My boss is an asshole. I’d take off my heels and throw them at his face, if they weren’t so expensive.
Why? Because my boss, the sexy, billionaire bad boy Leo King, wants me to be his wife.
That’s right. His wife. Except, it isn’t real. It’s all pretend so his family believes it, and I’m supposed to go along with it.
Asshole doesn’t even begin to describe him, and it’s only going to get worse. Especially because his cocky attitude and sudden interest in my private life make it difficult to concentrate on something other than his sexual innuendos. I always do what he wants, and we both know it. It’s not like I have a choice. Agree or get fired.
I’m going to need a drink … Or twenty.
The first part of Possessed, a three-part series from Coco Cadence. Note: This ends in a cliffhanger.
Wow. Just wow! This is the debut novel of the author and I have to say that I love her writing style! It's fun, intense but not tiring and above all, it flows so smoothly! In this first novella, we meet Samantha. Samantha is working for the wealthy CEO Leo King...and she doesn't like him at all. Leo King is your usual rich playboy and he loves torturing his assistant. One day he comes to her with a shocking proposition; he wants Samantha to be his wife. Well, he wants her to pretend that she's his wife. Samantha doesn't know what to do but as she gets deeper into his plan she realizes she has little choice. When attraction blooms between them, she knows she is in deep trouble. I loved Samantha. She was so feisty and REAL! I thoroughly enjoyed her as a character. Leo was cocky and mysterious and I wanted to smack him upside the head in the end BUT I will wait until I read the second book. Terrible cliffhanger by the way!!! Be warned. 5 Stars from me.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
We have an obnoxious boss called Leo King who is the CEO of his parents business, and we have the fiery redhead named Samana who has a temper and a mouth she likes to use frequently to yell at her boss whom she hates with a passion. Hate/love can be a similar affection, sometimes we love to hate and sometimes we hate loving someone.
Samantha is Leo King's PA, she is well paid, she would do almost anything to keep her job, and when her boss hits her with a suggestion she cannot refuse without being sacked, what choice does she have? Lose her well paid job or do what he asks and keep it!!!
Nowhere in her wildest imagination could she understand why he wanted her to do this for him, this was no ordinary thing he was asking her to do, was the man for real? did he seriously expect her to pretend to be his wife? Seems he did and she had absolutely no choice at all, either play along or be dismissed.
I loved how the author blended these two strong characters, how they bounced off each other, how they seemed to one minute be oblivious to each other the next they are in a battle of wills, compelling read, well written and a fantastic end which was a CLIFF-HANGER which means, of course, MORE TO COME yippee
Samantha is a feisty redhead, trying to get by in life. She takes a job as an assistant to billionaire Leo King. He infuriates her. She hates him with a fiery passion. When he comes up with a ludicrous proposal she has no choice but to go along for the ride. But will things go to Leo's ideal plans?
*WARNING* this book ends in a cliffhanger.
Jeeeeeeez! Coco's writing is phenomenal! entranced and captivated from the start, I found it hard to put this down. While reading this, you can vividly see everything that occurs. that is how fantastic Coco's writing really is. I loved the storyline; it is sexy and humorous all in one. I really can not wait for part 2 to see what happens!
Aimed after audience of 18+! mega sexual content involved in this story.
Wow, speechless, holy hot. .. The Sexy Billionare bad boy Leo King Ceo of W a woman's Magazine. Assistant Samantha (PA) Boss is utter Asshole. Feisty Redhead trying to get her life back on track, Starts working as Leo personal assistant. when Leo comes up with ludicrous proposal and yet puts her in difficult position, She has no choice but to go along for the ride. But does things go to plan for Leo? I've never read anything from coco and wow you're taking the world by storm I will definitely be looking out for your books.
I thought "Possessed: Part 1" was an...interesting read, to say the least. It was short and intriguing, and definitely left me wanting to read the next installment. I liked Leo and Samantha's characters, even though they fought back and forth quite a lot. But that was actually entertaining, so I didn't really mind. I liked the storyline as well and thought it was interesting. It seemed a little rushed and unfinished, but I'll be interested to see what happens next!
