This was a sweet story. You have a couple Jodie and Tate Connelly that are going through a somewhat crisis. Tate is a police officer on a task force and is vitally wounded. Tate goes through surgeries and feels he is not at his best and is upset about it. He wants to be strong like he was before the shooting.

Jodie moves them back to her family ranch for a change of scenery and through her Aunt Mae's demand. Will this help Tate heal and realize that asking his wife Jodie for a divorce is the wrong thing to do.

Tate was annoying at times and yet I could understand why he was acting the way he was. Our mind can sometimes be our worst enemy.

I was a little hesitant about this one, but it turned out to be a fabulous read. Tate is a phenomenal character, conflicted between what he wants and what he thinks is best. As he struggles to really discover who he is you can understand what he is going through. Jodie is at his her wits end and you can feel her desperation to reach out to her husband again. Their story is touching and amazing. I must admit, I think there were other books that went with this one - it seemed like there were other couples that had stories too - perhaps even one of Jodie and Tate once upon a time. Although it took a little getting used to all the characters, it didn't take too long. Really good read - I would recommend it!

The bad thing about this book was that I didn't know this was part of a series. It seemed like some of these characters were from another book and I really wasn't able to follow the storyline with them. Other than that it was a good read.

It was a good book until the end. The end I would have thought would be a little different.
