I was living the dream. I had a great career as a romance author, a successful boyfriend, and am the daughter to a New York power couple. With my standing, my family groomed me to be perfect. Despite having it all, something was still missing.
In an attempt to break away from my privileged, suffocating life, I was in pursuit of finding my own path to happiness. After my literary agent gave me a risky writing assignment, I set out to write a best-seller that took me completely out of my comfort zone and into the arms of another man. He was only supposed to be a research toy, falling in love wasn’t a part of the plan.
As I become tangled into a huge web of lies, I quickly find out that I have a life changing decision to make. Do I choose to continue living a life of comfort, stability, and misery or do I take a chance on the unknown to preserve my happiness?

This is the story of Arianna who has been under pressure all her life and finally tries to make her choices for herself.
I know that I'm the minority here but I really didn't connect with this story. The writing was ok in the beginning and maybe entertaining but after a point I couldn't stop turning my eyes in the self-questioning or the doubt of the heroine. With the exception of the heroine (as the book is written from her POV), there was no depth in the male characters and I was constantly hoping that something will happen to give me a better view in them but it never did. The plot of the story was not consequent in my eyes on so many levels.
Arianna has been treated badly all through her life because everyone has already decided what she was supposed to do! Her parents, her boyfriend, even her best friend had an opinion about Arianna's life that she didn't agree with. On the other hand she did nothing about it. She just went along with everyone until she met someone who really saw her for who she was! I couldn't connect with Arianna and her way of thinking. To me, she looked like a very confused teenager!
Zane was interesting at some point but there was no depth in his characters and I was constantly doubting him. I didn't trust him without an actual reason with result to miss out his character in this book.
Their interactions were not convincing for me. I didn't feel their passion or connection.
On the good side, towards the end of the book, Arianna got a backbone and the book became a bit interesting but it wasn't enough to correct the damage of this book to my mind.
I would like to mention that I read quite my part of erotica books and this story wasn't erotica. Erotica isn't to give a detailed sex scene in a book as it's not porn, it's an atmosphere in a book. And I felt kind of annoyed that in the beginning of the book, erotica books are presented so wrong!
★✩★✩★ 5- I NEED one of those diaries -Stars ~this review may contain minor spoilers~
I just didn't understand him at times. If I could capture the attention of so many other men without even trying, why couldn't I get him to give me five minutes of his time? I really did want to love him, but he just wouldn't allow me to.
Arianna Donatelli may appear to be living a privileged life, with her über rich parents and successful boyfriend; but she is suffocating, buried beneath her parents expectations and forced into a loveless relationship that is more like a businesses deal. The only thing she has that's just for herself is her career as a romance author, all she needs is to hit that best-seller list and she'll be happy... ish. When her literary agent approaches her with a plan to make her next book a major hit ~an erotic novel~ Arianna is unsure if she could actually pull it off. She never could have expected that this book would change her life and bring her into the arms of sexy chef, Zane Foreman. He was only supposed to be a research partner, someone to help her get some steamy material for her book, feelings were never supposed to be a part of it ~ she never even gave him her real name... but sometimes the heart takes over when we least expect it. As Arianna begins to get buried beneath her lies and secrets, it becomes quite clear that she has a decision to make; one that will affect the rest of her life.
The first time I kissed you made me feel as if you were meant for me to have. The first night I had you made me want to make you mine forever. I've never in my life felt like this for a woman, especially this soon. It's almost like you're too good to be true.
