Chosen by the Hunter: A Post-Apocalyptic Alien Romance

Rate this book
I blame the moonshine. AKA, I kissed a Xarc’n warrior and I liked it.
One moment, I’m strolling home, midnight snack in hand, and the next I’m smooshed against a broad, purple chest, tongue tangled with a Xarc’n warrior. “Drunkenly Taste-test an Alien” achievement unlocked!

What follows is a flirty game of cat and mouse that makes me feel young and ready to make questionable life choices again. Ror’k wakes up a part of me I thought I buried right next to my divorce papers. Wanting the horned and fanged silver fox is easy. Trusting again? Not so much.

But New Franklin has bigger problems than my accidental alien make-out session. Supplies are disappearing, people are getting jumpy, and someone in our cozy little settlement is up to no good. We need to get to the bottom of this before the summer swarms or New Franklin’s in serious trouble.

Steamy and action packed later in life, post-apocalyptic sci-fi romance between human librarian Dottie and alien warrior and troop trainer Ror’k. Both feel they’re too old to start over, Dottie having lost contact with her adult son during the scourge, and Ror’k feeling responsible for the destruction of the mothership for which he was in charge, but they’re drawn together anyway.

When malevolent mutant scourge creatures begin attacking in unpredictable ways, the humans and alien warriors must work together to determine who’s feeding the horde information and what they can do to stop them.

Amidst a scourge attack and tornadoes, Dottie and Ror’k find themselves sheltered together and their feelings become undeniable.

This was a fast-paced addition to the Xarc’n warriors series by the always must read Lynnea Lee, and I found the fact that procreation wasn’t the driving imperative in the relationship refreshing. I was generously provided an advance reader copy from the author, and I’m sharing my honest review.

🌟ARC REVIEW🌟

Disclaimer: While I am entirely thankful to Lynnea Lee for trusting me with her book and including me on her ARC team, all words and opinions expressed are entirely my own.

“One moment we were standing there in the cold, and the next we were sloppily making out like two teenagers. It felt completely awkward at first; he’d probably never kissed anyone before, and I hadn’t done so in over a decade. But boy, was he a fast learner.”

This was my first time diving into Lynnea Lee’s Xar’c Warriors series and honestly…where have I been? I went in not knowing what to expect and came out completely hooked. This book delivered exactly what I love most: sci fi romance with humor, strong character chemistry, high stakes and a world that feels lived in without being overwhelming. I flew through it.

Dottie is such a refreshing FMC. She is older, wiser and has actually lived a life. She has been through marriage, divorce, motherhood and an apocalypse, she’s also very much done with men…or so she thinks. I loved how grounded she felt. She is not trying to prove anything to anyone, she just resilience and authentic which made her so easy to root for.

Ror’k is not your typical MMC either, he’s battle hardened, tired and quietly intense, which is what made him stand out. There is no arrogance for the sake of it. Instead his steady presence in his pursuit of Dottie feels patient and intentional. He is protective without being overbearing and completely smitten for her in a way that is actually swoon worthy.

I really enjoyed their dynamic. What starts as a slightly chaotic and hilariously unexpected encounter, turns into this flirty filled tension and an undeniable attraction. Dottie is not quick to trust and Ror’k does not rush her which made their connection feel more natural and earned.

My view: The plot moves at a great pace, balancing romance with external conflict really well. The looming threat in the settlement gives a sense that something is not quite right and keeps things interesting without taking focus away from the relationship. The sci fi elements are present but easy to follow which makes it super accessible even if you are new to the series like I was. Add in a silver fox alien warrior with a soft side and honestly…

If you love sci fi romance with mature characters, strong chemistry, a bit of danger and a story that keeps you engaged from start to finish, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

