Meet Book #2 in Daniel Hurst's "The Hunt Family" series.

Even though the book is a standalone read, it's strongly advisable to read Book #1 first.

WHY?
➡️ "I Want Your Family" (Book #1) is better than Book #2.
The first book's plotting and tension were significantly more impactful than Book #2. Quite frankly, the first book in this series set a high bar that Book #2 didn't reach.
➡️ Readers who start with the first book will have a more in-depth understanding of the characters' motivations showcased in the first book.

Even though this book was disappointing, I am still intrigued by this series and will definitely listen to Book #3 when it's released.

I listened to the audiobook, expertly narrated by Clare Corbett, Helen Keeley, and Nathaniel Priestley.

Full-cast audio narrations are always a treat, and all narrators gave outstanding performances.

I liked this one better than the first book in the series. The characters were more well-developed and Sadie finally got some backbone, giving me someone to root for! Luna is more diabolical than ever, Reed is still clueless and annoying, and Gemma plays a slightly bigger role. Looking forward to the conclusion in the next installment.

4⭐️ This was even better than the first book—I genuinely couldn’t put it down. From the very beginning, the tension builds quickly, and I found myself constantly wanting to read just one more chapter. If you enjoy stories full of tension, deception, and unexpected twists, this is definitely worth reading.

This was my first Daniel Hurst book, but I’m anxiously waiting the next book in this series. This is the second book, and I didn’t read the first. I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything though.

This book is full of suspense. There are so many lies and so many secrets, and it feels like at any second everything will be revealed and/or someone’s life is about to blow up. I feel like the author wanted me to feel for Sadie and root for her, and dislike Luna.. which I did – for both! Reid just seems to blinded. He wants to believe what he wants to believe and doesn’t look at anything with a critical eye. I felt for the children too. The author did a great job of making the children act like children, especially those in a situation like that.

We got varying point of views here, which I really loved because it was first person point of view so we really got into the heads of these characters.

I HAVE to mention this.. THE END!! The CLIFFHANGER!!! I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t realize it was going to end on a cliffhanger, and when I read that it was the end of the book, I was screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in my head! I need to figure out when the next one comes out because I need to know how this all plays out!!!!

It feels like an age has passed since I read the first book in this series - 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 - in reality, it's been a month! I didn't bother with the blurb and dove straight in. It was like I'd never been away!

Luna was still as unhinged and duplicitous as before, but would her plans prevail? While she's one of the most unlikeable characters I've come across in a while, she's definitely one worth investing in.

The continuation was seamless, the pacing relentless, and the plot easily addictive.

Here's to 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 which is due in April.

4.25 ⭐️ Thanks to netgalley for an advanced reader copy of ‘I stole your family’ by Daniel Hurst. ‘I stole your family’ releases on March 20th, 2026. This novel is the second installment to the ‘family’ series and wow what a ride.

So far I am throughly enjoying the ‘family’ series by Daniel Hurst, but I have to say I enjoyed this book a little bit more than ‘I want your family.’

This novel has a very unhinged main character named Luna who brings lots of drama and chaos to the storyline. In the previous novel, ‘I want your family’, Luna drove Reid and his wife Sadie apart causing them to separate. Shortly after Reid & Sadie separated, Luna swooped in to get her perfect family. In ‘I stole your family’, Sadie is trying to figure out who set her up and is trying to get her family back.

This novel was full of lies, deception and dangerous decisions. It was plot twist after plot twist and made me stay up extra late to see what was going to happen. ‘I stole your family’ was unhinged, exhilarating & engaging. I’m looking forward to the last book in the ‘family’ series.

Gripping

This is good. So many twists and turns. It's so scary when little ones are involved. Who will win? Whoo will still be standing? Wish I had known it was a cliffhanger to be continued. I would have delayed reading it until the other book was released.

I’m loving this series and am also giving this 2nd installment a flaming 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I’m not giving away much more than what’s in the official blurb, BUT I highly recommend reading the series in order. 😉

Lucky Luna the lunatic is no longer living a lonely life. She proved to be clever and calculating, getting everything she ever wanted—someone else’s family... Sadie’s family.

Luna was the gasoline to Reid’s matches, leaving Sadie roasting in a pit-y party for one. 🔥 But now that the ashes have settled, Sadie is left out in the cold.🧊

One way or another, she will figure out what happened, why it happened, and who is responsible for everything that’s occurred. Can Scorned Sadie struggle back to the surface and reclaim her life, or will Lucky Luna continue to live la vida loca?

