Anyone know where I can find Arame? No? Oh...ok. Sigh. The first part of this book gives you great info on what causes candida, the symptoms, and how to help kill the overgrowth. What's odd? The book is called "Living Candida-Free" but it is often mentioned in the book that we don't want to kill the candida which just want to diminish the overgrowth.

I was really into this book and ready to try out the recipes until I started to read through the list of ingredients. I have made quite a few vegan and/or gluten free meals over the last couple of years. I have participated in my share of dietary cleanses. I am indomitably intimidated by most of the recipes in this book. I love cooking but I don't want to spend hours chopping, soaking, or running around town shopping for ingredients just to prepare ONE meal! I live in a major city, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to shop for these ingredients in a smaller town.

This diet can be done. It's just a major investment of time and money. I know that when it comes to battling an illness you will stop at nothing to help it end. I'm just concerned that someone may read this and immediately become discouraged. Maybe start out eliminating the foods that encourage candida flare ups and create your own meals from there. Good luck.

The book is informative and thorough, while manages to not be lengthy. I enjoy her down-to-earth and take-it-easy attitude. Plus, even if you don't have all the ingredients, the recipes can inspire creativity. Otherwise, they're good to follow!

Great book with lots of recipe ideas. Also lots of explanations. This book helped me, help my daughter at age 10 heal from candida.

Easy to understand explanations of candida overgrowth, followed by lots of diet tips along the line of GAPS if you are familiar, but not very well supported by science and the author acknowledges that while this diet is what worked for her after months of tweaking, that she followed the basic 1 plan for 6 months before she saw a change.
There are a lot of good health tips here, and I did not try a single recipe yet (if I do I will return), but I wasn't dazzled enough to follow the plan.

I should also explain that i got this book to try and find ways of reducing candida overgrowth on skin that can exascerbate eczema, and this book discusses eczema as a symptom of candida overgrowth, but does NOT address ways of reducing candida overgrowth for sufferers of Atopic Dermititis prone to candida overgrowth

I don't have Candida- at least I don't think I do. But I saw this book by Ricki and I wanted to read it. I'm glad I did. It's obvious that or sugar intake, especially in this culture, is affecting our health in negative ways. I appreciate that when I read this book I could understand it and it made sense. And I'm so excited to keep trying the recipes! This will definitely stay in my well-used resources collection for a long time.

Very quick, to the point, super helpful questionnaire in back, and GREAT recipes. A must if you are vegan, have candida-overgrowth and want to fix it without having to edit recipes that are not vegan from other candida diet cookbooks.

Good information. Too much sugar is definitely poison to your body.