*This is the same review on all 3 books in this series, because I actually read all 3 books before passing judgement on them* OMG! That was honestly one of the most awful books I have EVER read and I have read a whole lot of awful books because I am a book junkie and I read all the time and by all the time I mean like a book a day all the time! The ONLY thing this book had going for it was that it was free on Kindle Unlimited.
Let's address everything that was wrong with this book:
The dialog - childish and moronic. Seriously how old were these people???? The characters - Annoying as hell. Wishy Washy doesn't even begin to describe them. The entire plot - Poorly thought out and delivered. And don't get me started on the inconsistencies. I would add some quotes here that show that there were many but that would require me to go back and skim ) through the book to find them and that would be torture to my poor brain. I have read the billionaire needs a fake wife plot plenty of times because lets just say it has been done to death. But this is by far the worst one I have ever read because really this billionaire doesn't need a fake wife, because he has a real one! YEP! He was stupid and drunk and married her in Vegas. Yep, she lured him into it! And then she wants nothing to do with him but she wants his company. Ok, so tell me this! If you married a man to get his company, would you not claim to the world that you were married to him, make the world see you as his wife, play the part, demand he do the same and force him to admit to the marriage and THEN since there is NO prenup )because if you are drunk enough to get married in Vegas, you sure as hell weren't thinking about a prenup), take his ass to the cleaners and get the company that way?! If she wanted the company so badly, why did SHE keep is a secret, NOPE!!! Can you say NOT EVEN REMOTELY BELIEVE ABLE??? Can I just write a bunch of gibberish on paper and call it a novel. Apparently you can..... The format - Did it really take 3 books to tell this story?? I think NOT!!! The sex scenes - OMG! I was actually embarrassed for the characters! Seriously. I don't think this author had ANY idea how to do a Dom/sub book, so why did she even try? I mean seriously!!! Did she NOT read 50 Shades of Grey?!!! She could have at least figured out the general principles behind one if she had!!! Not sure what book everyone else read but I am pretty sure it wasn't the same one as me.
I received this book for an honest review. So what do you do when your hot, arrogant, jerk of a boss pretty much tells you that you have two choices, pretend to be his wife for a while or lose your job. That's exactly what Samantha is confronted with, she's so shocked she's sure it's some kind of prank. But no it's real and looks like she'll be playing a role since killing Leo King is not an option. Guess she'll have to rely on coffee and her super sexy mysterious cyber pal to keep her stress in check! Oh my I'm still fanning myself! This book was hot the tension and witty banter between Sam and Leo had me laughing at some points and fanning myself at others. I thought this book was well written and had enough story to support the hot scenes in between. It gave you enough of the characters to get to know them with leaving you wanting to know more. Sam is sarcastic and in control but does she always want to be? Leo it seems is more than meets the eyes, has Sam misjudged him this whole time? So this is NOT a standalone in fact it ended on a big of a cliff hanger that has me adding the author to my stalk list so I can find out when part two is coming. If you're not one for cliffhangers than add this to your TBR and read it when the whole series is available as you don't want to miss it!
Leo King is the CEO of W a women’s magazine and is an asshole boss most of the time. I wish my shoes were not as expensive as it is or it would be a permanent mark on his face.
He wants me, his personal assistant to pose as his wife in front of his parents for a short time. He fails to tells me why but offers me whatever I want. So I choose three times my salary as a raise since I will need the money for all the alcohol I will need to get through this sham.
Now that I accepted his offer, he is acting more weird asking personal stuff and fascinate with my sex life which is none of his business. He has caught me in the bathroom playing with my vibrator while I had phone sex.
Leo loves to annoy me and he knows he can get away with it. I listen to him or else I would find myself needing a new job. Why do I let him have that much power over me?
