11 books6 followersNaryana Reddy married Susheela and with her had four daughters. He has instituted an award named after his wife and this is presented annually to female writers. He lives in Film Nagar, Hyderabad.
Reddy won the Gnanapeet Award in 1988 for his poetic work, Viswambara. He had been awarded an honorary Kala Prapoorna by Andhra University in 1978, having been a recipient of the Padma Shri in 1977. He was conferred with the Raja-Lakshmi Award by the Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation in 1988 and in 1992 he was honoured with India's third-highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan.
Narayana Reddy was nominated to the Rajya Sabha – the upper house of the Indian Parliament – in August 1997.

ఈ పుస్తకాన్ని మొదటి సారి తీసినప్పుడు నాకు నచ్చిన విషయం దీని శీర్షిక. అంతే కాకుండా ఈ కావ్యాన్ని జ్ఞానపీఠ పురస్కారం 1988 లో వచ్చిందన్న విషయం ఈ పుస్తకం వైపు లాగింది. సినారే గారు వ్రాసిన పాటలు చిన్నప్పటినుంచే విన్నటును కానీ ఒక కావ్య పుసక్తం చదవడం మొదటి సారి. ఈ కావ్యం గురించి ఎంత చెప్పినా తక్కువే. మొదటి సారి చదివే తప్పుడు నాకు ఇంగ్లీష్ కవి మిల్టన్ రచించిన "ప్యారడైస్ లాస్ట్" గురుతుకు వచ్చింది కానీ చాలా విషయాలు భిన్నంగా కూడా ఉన్నాయి. ఈ కావ్యం లో నాయకుడు మానవుడు మరియు రంగస్థలం విశాల విశ్వంభర. ఈ మొత్తం కావ్యంలో తేదీలు ఉండవు, పేర్లు ఉండవు, కానీ నేపథ్యం మాత్రం ప్రకృతి. దీనిలో మనిషి ధరించే భూమికలకు మూలధాతువులు మన మనశ్శక్తులు.
ఒక విషయం నేను గమనించింది ఎం అనగా సినారె గారు చాలా జాగ్రత్తగా అన్ని పాత్రలను సందర్శించడం జరిగింది. మనిషి దీనిలో అలెగ్జాండర్, క్రీస్తు, అశోకుడు, సోక్రటీస్, బుద్ధుడు, లింకన్, లెనిన్, మర్క్స్, గాంధీ పాత్రలు ధరిస్తాడు. దీనిలో మనం గమనించాల్సింది ఏమనగా అన్ని పాత్రలు మన ప్రపంచాన్ని ఎదో విధంగా మార్చారు లేదా మార్పు చేకూర్చడానికి పునాది వేశారు. కానీ ఇక్కడ కూడా సినారె గారు పేర్లు వాడలేదు. గాంధీ గారి గురించి ప్రస్తావించేటప్పుడు ఒక కర్ర ఇంకా కళ్ళద్దం అని రాస్తారు.
ఈ కవిత్వంలో ఎక్కడ కూడా మనను బాధ పెట్టె విషయాలు కనిపించవు. మన మానవ బుద్ధి మరియు భవనాలను చాలా సున్నితంగా ప్రస్తావించారు కవి. కామం, క్రోధం, లోభం, మదం, ఆత్మశోధనం, ప్రకృతిశక్తుల వశీకరణం లాంటి మరెన్నో భవనాలు మనిషిలో లోతుగా కురుకపోయిన విషయాలు కవి ఇక్కడ వివిధ పాత్రలో మనకు చూపించడం జరిగింది. ఈ కవితవ్యం లో మనిషి ఆది నుంచి నేటి వరకు చవిచూసిన మార్పులు, చేర్పులు అన్ని ప్రస్తావించడం జరిగింది.
సినారె గారి ప్రకారం మనిషి సాధన త్రిముఖం - కళాత్మకం, వైజ్ఞానికం, ఆధ్యాత్మికం. ఈ సాధనలో అడుగడుగునా ఎదురుదెబ్బలు. ఇవ్వన్నీ ఈ మహాకావ్యానికి అమరత్వం తెచ్చిపెట్టండి. నేను అందరికి ఈ కవిత్వం చదవమని సలహా ఇస్తున్నాను. మీది అందరికి తప్పకుండా నచ్చుతుంది.
When I took up this book for the first time, the thing that most attracted me was it's title, not only that but this book received the Jnanpith Award in 1988 pulled me closer towards it. I have been listening to CiNaRe's songs since my childhood but I hadn't read any of his poetry books. I would run out of words describing about this particular book. When I started reading it for rhe first time, it reminded me of English poet John Milton's "Paradise Lost" but at the same time there are many things that are very different from it. The hero of this poem is a human and the battlefield is the extant land and sky. The whole poem doesn't contain any names or dates but the influencing factor is nature. The energies that human has in him are also the core influences in this poem.
I noticed a particular thing about this poem is that CiNaRe has delicately studied all the characters. Human in this poem takes up the characters of Alexander, Christ, Ashoka, Socrates, Buddha, Lincoln, Lenin, Marx, Gandhi and many more. The one thing that we need to notice is that all these characters had considerable influence in shaping our past, present, and future. Even here, CiNaRe hasn't used any name. When describing about Gandhi, he uses a stick and glasses.
This poem doesn't contain anything that would hurt us. Human emotions are investigated very delicately by the poet. Lust, Anger, Greed, Arrogance, investigation of soul, controlling nature, all these emotions are shown through various characters that a human takes. The changes that a human went through from beginning to present are shown very perfectly by the poet.
According to the poet CiNaRe, the practice and hardwork that humans do have three faces - Artistic, Scientific, and Spiritual. During these practices, there are a lot of setbacks too. All of these things brought immortality to CiNaRe's poem. I would suggest everyone to read it. You won't be disappointed.

A poem so rear that celebrates the arrival and evolution of the humans, page by page.
You will feel so mesmerized and awestruck by the choice of words, from the start to the end.

One of the best poetry i have read. However, it is difficult to read initially, with lot of words that are not used in common telugu.

What an epic poem. Extremely powerful work by Cinare. One must read this book throughout one’s life just to understand from where he came and where he must reach and what’s in his way - Heart. A literary documentation of ‘Man’s journey in the Universe’.
