A re-release of a collection of poetry published in 2013 by an unknown author, known by the pseudonym "xq". This revisit contains 65 new poems in addition to the original collection, opening with a letter addressing the initial project and finally revealing the previously anonymous author, Naveed Abdullah Khan.
The book is written really well, words flow through the lines clean and clear! I liked it and enjoyed it so much.
Through the whole book, the feelings that are portrayed are those of someone who is deeply in love. It felt like there was a story that connected all the pages while the main story is their love story. One of the interesting things in the book was what I have noticed in the last part of the book, that it was somehow written similar to the first and middle parts of the book; it is like he is reminding the one he loves of his love (but it may not be!).
“If you made it this far, there must surely be a reason. You have so much to say, say it. What are you waiting for? Say what you have to say while you still have the time to say it. Be heard. Be brave. Be you.
You are beautiful, despite what you think, despite what they say. It is time you believed it.
Please, pass this message along. All the best. Farewell."
Once you find him, he will make your writing come alive just as he makes you do all the same. You'll feel something immense, uncontrollable and then you'll do what you previously thought to be impossible; you'll paint portraits of him using nothing but words.
This is perfect! I love this the most out of other poetry books I've read. I've bookmarked a lot of Naveed Khan's works because every poem have made me smile like an idiot, as if I was the one being written about. I fell in love.
"I often wonder what the moon whispers to the sea to make it swell with so much rage. And i wonder what the moon says to the shore in apology for the sea's proxy revenge."
We are two continents sitting in the same room we perhaps look to be an arm's length apart but we both know that there is much more distance between us now
