When Jamie married Brad, she was well aware of what it meant to marry a soldier—she was marrying into the Army. The long and frequent deployments were something their family faced together.
New orders meant more than a new base. It meant a new community, new schools, a new home, and new friends. Brad’s latest assignment promised a grueling deployment schedule to some of the most dangerous places a soldier could be sent. One thing was certain, the anxiety and stress would be nearly unbearable for Jamie and the kids.
They knew it was best to move the family back to Brad’s hometown. On Éveiller Drive, Jamie found more than a home, she found friends that welcomed her and gave her the support she needed.
One day, Brad’s messages home mysteriously stop. The lack of communication sends Jamie into a panic like never before. Convinced something was terribly wrong, Jamie turns to her friends for much needed comfort. When Brad finally makes contact, something has changed. Only Jamie has no idea of the effect that combat has had on her husband. It very well could mean the end of their marriage. With the help of the women of Éveiller Drive, Brad may be able to finally come home.

Jamie & Brad Éveiller Drive, Book 4 By: Melanie James Narrated by: Hollie Jackson
Taking another trip onto Eveiller Drive, we feature Jamie and Brad. Brad is in the military and is always in touch with Jamie. It's been too long since he has reached out, and now there are doubts and fears planted. When he arrives home, not only is she surprised to see him, but what he has to tell her will change their lives! Another fun listen, getting together with the girls and getting sage advice. Narrated by Hollie Jackson, we enjoy another look into the life of a realistic couple.
Reading this book made me feel just like those videos you see when a husband or wife comes home from deployment. It is always such a beautiful thing. What happens with his mother, is almost a little comical, she lucky she didn't beat him with a stick.
Love everything he did to surprise Jamie. I could just see the look on her face, just as if I was Valerie. This one so far might be my favorite.
This was probably my favorite of the series. I enjoyed the military hero story line and the creative way Brad returned home to his family. The romance felt authentic. I feel like this would have been a great story to develop into a full-length book.
I really loved this story. It's my favorite out of this entire set that I've read so far. I really wish that it would have been turned into a novel. I wish they would have went into more detail about the injury and accident. Beautiful. Just beautiful!
I went in blind on this one. I didn't read anyone the others in the series. I was blown away with this one. Short and Sweet and not what I was expecting. I want to read the rest now too.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a short story, the fourth book in the Éveiller Drive series about 6 women from different backgrounds living on Éveiller Drive, not only are they neighbors but they become steadfast friends. They meet together once a week for coffee and to vent about whatever issues they are experiencing in their marriage. Like so many couples now a days, they've set their needs aside only to concentrate on their children, jobs, and bills. However, they all have one common problem, how do they bring spice back to their marriage? The women come up with a game plan. They will each take turns to watch each other’s children so the couple will have some “Adult” time alone to spice things up. However, Jamie and Brad’s story is a little different. Brad is a soldier who has chosen a Military career and is currently stationed in Kabul. Jamie hears from him often via email or by phone but it had been days and she hasn't heard a thing from him. Jamie receives a call from her mother in-law who informs her she heard on the news that Brad's camp had been attacked. That very morning is also her day to host the weekly breakfast with her friends who live on Éveiller Drive. Jamie is able to put her fears on the back burner but then breaks down and confesses everything to her friends. They comfort her and reassure her that if something was wrong she would have heard something by now. They even convince her to go for a mani/pedi the next day with Valerie as a distraction. What Jamie doesn’t know is Brad has returned home but is injured. He is suffering from scars inside and out that have changed him. He decided not to let his mom or wife know to avoid them worrying and allow him to come to terms that his military career is over and to grieve his friends who he lost. He hopes that they will forgive him for making that decision. He also worries they will not love the new man he has become. Brad enlists Valerie’s help to keep his secret and give him the time needed to get everything ready for his reunion with Jamie. Needless to say, Jamie gets the shock of her life when she returns home to find Brad opening the door to greet her! I really loved this story because it touched upon some very real concerns that men and women in the armed forces, their families and friends deal with on an everyday basis. It's not just about the joy of being reunited but what happens to a soldier like Brad who is coming home after being severely injured and scared both inside and out. How their experience with combat changes the person they once were. The fears both sides experience. It was a HEA for Jaime and Brad and their family! It was a wonderful story that touches your heart! Great job Melanie James! I can’t wait to read Ashley & Jeff’s Story!

