Jacob is furious that his ex-girlfriend, Justine, has turned both his business and personal life upside down. He wants more than anything to be by Destiny’s side to rebuild what Justine tore down, but Destiny’s mother is hell bent on keeping the billionaire at a distance. With Destiny’s mother not allowing him to see her in the hospital, Jacob throws himself into fixing a financial disaster at work. Meanwhile, Destiny’s ex-husband, Montie Brown, is working overtime to reclaim the woman he never stopped loving.
This girl loves a good book--especially books that suck you into the pages and take you to new worlds, providing a much needed break from the everyday hustle. I'm obsessed with happily ever after and feel good romances that serve up a strong dose of reality.
I kind of had a feeling that was going to happen once everyone met. I just knew it. Clara was just too adamant about being against Destiny and Jacob's relationship. Her young heart had been smashed and she never got over it. Jacob's mother is a snooty beotch to the hundredth degree. How could Jacob's father marry someone like that? I guess we will find out in the next book. Things are heating up.
Shani wrote a very interesting plot in this book. The interest picks up immediately and keeps me reading. Now that all of the underhanded schemings has been discovered, Jacob and Destiny can work on their HEA with a blended family.
Can someone just give me a complete book and stop pacing it out. The story is good and I want to know how it ends but the cliffhangers are killing me. Ugh. Now I wait another 2 months for part 3.
Oh my goodness....I knew something big was going to happen...
My Lord, this book has been a page turner, I couldn't put the book down and now I'm left wondering. Brilliantly realistic and the characters were well developed, I love Jacob, and Ms Clara is a course to be reckoned with, I can't wait to read the next book as for Justine and Mrs. Turner I hate them I was seething with hatred for them at the end of this book, I need the next instalment asap. Well worth reading.

"Breathless 2: In Love With An Alpha Billionaire" by Shani Greene-Dowdell
What I liked about this novel...
What a dramatic series! This is one of those reads that you will not be able to put down until the very end that will definitely leave you 'Breathless.' Be prepare for a emotional dramatic roller coaster read that will leave you speechless. The characters are off the chain...well developed, defined, portrayed and oh so well believable...only giving the reader on hack of a read. I will highly suggest at this point that if you haven't read 'Breathless 1' you may need to in order to really understand this whole storyline. And with saying that I will stop here and just say you must pick up 'Breathless 2' to see just how this author will take the reader on quite a ride and omg that ending......well, you again will have to pick the novel up to see for yourself how well this the story is so well written and presented. Would I recommend this series? YES!
Talk about a clifhanger! Luckily, the entire box set for this series is available on Kindle Unlimited and I don't have to be left hanging for too long! But the saga continues for Destiny and "Acob," as Destiny's adorable toddler, Montana refers to him. I really like the inclusion of Destiny's ex-Montie and her mom in this book. They are featured very prominently in Book 2. Destiny questions her relationship with Jacob and I would too considering his loyalty seems to be teetering when he runs off to help his crazy ex-gf and childhood love, Justine. It's a slippery slope and then Destiny's feelings for her ex-husband are a bit confused too and he's pretty aggressively pursuing her to get their family back together. Of course, Destiny's mom is no help. She can't stand Jacob and it's beyond the reasons you'd expect. We find out A LOT about Destiny's mom in this book. A big secret is revealed at the end of it! Anyway, enjoying the series and further exploring Ms. Clara's past in Book 3.
🌌🌌🌌🌌🌌🌌🌌🌌. ( Hopefully U see the "Stars " !! ) Great book\Great series !!
Oh my GOSH !!! I started reading this book , soon after I left my review. What a HOTT MESS !!! I LOVED IT !!!! Better then the Young and the Restless ,and the Bold and the Beautiful combined 😊😊😊 We pick up this story immediately after Justine's appearance at Jacob's condo. So much action , so much turmoil, and I honest to goodness had a glorious time reading it . And I was at Work most of the day !!!!!! I am now an avid fan and have purchased the BREATHLESS box set . And I am done writing this review so that I can get back to Reading this story !!!!
Another good read by Shani. Mrs. Turner was a lot messy in this book, but I had a feeling that Destiny's mom & Mr. Turner had some type of relationship earlier on in the beginning when she opened up to her daughter about the love of her life. Justine needs to die out of this story because I'm am too done with this crazy woman. Poor Jacob who is really trying to make the greetings of both families come together. Let me get this next book.
Tired of black and white women stereotypes of being pitted against each other over the white man to the rescue of usually the latter (white woman) until she does something to, in this case, an almost murder of the former (black woman) usually perpetrated by the white woman (because he rejected her) for him to see the light and get his priorities right. Such is the case of Destiny, Justine and Jacob.
