A stolen invitation. A rigged tournament. A passive power that defies the world's logic.
Nathan Reed survived the Moirath Forest and the brutal training of Master Darkan, but his reward was a betrayal. His guaranteed entry into the prestigious Shifting Trials has been stolen by the elite, leaving him stranded in the industrial sprawl of Maelivar.
Without the combat fame to challenge the nobility, Nathan has to get creative. He can’t fight his way in, so he’ll have to cook his way in.
But the Trials are a slaughterhouse designed to weed out the weak.
Trapped in a pocket dimension with Tier 3 beasts and rival squads hunting him down, Nathan must reunite with his captured monster partner, Argentius, and lead a team of misfits against the realm’s strongest prodigies.
But as the competition heats up, a mysterious figure in white watches from the shadows. To protect his friends and seize the power of the Advancement Stream, Nathan may be forced to break his Master’s one
Worth the read at any price. Great second book to the strong start of the first. The climactic fights do get long in description but touched with creativity.
The sequel was most certainly worth the wait, and I loved everything from Nathan to the supporting characters and excellent world building.I can’t wait for the next book.