There was so much I loved about this book, so many people, so many things. It was a unique and steamy adventure from start to finish that was almost impossible to put down. The characters were all amazing, even the wicked ones – they were sooo bad there was no mistaking their cruel intentions. Zane was absolute perfection; sweet and romantic, but sexy and dirty when he needed to be. Gia was a friggin riot and my new book bestie. Arianna I had some slight issues with, just minor ones. As a whole I really liked her, what kinda bugged me was her lying to Zane; now, I know why she did it, my issue was with the way she went about it. She wasn't just lying to him, she led him on; there were times when she made forever kind of comments knowing she couldn't promise him that with the way things were. That rubbed me the wrong way at times. I also kinda wished we could have spent some time in Zane's head, for no other reason than I just wanted to know what the hell he was thinking when everything came out, and hearing some of his dirty thoughts wouldn't have hurt. There was a taste of insta-love in here, which generally drives me nuts, but it was hidden behind such intense sexual chemistry that I was able to look past it. I do have to admit to some slight disappointment at the ending; it wasn't a cliffy, and it did leave me with a grin on my face, but it was kinda abrupt so I didn't have the warm and fuzzies, but it was still sweet. All I can hope for is another book surrounding these people, I would really like to see where they go from here. Victoria Bright definitely won me over with this wicked little book and earned her spot on my One-Click Addiction List.
Was I really that afraid to lose everything? What exactly was I afraid of losing? If I hated everything about my life, why did I find it so hard to break of it?
Arianna wants to break away from her privileged life, she wants to become a best-selling author and prove to the world (especially her parents) that she can succeed. Her publisher dares Arianna to step outside her romance comfort zone, to write erotica. The only problem is where to find inspiration?
I swung from loving to hating this book, and everywhere in-between. It's funny, well-written, and has that fantastic quality of grabbing you and pulling you along. And when I say funny, I mean it actually made me laugh, giggle and turn the page for more.
Gia, the best friend, was brilliant. I loved her. She was completely insane, she led her life how she wanted to live, and didn't care what anyone thought. Gia is a strong, confident woman that has embraced her sexuality; so she's the perfect person to coach Arianna from the sidelines.
Zane, the more-than-willing research assistant to this little experiment, is great. He's really sweet, incredibly hot, and definitely goes for what he wants. And best of all, he has minimal cliché cringeworthy moments. (Maybe it's just my cynical unromantic self, but nothing spoils a story more for me, than when an alpha male starts spouting those lines. So don't worry, fellow non-romantics, this book is all clear!)
Julius, Arianna's boyfriend and future husband, is the major complication. Their families have come to an arrangement, keen for their offspring to marry into the money and social status they were born to. They either marry, or they get disowned. Julius is a prick. He is an almighty f.... ok, deep breath. Bravo to Bright for having written a character that stimulates such a response. He is very unlikeable, but he's so relaxed and can be subtly cruel to Arianna - not enough to push her over the edge, but just enough to keep her downtrodden. Oh, and every time he called Gia a whore, I wanted to smack the bastard!
And then we move onto our star, Miss Arianna Donatelli. I liked the character herself, she's a nice girl, slowly exploring what she wants, and what she's willing to sacrifice. But her choices throughout the book a) completely confounded me, and/or b) pissed me off. I actually struggled through the first chapter as the scene was set. I didn't get why she and Julius were together, and in what respect. It sounded like two friends had hatched a plot to keep their families' money, because otherwise, why would Julius (who had every woman look at his gorgeous self) even start seeing Arianna (who he constantly puts down for being overweight). But it turns out they are not only in a relationship, they are living together, with the intention of getting engaged one day. I didn't get why Arianna was there in the first place. She hates Julius. She finds him sexually attractive, but as she admits that random guys are always checking her out, to confirm that she is attractive and can hold her own. I think I would have found it more believable if she thought herself in love with Julius, or crushed on him, something emotionally binding. Because logically, it didn't weigh up, and I was shouting from the first page to get the hell out of there. After all, she proved that she's got spirit (loved the bathroom scene!)
The other character I struggled with was Arianna's dad. He spent the first three-quarters of the book being the silent supporter of Arianna and her dreams, being a real dad. He challenges Julius, and it's clear that he wants the boy to step up and be good enough for his daughter. At first, I thought that he was just humouring the farce of an arrangement, waiting for Arianna to get some nerve and make her own decisions. But then the way he came down on her, threatening to take away everything the family money paid for, and was willing to follow through without blinking... all I could think was how cruel this sweet character had suddenly become.
