Owners of rabbits must first understand their pet's body language, then create an atmosphere of mutual trust. Rabbits can then be trained to live happily in a house or an apartment without getting into trouble. The author also suggests cage toys that will entertain both the pet and its owner. Tiitles in this series will be much appreciated by owners who don't know how to get started training caged pets, but want to learn. Correct training begins with having the right kind of housing and equipment, then getting all members of the family acquainted with the newly arrived animal. Training Your Pet books feature full-color photos on nearly every page, tips for hassle-free travel with a pet, advice on managing behavior problems, and a selection of games that owners can teach their pets to play.
2.5 stars, but I'll bump it up to 3. I didn't really need the first half of the book since I got my how to care for my rabbit basics from other materials. But this book was full of helpful tips and tricks to teach your rabbit for beginners. As a new rabbit owner, I appreciated the insight they provided regarding rabbit logic and how to use it to your advantage. My little bunny picked up on the tricks quickly after I understood how to get her to do them.
This book is a great resource for training your pet house rabbit! I'm using it right now to train our two month old Dutch bunny but also to help with my four year old Netherland Dwarf girl.
This book has great color pictures and is well written. It gives you a good base understanding of bunny communication and behaviors to help you be successful in training. It covers the basics (like litter box training) as well as other fun tricks and things (like jumping and obstacle courses) to do with your furry friend. The explanations are easy to understand. Very glad I bought this book, great resource!