I can’t wait for the final installment on 4/20/26!

Thank you to Netgalley and the UK publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am enjoying this series. It is so easy to read, and I love the messy characters. It can be frustrating as characters overlook the obvious, but I like feeling something when I'm reading, so that doesn't bother me.

I definitely feel like the first book was more action packed, and I was on the edge of my seat much more reading that. This sequel felt like it was solely designed to tee up an explosive finale to the Trilogy, and not a lot actually happened. Although the events were necessary to do this, it could have been much shorter, perhaps a short story or novella to bridge a duology?

I still had a pretty good time though.

Wow I loved this book! I cannot wait for the next one to find out what happens!

Book 2 in The Hunt Family series and Sadie will stop at nothing to get her kids back. Luna is enjoying her new family life and can’t believe how well it’s going for her but she’s always looking over her shoulder because she knows her amazing family could be taken away from her in a heartbeat.

Another great Daniel Hurst read!

I know I said, in the review of the first book, that I wouldn't read the second right away but I lied. I needed to know. This is what happens when you start a thriller series. You NEED to know. And like Reid said: wow.
24 more days before the third book comes out. That is going to be long.

As I've received this as an ARC from NetGalley, I have decided to provide an in-depth review in spite of my being unable to finish this volume (I did read the first). All opinions are my own.

I read the first book, 'I Want Your Family', in order to move on to this one. I would have otherwise finished this, because the first was longer, and I could push through it. For this one, however, this one aspect of the book grew more and more frustrating to me during the first volume, and here it just pushed me to not be able to enjoy the experience of reading it anymore. And that would be the way women are treated and talked about. Allow me to elaborate further.

I wish I had more to say of this. What I can concede is that the plot was interesting. I would have loved to read a novel with the same plot, if the women were written with a bit more effort to truly understand how a woman's mind works. There is a reason we are capable of many great things, and it is not because we are quick to judge each other, pin a man's blames on one another,

What makes a good domestic thriller? Unhinged characters? Check. A storyline plucked straight from suburbia? Check. Terrifically toxic relationships and twisted motivations? All here. I Stole Your Family by Daniel Hurst delivers on every front, crafting a disturbing and utterly compelling exploration of what happens when envy and obsession spiral completely out of control.

At its core, this is a story about that age-old truth: we always want what we can’t have. But Hurst takes it one step further—what happens when we can have it? What happens when desire turns to action, when obsession becomes a plan, and when someone decides to take what they covet with absolutely no regard for the consequences? The answer is a dark, twisted road paved with manipulation and a stunning lack of conscience.

What makes this book so deliciously twisted is that Hurst gives us a bird’s-eye view of the madness from the very beginning. We know who the crazy players are. We see their true intentions, their manipulations, their complete lack of moral boundaries. And then we get to watch—with a mix of horror, entertainment and fascination—as they deceive each other, maneuvering and scheming while wearing masks of perfect normalcy.

These characters seem innocent enough on the surface. Their lives appear perfectly ordinary—maybe a little messy, slightly dysfunctional, but normal. Until they’re not. Until those everyday situations and mundane interactions reveal themselves to be strategic moves in a much darker game. With just the right amount of malice and manipulation sprinkled in, everything begins to unravel, and the careful facades they’ve constructed start to crack.

The structure of the book is expertly crafted, giving us a peek into each character’s thought process as they navigate their deceptions. This multi-perspective approach lets us see exactly how they’re playing each other, making the tension almost unbearable at times. The suspense comes not from wondering who is unhinged, but from watching the collision course unfold—wondering who will see through the lies first, who will make the fatal mistake, and whether anyone will escape the web of deceit they’ve all woven together.

The pacing is quick and propulsive, making this an easy book to devour in one sitting. And just when you think you know how it’ll all play out, Hurst hits you with a cliffhanger that’ll leave you reeling.

This is domestic thriller writing at its most fun and most unsettling—a twisted, entertaining ride that lets you witness the chaos unfold from the inside out.

First, I want to thank Daniel Hurst, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.

Many online have been raving about Daniel Hurst books yet I have not yet taken up on the opportunity to do so until now. I figured I would read I Stole Your Family as the cover captured my attention and so did the description of the book. What I did not realize is that it is part of The Hunt Family Series and this is the second book. Yes, It can be read as a standalone (which I did). However, I highly suggest reading I Want Your Family first as there were times I was a wee bit lost and wish I had read the first book. Now if you do decide to read this book and like it he does continue on to book three.

