He's a Senator's son and professional baseball player. He's also engaged. To a woman. He's weeks from marrying her, in fact. While she's not painted as completely awful, she's a bit of the worst kind of chick. She "tests" Hunter's loyalty. To the point of...ok. Spoiler. So I won't. But let me just say, it's ridiculous. It's offensive. It doesn't make it ok for him to end things how he does. Seriously. THAT'S how you want to dump your fiance? Nope. Not ok.

I felt for Hunter until that ending. The author did a good job of showing the relationship with his father and the challenges he faced. The flashbacks showed him as a really great, if young, guy. He was on Devon's side. He was figuring himself out. I empathized. I wanted his eventual HEA.

Let's talk about that HEA. It was abrupt. And incomplete. I think it's supposed to be HEA, but it barely qualifies at HFN. If you're going to spend half of the book building up why Hunter is so very deeply in the closet, I'm going to find it difficult to believe he just decides to be done with HIS WHOLE LIFE. Seriously. No. I don't buy it.

Oh, and the other guy was Devon. There's...very little about him. I mean, we know he did awesome things for his sister and was kicked out by his family. His issues are clearly secondary to Hunter's. But sure. He's completely likely to forgive Hunter in 5 mins. That's plausible.

The story just feels rushed at the end. It had potential to be a great book, but it was too short for the amount of emotional build-up.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for review.

4 True to yourself Stars!

What do we get when we have an asshole dad, a closet, a long lost love and a lie? What we get is a poor torn, confused and heart sad Hunter.

Hunter has always lived the life he was supposed to live. It was easier to do this then be true to himself. Only once in his life did he follow his heart but when reality set back in, he went back to what was wanted of him.

Now years later he's living his dream and just about to be married. Or is he? His soon to be wife is a bit off her rocker and is playing mental games with Hunter, which ultimately pushes him back to his past.

He wasn't sure if he should re-open that door but how could he not at least see Devon now that they are in the same city.

Devon has always loved his best friend. Probably more than he ever should have. So, when Hunter disappears from his life, he was angry. But that doesn't mean Hunter was forgotten. The last thing he ever expected was to see Hunter again. So when Hunter's at his work place and drunk he doesn't know what to do with him.

Hunter has been pushed to his limit, and now that he has seen Devon again he knows what he must do. Finally he makes the choice for himself and no one else, consequences to hell with them-if he can finally be truly happy. And Devon is what makes him happy.

I truly love Roni Loren's writing and she did not disappoint with this little story. It had heart and steam. I loved Hunter and Devon together. Yes this is part of a series but definitely can be read as a standalone or a pre-cursor to Call on Me book #8. Because this story was a novella I ended up wanting a bit more from the story and Hunter and Devon. I still loved it but found it to short where I could have gotten totally lost with these two. Just as we are completely hooked the story ends to soon.

I had REALLY been looking forward to Hunter and Dev's story. I had read the ARC for CALL ON ME, and I was so taken with this couple, I sent a Tweet to Roni Loren and asked... BEGGED... for their story to be writte. Being that great minds think alike, she had already written it, and was just waiting for the ARC to be released. As soon as I saw it, I jumped on it and read it in just a few hours.

Hunter's and Dev's story is told mostly in flashback. Hunter is preparing to get married, and his fiance sends him to a spa to unwind prior to the ceremony. While there, Hunter makes contact with his college BFF Devon, and it's clear from the get-go that they have a history. Flash back several years to when they were roommates in college, and the story of how they got together, and then separated, is revealed.

These two guys - GAH. Their relationship was so complicated. Yours All Along is told entirely from Hunter's POV, as it should be. He's the one that goes through this incredible, life-altering epiphany. He's the all-American boy - athlete, son of a well-off family. Being attracted to his male roommate was definitely a surprise to him.

It was actually a surprise to Devon as well. And, as you would expect, Dev proceeded with extreme caution. He was already in love with Hunter - he knew his heart would be the one shattered if Hunter couldn't handle all this. From the opening of the book, you knew that something had happened that had driven these two guys apart, and that it had affected both of them permanently. When that moment comes, it was at first exciting and sweet, and then heartbreaking, especially for Dev.

When the events switched back to present day, I was so completely on board the DevHunter train, I couldn't wait for their HEA. When and how it happened was so perfect. They reached across time and space and jobs and families to find one another again, and when they did, they realized that what they had together was more powerful than any of those things. The moment that happened was perfect.