One final point, which is me completely jumping topic - I like the cover, it's very classy. Is it just me that'd prefer to see a curvier woman represented for this series?
Posting without rating - DNFing at 46%....for the first time in my life.
Basically my issues surround the main character and the writing style. I was working through the writing style (it just doesn't flow well for me) but there are a few things that are really bugging me with this story. For example, Arianna is living with Julian because she wants to keep her trust fund and her parents apparently need/want her to marry Julian in order to do that. However, when she was just at her family's house for dinner her father was pretty clear that he disdains Julian. Arianna then says that she knew that her father would be happy if she found someone she really loved. WHAT?! THEN WHY IS SHE DOING THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE? That aggravated me, clearly.
I also have zero understanding of her relationship with Julian. i.e. how did they even start this half-dating / full-dating madness? Were they ever really friends? Because he's a major asshole. And if he's making a million dollars a year at his job, why is he with Arianna if he doesn't even like her? Couldn't he find someone else he can tolerate who would be the trophy wife he wants and who would satisfy his parent's requirements? Frankly, he sounds bipolar.
I supposed if I understood their background better then I may be more understanding of why Arianna hates Julian one minute and the next minute allows him to have sex with her after he's nice for five seconds.
The whole lying to Zane thing is the worst, but that's my problem (I hate cheating, but I work through my issues and don't hold it against the author).
Also, for a girl who is a self-described prude and is supposedly naive as to the ways of sex, her flippant comment of "Sorry, I should have told you I'm a squirter" made me physically grimace. It was super unexpected and I didn't really find it hot. Maybe that's also my problem? It just seemed so out of character for her. That's actually what made me stop reading.
Finally, I hated that she put down erotica books and their readers after she gets her assignment. I mean, I get that is's a character speaking, but it was almost like the author was apologizing for writing an erotica book and I hate that. Don't apologize for it - CELEBRATE it.
Sorry. Just, yea. I couldn't do it. I tried. I really tried.
[I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review]
This is the story of Arianna and how she becomes Sienna. There is a possible love triangle, since she is technically still living with Julius - while she starts something up with Zane.
We start out learning that Arianna has parents who are so selfish - that her needs do not matter to them. They are rich, spoiled, and want her to live the same kind of life. They also want her to marry Julius, who is not in love with her. She does not love him either. They got together for their parents to be happy. Together, they are miserable.
Julius does not treat her right. He is abusive, spoiled, and could care less what anyone else wants. He pretends for a bit that he cares, but it never lasts and comes across as acting a part. Zane, however, genuinely feels something for her. Only he does not know her real identity. He only knows her as Sienna, her new alter ego.
Together they learn each others fantasies and fulfill them. They tell each other it can never be permanent. Then....
Arianna, meanwhile has several things her publisher and her best friend want her to try. They want her to branch out of her comfort zone and get away from her parents and others who do not love her. She really does try and becomes more bold by the day. Loving Zane and being herself is all Arianna/Sienna wants now. She has to tell him the truth.
The time for that falls short and she finds out Julius has cheated on her. She does not feel right about it and it changes how she thought of him. It just explains so much about her relationship with him. She is cheating too, but there is still guilt.
This book has so much daring and exciting moments! I am impressed with what she is willing to try and stunned that her family thinks so little of her.
I like the character development and the fact that the truth catches up with everyone involved. Honesty is always a good idea. I liked this book and I am excited to see the next book in The Curvy Assignment Series! This is the first book in the series for more information read about it on here on Goodreads.

The Daring Assignment was more a cute/funny look at Arianas life and choices she makes than an erotic romance. Yes there were a couple of steamy scenes but not to the extent I would call this an erotic. Ariana & Julius are living together, pretending just to inherit. Both making themselves miserable for money. Ariana is a struggling romance author who's family thinks she's wasting her time. Julius agrees and is quick to put her down whenever he feels the need. Her publisher comes up with the idea that she should write an erotic romance and talks her into it. Now inexperienced Ariana needs to do research to write, real life experience to draw from. She meets Zane who offers to help. Over the course of research she finds what she's always wanted in man, just not one her parents approve of. Her father tells her he will disown her if she doesn't marry Julius and Ariana is left with a huge decision to make. I don't do spoilers so you'll have to read it to find out what happens! The story was well written, I do feel at times it seemed a bit rushed but not so much that we missed the storyline. The characters are relatable and realistic, I look forward to reading more from this author.
