PRAISE FOR SCOTT MARIANI'S STUNNING WILL BOWMAN SERIES 'A joyride of a story. My new favourite series' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A truly excellent book' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A true craftsman of his profession' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A master storyteller' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A gripping tale of honourable survival' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'Scott Mariani has taken to historical fiction like a duck to water' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another enjoyable yarn in the Will Bowman series. More of the same really, a different theatre but an equally good adventure for Will and his loyal band of friends. An easy reading page turner - I look forward to the next in the series.
I always enjoy Scot Mariani, and I liked the earlier books in the series but I found this !ing catalogue of battles and fighting dull and frank!g very hard going. I won't get any more in the series and was really disappointed with this one.
If this series is not one of the best historical fiction dramas there is, I don't know if one better. Full on action, great characters and plenty of research leads to a totally believable plot.
Die for a King is one of those rare books, which, Is a contradiction, I wanted to finish it quickly, it is a page turner, but I didn’t want it to end. Scott, you done it again. A brilliant novel, but also a history lesson.
Greatly enjoyed reading the adventures of will bowman, and hope there will be another instalment now I will have to return to the Ben Hope series and continue with them.
Having completed this last book of a trilogy which I have not been able to put down I am hoping that there will be more to follow. A great story which blended historical facts into a fictional tale.
The first half narrative was constrained by the history of the Third Crusade, with the key characters inserted but the second half was more exciting so just about 4 star overall