Straight away I couldn’t agree with Luna more!!! Family is definitely everything!!! Without them where would we be?! Unlike Luna I don’t think I would be dead or in prison lol! However, her family dynamic was way different than any family I know personally!!

Even though I did not read the first book (I was told that it could be read as a standalone) Daniel did a recap of the first book and did an update on where the characters were now. I was thankful that he did that.

My favorite storyline I think had to be Daragh’s. First off that was a very unique name as I had never heard/read that one before. Luna was on a mission to get the job done but something always kept getting in the way-I found that to be comical. However, I felt her guilt when her plan actually worked.

Needless to say there was a lot of family drama, secrets, jaw dropping revelations, twists and turns, etc.

I Stole Your Family is the riveting second installment in Daniel Hurst's new psychological thriller series, following the compelling debut, I Want Your Family. I wholeheartedly recommend reading these books in chronological order, as the events, relationships, and deep-seated conflicts established in the first book are absolutely crucial to understanding the narrative unfolding in this sequel. The anticipation for the series' conclusion is high, with the third and final book, The Happy Family, scheduled for release in March 2026.Continuing the Saga

Book two, I Stole Your Family, begins precisely where the first novel left off, immersing the reader immediately back into the tense, post-climax world of the main characters. The story intimately traces the lives and interwoven fates of Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma. Hurst masterfully continues to pull the threads of their complex, often fraught, relationships, showing the deep repercussions of the events that transpired previously. A Five-Star Read

As with every Daniel Hurst novel I have read, this one earns a resounding 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I am consciously choosing to keep the details of the plot minimal to avoid inadvertently spoiling the jaw-dropping revelations and groundwork laid out in I Want Your Family. The experience of reading the first book completely untainted is essential for the full impact of the series.Twists, Turns, and Character Depth

What I can confidently share is that I Stole Your Family is another intense journey characterized by moments of sudden, chilling realization and signature twists. While the twists in this particular novel didn't have the same monumental, earth-shattering effect on me as those in the first book—which essentially set the entire stage—they were still perfectly executed and integral to the continuing drama.

The true strength of this installment lies in the deeper exploration of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed continuing the story of Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma, observing the intricate, and sometimes destructive, ways their lives continue to play out and intertwine in the aftermath of past events.

My excitement is palpable for the final book, The Happy Family, to see how Daniel Hurst ultimately brings this intense saga to its conclusion.

Psychological thrillers thrive on moral ambiguity, and I Stole Your Family delivers exactly that, wrapped in domestic tension, obsession, and the unsettling idea that the most dangerous threats don’t come from strangers in the dark, but from people who want your life. A truly scary thought.
Daniel Hurst crafts a chilling story centered on envy taken to its extreme. The novel follows a woman who becomes fixated on another woman’s seemingly perfect family. What begins as admiration slowly mutates into obsession, then manipulation, and finally something far more sinister. Hurst excels at building that slow-burn descent, showing how rationalizations can snowball into devastating choices.
One of the book’s strongest elements is its narrative voice. The perspective pulls readers uncomfortably close to the protagonist’s thoughts, forcing us to understand, even when we don’t agree with her decisions. That intimacy creates tension far more powerful than dramatic action scenes. The povs from the other characters also do the same.
The horror here is psychological: watching boundaries erode, ethics blur, and self-justification take control.
The pacing is sharp and purposeful. Short chapters and well-timed revelations make the story difficult to put down. Just when you think you’ve predicted the outcome, Hurst introduces new emotional complications that shift the power dynamics between characters. The twists aren’t outrageous; they feel disturbingly plausible, which makes the story linger after reading.
Themes of insecurity, comparison, jealousy and the illusion of “perfect families” run beneath the surface. The novel quietly questions how much of what we envy is real and how dangerous it can be to measure our worth against someone else’s supposed happiness. In that sense, the book feels modern and relevant, tapping into anxieties that many readers will recognize, especially in current times with the mask of social media being so prevalent.

Overall, I Stole Your Family is a gripping domestic thriller that combines emotional depth with page-turning suspense. It’s ideal for readers who enjoy morally complex narrators and stories that explore the darker corners of desire and identity. Fans of twist-driven psychological dramas will find this a compelling and unsettling read.