Ror'k has been the overseer of the Mother Ship for years and it was handed down to him as the other warrior handed it to him as he was the only one that had been somewhat trained in how to run it. Ror'k was older and feeling like he had nothing more to contribute and was debating on whether it was time for him to have his last final fight with the bugs and go out in glory. He was on earth and visiting Franklin as some of the warriors he had trained wanted him to come check out the area and visit for the Market that were having. He was impressed with how things had come along and the way the warriors had made this place safe and work with the humans to keep things safe and establishing their own place for them and their families. Dottie was an older woman who had fought through the fighting the bugs and had gone through a lot already with having crooked humans with her group until they were able to get rid of them with some of the Hunter's help. She was now happily working in the library and had sworn off men after he last ex-husband. She was totally shocked when she literally ran into this older, sexy hunter who started purring as soon as he had ran into her and the next thing she knew she found herself locking lips with him. I so enjoyed the chase and dodging these two did in the following moments after their first kiss. I loved how this author made the characters a little older when we all think that's the time love passes us by and she gives these deserving characters the love that they have deserved for a long time and an exciting lease on life. The way the author describes people and the world that she imagines makes it so easy to make you feel like you are right there with the characters, and makes for a much richer read! This book being the 14th of this series still has me hooked as much as the first one did. I cannot get enough of these characters and this world that Lynnea has created. I love the growth and the way these Hunters have improved their way of life even with still fighting the bugs who have evolved as they are ever-changing keeping the humans and the Hunters on their toes. I loved every single moment of this story and could not put it down. I highly recommend this read you won't regret it!! Be prepared to not want to put this book down until you have finished all the way to the end!!

He was ready to die until her kiss made him want a life again.

Dottie has built a careful life after heartbreak, and she likes it that way. Then one reckless moment puts her in the arms of Ror'k, an older alien hunter with scars, secrets, and an intensity she can't ignore. What starts as chemistry turns into a dangerous game of pursuit, and the more he closes in, the harder it is to deny she wants him, too.

But New Franklin is starting to crack. Supplies keep disappearing, tension keeps rising, and the danger circling the settlement forces them past flirting and into something rawer. Dottie has to trust her own hunger, while Ror'k has to face the life he nearly gave up on. As the pressure builds, what they want from each other starts to feel a lot more dangerous, and a lot more necessary.

What grows between them isn't just heat. It's devotion, tenderness, and the slow, painful act of letting themselves be fully chosen. By the time love reaches them, it isn't easy. It's earned, and it asks both of them to risk the parts of themselves they've kept locked down for years.

Dottie grows from emotionally guarded to open without losing herself. Ror'k grows from fatalistic and wounded into someone who believes he's still worthy of love and a future. Their relationship shifts from impulsive heat and pursuit into a deeply protective, sexually intense bond built on trust, vulnerability, and devotion.

This is an ultra-steamy alien romance about older lovers who feel past their prime, turning pursuit, danger, and fierce devotion into something deeply personal. At its core, it's about two wounded people learning that trust, desire, and love are still possible after loss, and that choosing each other can restore self-worth, purpose, and hope without asking either of them to lose themselves.

The Elevator Pitch: A guarded, middle-aged woman collides with a scarred alien hunter and sparks a pursuit that feels as dangerous as it does intoxicating. As trouble tightens around their settlement, desire pulls them closer while old grief, buried fear, and the threat of loss force both of them to confront what they still want from life. It's about hunger, trust, and the shock of finding love when each of them thought that future was already gone.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

If you love fun, flirty sci-fi romance with heart, humor, and a little bit of mystery, Chosen by the Hunter by Lynnea Lee is the kind of story that makes you smile, swoon, and maybe wish for your own accidental alien encounter.

Dottie is not looking for love. Been there, done that, survived the divorce. She’s just trying to live her life, enjoy her independence, and maybe make a few questionable choices… like kissing a very large, very purple alien warrior after a little too much moonshine.

No regrets, right?

Except Ror’k isn’t just a one-time mistake.

Ror’k is a Xarc’n warrior who’s lost everything—his ship, his purpose, and the life he once knew. He’s been drifting, trying to figure out where he belongs in this new world, even considering whether he has anything left to fight for… until Dottie crashes into his life (literally and romantically).

What makes this story so special is how fun it is while still having real emotional depth. The banter between Dottie and Ror’k is playful and flirty, full of that “this is probably a bad idea… but I’m doing it anyway” energy. But underneath that is something deeper—two people who think they’re past their chance at love.

Dottie doesn’t fully trust easily anymore.
Ror’k doesn’t believe he has a future worth building.

And yet… together, they start to change that.

I loved that this is a later-in-life romance with characters who have lived, lost, and are a little hesitant to hope again. Their connection feels fresh but also meaningful—like they both understand what it means to take a risk on love the second time around.

And it’s not just romance—there’s a mystery woven in with missing supplies and growing tension in their settlement, which adds just the right amount of intrigue to keep things interesting.

If you love:
✨ Sci-fi romance with humor and heart
✨ “Oops, I kissed an alien” chaos
✨ Later-in-life second chance love
✨ Flirty banter and strong chemistry
✨ A mix of romance and small-town mystery vibes

Then this is definitely one to pick up.