My only complaint about YOURS ALL ALONG is that I was only left wanting MOAR. I could've read a full-length novel about Hunter and Devon. Thank you, Roni Loren for giving us this story.

Roni Loren, you should definitely write more mm books. I would love to give this 5 stars, but I need way more in that ending to make sure the boys are happy, and how things work out with the ex fiancé and Hunters family and baseball career. I know I can probably get that if I continue the other books, but I'm not a huge fan of mf stories anymore so unlikely to happen. The writing style is fantastic, the characters are wonderful, and if their are anymore mm books from this author in the future I am right their at the front of the line.

Hunter is about four years out of college and a star baseball player for the Houston Astros. His father is a senator, and Hunter has always had to work on being the perfect son to impress him. Growing up, he was always on his best behavior, but in college, he let his true personality shine. He lived in the dorms, joined a fraternity and became best friends with his roommate Devon. Devon is gay and out and proud, finding a place he felt comfortable with in college. One night in college, after a frat prank, Devon and Hunter are forced to share a bed, and they end up pleasuring themselves because…well.. because they had boners and what is a man to do?

From here, Hunter starts to play with the notion he might be attracted to men, especially to Devon and they start to experiment. But after a car accident when Hunter’s father refuses to let Devon in to see Hunter, their friendship ends.

Four years later, Hunter is engaged to a woman that makes his father proud, but Hunter doesn’t really love her. When she sends him away for a spa weekend to Dallas, Hunter hunts down Devon at the restaurant he is running, and feelings from the past come rushing back.

This is a pretty sexy novella that explores Hunter finally cutting the strings to his overbearing father and following his true path in life. A good portion of the book is a flashback to college when Hunter and Devon first start a physical relationship. It’s a pretty quick read, and I definitely would have enjoyed more pages with these two. Especially more pages in present day.

I enjoyed both Hunter and Devon, although we don’t get to know Devon as well as we do Hunter. I like how their exploration plays out while they are in college. I mean – I love a “handy” scene and when two guys are in bed each performing their own hand job right next to each other? Yeah, that’s hot.

I wish we would have gone a little deeper with the exploration of Hunter and him falling for men. The story is just a little too short for me to get the full impact of their relationship. But it was sexy and fun. I would LOVE a full length m/m romance from this author. I enjoy her voice.

Roni Loren does it again. I was sucked right into the story and devoured it in one sitting. Yours All Along is a novella in the Loving on the Edge series. However, that being said, this novella could easily be a standalone.

This book plays out in both the past and the present. We are taken back to the MCs college years so we can understand and watch their relationship develop. Oh how I love when a straight man falls for his gay best friend. This story is told from Hunter's POV. Hunter is the all-American baseball player who in the beginning of the book is sent to a spa to relax before his wedding. His fiance inadvertently sends Hunter to reconnect with Devon. The build up between Hunter and Devon is spectacular and you as the reader can't help but hope for a HEA.

I love M/M books and this is a well written, well structured keeper. It will likely be a reread book for me. My only complaint would be that I want more of Hunter and Devon, but I hear that we get some more in Call On Me :)

No, this was not good.

More than half of the book was a flashback, where we already know what will happen. And I hate it when the girlfrend is a crazy manipulating bitch, who is easily left behind.

I pretty much have this series on 'must grab' by now and this novella was no exception. It was a second chance 'in the nick of time right before the altar' type of affair told in present and flashbacks that had me vested for that reason alone from the get-go.

The placing of the story in the series confused me until I got to the author's note at the end explaining the connection. Thank goodness, she did explain because I was racking my brains trying to figure out with whom these guys were connected to in the earlier books. And, it turns out that this is a prequel to the next story in the series, Call On Me. One of the heroes is the brother to the heroine of the next book. Curiosity satisfied! And because of that, I would say that this one can be read out of order or as a standalone just fine.

The story begins with Hunter on the verge of getting married. He's a champion baseball pitcher. He comes from a wealthy and powerful political family. His fiancee was a former beauty queen and meets with his family's approval. He's got it all going for him and he seems to be living the dream. And yet his life feels empty and he feels trapped as his wedding draws near.