Oh my god! This book is HOT! and I loved Mr Leo King. He is so dominating and sometimes quite harsh with the way he speaks. Sam is Leo King’s assistant and she absolutely hates Leo sometimes especially when he comes up with this proposition. Leo wants Sam to pretend to me his wife to fool his family. It seems like he doesn’t get on well with his family but he told them that he got married and now he has to show up with his wife. Both characters are brilliant and I loved reading about both of them. There is an attraction between them but Sam is engaging in sexy foreplay with a guy she has never met but she e-mails him. She only knows him as Mr Awesome. This book does end with a cliff hanger and I mean a BIG cliff-hanger! I can’t wait for the next book as this is a three part story. It was awesome and I loved it!
Leo is the CEO of a woman’s magazine and in the words of Samantha, he is an a***hole. Samantha is a redhead and a feisty one too! She has no choice but to go along with Leo’s plan, despite it being ludicrous! I was completely hooked on this book from the beginning. I loved Samantha’s potty mouth! She totally nailed the feisty redhead and I love a girl who swears a lot. Leo is one cocky SOB and the interaction between both Leo and Samantha was passionate, hot and sometimes funny. I found myself laughing at a few points. I really enjoyed this book and I loved Coco’s writing style. It was amazing and I am gutted there was a cliff hanger as I am desperate for the next one. Fantastic job Coco. 5 stars
Full of hot and graphic sexual thoughts, texting and encounters. I have never had a boss I thought about like Samantha but dang if I did I am not sure much work would be getting done with all my daydreaming. Cannot wait until I get my hands on Part Two.
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK ... SHORT, QUICK TO THE POINT, & DEFINITELY FUNNY. LOVED SAMANTHA & HER NOT BEING THE TYPICAL STEREOTYPED THIN GORGEOUS WOMAN. SHE'S SASSY, FOUL MOUTHED WHEN NECESSARY & JUST AWESOME
Wow I want more of this, it was just like whiplash. I am still trying to figure out what the check happened. I can't wait to read more about Sam and Leo
My boss is an asshole. I’d take off my heels and throw them at his face, if they weren’t so expensive.

My Thoughts
I actually really enjoyed this story - even though it had nods towards FSOG a bit. We are quickly thrown into the crux of this story - with Samantha our leading lady being asked to do something for her boss that's outside of what her job scope is. very far outside her scope. She's the assistant to the CEO of W magazine and of course, said CEO, Leo, is very attractive, yet quite the asshole. He has found himself in a jam where he's told his parents that he's married since that's what they told him needs to happen, and he now needs to bring a wife home to meet them.
Between you and me, how he sets it up is very fishy since we learn that he was in vegas and he was drunk texting Sam - so i gather that he DID get married but that the person that he married may not be the right type of person to show off. we'll see i'm sure.
In any event, Sam of course has her own level of sass and won't just take the request lightly from Leo, she makes him put everything in writing, gets an increase in pay and gives him grief every step of the way.
If that weren't enough, there's an interesting side bit of the story with Sam who likes to engage in a bit of phone/text flirtation with an unknown man - and they share emails back and forth telling each other what it is that they want the other to do sexually and to provide picture proof that they're doing it. just not any pics that would be recognizable (i.e. faces etc). So we have that side story of Samantha's mystery man - who i have a feeling will turn out to be Leo - but that's just my expectation since things like this tend to be predictable.
As we tend to find in this genre - the CEOs tend to be Alpha and very dominating, which Leo seems to encompass. It's only when we see him with his family that his facade crumbles a bit, but i'm sure there's a story there. When he's with Sam, he's very controlling and powerful and brings out responses in Sam that she's not expecting yet quite enjoys. Seeing as how she engages in whatever it is with her phone buddy at work, masturbating in the bathroom and all that, it's surprising to me that anything would shock her, yet some of the things that Leo insinuates certainly does that.
So within this short 100 or so page intro to the series, we have a complicated story that i cna't wait to see how it will play out. There's clearly chemistry between Sam and Leo, yet there's so much more to the story that we don't know about - the mystery of the maybe wife from vegas, the mystery man on the phone - all things to make for a very tense next few chapters. I like that we got the tease of their scening together at least towards the end of the book - they were hot and steamy and definitely have shared passions which make for a good story. so....enjoy!