What a great book!! Full of humor, heartbreak, drama and just good writing all around! Arianna.... The girl in all of us. I loved how well she was written. I felt her emotions and really connected with her. I despise the people that were in her life but I think that was the point. I never felt bored or even tried to put down my kindle. I felt that Arianna is the girl in all of us. Slightly insecure, due to the constant nagging and ridicule of her mother. And let's not get me started on Julius..... But oh how I loved to hate him. He is the perfect anti hero to Zane. Everything great about Zane is the complete opposite of Julius. He was the epitome of complete douchebagness. I'm so glad that Arianna put him in his place. The true story is the love that Zane and Arianna have for each other. Even if she's not Arianna to him. This is a great story line and I'm hooked. I can't wait for the next book because I'd love to find out how it ends. Yes this is a semi cliffhanger. But I actually love it! I don't think one book could do their story any justice. Kudos to the writer for changing my mind about cliffhangers.
What a great great read. A love story with so many ups and downs, laughs and steamy sex too. This story has it all. Arianna, a romance author, brought up never wanting for anything, trying to keep her parents happy, is involved with a man they deem appropriate. A bit of a prude, she is shocked when she is asked to write an erotic story. She accepts, believing it will get her to the bestseller list. But where does someone like her, that has had 1 lover, get the inspiration to write erotica? Zane, owner of a catering company, coming from a a tougher background, has it all. He meets Arianna when she literally bumps into him. Arianna is embarrassed, and excited, she cant believe she is having thoughts like she is having about a man she has never seen before. When these two meet again, the ball is set in motion and Zane is to be her muse, her teacher. And he sure does know his erotica. Opening Arianna up to things she never could have imagined herself. When secrets come out, the fallout is devastating and it takes everything in her to move on, and she does, until they meet again.
There were some funny scenes in here the first was when Arianna first saw Zane's 'member': "Um, well, you're thick," I started, immediately feeling silly. He nodded, encouraging me to continue. "And...long and hard. I can see...veins and it looks as if..." I hesitated. he tilted his head to the side. "As if what?" "As if you could break someone in half with that thing." The second scene was an office where our characters get a little feisty together, "he kissed me gently as I slowly came down before pulling out of me. "I pray that I moved the important papers. You literally just came all over my desk," he chuckled. I blushed and slid off the desk to see that the remaining documents were wet. He laughed." This Julias (I think I spelled his name right) was a total d*** and so wasn't her mother those two disgusted me, but I overlooked those things because of the humor and naughtiness I found in the book.
Arianna Donatelli was born into wealth and status and with that comes expectations. For Arianna and her boyfriend Julius Parker, their relationship was nothing more than a business agreement between their families.
Arianna had been expected to follow in her mothers footsteps but she refused.
She set out to be a romance writer.
Her unsupportive parents saw her career choice as an embarrassment to the family. They gave her an ultimatum. To marry Julius or be disowned from the family completely.
Arianna was determined to write a bestseller even if it meant stepping out of her comfort zone.
What started out as a writing assignment from her literary agent turned into a reality check.
I REALLY enjoyed this book! I love an intelligent strong stand my ground female character.
There's a lot to be said about this book. The first thing is just WOW! The Daring Assignment hooked me from the very beginning. You take a look at Arianna's depressed rich life as she's forced to stay in a relationship with a man she hates, and overbearing parents that run her life. Then her agent tells her to change genres. Instead of writing romance novels, she needs to write erotic novels in order to get a best seller's list. She doesn't know what to do or how to write it, that is until she stumbled upon a hot guy that got her creative juices flowing.