His fiancee likes to test him and play games to make sure he's still toeing the line and her latest test involves sending him to have a reunion of sorts with his former best friend from college and get him to be Hunter's best man. Little does she knows or anyone for that matter, but Devon was so much more than Hunter's best friend.

Devon can't believe who walks into his restaurant one Monday night. Hunter broke his heart and cut him off years ago, he's getting married and living the family-pleasing life he wanted, and yet now he sits there looking as lost as ever. Devon doesn't know what to make of this, but anger and hurt war inside him.

Hunter and Devon share flashbacks to those happy times when they were college roommates and best friends, the awkward and confusing time as Hunter learned that he was bi and the heartbreaking moments of the end of their brief time. And then there's the present with its complications and knowledge that the old spark is still there.

This one was short and moved along quickly. It spends as much time in the past as the present. I enjoyed getting what came before and really felt for both these guys. Their situation wasn't easy.

I thought the handling of their early relationship was done well. Devon has been open and out about being gay all along and he is very experienced and confident sexually. Devon refused to do relationships and Hunter knew that just as Devon knew that Hunter wasn't ready for more than experimenting at this point. Hunter was experienced with girls, but being attracted with a guy made him practically a virgin. He was overwhelmed by the ramifications with family expectation, no independent income, star athlete, etc and they were both fearful of losing their friendship if things went up in smoke.

One point, I want to make is that even though Hunter was engaged at the beginning. There was no cheating in this story. Truthfully, the way that gal toyed with him and played her testing his loyalty and fidelity games made me surprised that he stuck with her as long as he did.

I really hated for the story to finish. In fact, it ended abruptly leaving questions that I hope get answered in the next book.

This was an emotional, sensual Coming of Age and Second Chance all rolled into one. I would recommend it to those who enjoy M/M Contemporary Romance and New Adult.

My thanks to Penguin Group for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh Roni Loren if I hadn’t already known you were one of the best authors ever I would after reading Yours All Along.

Hunter and Devon used to be best friends and roommates. Devon was the only out gay in a fraternity and Hunter wanting to make sure he gets the whole experience of college and people without his fathers overbearing presence he decides to room with Hunter. They become best friends until lines become blurred and then their friendship was over. Now four years later Hunter is supposed to be getting married to a woman, playing pro-baseball and being the perfect son. Except he’s not happy and when his fiancée plans a get away for him right before the wedding where Devon is all the emotions and feelings they had for each other come rushing back and they realize they were each others loves all along.

Oh boy seriously anything Roni Loren writes I fall in love with so I knew Yours All Along would be no exception. Roni writes about real issues in each novel that makes the character and story more relateable. She also writes really hot sexy scenes so if you haven’t read her stuff yet *wink wink” I would get on it ASAP. Before Roni Loren I had no idea I love Man on Man books, but wowza they’re awesome.

Hunter is a Senators son. He moved away from home to go play baseball even though it’s not what he wants. He just wants to get away from his overbearing father. Hunter has never questioned his sexuality or the path he put himself on. That is until a prank gone wrong turns into a very hot session with Devon. Now he’s questioning everything and his relationship with Devon. Hunter goes through a lot in this novel and he tries to figure out who and what’s important in his life.

Devon is openly gay. He’s been crushing on Hunter for a long time, but he doesn’t want to cross the line and risk losing his best friend. He’s not the relationship type but when Hunter crosses the friendship line he’s willing to cross the line with him. When Hunter leaves Devon is devastated and when he shows back up in his life Devon doesn’t want anything to do with him because Hunter broke his heart.

I freaking loved this book. I loved how it goes over a lot of the issues LGBTQA people have when dealing with coming out. While I wish it was simple a lot of them lose their families and friends and so many more issues. Hunter goes through losing his family and al the money he could ever have to get through school. Later he realizes he’s living a life he doesn’t want. I love the real issues this story deals with because it makes the book all that more enjoyable and real.

Yours All Along is a fantastic story and I loved it. I loved how the story was in flashbacks and the alternating perspectives between Hunter and Devon. I wish there story could have been more in depth with what happens after they hook up and a slower build-up into their getting it on moment. Despite that I love this book and would recommend this story to any and all. Seriously it's fabulous.

“Hunter hadn’t lied when Devon had asked if he looked at guys in a sexual way. He didn’t. He was just starting to look at Devon that way. And it was completely fucking with his head.” ,/I?

