A nice little book of short stories It is very evocative and strongly of its time in the settings, but possibly not in terms of perceived attitudes of the 1920s and 30s which, rather unexpectedly unless you know anything of the author, is very thought provoking.

the use of language is pretty careful i like the passage the jungle. pretty nice