First I'd like to say how much I enjoyed reading part one from this debut Author. A breath of fresh air... It's about a big woman instead of the ever popular Barbie doll skinny, young and beautiful girls. Samantha Webber is a big curvy fake red head with all the insecurities the rest of us "fat" woman have. She has a job as an assistant to the billionaire and CEO of W Magazine, Leo King. And although he is knock down gorgeous, and she appreciates that, this is not a love at first sight story for Samantha. In fact she can't stand her boss most of the time! He tramples all over her privacy and personal time. He can be obnoxious. He ignores her unless he needs her. No small talk or friendly conversation. But he pays really, really well so she resists the urge to throw things at him in frustration....Instead she goes to her on line friend, Mr. Awesome. No names, no faces just sexual release. People who don't know anything about each other getting each other off. Samantha loves being dominated. They send pictures back and forth as she follows his demands. She never has to worry about a man breaking her heart just because he finds it amusing. This gets real interesting within the story. I just had to laugh, even as I felt for her.... Samantha is called into Mr. Kings office. He needs her and what he needs has something to do with the pictures she had to delete from his phone (and hers) from a Las Vegas trip where he got drunk. And I mean Hammered to where he didn't even remember sending those pictures to her phone. He tells her the whole story and it ends with him calling his parents and telling them he got married! So, now he has to go to a family gathering with a wife! I can't even begin to tell you what a fiasco this turns into, it would spoil all the fun and I don't do spoilers. Let me just say that there is more going on here than meets the eye and after the cliffhanger at the end, I can't wait for part two! I do believe that I have found a new favorite Author! I was gifted this book in return for my honest review. Honestly? 5 stars are not enough here!
Step up ladies, Leo King has arrived but be prepared to both love and hate him because he is an ass of the highest order who will weadle his way under your skin and start what I am anticipating will be a very slow and deliberate march towards your heart because I have a very sneaky feeling that this sexy but arrogant man has more layers than the author is willing to let on. I really felt for Samantha initially – I mean, I am all for doing what it takes to keep your job but pretending to be his wife …really that is just taking a job description a little too far, or is it because when the guy is question is the god that swims around in all your fantasies – it just may be a dream come true. Albeit wrapped in a fairly prickly exterior. Leo may be a hot as hades but he is hard work, the long line of ex-personal assistants is testament to that fact but Samantha is no shrinking violet and is more than able to meet Leo head on. The fall out just might be dynamite. I found the chatter between the two of them hilarious and some of the scenes will have you chuckling - I mean the whole situation with her, the aeroplane toilet and her cyber hook-up, had me in stitches – it was just down right laugh your ass off funny! I loved the fact that there was obviously a pull between the pair of them prior to Leo laying down his demand for her to pretend to be his wife but I also got the hesitancy of the two of them. I loved Sam, her humour, her witty comebacks and her naught streak, she was just so damn normal. And Leo well I think I said it earlier – I am 100% certain that this man has more secrets that I could possibly put a figure on and I can’t wait to see what else he is hiding. I hated his family on first introduction – I mean his sister jeez!! And as for the cliffy at the end - well don’t say you haven’t been warned but holy cow, it was a corker!! Fabulous first instalment of this new series and I am already hungry for the next book – Sam and Leo have me hooked!!
Being part 1 of a serial, I knew I wasn’t going to walk away from this novella with a happily ever after and a smile on my face. I was prepared to be left hanging, but the cliffhanger was still worse than I had predicted. Probably because, in the short span of this story, I became quite attached to Samantha and Leo. The energy of this story is what pulled me in so quickly and the unexpected emotional ties are what have me anxious for more. Despite working together, Samantha and Leo are very much at odds, and it is fairly evident that an underlying lust is responsible for their continual clashing. Undeniable attraction in the workplace has the potential to burn up the pages and Coco Cadence did not let me down. Possessed is smoking, fueled by an irrefutable pull between these two characters and an overwhelming dichotomy of emotions.
