This book about Supply Chain Management gives a good overview about SCM. I was forced to read it for school and hated it in the beginning but as soon as you get used to the special terms it gets a bit easier to read. Although it's still difficult.

The case studies are pretty much helpful, it's got some technical hypothesis and practices calculations and procedures, its an overall great book for introducing the reader to the supply chain, though its got little to offer about logistics systems, the inventory and procurement branches are really really helpful

Includes lots of real-life examples, but it is not an easy book to read even if it is practically-focused (vs theoretical). I'd like to know if a more introductory text is available on this subject.
