I'm always leery of series that I'm not familiar with, wondering whether the books must be read in order. I wish book descriptions would say whether or not the books are stand-alone. I was pleased to find that I could follow this story without reading the previous installments, although it might have been more enjoyable if I had the complete backstory. However, the author provided enough backstory in this book that I understood what was happening. Alyssa is an intriguing character--a reformed or at least reforming criminal, finding faith and turning her life around.

BORN WITH SECRETS by Bowen Greenwood. The 3rd in Secrets series
Alyssa hired to get secrets, innocence of murder, yet framed by her own father. Is this the life of the rich wealthy political people. Vincent and Matt
are her only friends, the Bible her new companion,a new way of life. Her cell door opens late at night, Moira a newbie, comes in, she has one little problem, that Alyssa could do. It also is affecting her friend Vincent. Will she risks all the changes in her life, to help a friend. A powerful story, that deals with political paybacks, corruption. A story not to be missed, a gripping plot that the reader will be captured by to the end.

A story of redemption

Powerfully written the reader is drawn into another story of love. Loyalty and friendship are prominent. The seemingly subtle references to a life devoted to God is powerful. This strong faith written into a world of crime and subterfuge allows the reader to witness the redemptive qualities of a rebellious person. I have enjoyed the series and look forward to another Alyssa, Matt, and Vincent story.

Lots of action

Well written and fast paced with surprise thrown in at the end. My first book about political shenanigans and just how nasty things can get. A romantic angle and spiritual side of characters made the story more interesting. Good triumphs over evil!

ok, but not special

the idea of the dna analysis is very good, but the general plot is not very special or different from a lot of other stories.

Great Political Thriller

Very fast paced political intrigue. Very clean read with a story of cover-up, of and corruption of all levels in Washington.

Very good

You can really finish the series with this book. It started out a bit slow with a bit more background info than necessary since I'd read the previous book. From about midpoint forward, I enjoyed the book. Wasn't near as good as the previous but you get some closure.
