55 page snappy bio of Stonewall Jackson.
It is pretty well done, and by a knowledgeable author.
Most readers will know Jackson was wounded by his own men at Chancellorsville.

It is maintained in this book/pamphlet that Stonewall was not bleeding a whole lot when they started trying to help him, but he was hit twice in the same arm and it had to be amputated later. They expected he would recover, but the stretcher carriers dropped him hard on his bad arm twice. It is possible that an artery was severed on one of these drops. So, in the end he lost a lot of blood, which led to a weakened condition. He contracted pneumonia and it killed him pretty quickly. His wife and daughter were able to make it to him on his last day on this earth. All indications are that he was right with God, and was ready for the next march.

If you visit Chancellorsville, the Ranger Station- Park HQ is situated adjacent to the area where he was shot.

I spent too much time at Stratford Hall and Fredricksburg, so the sun was setting as I got there. It was eerie to walk out in those woods and imagine what happened there in 1863.
