I enjoyed reading about the life of Beatrix Potter with my kids. I appreciated the integration of understanding her hertitage. Her grandmother helped her understand that she came from a strong heritage and because of that she could accomplish anything. This was a common theme through the book that helped her throughout her life. I thought this was a great bio for kids because it kept it interesting and story-like.

The great thing about Beatrix Potter is that her life was less than ideal, but she found success in her illustrations and stories. It is great because when you see how she overcame challenges and trials, you can see how you are able to do the same in your own life.

This is such a wonderful way to read a biography. Written as a story, the writer has brought Beatrix Potter’s life truly to life. I loved it!

Read this aloud with 9yo boy and 6 yo girl. I think they were interested in it but a lot of the writing was a little over their heads. We read this, then watched the movie Miss Potter with Renee Zellwegger to help with any parts that they may have missed. She was inspiring. Would rate this book high because hers is an interesting story but the book itself was a bit mediocre to me.

I read the Beatrix Potter books to all of my children and when they were old enough to appreciate the author's talent, we read this fine little biography. Potter had a solitary childhood, but her love of animals and wildlife kept her spirit from shriveling. This book is just the right length and has nice line drawings sprinkled throughout.