I loved every minute of this book. The dynamic of Zane and Arianna was very hot. He treated her better than any person in her life. He inspired her to be herself and her writing. The scene that she wrote at the beginning was very personal but very steamy. I wish there would have been more of that added in throughout the story.
This was a great story. It has it all. Romance, sex, controlling family, a great friend, and heartbreak. Also a great leading man in the form of Zane. Even the name is HOT.
It is a story about realizing what is important in life and believing in yourself. Arianna is always made to feel like she doesn't matter by both her mother and her family-appointed boyfriend. Then she meets someone who likes her for who she is and makes her feel like she matters. Unfortunately, he thinks she is someone else and doesn't react well when he learns of her deception. Is there a happily-ever-after in her future?
This was a great steamy, romantic read that you won't want to put down.
I don't understand the high reviews. Have you people not ever read erotica before? it's supposed to be sexy and enticing. make you horny and wish it was your life instead of a book. I've read many stories of that type before and this was not one of them. maybe it could have worked if I liked Arianna better but I don't. Maybe if we as readers had been introduced to Zane first but I'm not buying this one. if a book makes me feel grossed out instead of turned on this soon in the story then I have to imagine how down hill it will go after that. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I signed up for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. WOO! Let me start by saying it was hot and steamy but not to the point where it over takes the story. And the story line, I've never read anything quite like it. It seems original and I really like that. Arianna is trapped in a horrible relationship because of her parents demands. In a chance of fate she meets Zane, someone willing and able to make Arianna's dreams come true. But ultimately it's up to Arianna to make a choice. The feels are real with this one. The ending was just perfect.
It's hot but NOT to hot for those that prefer to have less graphic sex scenes. I like either but this was pretty steamy.
I loved the characters in this book! Victoria and Gia are the best and I love Gia as a secondary female character. She rocked it.
This story has some good sex, great storyline, and even some funny scenes. I highly recommend this even though it does have a cliffhanger! So hopefully the next one comes out soon ;)
Wow, there is so much packed into this story. I stayed up until 3 a.m. to finish it, couldn't put it down. Cried, like sobs, at how heart-breakingly romantic some scenes were. It's really a great story and not just fluff between juicy bits. I liked it!
I loved every minute of this story. It keeps you going until the end. The characters and storyline were extremely real. I loved how this book was not watered down by typical romance. This is definitely a must read. I highly recommend this book to all erotica lovers.
Thank you Victoria Bright for giving me this book to review.
Just to let you know I'm not someone that reads short stories but boy I have got to say that I loved Arianna story. And I am very proud with what she decided and what happen in the end.
An amazing tale of self discovery, independence, love, betrayal and reality that not everything is what it seems. Can't wait to see what is next to come.
The Daring Assignment is a great romance story! Arianna dealt with low self esteem that stemmed from a controlling mother and father. Her mother constantly berated her about her weight and not being good enough to marry anyone. Her father paired her up with a douche bag guy who would rather have a side piece instead of concentrating on her. Zane has a dark past that he was able to work through and make himself into something. Unfortunately Arianna felt creating a new self would help her find happiness with Zane; instead she lost everything. One of the many things I liked in the book was the bathroom scene involving baby oil and icy hot! Excited to read the second book!
I couldn't connect with this story. I don't understand how she couldn't stand up for herself. Why would she agree to be in a relationship with someone she couldn't stand but still have sex? I couldn't get past the cheating. Just not my kind of book.
I absolutely love this book but the lies...eh. I enjoy the writing style, the main characters and seeing the evolution. I'm looking forward to see how brave she can be

Was I really that afraid to lose everything? What exactly was I afraid of losing? If I hated everything about my life, why did I find it so hard to break of it?
I really liked this book as the writing was really good and the pacing was spot on. The first half of this book really rocked and I enjoyed where (I thought) it was going. But I was thrown for a loop about halfway in and it wasn't really in a good way.