Novellas tend to move quickly with feelings building fast and crashing hard. This novella is certainly no exception. Leo is definitely the kind of BBF you should probably buckle up for, but I have a good feeling that the ride is going to be worth it. I’m excited to see where Coco Cadence plans on taking this new serial. I can already see Leo’s master plan unraveling and I know the fun is just getting started. Already, Possessed is snarky, HOT, and deliciously feisty. I’m always a huge fan of the fake relationship that gets out of hand storyline, but Coco really took this story to another level at the end of this novella when she threw in a completely unexpected twist. I’m dying to know what is going to happen next. This novella is fun, sexy and packs a steamy punch. I can’t wait for more Leo and Sam!
Leo the CEO of a women's magazine convinces Samantha his assistant to pose has his wife so he can fool his parents into thinking he is married and not be kicked out of his family. There is more behind his reason for wanting to lie to his parents but that is all the information provided in the 1st book. Of course Samantha agrees against her better judgment and decides she will get something out of this as well, like a raise. They meet up with his parents and things go south really fast. Back at the hotel things heat up between the two, something that Samantha thought would never happen with the man she despised.
The story kind of ends right after that but with a huge twist. Possessed was a fast read for me. It didn't catch my attention right away but as I kept reading the characters did grow on me. In the beginning Samantha the assistant claims her boss is an A**hole but I don't think Leo lived up to that name really. He had his moments where I thought he acted like a jerk but I was expecting him to be right out nasty, rude or obnoxious. Samantha was a feisty one though, her smart remarks brought humor to the story and I loved it. I felt the story was a little rushed and left out a lot of detail. Now I know this is only the 1st book in a three part series but I would have liked to get to know the characters a little more. I can't wait for the second book because like I said it did end with a big twist and I'm curious to find out where the story goes. I'm giving Possessed 3.5 stars.
Outrageous, fun and sexy. What a treat! I had a great time reading this short story. The characters are feisty, the plot breaks the boundaries of propriety at every turn, and the steam just warms you up nicely.
On the one hand, we have this CEO who is making his assistant miserable with an obnoxious attitude. When he proposes she pretend to be his fake wife for a few weeks, she just explodes.
Against the wall, she has to comply but for a juicy reward.
Then, we have this mystery man who helps her ease her libido in hte most delightful and kinky ways, even if they've never actually been face to face. And the hot dish is served!
OMG, the things these two do together. The dialogues are snarky, fast, hilarious, and the demands Leo King keeps making get sexier by the second.
As the plan to fake a marriage progresses, Leo tortures and teases Samantha with a harsh, cold attitude, but also with words and kisses too hot and not enough to satisfy the cravings he's awakened in her. The knot becomes really tangled when fake and real mingle. I loved the teasing, the bickering, the confusing signals from Leo and especially the moment when their passion just explodes. Wow!
Now that cliffhanger is going to make for an impatient wait till part 2. I didn't see it coming but I do want to know what happens after that. Oh, you naughty Leo...
I liked this book. This is a new author to me and since I am on a serial kick these days I decided to review this book. I was pleasantly surprised and it definitely left me wanting more. This book was short (and ending on a cliffhanger) but packed quite a punch.
This is the beginning of Leo and Samantha's story. Samantha cannot stand her boss ninety nine percent of the time. He is a big a-hole but she wants to keep her job so she grits her teeth and moves on. Well when he proposes she either marry him to cover a lie he told his family or lose her job, she has no choice but to go along with this charade and hope for the best. But Samantha has a little secret of her own. Remember, this is just the beginning for them as their story will span over three books.
I liked Samantha. I love a fiery take charge woman and that is definitely our Samantha. She can give it as good she can take it. I loved her attitude towards Leo. She was good at keeping him on his toes. And Leo, you are definitely a big ol' meanie who I want to hate but honestly hate to love. The banter between these two was funny, hot and crazy at times. I can't wait for more of these two.