💫 Light, fun, and surprisingly heartfelt—this story proves that sometimes the most unexpected choices… lead to exactly the kind of love you didn’t think you’d get a second time around.

Oh-ho! A silver fox warrior finds his special someone and YESSS! I am here for it!

Ror'k is in a weird headspace when we first meet him. He's one of the older warriors who spent most of his time aboard one of the Xarc'n motherships after being injured. While he was overseer (which is both important and fancy!) of his ship, he sees himself as less than the warriors out there fighting the scourge since he's, you know, not fighting beside them. Just to make this a double whammy for the poor guy, his mothership was the one that was lost previously so now he's also an overseer without a ship.

Yeah, he's dealing with a few things.

BUT...then Dottie runs into him (literally) after sampling some homemade hooch and plants a big ole kiss on the big guy and now he has something besides his "failures" to occupy his mind. Yep, one sassy librarian who always seems to be one step ahead is all he can think about.

On Dottie's end, she's not looking for romance. Or so she thinks. I mean, whenever these two get close to one another they seem to find themselves kissing so there mayyyyybe there could be a little romance. For all she keeps telling herself she isn't looking for anything long term (been there, done that, she says), Ror'k makes her feel safe and seen. Yup, she likes the big guy with his rippling muscles and silvered hair and determined focus.

A little thievery, a slight case of kidnapping (adultnapping?), KITTENS!, a little danger, a warrior who doesn't see in himself what others see, and a lady who can hold her own against the sexy male who keeps chasing her. *thumbs up*

This is the first book I've read from this series, and now I need to go back and read all the rest of them. Like my TBR isn't long enough already, right? On the bright side, This is a very new-to-the-series-friendly book. There are, obviously, what I assume are spoilers to previous books, but not enough to have really bothered me, and, mostly, they're just the sort of stuff you would learn from reading the blurbs (like mate bonds or previous plotlines alluded to)

Luckily, they all seem to be about 200 pages long, so are relatively short reads. This one only took me two days to finish, an that with life and family stuff getting in the way

Ror'k is adorable; I loved him immediately. Dottie is such a fun character too. I imagine it would take a lot of strength and confidence to survive what she did without losing your humanity. Overall, I just found her a very relatable character. I'm so happy they both got over their I'm-too-old-for-a-happy-ending nonsense though. That's not a spoiler, BTW. This is a romance book, HEAs are required

Anyway, this book has all the things you could possibly want in an alien/SF romance: tall, devoted alien MMC, an older, capable but slightly insecure FMC, found family, a bit of mystery, alien bug brains, a feisty kitty and her cuddly litter, a minor redemption arc, hints about who's gonna be the MMC and FMC for the next book, and, essentially, an alcohol-induced plotline

I will say, I was surprised by who turned out to be the mole only because they were really only mentioned in passing, and I'd completely forgotten about them by the time they came back around

So, yeah, I liked this book, and will be working my way through the previous books in the series while waiting for the next one

Dottie is quite drunk thanks to some experimental moonshine. In fact the entire knitting group is drunk! What an awesome start of a new book in this series.

Dottie, a fabulous character popping up throughout the series, is older than the heroines in previous books. After some moonshine tasting at their knitting evening Dottie is quite drunk. On her way back she smashed into Ror’k an older Xarc’N warrior, the silver Fox she’d seen around. After a fabulous making out session Dottie quickly disappears. Thanks to her ex husband Dottie is not looking for a new relationship, no way, thank you but no thank you. Besides she is too old to find love, right?
Ror’k has his eyes on Dottie, the very pleasurable kiss is affecting him more than he expected. He is the oldest warrior in New Franklin and is too old to find a mate, right?

What follows is a cat and mouse game between Dottie and Ror’k, thefts by a new group of young boys (but something is off), a traitor, and some serious problems with a military group that is starting to become a threat to the New Franklin survivors.

Such a great book, it is original and exciting, there is suspense, adventure and humor, it is spicy and interesting! I hope there will be other books coming in this series, the overall story is not finished yet!! Although this can easily be read as a stand alone, you probably want to read the entire series.

I received an ARC from the author and I am honored and happy to give my honest review.

Excellent!

Another outstanding addition to the series! Each book in this series is totally different, keeping the series fresh and alive.