I liked the leading lady Ariana as a character but not necessarily as a woman. I loved that she was curvy and not all thin and shit, but her life choices were the WORST. First, she was dating and living with the ultimate dickhead of all time, Julius. I mean, this guy was everything that is wrong with men and more and I literally hoped that at some point in the book he would be stampeded by buffalo. I couldn't understand why Ariana would stay with this fucker just because her parents would disown her otherwise. My parents would have to just go on ahead and do it. There's no way in hell I'd spend my life with a total asshole for an inheritance. But then again I'm not in that situation so who's to say really. Secondly, the lies she let build up as the story went on. OMG. Why!? So many opportunities to make things right and she just couldn't do it. That was pretty annoying.
I loved Ariana's BFF, Gia. She was brutally honest and she just didn't give a damn about anything. She was who she was and you were either going to love it, or fuck all the way off. And who Gia was, was a sex therapist with a minor in BDSM, haha. I loved her and she's just the type of best friend every girl needs in her life. The one who will tell you when you're being an absolute idiot and to get your shit together. Again, I loved her and how she got a kick out of embarrassing Ariana at every opportunity. It was hilarious.
Besides Julius, Ariana's parents were also a couple of people who I wanted to see standing in the street when the buffalo came through. The mother was a bitch from beginning to end, but her father? Now he took me by surprise. I didn't understand how he could go from defending Ariana against her mother and Julius in the beginning of the book, to flat out threatening her at the end. It blew my mind.
The plot was a good one as far as smexy romances go. Ariana was an author who had been tasked by her agent to depart from her clean romances and take a walk on the dark side. To write her first erotica, Gia suggests she actually participate in the things she wants to write about. That's where Zane comes in. As HAWT as he was, he seemed a bit too good to be true sometimes. He was the ultimate hard knock life success story and for some reason I just thought he wasn't very realistic. Not saying that he had to be. Most romances have these dreamy alphas that don't exist in real life and I guess that's just the way of things. But whatevs! I really liked Zane, regardless and thought his reaction to Ariana lying to him was very realistic. It's how any sane person would have reacted and this was all good with me. I thought the sex scenes between them were hot though one place the act went down was questionable. But overall I was feeling it and think the author has a knack for it.
A good read if you're looking for an interesting romance with a side dish of freaky. Be prepared to be pissed the hell off though as there is just no way you won't be. But you'll still enjoy this book I think. I recommend it!
The Daring Assignment was amazing. Daring is the perfect word for this book. I enjoyed the drama, the newfound love, the dynamic is statuses, the whole story was well developed!
Arianna is a romance author. She wants nothing more in life to find love and write books, but her parents don't support her and she's in a loveless relationship for the sake of wealth and riches. Arianna wasn't the dumb blonde, she may have had it all, but she wanted true substance out of life. She wanted a man that would love her no matter how thick she was. She wanted to work a job that made her happy. She wanted to be her true self without the fake smiles to please everyone. I loved Arianna because within this book she discovered who she truly was and even though her choices had some consequences, which I don't think were fair, she still managed on her own and reclaimed her life back for her own.
Julius is the jerk off douchebag boyfriend of the year. I mean seriously, being with Ari so he could get his inheritance even though he didn't like her at all was insane. Even worse was how he treated and talked to her. I did like the few...very few...moments when he started to act like a respectable man, but when his "secret" came out I was pissed. I'm so glad that Ari pulled that baby oil, whip and shower stunt on him. He deserved far worse.
Zane is a hot chef that is pure desire, lust and love wrapped up in a sweet honey with a body made of gold. He is sweet, loving, kind and he grabs the attention of Arianna. He knows her as Sienna because she hides her identity from him. He slowly falls in love with her because of how sweet and genuine she seemed. It hurt when he found out who she really was and decided to walk away. I had hope that he would fight for her, but he didn't. It wasn't until the end of the book that I go excited because he gave her his number again just like he did when they first met. He is the ideal hardworking guy. I'm totally team Zane!
