Tempted to add "is animated series" already, since it's in the works, but I maybe shouldn't jinx it.
I'm sort of balking at the idea, actually, just due to how Solo Leveling turned out sort of middling even though fans swear by it just because it's animated. Problem 1: The source material artwork (manhwa) is MUCH better looking than an animation can ever pull off, just due to the number of frames involved limiting the quality per each, at least on a standard animation budget. (A single movie could probably get away with blowing the budget sky high.)
Problem 2: This volume.
I mean, this wouldn't come into play for at LEAST two seasons, so they can put off having to do anything about it, but... Jaehwan is in this and remains so for several more volumes from what I've caught up to on Webtoon. It's pretty hilarious but also... pretty "cringe." Honestly not sure how it went in this direction.
Overall, the story is more shounen stuff, "Main Character fights literally everyone else." Barely any meaningful plot beyond that, since Jaehwan has one brain cell, devoted only to stabbing, and stabbing the World—by which I mean the Reality of everything that he's been through since entering the first Cultivation tower and fighting his way into Chaos and now Abyss. About the most meaningful thing in this volume is the season end,* very clearly delineated by what feels like a Season End closing spread: Title Drop page on the left, full-page panel of Jaehwan relaxing on the right, with a caption, "Jaehwan's journey continues..."
Also, the next spread is a "The Story So Far..." summary. Usually a hint.
I did find this volume confused me a little, actually, since I'm sure I missed to review a few volumes as I didn't find them in the stores, and it's a big jump from where I was in the physical copies and well before where I am in the Webtoon version. Such a lot happened in the series that all I really remember beyond what I read recently is "Stabbing Dude Stabs" because that's the joke in all the comments, haha.
Hmm, okay. Just found *a* matching episode and compared—the dialogue is different, and some parts were rearranged for emphasis (one line highlighted as a separate panel itself), but overall the "feel" of the web comic version is intact. Not a bad job, actually! Still mostly giving "only" four stars because it's pretty but also pretty shallow. Jaehwan and Jinwoo are really having a "get strong purely to destroy everything I don't like" contest here.
Recommended for fans—certainly easier to read than infinite scrolling!—but newcomers really ought to start at book 1.
*I'm pretty sure, at least. Webtoon rearranged their UI so now it doesn't list the episodes under Seasons anymore, so I'd have to go episode-by-episode to find where it is, and I don't really feel like doing that at the moment.

I'm internally screaming and kicking the air cause I wanna kick someone. I love this series. There is no predicting it, and it ever changing, evolving world building is so darn fascinating. And the twist, don't get me started on the twists. they make me kick the air cause I gotta do some kind of action, and squealing in my living room is a no-go.
Now I got my sister reading this series, and she is not into reading at all. But she engrossed in the first volume and doesn't put it down. Frickin Awesome!!!

Everyone is getting their butts kicked by the Master with the long eyelashes. Even when Jaehwan finally arrives, he’s talking a beating… until he becomes a vessel for Catastrophe himself (not exactly a spoiler since it’s on the cover)
But containing a god in a physical form comes with consequences. So while he easily wins the fight, Jaehwan almost loses himself and those scars come with him as he leaves Chaos and enters Abyss. (Get ready for new game++ where nakedness is a superpower)