Yours All Along is a novella in the Loving On The Edge series but i read it as a standalone and had no problem keeping up with this angsty and sexy male / male book! While starting out in the present day most of the book is spent in their college years where Hunter and Devon struggle to ride the fine line between being roommates and giving into their attraction to each other despite the fact that Hunter is straight and Devon is gay and out of the closet.

“I know how casual sex works. I’ve had my share.” “With women. Don’t pretend this is the same thing. Things might seem exciting now – all that unknown. But how are you going to feel the morning after when you wake up and it sinks in that you’ve slept with a dude? That the taste lingering in your mouth is my dick? That your ass is sore because I’ve had my fingers or more inside you?”

When we start Hunter is engaged to be married and his fiancé, who he is starting to feel disconnected to, sends him off to Texas to relax and to ask his former BFF Devon to be his best man. Completely unaware of the feelings and history these to shared this trip sets up us flashing back to their past and then spend the majority of the book watching these two best friends become more and try to figure out how all that could possible fit into their lives. Devon is going to be a baseball superstar and the son of a senator a lot if on his shoulders but still he is the most tolerant person around and even offers to room with the new guy in the frat who happens to be gay.

“Here Devon was free . . . and fucking magnetic.”

The beauty in Devon and Hunter’s relationship is that it was built on an open friendship that sparked a chemistry that was impossible to deny. I am a big fan of m/m romance an d my favorite ones are where at least of the men is straight and not really attracted to other men but then there is this one guy who brings out desires they never knew they had. This book follow that format beautifully and I enjoyed it immensely. Being a novella format basically means we get the condensed version of their story and I loved these two so much I would have enjoyed more from them. Dynamic chemistry and a story filled with angst, drama and years passing was a formula for success and while I had not heard of this author before now I look forward to reading more of her books soon.

This novella is part of a series I haven't read yet I had to problem jumping right into it and enjoying it from start to finish. I am late to the Roni Loren fan club but between this book and the first book I read by her about 6 weeks ago I am now a huge fan. This author has the ability to suck the reader straight into her world and makes it so you don't want to leave. My one complaint about this story is even though it was complete I didn't want it to end and to be honest I kind of wanted to see the fallout after their relationship was announced and can only hope we get to witness that in Call On Me which is out next month (keeping my fingers crossed). That all being said, I loved every minute of this story; the hesitancy, the surrender, the acceptance, and the absolute love these two men had for each other even years later.

College roommates and fraternity brothers Hunter and Devon haven't seen each other in four years not since the night that changed their lives drastically. As Hunter's wedding draws closer and his anxiety level grows his fiancée sends him to a spa in Dallas to relax and unwind but finding out Devon is in the same town throws Hunter for a loop and he feels the need to reach out to him and set things right between them.

Told mostly in flashback through their college years this book shows the friendship and growing feelings between Hunter, the son of a very conservative senator, and Devon, an openly gay man who was thrown out of his family for his sexuality. I was completely caught up with how these two seemingly very different young men connected as friends and how they both tried to deny the attraction they felt for one another until it became impossible. Both young men were forced to make choices they didn't want to make but had to in order to achieve their goals but watching them reconnect was quite magical.

Though novella sized this story packed a punch with the characters well developed and a solid plot. It was easy to love both these characters, feel their college heartbreak and be happy for them as they move forward into a relationship that will no doubt complicate their lives. Sophisticated and sexy Yours All Along is another brilliant offering from author Roni Loren.

This book is so hot it about set me on fire. Although it’s part of the Loving on the Edge series you don’t have to have read any of the other books to enjoy this one.

This is Roni Loren’s first all M/M romance and boy does she know how to write it. This book begins in present day and then flashes back to when Devon and Hunter were college roommates. This was a perfect way to tell their story.

Hunter is about to get married but his fiancé feels there is something “off” about him and she sends him on a vacation. She suggests he visit his best friend who he hasn’t spoken to in several years. She has Googled Devon and made arrangements for Hunter to stay at a resort near where Devon lives.

Hunter goes to visit Devon where he works but gets drunk waiting for him. Against his better judgement Devon drives him to the resort and they begin talking. The next part of the book takes place four years earlier, when Hunter and Devon were in college.

There is so much emotion in this book I could feel it coming off of the pages as I read it. This story proves that if the love story is good it doesn’t matter if it’s a M/F or M/M book; love is love.