The Donatelli's, Arianna's parents, are absolutely disgusting in every way. They didn't truly love their daughter at all. They only cared for their money and status which is sad and pathetic. The way her father disowned her after she decided to she wanted more to life than to be snobby was crazy. The way her mother treated her and talked about her weight was unbelievable. Those folks were rich assholes to the core. No true substance to who they are. I'm glad Arianna was different from them and wanted more to life than what her parents had.
Gia was a great friend, but the whole talking to Ari while being in Mistress mode was insane. That woman needs some serious help! I do love how she tried to help Ari out even though it was insane half the time. She definitely has a good heart.
I'm definitely going to be reading Dangerous Concoctions next because I need more Zane in my life!
An aspiring bestselling author had to make some changes on her writing style. Gone are the sweet and tamed teeny-bopper days of romance. After the success of fifty shades, Erotica is in. So Arianna had to write that genre in order to reach her dream of becoming a bestseller, at least that's what her book agent told her. But how could she write steamy, raunchy, hot and heavy sex scenes when she herself was having a dry spell in the bed department. Her verbally abusive boyfriend actually hated her guts, not even interested in her after she wore that provocative number. (Seriously, what was wrong with him?!)
Despite living together, never had Arianna felt sexy nor needed by Julius, primarily because their relationship was orchestrated. Their families arranged their union together, told them they were to get married soon or else both of them won't get a damn cent to their names.
Gia, a sex therapist and Arianna's bestfriend suggested looking for a research partner, someone who was willing to fulfill her sexual fantasies, aka the F*ck List. Someone who could do everything that her fiance wasn't able to do. That's where Zane entered the picture. Oozing with sex appeal, blessed with great looks and ripped muscles, one could easily get lost in his eyes and succulent mouth.
Soon, Arianna became Sienna and her sexual appetite had reached new heights. The only thing that was wrong in the picture? Arianna didn't tell Zane about her real identity. And it's only a matter of time before the world collapsed on her shoulders.
The Daring Assignment is indeed a daringly engaging book. Although I am not partial to cheating boyfriend/girlfriend situations, this book called for it.
Victoria Bright is a promising young author, with that, I am sure. Her writing is flawless and convincing. I liked how she turned Arianna from a naive young lady into a fierce, determined and more mature woman. I liked how she made Zane's a truly likeable character. Intense, independent, generous and driven. Qualities that Julius would never ever match. I liked how the readers could easily get lost in A & Z's world.
Oh yes, I easily got carried away with the storyline. I felt what Arianna felt. I hated her parents. I hated how they treated her like a toy. I hated Julius and his womanizing ways. I hated how he repeatedly broke Arianna with his words and demeanor.
On the other hand, I love Arianna's friend Gia. I love how she always found ways to rescue her. I love how she always managed to help her friend just to pissed off Julius.
In a nutshell, Arianna and Zane are perfect for each other, but as usual, they are doomed if they insisted on being together. How could they ever have a happily ever after? Oh, the next book in the Assignment series is definitely going to be something to look forward to.
This had been a satisfying read. it quenched my thirst for an erotic story with a heart. Victoria Bright definitely shines bright like a diamond with this daring piece.
First let me say that I love discovering new authors especially ones with a fresh story to tell. I have never read anything by this author before and now I am a fan. This story is witty and deals with self-esteem and self-discovery.
Julius was only a means to an end. Her family loved him it pleased her mother and it didn’t cause anymore tension within the family. He finds her repulsive and overweight puts her down at every second. Arianna is used to the emotional abuse her mother is the Queen of it. Once deciding to become an author she was never taken seriously since. The black sheep of the family until her editor offers her an assignment that pushes her limits.
She wears a mask every day. Arianna claims he doesn’t have low self-esteem but the constant rejection of her family and so called man has taken a toll on her. I love that Arianna is full figured and sort of makes fun of the writers who abandon their craft for stories that are popular. I found it odd and annoying that she still carried own her relationship with Julius after stating that she doesn’t want to spend her life with him but goes above and beyond to please him. She constantly compares herself to others especially her best friend and sex therapist Gia. Now Gia I loved she is the kind of friend who keeps it real with you and is self-assured. I can’t wait to read her story.