Title: I Stole your Family
Author: Daniel Hurst
Series: The Hunt Family Book #2
Publisher: Bookouture
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Pub Date: March 20, 2026
My Rating: 4 Stars
Pages: 286
Story is told from the POV of Luna, Sadie, and Reid.
It picks up from where I Want Your Family left off. In fact, if you haven’t read it is best to do so as you need to know and get a better understand of Luna and the twisted way she manipulated Reid and Sadie as well as their children.
Luna has convinces herself that she's deserves her new life - yet she is fearful it will all be taken away from her. She decides the best way to insure her new life is to get rid of her old life to the point of committing murder.

Sadie is very depressed without the children - they were taken away from her when failed a breathalyzer test when it was reported her had been drinking and was picked up her children from school. Surely evil Luna had something to do with that as it isn’t something Sophie would do. She is now living with her parents in their rental as their home had been destroyed by fire. Who do YOU think had something to do with that? As you have guessed surely not Gemma who was found guilty and is in prison. (Gemma was introduced in Book #1 a coworker of Reid’s - well she was more!)
Sophie is finally snapping out of her depression as she now has a goal to prove that Luna is evil as well as a liar.

It was a quick read and, of course, I am ready for Book #3.
I do really wish this wasn’t a trilogy.

I am a big Danny fan. He is an entertaining writer; this is my thirty-second thriller! I am always ready to read what his next story as I am curious what his group of psychos will have in store for me!

𝑰 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏, 𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕, 𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒖𝒈𝒆.

Book two opens right where book one, I WANT YOUR FAMILY, left off. D0n't even think about reading this one until you've read the first one. Luna has deviously manipulated, twisted, and coerced her way into becoming the matriarch of the family she's desperately wanted after successfully getting Sadie out of the way. She convinces herself that she's deserving of the warmth and safety she’s found. But that comfort comes with a constant edge of fear, because she knows it could all be taken away in an instant. Someone is watching her, waiting for her to slip, and the unsettling question hangs over every page: what happens when the life you built was once someone else’s?

This was such an addictive reading experience, fueled by paranoia and the sense that nothing is as secure as it looks. I kept turning pages, feeling that tight domestic tension that Daniel Hurst does so well. You can feel the pressure building as the past refuses to stay buried. Told in alternating points of view, Luna's desperation to hold onto her “dream” life makes her deeply unreliable and unstable. Reid's chapters made me hate him even more than I did before, and Sadie's chapters gave me someone to root for.

This sequel was fast, twisty, and unsettling in the way a good domestic thriller should be, with enough emotional stakes to keep you invested beyond the shock factor. While a few elements required a bit of suspension of disbelief, the pacing and tension more than made up for it. If you enjoy stories about obsession and and the fragile illusion of the perfect family, this one is an easy, compulsive read, and best of all? There is another book coming! So many thanks to Bookouture for this early copy that publishes March 20, 2026.

**Warning: Do NOT read this review if you haven't read the first book in the series- I Want Your Family**

Another smashing and absorbing read from Daniel Hurst, he always delivers every single time. I would even go as far to say that this second book is even better than the first one in the series. A much deserved 5 star rating.

You can’t go around stealing people’s families…. or can you?!
It's a year since Luna charmed her way into the Hunt’s family life, house and into Reid Hunter’s bed. She is living on cloud nine, however her life with Reid and his children is built on a very shaky foundation of lies, manipulation and deceit. Sadie, Reid’s ex-wife, is utterly devastated after losing her children and home and cannot figure out where things all went so terribly wrong in her life. However, is Luna in over her head? And has she seriously underestimated Sadie's desire and strength to get to the truth and then ultimately get her children back?!

I was so desperate to get to the second book in this series after reading the first and it certainly did not disappoint. Similar to the first book I loved the multiple POV’s, and also loved hearing Reid’s POV- even if I did think he was extremely gullible at times, however I guess that’s easy for me, as a reader, to say knowing all the characters and what they were getting up to. I adored Sadie’s character development during this book, she definitely started to find her gumption, and I absolutely loved her for that. I found the storyline gripping and difficult to put down and was thinking about the book when not reading (always the sign of a good book for me) and found myself often eager to get back to it to see what Luna was up to next and what metaphorical firefighting she was having to do to maintain all her lies.

All in all, the second book in the series was all I hoped for and more. I am so excited for book 3 and can’t wait to get to it. Another brilliant series from the talented Daniel Hurst. The book deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating from me.

Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out 20th March 2026.