I didn’t want to put this book down once I started and yet I hated for it to end. This always happens for me when I read one of Roni Loren’s books. If I have one complaint about Yours All Along it’s that I wanted it to be longer. I know a book has to end sometime but I was left with an enormous amount of want when I came to the end of this one. There isn’t a cliffhanger, Devon and Hunter get their HEA but there were so many things I wanted to know more about. I must admit I was so caught up in the story that I was not aware I was reading the last chapter when it ended. I actually started screaming no, no, no; it can’t be over! I guess that is a sign of a really great book.

I can’t wait to read the next story in this series.

My Review:
wow...this book. I was not expecting it to be so good. In fact, I had no idea what to expect because I know Roni Loren as an m/f author and I accepted this book several months ago for review and didn't remember the story line...at all. So I was shocked (pleasantly so) when I started reading and realized that this was a male/male romance. And it was so, so, so good. And yes, it's a novella, but it definitely reads like a full-length novel. There's a lot of depth to this story.

The story starts with Devon with his fiancee, panicking while they make more and more wedding decisions. She realizes he's having issues, so she sends him to Dallas for the weekend. He also needs to choose a best man and his best friend from college is in Dallas. Devon didn't realize this because they went to college in California and he hasn't talked to Hunter since that fateful night in college when it all fell apart.

The book starts out in current time and then about 25% into the story, it flashes back to college and what happened between these two guys. Wow, I loved the way the author wrote this story...it was so rich and emotional. I would buy this book in a heartbeat in print if I could because it's easily a book that I could see reading over and over and over again. There are two stories that are part of the same overall story. There's the sweet, romantic story of the guys when they were young and idealistic in college. And then there's the story of them as adults when they've realized that everything doesn't always work out the way it's supposed to, no matter how badly you want it.

It was a gorgeous story and I loved every single second of reading it. My only complaint...I want it in print, because, yes, it was that good! I highly recommend it.

i received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

For those of you who, like me, got confused trying to remember who the hell Devon and Hunter are, you didn't miss any of Roni's books. This novella is a prequel to Call on Me which is out next and talks about some of the secondary characters related to the main heroine.

As usual Roni enthralled me with her magic in this short and sweet love story. Just listen to this:

"Sometimes you took what life gave you. And sometimes you started over by giving life the finger, grabbing what you wanted by the shirt, and making it your own."

This is a story about second chances and being true to yourself, and I loved the message behind it.

Devon and Hunter used to be roommates in college, until their friendship spilled into something unexpectedly deeper. Confused and scared, Hunter backed away not ready to deal with the backlash from his conservative senator father if the truth about his love for another man got out, and Devon let him.

Years later they meet on the brink of Hunter's marriage to a good Christian girl, approved by his family and with deep insecurities of her own. Suddenly Hunter can't breathe and he rapidly evaluates all his life choices after he walked away from Devon, and realizes how unhappy they made him.

The story goes from their present meet to their past, giving us the background for the romantic involvement, and back to present ending with happy for now. It's sweet, touching, and feels very young at heart.

The only reason for my lower rating is that it's a novella, so plenty of things are not explained, and I would have loved to get to now Devon more. He seems like such a fascinating character with hints of very dominant behavior, although nothing is spelled out.

Recommended, a lovely summer read!

Hunter Riley is engaged. The wedding date is almost here. In order to decompress from everything his fiancée sends him to a resort to relax and to reconnect with Devon.

Hunter has mixed feelings. He wants to go where he knows Devon is but he also knows he made a huge mistake four years ago and he doesn't know if Devon has forgiven him. Hunter can't seem to stay away and he goes to the Savor Wine bar where Devon works. When they see each other again, all those feelings are hard to keep hidden. The timing couldn't be more wrong or maybe this time they can get it right.

I'm surprised to see how easy is for Roni Loren to hook me into one of her stories. The novella was fast paced. The characters were likable and the emotion felt real. I was happy to see where the romance was going. Getting some of the college scenes incorporated made me understand how these two characters fell in love and had a second chance at their happiness.

"I'm telling you that I'm here if you want me- in whatever way that means. I won't turn my back on you again."

Cliffhanger: No

That brief intro to Hunter and Devon in CALL ON ME was simply not enough. Thank goodness Roni Loren took pity on her fans and gave them their own story.