The assignment: write erotica for her career but she just may find herself in the process.
She plays the game and finds herself falling for Zane while fulfilling her assignment. After a few twists and unexpected turns following their love affair Arianna loses it all. Her reasons for staying with Julius seemed superficial. I did like that the author showed how hard it is to leave when you are emotionally abused but Arianna was a walking contradiction she wanted to be free did her thing and still stayed. It was interesting a writer living in the world she writes about which is funny because that's the number one reader question. I didn't like that her happiness was dependent on a man. At one point this story shared some semblance to a Tyler Perry movie. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I honestly after all that Arianna had been through wanted more from the ending. It left the reader guessing does he or doesn’t it? Are they together do they rebuild? So many unanswered questions that I am sure will be answered in the next book. I am looking forward to the second part now that she finally has a backbone. I will say that the cover doesn’t do the book justice it doesn’t reflect the Arianna I read about in the story. I very much so look forward to what else the author has in store. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.
I loved, loved, loved this book! The story line was fabulous, and unique. I connected with the MC on a personal level, understanding how important research is when writing a book. Arianna was given a once in a life time opportunity to make her dreams become a reality, though no without some difficulties. She had to connect with herself to find the courage to take what she wanted.
I loved her fearlessness, I love that she realized that you can't let anyone make decisions for you, that if you were truly going to live - it would have to be on your own terms. I didn't just get a steamy read from this book, I took life lessons along with it. (The steamy bits were just as well.)
I was fascinated with the idea of hands on research. Arianna at the beginning was uncomfortable with the idea of writing something so scandalous, she didn't think she has it in her, but she over came that and with it her confidence grew. I think meeting Zane would make any woman become extremely more confident.
Zane was the embodiment of most female fantasies, and you can say no all you want but the man is a chief... I rest my case. If anything this book showed us about real relationships, the problems Arianna and Zane face are all to real in the modern world. Working them out and making it through the fire is what matters. The Daring Assignment had everything I look for in a great book. Romance, steam HOT sex, suspense, and food! LOL kidding. It has lessons you can take away from it, like most great books. It left me yearning to read the next book.
I gave this book five stars for its unique theme. Not only was I left craving for the next installment, it had me wanting to read it again. This book was perfectly written with imagination and great research.<<-----Get it!
* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *
This book was a quick, fast paced, fun, exciting, thrilling, read that leaves the reader breathless and frantically turning the pages to get more. The author takes the reader through a gamut of emotions as they laugh, cry, yell, scream and just sit back with their mouths wide open in shock. The author has figured out how to get the reader to feel just about every emotion there is and to do it all within the pages of an erotic book that actually has a plot!
Most erotic books seem to bore me as they are all pretty much the same, however, this book is unique in the plot, the characters and the "threesome" that the author sets up. Arianna is in a relationship with Julius who makes her feel like she is worthless because both of their parents decided that is the only way they will get their inheritance. Arianna is an aspiring author whose editor just asked her to change her genre a bit and become more than a romance author...to become an erotica author. Arianna has no experience with any of this but then she meets Zane.
Zane doesn't know who Arianna is, he thinks her name is Sienna....neither planned on falling in love and Julius never thought that he would lose Arianna. Is love worth more than money? What will truly make anyone happy? Can Zane survive the aftermath when he finds out Sienna is not really who she says she is? Arianna has some tough choices to make and I only hope that she makes the best ones for herself, not for others!
All that and more can be found within the pages of this book and the reader will enjoy the rollercoaster ride to find out! This book is a can't miss and a must read for any and all readers who like romance with some erotica thrown in. Cast all your doubts aside and get started with this amazing book! I can't wait to read book 2 to see where my new favorite characters go next!!
Don't hesitate to add this to your TBR list and get started on it right away! This may become your favorite book this year!!! Enjoy!!