Dottie is a middle-aged librarian who happily divorced her husband after their son left home. She was done with men before the scourge attacked earth and she is still not interested years later living in New New Franklin. But on her way home after a girl’s evening out, with a little too much alcohol consumer, she runs smack dab into the huge Xarc’n warrior that she has been avoiding. OOPS! She thinks there might have been a kiss involved, but she can’t really remember.

Ror’k was the overseer from the lost Mothership and has been having trouble adjusting to being on earth with no real purpose. He is thinking maybe it’s time for him to find the final battle and take the honorable way into the great thereafter, until he runs into Dottie and experiences their lip lock Suddenly things are looking up! But he can’t seem to track her down as she does everything in her power to avoid him! Until New New Franklin is attacked by the New Earth Militia and hostages are taken. Ror’k is off to the rescue and he and Dottie must work together to undercover the traitor in their midst.

A great book that holds your interest from the first page and doesn’t let go until the end! Don’t miss it!

Chosen by the Hunter is the fourteenth Xarc’n book and in this newest the story revolves around the soon to be mature couple of Ror’k a former Overseer on a Xarc’n mothership, and New Franklin librarian, divorcée Dottie.
When an inebriated Dottie leaves her knitting club one late evening she walks right into silver fox Ror’k and unable to resist lays a passionate kiss on him which he meets with just as much enthusiasm.
She leaves him gob smacked after, and in turn searching for her amongst the settlements other residents over the coming days.
Does he find her? Will Dottie allow herself to trust and love again?
You have to read this engaging story to find out how things play out for them just as a separate issue soon takes precedence when the settlements supplies mysteriously start disappearing.
Excellent writing with wonderfully crafted characters in an energized narrative of passion, emotion, intrigue, drama, later in life bonding, and action, vibrantly delivers a winning read. HEA

Confused Silver Fox Ror’k Meets Skittish Librarian Dottie!
Ror’k, an older hunter convinced his best days are behind him, is stunned when a slightly tipsy woman bumps into him and kisses him senseless. He searches for her, but Dottie keeps eluding him—embarrassed and certain nothing could come of it. She believes hunters only bond with younger women, and after past heartbreak, she hides her growing feelings.
What she doesn’t realize is that Ror’k, despite training many hunters, doubts himself and thinks he’s only fit for one last battle. He struggles to believe he has earned their respect, even though they look up to him. Yet when Dottie is kidnapped, his instincts prove otherwise—he rescues her and claims her as his own. Their bond is tested further when fate throws them into the chaos of a tornado, reminding them both that life is fragile and love requires a leap of faith.
With tenderness, action, and intrigue, this romance shows that mate bonds can happen at any age—even in the midst of the bugocalypse—proving that love matters most when you least expect it.

This is Dottie and Ror’k ‘s book which is an alien romance is a post apocalyptic world. Dottie is the Librarian in the town and fells that she is too old for romance especially after her divorce. After leaving the women’s group where she had too much to drink, she kisses Ror’k when she crashes into him. Ror’k is an overseer who feels he is past his prime but feels an attraction to the librarian and would protect her with his life. Dottie leads him on a chase at times until the library is broken into and things have been stolen. On top of trying to find the missing supplies, the town is dealing with the scourges of mutant type bugs that appear. Ror’k and Dottie work together to help others and to find out why the scourges are not following their usual patterns. I don’t usually read alien type romances but did really enjoy this one. This author did a great job with the characters and the story line that I wanted to keep reading to see how it ended

This was a fun and engaging addition to the series and I love that Ror'k and Dottie were a later in life couple. Ror'k thinks he's too old and not worthy of mate. However, he is fascinated with Dottie, especially after she kissed him ;P Dottie got divorced before the bugpocalypse and has zero interest in doing a relationship again. However, she ends up setting a game of cat and mouse in play when she tries to avoid Ror'k after their kiss....and Ror'k trying to find her at all turns ;) However, when he does catch her, they not only find the chemistry is still hot between them, they also overhear a plot against their community. What follows is a thrilling adventure with the bugs behaving in a new way, a cute cat and her litter, a storm, a greater threat to New New Franklin, and a hot and steamy HEA ;D This was a page turner for me and I read it in one go. I love that we keep getting stories set in this world and look forward to the next. Good fun!

Dottie is intelligent, resilient, and older (but not that old!) and has sworn off men after everything she has been through. Ror'k is also older and has been considering if it was time for his "Final Battle," feeling he is no longer useful.