I laughed pretty much from start to finish with this book. Samantha is the latest PA to Leo King, but from the blurb you already know how she feels about her boss. But let me say that Samantha doesn't hold back, she's all fire and will bring the heat. Unfortunately for her, she's caught between doing Leo's bidding or risking unemployment. Helping to maintain her sanity and not commit any felonies, Samantha indulges in an online "relationship" if you will, with one Mr. Awesome (his s/n), that is mutually beneficial for both Samantha and Mr. Awesome. It's obvious exactly who Mr. Awesome really is, but Samantha doesn't know it yet.
The meeting of Leo's parents, while hilarious, no doubt leave Samantha feeling on edge; understandable, since they're lying to his parents about their "marriage". And the family dinner? I don't the Kardashian clan has that much drama. After the debacle of the family dinner, sexy time does finally happen between Samantha and Leo, although his actions the following morning show a whole different person than what we got to know throughout the book.
This does end of a cliffhanger, an extremely interesting one at that, and I can't wait to see how this will all play out.
The start of this novella had me shaking my head. An assistant who hates her boss vehemently and calls him names. She puts up with his antics because she earns a nice wage. Okay, I get that.
He asks her to participate in a ruse which will require her to spend much more time with him, portray something they are not and a few months later, just go back to how things are. Interesting twist.
But then during work hours she reaches out to a friend in the virtual friend and sneaks off to the restroom to participate in some completely inappropriate behavior. Hmmmm..... this one threw me for a loop.
So the story moves along and when my mind moves past the bad behavior of both characters, I actually find the story picking up steam. By the end, and a very unexpected twist, I have to say that this was a fun quick read that has lots of potential for some interesting turns. And while I believe I have already figured out a sub plot in the book, I am looking forward to reading more to see if I am correct and how the author plans to introduce this bombshell into the series.
Definitely erotic, definitely a bit crass -- I mean she starts off with "my boss is an a-hole" so that kinda tells you something. Cliffhanger, part 1 of 3.
Samantha is the PA to Leo, the editor of a magazine. Leo needs a fake wife, but he never says why and she's too lust-stupid to push the issue or consider this sexual harassment, which she never would because she's so attracted to him that she hates herself and projects that onto him.
I think my issue is that we don't actually get to read/witness his behavior, merely her general reactions... which led me to believe that perhaps he's not an a-hole but that she's so attracted to him that she's frustrated.
The interesting part to this is the submissive online relationship she has with Mr Awesome. HOWEVER, I am praying for a twist to this and that Mr. A is not LEO in real life because that's just predictable.
The cliffhanger ending is a good one... but I'm binge reading the series, so I'm not too frustrated.
I recieved this book in exchange of a honest review.Right now all I can is wow. When I first received I didn't really read what it was about so i'm thinking Possessed sounds paranormal I can definetly say this was why different not paranormal. The sex is hot.Now Samantha works for Leo Knight and she doesn't like him in the least actually she can't stand him.And she is having a online affair with someone where all they do is send pics of each other except for face shots she follows every instruction to please her self she wants to she him in person but he won't have it definetly some interesting emails and bathroom trips.then Leo wants her to be more than just his assistant he wants her to be his fake wife you are really going to want to one click this book definetly gets interesting I couldn't put it down it took me about 8 hours to read and now I want more this is a series and this is part 1.reviewed by Melissa for MNP
This is a very quick, easy and fun read for anyone looking to kill a little time.... ...I read it while at the hairdressers.
It's the first in a three part series, which sees Sam having to play her CEO boss' fake wife. He's egotistical, arrogant and smoking hot!
Sam has a little secret of her own, which leads to some very funny bathroom scenes and I have my own idea already, as to where this will lead....but will I be right?
Although I enjoyed the book - and I realise it's short because it a series - I felt that it was a little rushed and the characters, although likable, are a little one dimensional.
Also, although this book ends on a cliffhanger, I didn't feel that enough suspense had been built to make it has big a deal as some might.
All in all, it was still a fun read and I'd recommend it.
