This is very similar to the "Little Gingerbread Man" story, so similar that my son remarked on that.
Three women make a pancake. It jumps away. Various animals try to eat it. It eventually ends up with some children on the last page, who I guess eat it. That ending was a little odd.

April 1, 2025A beautifully illustrated story by Loek Koopmans that is a fun twist on the classic Runaway Gingerbread Man story where the runaway baked good is a pancake.
That the pancake is no way anthropomorphic and yet still ran away was a source of great amusement to Ella and made this a repeated read.