Ror'k is so sweet with his pursuit of Dottie; his patience and determination to be with her was incredibly endearing. Dottie's reluctance is understandable; she has been there and done that, but a relationship with Ror'k with his unwavering devotion and desire to keep her safe, is impossible to resist.

The plot brings in new unknowns that manage to keep the world feeling fresh and exciting even after 14 books. Another great read for fans of the Xarc'n Warriors series, where love can find a way—even in the middle of a "Bugpacolypse."

I love the world of the Xarc'n Warriors. This story is about Dottie and Ror'k , both older and wiser. I loved the humor, the search for the betrayer, the mysteries and the eventual romance with steam. I also loved the cat and mouse game Dottie was playing with Ror'k. He called it hard to get, and what he wanted for his prize once he caught her, made me smile . Of course there was a shopping trip , finding an unexpected but much needed surprise. Not only do they have to fight the scourge and flyers but Mother Nature decided to make herself known. Loved Ror'k's protectiveness.
Like previous warriors he was gifted with the perfect HEA for them.
I look forward to seeing more of the warriors finding their fated mates.

I am really enjoying this surge of older MCs I'm reading. Dottie is postmenopausal woman living in the post-apocalyptic world and the last thing she wants is a relationship with another crappy dude like that one she was married to before the bugpacalypse happened. She just wants to knit her crafts, drink some homemade hootch, and run the library in peace. Drunkinly making out with a Xarc'n warrior on her way back to her room was never part of the plan. Having him become insanely infatuated with her after that really wasn't part of the plan. Then getting kidnapped and being left behind in a dangerous area with no hope in sight until a giant purple man swooped in to save the day rewrote the plan entirely.
Sometimes the strangest things serve as the strongest reminders. "...a reminder that I was still a person who got to enjoy things, not just survive them."

For starters I want to thank Lynnea Lee for an advance reader's copy of the book it was absolutely amazing.
The steamy post-apocalyptic alien romance was the absolute best. Once again Lynnea Lee did not fail to bring all of the steamy alien romance. This one was about a human librarian Dottie and a Xarc'n warrior who was a troop trainer named Ror'k. I absolutely loved that this was a super quick paced book. I love the characters I loved how the world was built up. You could see this playing out in your mind as you read it or I could. Absolutely loved everything from beginning to end and cannot wait for many more to come. This is part of a series Xarc'N warrior we are now on book 14, and if you haven't read the other 13 please do because this whole series has been absolutely phenomenal from beginning to now.

This story offers something a little different than other in the series. Both Dottie and Ror'k are latter in life and think a relationship is not in the cards for them. After literally colliding, Dottie finds any way she can to avoid her purple shadow.
Story had some interesting twists that did not disappoint. I enjoyed getting to see more of how the settlement was working to expand and provide for themselves. It is just getting to planting season, so the settlement is gearing up to head out to the fields. They have finally adjusted enough that they have a knitting club that meets once a week and one lady is experimenting making her own alcohol- yummy but has a hidden kick getting everyone sloshed.

I adored this book.

Ror’k was a big drill sergeant that definitely didn’t need to take his last battle. Thank heavens for experiencing alcohol and one fated lip lock. Dottie saved a great warrior from the end.
Dottie also got a new take on romance with Ror’k. She needs a jump start in the warrior department lol. They are so cute together. I loved their dynamic friendship/relationship. They both just need to pony up and go for it from the beginning but the ‘hard to get’ game is so funny.

Also adorable description of how he sees us humans and our many skin colors. It was beautifully written and fit just perfectly for the alien take on the human world around him. Especially since it’s planting season.

It’s never too late to find the love of your life 💞

Part nostalgia (always a special journey being back in New Franklin), part steam( I mean we’re talking the hottest cinnamon roll aliens ever) plus new challenges makes this one heck of an action packed adventure!! Being a bit past my prime 😁, I was so captivated by this story where love is sweeter after life’s bumpy ride has put a few miles on you. Dottie is doing what she loves as a librarian when she is thrust into danger unexpectedly. Ror’k is a retired overseer who thought his usefulness was over - silly idea really because a new chapter is actually just beginning. Old friends, new pets 🥰, and the hope that tomorrow brings makes this such a beautiful and moving read. I am voluntarily reviewing a free ARC copy of this book.