OMG, that's why Destiny mother, Ms Clara, was so against her relationship with Jacob Turner. Her bitterness stemmed from her failed relationship. I didn't see this coming. This was definitely another page turner from the author. I truly enjoyed this and can't wait for the next book in the series!
So I'm not sure how I feel still. First I don't really like messy romances with cheating and unsure heroine feelings. It's making Destiny look wishy washy. Not my cup of tea...yet I can't put it down. I feel like I have to finish book 3 to make a full assessment. So on to the last book.
Not what I was expecting. A joy to read, I wish part 2 would have been longer. Well worth the price and time it took to read. Thank you for making Destiny a sensible and well- developed character. She kept her ethnicity, without being ghetto.Thank you and much respect. Well done.
This one is a good one how Destiny's Mom and ex-husband (Montie) try to keep Jacob from her when he is trying to find out how she is doing in the hospital, and Montie is clever to block his calls. The meaning of true love comes through.
Justine is about as crazy as they come. Months takes advantage of the situation. Destiny’s mother throws a curve ball. In the end, Jacob gets his woman back.
I was hooked from page 1. Very well written. Great story line. The characters were captivating. Looking forward to continuing Destiny and Jacob’s story.
Okay another crazy cliffhanger! Hate that! This is a story of major conspiracy and conflict. I can't believe how Montie and Ms. Clara conspired to keep Destiny and Jacob apart. Betrayal seems to come from every direction. Even in court, Justine gets a slap on the wrist and her freedom after the evil she rained down on Destiny. And the shocking family dinner is so good that I purchased the 3rd book to see how this all ends. Better be worth it!
In Breathless 2: In Love With An Alpha Billionaire, author Shani Greene-Dowdell, picks up where the first book leaves off, where Justine has pistol whipped Destiny after tricking Jacob to come to her "bedside." Justine is truly has gangsta tendencies, are you sure this is not a black chick?. I mean almost the characters talk like they are black. IJS. Anyway, Justine is taken down and Destiny is taken to the hospital, Jacob tries to see her. What is unreal is that as her fiancee he should be allow to see her, in this case he isn't thanks to her mother and her ex-husband Montie. You have to give it to Mama Clara though, she made sure Jacob was not able to get near Destiny hoping that Montie could slide right back in where she thought he should be. With Jacob "MIA" or so Destiny thought, why didn't she just call him if she had would have not given up the cookie to Montie. In this book Jacob is more of an Alpha male than he was in the first book. Near the end we found out who the man is who left Mama Clara cold and bitter. Wow.
Breathless 2 is an okay read. It has the potential to be much better. The first half of the book was not very good. It seemed rushed and confusing. In book one Destiny and her children are spending time with Jacob but in book two we are lead to believe Destiny nor the children mentions Jacob to Destiny's mother. The POVs were a bit much. Why does Justine speak like Justine from the hood? Plus the handling of Justine's attempted murder trial needed more research. That's not how the judicial system works. It's understood that this is form of escape from day to day life, but don't write inaccurate dribble. The book does get better in the latter half. There is a cliffhanger that would make book three interesting. I just hope the author doesn't throw in a who is the baby daddy drama.
Destiny survived Justine attack. Jacob called in help on time and made it to destiny only to be pushed aisde by her mother and montie. Jacob dealing with Justine and now finding out who stole money from the company. Montie is working hard to win Destiny back, with the help of mama Clara. Mama Clara passing her heartbreak on Destiny about Jacob was totally wrong. Jacob reclaims Destiny love, and is by her side when she goes to court. Justine gets off with the insanity plea, with ms.turner on her side Jacob is not happy with his mother. Finally coming to terms Destiny and Jacob try to mend their families only to have a shocker of a secret come out at dinner.

Ummm did I read that right?? Wow okay I'm a little speechless at the ending!! First of all I'm pissed with the situation. Ugh this is hard cause I don't want to spoil it for future readers. But Jacob moms needs to have several seats!! I wanted to fight the trick!! I hope she gets what's coming to her!! Montie, bruh move on!! Destiny needs to put her mom in check. Can somebody kill crazy Justine already?? I'm ready for her to be gone!! Where is Huck when you need him?!? (Scandal Fan) Ok that's all I can say.
This was an alright read. It still was kind of unrealistic, and read like it should have been a teen or young adult book, rather than a novel for grown ups. It did start to redeem itself some, but by then the end was approaching. Some of the plot was kind of predictable, like the Miss. Clara and Mr. Turner situation. Destiny is still irritating. Montie and Destiny's mom were rude, and got on my nerves. I'm still undecided on if I am going to read the next installment.