She manifested the perfect family... but they weren't hers to take. When we rejoin the Hunt family, Luna has taken her rightful place in her dream home, with her dream family. Unfortunately, Luna still has work to do if she wants to prevent her dreams from becoming a nightmare. Sadie's life is far from perfect. After losing her home and her kids, she's become the drunk that the courts thought she was. She's living in a rental with her parents, relying on them to play chauffeur due to her DWI conviction. Sadie wants her family back... Luna will do anything to ensure that never happens.

I think I loved this book even more than the first. My only complaints about I Want Your Family were that it lacked big plot twists and that some parts felt a bit slow. I Stole Your Family had twists and turns I never saw coming and it was non-stop action and suspense until the very last word. I stand by what I said in my first review... for the most part. Reid and Luna were still about 80% unlikable but both had redeeming qualities. That said, I liked Sadie significantly more in this book. In the first, Sadie was as unlikable as Reid and Luna. We started this book and I cringed because she got worse instead of better... but there was a turning point. A moment when I realized I was rooting for Sadie and Luna. I can say without hesitation that by the middle of the second book, Sadie was no longer a pushover.

My only problem now is that I have no idea how I want this series to move forward. I've grown attached to Sadie and; while Luna is certifiable, I do want Luna to be happy. From the beginning, I wanted Reid to get what he deserved and honestly, I still do. This one's a Read It friends, but you might want to wait until April because you'll finish this book and want to start the next one immediately!

Note: I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Daniel Hurst delivers another compulsively readable psychological thriller with I Stole Your Family, a story that wastes no time pulling readers into a web of secrets, obsession, and dangerous ambition.

The novel centers on a woman who appears to have the perfect life: a loving partner, beautiful children, and a comfortable home filled with warmth and laughter. But beneath the polished surface lies a truth she’s desperate to keep buried. The life she now calls her own once belonged to someone else—and that someone isn’t willing to let it go quietly.

Hurst excels at creating narrators whose reliability is always in question, and this story thrives on that tension. From the opening chapters, readers are forced to ask: who is the real villain here? The woman protecting her new life at all costs, or the person determined to reclaim what was taken from her?

The pacing is relentless, with short chapters that make it nearly impossible to stop reading. Each reveal raises new questions, layering manipulation, jealousy, and desperation in ways that keep the story constantly shifting. Just when you think you understand the characters’ motivations, another twist reframes everything.

What makes the novel especially gripping is the emotional undercurrent beneath the suspense. At its core, the story explores identity, insecurity, and the lengths people will go to protect the life they believe they deserve. The protagonist’s fear of losing everything creates a constant sense of unease that lingers throughout the book.

Fans of domestic suspense will appreciate Hurst’s signature style—sharp plotting, morally gray characters, and shocking twists that land with precision. The final act delivers exactly what thriller readers crave: revelations that force you to rethink everything that came before.

Dark, addictive, and impossible to put down, I Stole Your Family is the kind of thriller that keeps you turning pages long past bedtime.

I Stole Your Family by Daniel Hurst

This series has completely hooked me.

What makes this book work isn’t just suspense. It’s curiosity. I wasn’t reading on the edge of my seat as much as I was constantly thinking, how is this going to unravel? The shifting perspectives between Luna, Sadie, and Reid keep the tension tight and the story moving.

Luna continues to be one of the most fascinating characters I’ve read in a psychological thriller. She is manipulative, calculating, and always several steps ahead. You do not root for her, but you cannot look away. I found myself more stunned by what she was capable of than angry at her. Watching her control the narrative and convince everyone around her that she is the reasonable one is unsettling in the best way.

Sadie’s journey in this installment adds a different kind of tension. As pieces begin to fall into place, the story shifts from who did it to who will act first. That change raises the stakes in a way that feels intense without being over the top.

The ending absolutely left me needing the next book immediately. It closes just enough to satisfy you, but leaves the door wide open for what comes next.

If you enjoy fast paced psychological thrillers with morally complex characters and multiple perspectives, this one delivers.

I Stole Your Family is another gripping, twist‑heavy domestic thriller from Daniel Hurst—one that hooks you immediately with its unsettling premise and keeps tightening the tension as the truth unravels. Hurst excels at exploring the darker corners of relationships, and this story of a woman clinging fiercely to the perfect life she’s built is both compulsive and deliciously unnerving.

The narrator’s voice is wonderfully sharp: proud of the home she’s created, fiercely protective of her partner and children, and constantly aware that everything she loves could be snatched away. That simmering paranoia gives the book its pulse. You can feel her scanning the edges of her world for threats, especially the one woman who has every reason to want her life back.