Who knew a knitting club could be so much fun. After sampling some very strong moonshine while at the club, Dottie bumps into Ror'k on her way home and kisses him, surprising them both. Ror'k and Dottie both feel that they are too old for a mate bond but find themselves connecting and when Dottie finds herself in danger, Ror'k will do whatever it takes to rescue her. With bugs acting weirdly, betrayal from within, twisters and a small feline family all contributing, this steamy and witty story has many twists and turns that will grab your attention and keep you turning the page. Lynnea has once again smashed it with this addition to the Xarc'n Warriors series. I wish I could give it more than five stars.

I’m giving this 3.5 stars due to just the FMC not being my cup of tea. I’m having a difficult time with FMC who push away the MMC and think she doesn’t need a man. She has been married before and divorced so she is kinda over men and doesn’t want a relationship.

It was difficult to relate to her since she was going through menopause and already had a grown child and divorced. So it’s a good read for people who would like a FMC who is older and later in life. Both characters are older. It was nice of the author to have this representation though!

I like the premise of the post apocalyptic side of the story and imaging the world this way.

I love that there's a story about two souls coming together that aren't so young! That there's hope for those of us that are starting over now that we're older. Dottie's past history make it hard for her to trust, even though she's just as attracted to him as he is to her. But there's a mystery brewing and to keep everyone safe they have to work together to find the culprits. They both reach epiphanies along the way, that along with battling the scourge, a traitor in their group and fighting their attraction, I was enthralled. So much story packed into so few pages! Passion adventure and danger! What's not go love? I did!

I’ve really enjoyed this series, and Chosen by the Hunter by Lynnea Lee is no exception.

Set in a post-bugcopalypse world where alien warriors have come to help eliminate the scourge species, the series leans into all the tropes I enjoy—fated mates, possessive MMCs, and guaranteed HEAs—but still manages to keep each story feeling fresh.

This one had a great mix of elements: a bit of action and adventure, some “hard-to-get” tension, and just the right amount of sass and banter between the leads. The chemistry builds naturally, and the spice is there without overpowering the story.

Another solid installment in a consistently enjoyable sci-fi romance series.

Super cute

Very cute, very romantic, very fun. I especially thought what he did with his horn at the end was super adorable. Now, I don't remember if it mentioned it in previous books, but in this book I didn't see any mention of what happened to her son. Also, I feel like the "babies" (to reduce spoiling that as much as possible) kept getting forgotten. I was like, "Why aren't they checking on them!?" and "Why aren't the kids excited about the babies?" and "Wait don't take the ship what about the babies!?" Lol. And I was a bit sad they didn't find any others. But, despite my anxiety on that subject 😅 I found the story to be very sweet. You're never too old to find love, that's for sure 🥰

Review of advance copy

Drunken knitting clubs, food, and trying to survive during the bugpocalypse. Chosen by the Hunter was definitely a fun/ quick read. I especially liked that the story centers around an older pair of main characters, Dottie and Ror’k, who both think they’re long past their prime to find love.

Dottie describing Ror’k as “the purple silver fox” had me laughing, and things really kick off when she literally plasters herself against his chest one night.

It was refreshing to read a romance with older characters, a silver-fox alien, a librarian fmc, drama in the community, and plenty of bugs made for a really entertaining story.

While this book can be read as a standalone, it is even better if you read the series in order. Each book builds on the previous story by expanding on characters. Survivors of the bugpocalypse continue to build the new society which comes with reinventing things. Like taste testing a new batch of moonshine. Resulting in the entire knitting club getting quickly trashed on the strong new recipe.

Dottie has a sloshed meet cute with Ror'k which in turn becomes a catch me if you can game. Once again this book was even better than the last with all kinds of unexpected twists and turns.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ror’k and Dottie are not the usual main characters. They are both older, jaded, experienced and neither are looking for love in a world where survival is the first order of business. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two find joy again when they didn’t think any could exist. The way that they worked together and opened up to each other through their trials made me realize that it doesn’t matter how old or young we are, in order for relationships to thrive, we must be open and ready to communicate. Physical attraction doesn’t hurt either!!!

Although this is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I received an ARC copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Beyond Fated Mates

Love, love, love Lynnea Lee’s books! She absolutely draws you in from the first page. You’re gonna want to read them all.

…Smexy alien hottie, Ror’k thinks he is too old for love or fated mates. He thinks he has outlived his usefulness, and it might be time to go on his “final hunt” but then a beautiful woman crosses his path (literally slams into him) and kisses him. He HAS to find her. It doesn’t matter how old he is or that he cannot bond with her. He CHOOSES her anyway. Will he get a chance to tell her, or will a kidnapping and subsequent tornado keep them apart?