This is a very special installment in so much as it really touches on some very real concerns for our men and women in the armed forces, families and friends alike. It's not just about the joy of being reunited but what happens to a soldier who is coming home after being severely injured and scared both inside and outside. How it forever changes the person they once were, far beyond the changes that are considered normal for anyone who sees combat. I'm talking about the watching your comrades and friends die right in front of you kind, the kind you can never un see. All of this is on Brad's mind as he makes some decisions that he's not so sure about now that the moment of truth is at hand......Will Jamie understand that he had to do things his way? And Jamie has been so worried all these weeks without a word from Brad, especially since the news said his base was attacked. All the girls of Eveiller drive do their best to keep her mind off it, and she keeps a brave face on for Alex, 8 & Zoe, 6 who are old enough to understand if something isn't right.....but, Jamie is worried sick. She can't wait for his retirement from service when the love of her life will be home for good, even if it's a long ways off. Well, Jamie is in for some serious surprises, some of which Brad is praying don't back fire even as he, with Val's help, is putting into motion right under her nose! You know what they say.....All's fair in love and war! A little hint, it's going to be more love than war. Then more love and more love.....

This is the fourth book in the Eveiller Drive Series and it's Jamie and Brad's story.
It's Jamie's turn to have the weekly morning gathering of all the girls, Ashley, Kara, Ava, Laura & Valerie from Eveiller Drive. Jamie's husband Brad, is on another deployment in Iraq. Her mother-in-law heard on the news that Kabul was attacked and she asked if Jamie has heard anything. Jamie told her she hasn't heard from Brad for over a week. Her mother-in-law assures her he must be o.k. otherwise they would have heard by now. When the girls come over they see something is wrong with Jamie and ask what is going on. She explains and they comfort her and agree if there was something wrong she would have heard by now. Valerie suggests to Jamie of having a girls day out the next day since the children will be in school. Jamie agrees and they decide on going for manicures and pedicures to help Jamie to relax. Unbeknownst to Jamie, Valerie is in on a secret. Have I got your attention now-good because you are going to have to read the story yourself to find out what is is and believe me you won't be disappointed!! This one grabs you in from the beginning till the end. I think I love this story the best so far-a terrific and awesome storyline and just love Jamie & Brad. Also love this group of women who are there for each other no matter what. So looking forward to the next story of these fantastic women. For mature readers.
When can I move to Eveiller Drive. I love all these fantastic couples that Melanie James gives us. All with the same problems everyone faces in their married lives. This is Jamie and Brad's story. Brad a soldier, who has chosen a military career is out on deployment again. Jamie at home, taking care of their children gets a phone call from her step mother letting her know that Brad's camp had been attacked. Jamie, who hasn't heard from Brad for a while is worried. That morning is her day to host the breakfast of the neighborhood ladies of Eveiller Drive. Jamie holds it together as long as she could, but them breaks down. With her friends their to comfort her, she gets better. They even convince her to go for a mani/pedi the next day with Valerie. What Jamie doesn't know is that surprises await in her near future. I loved this story, I had to read it right through to the end. A nice short book, for a fun and sexy evening read. Get all the books on Eveiller Drive, you will not be disappointed!
Jamie and Brad are a sweet couple. Only problem was she was a stay at home wife and mother, while Brad was in the military. Jamie is upset because she hasn't heard from Brad in a while. She tries not to think of the worst case scenarios. She talks to her friends over coffee ace decides to have some girl time. What she doesn't know is the big surprise waiting for her. The book is such a sweet and hot love story. I can't wait to see what else happens in the next book!
I really enjoyed reading this latest addition to this amazing series. This story will grab you and not let you go until you have finished the very last page. The characters are amazing and you feel as though you know them all personally and are there with them experiencing what they are going through. This has got to be on your to be read list, there is no doubt about it.
Out of everyone on Eveiller Drive I believe Jamie has it the hardest. Brad is in the Military. Which means she is always on her own with the kids and alone while he is off for months on end. Jamie gets concerned she has not heard from Brad and their was an attack. But what she does not know is he is close to home and planning an amazing surprise!!!
Jamie and Brad's story was an amazing read. I loved reading Brad surprising Jamie even after he went through hell. Melanie James is a great writer who puts out amazing stories. I can't wait to read more by Melanie James.