Hurst plays brilliantly with shifting power, blurred morality, and the question of who really deserves the life being fought over. The tension builds steadily as secrets surface and motives twist, and the sense of someone watching—waiting for the perfect moment to strike—keeps the pages turning fast.

As always, the twists land with impact. Just when you think you’ve settled into the rhythm of the story, Hurst pulls the rug out from under you in a way that feels both shocking and inevitable. The final stretch is especially satisfying, delivering that signature jaw‑drop moment fans will be expecting.

A fast, addictive psychological thriller about obsession, reinvention, and the dangerous lengths people will go to protect the life they believe they deserve. Perfect for readers who love domestic suspense with sharp edges and big reveals.

I Stole Your Family by Daniel Hurst is the second book in the series, and honestly? I am not okay.

This story dives straight in where I Want Your Family left off, and the tension is instant. There’s no warm-up, no slow burn — just immediate chaos, paranoia, and that constant feeling that everything is about to explode.

One of my favourite parts was the character development. Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma feel even more layered, messy, and unpredictable in this book. The mind games are intense, the suspense is relentless, and the anxiety is genuinely palpable. I caught myself holding my breath more than once.

The pacing is ridiculously fast. It’s one of those books where “just one more chapter” becomes a full-blown lie, and suddenly you’re at the end wondering where the time went. The twists might not hit quite as explosively as in the first book, but they’re still sharp, clever, and perfectly timed, adding layer after layer to the drama.

And then… the ending.

That cliffhanger?
Unhinged.
Unacceptable.
Emotionally rude.

I actually stared at my Kindle in disbelief. I refuse to believe he ended it like that and expects us to function normally.

If you love psychological thrillers packed with tension, toxic dynamics, emotional warfare, and brutal twists, this series is an absolute must-read. I am fully invested and completely unprepared for the emotional damage book three is about to deliver.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author of the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story is about Luna, a woman who has done terrible things to get what she wants... another woman's family. This book is set around Luna finally getting what she thinks she deserves: a boyfriend, a nice house, two children, and new job title of housewife. However, Luna's secrets seem to be unraveling. Who has discovered the things that she has done? And who threatening to take Luna from where she thinks she belongs?

After discovering I was reading book 2 of the series, I was initially worried I wouldn’t be able to follow along without having read the first installment. However, the author did an excellent job including details from prior events so this book could be read as a stand alone.

While I appreciated being brought up to speed, the references to past events began to feel a bit repetitive. Once I was able to piece together the back story, I didn’t need multiple reminders of what had previously happened.

I do like that the book was told through multiple perspectives, however, the husband’s point of view fell flat for me and didn’t add much to the overall narrative. I would have rather had more POV from Sadie and/or Luna.

I enjoyed this book overall. It was a moderately paced thriller, with a decent story line, but I found it missing the twists and turns I crave. I never caught myself gasping, my jaw never dropped, and nothing truly blindsided me. It ends on a cliffhanger, but I’m not entirely sure how quickly I’ll be reaching for the next book in the series.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced reading copy!

The second instalment in the Hunt Family series, I Stole Your Family is a twisty, addictive thriller told through multiple POVs, and it's a page turner!

At the centre of the story is Luna, Reid’s new girlfriend, and she is something else. Once a parcel delivery driver to the Hunt family home, she has quite literally inserted herself into Sadie’s life, and completely taken it over. She’s smug, calculating, and completely unhinged. She's the kind of character who will stop at absolutely nothing to get what she wants. And yes, that includes killing anyone who gets in her way.

Then we have Sadie, who is a shadow of her former self. Down on her luck, she’s back living with her parents and slipping into old teenage habits, messy room included. But beneath that is something far more heartbreaking: she’s lost her children, her home, and her sense of purpose. Watching her struggle, while desperately trying to piece together who destroyed her life, adds a strong emotional pull to the story. Was it her husband? Or someone else with a grudge, like an ex-mistress?

Reid sits right in the middle of it all, and you’re never quite sure what to think of him. Is he genuinely caught in the chaos, or is he part of the problem? As suspicion grows and tensions rise, the story weaves a tangled web where no one fully trusts anyone else.

The pacing is sharp, the POV shifts keep things fresh, and the tension builds steadily as secrets begin to unravel. Will Sadie uncover the truth before it’s too late?