This book (which is longer than your average novella) goes back and explains the origins of Hunter and Devon’s relationship. From a confusing start in college where they were best friends that transitioned into more to them reconnecting as adults, I loved every heartbreaking second. If you’ve read CALL ON ME then you know the chemistry between these two sizzles in every scene (even when they’re just sitting side by side in a hospital). This novella shows how they got there.

I’ll be perfectly honest here: M/M stories are not my thing. But it’s a testament to my love of Roni Loren and her awesome writing that I not only read this but loved it. This whole series is fantastic. I’ve yet to read a single book or novella in it that I haven’t loved. Roni Loren has a fan for life in me.

Another great story by Roni Loren. Following in the Loving on the Edge series is Devon & Hunter's story, which has taken 4 yrs to come to fruition. Devon & Hunter were college roommates & what starts out as a chance to prove that Hunter isn't afraid of having a gay roommate turns into a great friendship & then into a short lived but not forgotten trial relationship. Feeling guilty for not allowing his feelings for Devon, Hunter pushes away from him after a devastating accident. Now 4 yrs later Hunter shows up because his fiancée has decided he needs a rest & needs to reconnect with his college friend & ask him to be his best man. What happens is a walk down memory lane & the realization that life hasn't been right since Hunter walked away from Devon. Definite recommend to read.

I'm always ready for a good m/m romance -especially one that hits my fav trope of best friend to lovers. This novella charms with the growing relationship between our lovers. Most of the story takes place in flashback form to the college years and I wish there had been more of an arc in present day but it's definitely worth a read.

Okay so the story was going really well until the end. I wasn’t too happy with the ending. Sorry about that. I loved the two guys together though and hoped for more.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 16, 2015

REVIEW: YOURS ALL ALONG is the latest novella in Roni Loren’s adult, contemporary Loving on the Edge erotic romance series. This is restaurateur Devon Crowe, and MLB baseball pitcher Hunter Riley-a friend to lovers, M/M romance storyline that can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Devon and Hunter) YOURS ALL ALONG looks at the history –college years to present day- between Devon and Hunter, and what transpired to end their tight knit friendship. Fraternity brothers whose lives couldn’t have been more different, Devon and Hunter had one another’s back but Devon’s gay lifestyle was not conducive to Hunter’s family plans.

Throughout the storyline we watch as a friendship leads to love, and a sexual relationship between roommates uncovers a need and want in Hunter Riley. But Hunter’s politically connected family had other plans, and following an accident that found Hunter in critical condition, Hunter was ripped from Devon’s life when Hunter’s father suspected the truth about his son’s roommate’s sexual behavior.

YOUR ALL ALONG is a story of a building romance and love connection between best friends and eventual lovers. It is a M/M storyline with some graphic sexual imagery and a hope for a happily ever after. Roni Loren pulls the reader into an uplifting, impassioned and sometimes heartbreaking story about two people whose friendship and love for one another were destroyed through discrimination, bigotry and homophobic ideals.

Roni Loren really can do no wrong. There is something about the way she makes you fall in love with her characters that blows me away every time. No matter the heat level of the story. YOURS ALL ALONG was very different than a lot of her books. It’s a bit more bittersweet in a way and not as scorching hot as some of her other books. But I fell for Hunter and Devon from page 1 and couldn’t wait to see them get their HEA.

Meet Hunter. He’s engaged to a beauty queen, comes from an influential political family and is also a baseball superstar. But is he getting cold feet or realizing that what he wanted all along is now completely out of his reach? No one knows he has been in love with his best friend from college, and has stayed in love with him even when he hasn’t seen him in four years. Every one thinks he’s completely straight. Until his fiance sends him to find Devon and ask him to be his best man. Things can only spark up from there!

I usually tend to enjoy stories that are told step by step in two different timelines, and in YOURS ALL ALONG I enjoyed the hell out of that. We slowly meet both characters, what makes them tick, what got them to that point. It was a beautiful way to get to know the characters and it only made me burn to see them happy together. Their chemistry, their friendship, their banter, their connection. Everything about these two draws you in. They are so comfortable and complement each other so well.

Did I mention how much I love second chance romances? THIS was an amazing story of second chance at love. Because I couldn’t help but want them get that closure for how things turned out in the past, and get to be happy like they never could backthen. Beautiful job. Ms. Loren! I wasn’t expecting anything less.
