Kinda underwhelmed. Was really looking forward to seeing what the MC was going to do to recover his family’s rep, power and money. Even the portals are of less interest to me. I put up with them being overly descriptive because they are essential to the plot. But. But. But. I have to give this a lower score. Most glaring misdescription is that our MC falls in love. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the MC lost some likeability and respect from me. Some of the machinations fell flat. You could see the murder plots a mile off. Also, I despised how women were portrayed and presented in this book. There were hints of it in the previous book, but in this book becomes unpalatable. I generally like these Russian style stories (in spite of a little chauvinism). I have lessened my expectations for the next offering, and am unsure if I will continue.
It's not really surprising that he was killed. He didn't keep it secret like he should have that he was helping the mc. I mean, for crying out loud.He was letting him use his own office for his business meetings. It would be nice if none of his people die in the next book
Talk of Vladimirs love life is a bit strong , he's got a couple of friends with benefits and with his moods he'll be lucky to keep them , not as good as the first two books but still enjoyable.
Unfortunately, this book couldn't keep me invested in the plot. The revenge plot seemed super premature and the portals were a bore as well, sadly.. People are way too helpful towards the MC which makes the plot feel contrived.
