Losing your father changes everything — even when the world around you looks the same.
The Father Loss Companion is a gentle, reflective loss ofdad book created especially for daughters who are learning how to live while still missing their dad.
This is not a book about “moving on.” It is a comforting space for remembrance, reflection, and carrying love alongside grief after losing your father.
Written from lived experience, this father loss book speaks
• The quiet moments when grief returns unexpectedly • Milestones that feel different without him • The urge to reach for the phone that is no longer there • What it feels like to be missing your dad in everyday life • The enduring love that never truly leaves
Unlike traditional grief books, this is not about timelines or pressure. There is no “right” way to grieve the death of your father.
Instead, this book offers gentle reflections, emotional grounding, and compassionate reassurance for daughters navigating the loss of a father.
If you are missing your dad or searching for a book to help you cope with the loss of your father, you are not alone.
And these pages were written so you don’t have to carry that feeling by yourself.
I wrote the book I desperately needed after losing my dad.
After my dad passed away in 2014, I found myself searching for words that felt honest about grief — not clinical, not rushed, and not focused on “moving on.” I wanted comfort that acknowledged how deeply loss changes you, especially when you lose someone who felt like home.
That experience eventually led me to write The Father Loss Companion and create 3213 Keepsake Lane, a grief support community where people can feel understood in the middle of missing someone they love.
Most of my writing centers around father loss, memory, love, and the lifelong nature of grief. My hope is simply that readers feel a little less alone when they turn the page.
This was exactly what I was needing at the current time of processing the loss of my Dad. Short, simple, and to the point...I loved it so much I ordered the physical copy also!
I feel as if I could quote this entire book. Every sentence hit home to me. Every sentence made me feel something. Every sentence was something I had gone through. So many sentences in this book made me tear up. It was just so accurate.
I know there are some friends here who have lost their dads too. If you haven’t read this book, I hope that you will. This will work with any loss, even though it’s written for a daughter losing a dad. This was a beautiful reflective read, and though it brought up a lot of emotion, it was still a wonderful read.
I foresee reading this book over and over. Anytime I’m feeling the never ending grief, I’ll read this. And it will remind me that I’m not alone. That I’m not the first, and that it is perfectly normal to miss someone so much.
