Knox Stone is the one man I hate to want. He’s moody... Controlling... Goes out of his way to make my life miserable when we’re together. He also saved me that night. He’s the only one who knows my darkest secret. The one person my body feels safe with and craves. The only one who can set me free from the monster who still haunts me.
Knox
Savi Montgomery has always been the one light in my constant darkness. She’s my best friend’s younger sister. The one girl I want, but can never have. Hating me is safer than believing I can give her more. She may think I’m her savior, but all I do is destroy. One touch from her and I lose all control. She makes me feel less broken... Less shattered... Now that I’ve got a taste of her, I don’t think I have the strength to let her go.
When I agree to help her break free of her past, I never expect to be set free from mine.
Sophia Belle is an author of Contemporary Romances. She loves writing about small-town romances where the guys have boy-next-door qualities but turn up the spice in the bedroom. Her dirty-talking, possessive, golden retrievers at heart—fall hard and love even harder.
When she's not writing, you can find her boating with her family on the weekends, enjoying the beaches, homeschooling their youngest, and going on fun group dates with their friends. She lives in Florida with her husband, three children, and two golden retrievers, and yes, Mimi and Papaw live above the garage, just like in the book.
A note from Sophia:
One night, I dreamed about the characters from Connected by Souls. I woke up in the middle of the night, opened my laptop, and started writing. I have always been an avid reader, but I had no clue what I was doing. I was having so much fun writing that I told myself if I only did this for my eyes, it would be enough because it brought me so much joy.
Before I knew it, I had an entire novel sitting in front of me. A novel I cried and laughed with while sitting in the dark by myself, typing away in the still of the night. A story I knew needed to be shared with others.
I've opened up this whole creative world that I didn't know existed inside me, and I never want it to end. Writing has given me something I can own outside of being a mom. A sense of accomplishment and joy that I didn't know was missing.
I look forward to beginning my journey as an author, and I’m excited to connect with my readers on a deeper level. I've put my heart and soul into what I write, and my wish for you is to feel connected to my characters as much as I do.
As always Sophia continues to create worlds that I never want to leave! The Bayside Bolts are going to be one hell of a Hockey Team I will be cheering for all the way to the end.
To start this series Sophia gives us Knox Stone, the grumpy captain who has a chip on his shoulder and his best friend’s little sister, Savi Montgomery, who has always shone way too bright for his dark world.
Watch these two fight their feels and try their damndest to cover their attraction with all the hate in the world. But remember it’s a VERY FINE line between love and hate 😉🔥🔥
There is a lot for these two to come from, and check your triggers. These two had some hard situations happen while growing up, and that trauma has a last impression. What’s interesting to see and watch is how different people let their trauma affect them, and not always does the darkness have to consume you. You can be the narrator of your story, you just have ti take control.
I also loved how Sophia set us up for the rest of this series. You got all of Savi and Knox’s story but we also got to see inside this team and what’s coming for us. I’ve already claimed dibs on the goalie 🤭
Get ready for your next brothers best friend/best friends sister romance. Hockey romance at that!
Meet Knox Stone, sexy, single, cocky hockey captain of the Bayside Bolts. He has a troubled past, lost a parent at a young age and doesn’t do relationships..
Meet Savannah Montgomery, gorgeous, brilliant, single veterinarian. She has the best family, best parents, FOUR older brothers; everything a girl could want.. however, she is also holding some trauma from her past. Trauma that only one person knows about..
Knox and Savi will take you on a roller coaster of emotions.. a magnetic pull will have you screaming, crying, wanting to throw up, wanting you to slap a character; all the things you could feel in a book, you’ve got it.
I love every single one of Sophia’s characters and their partners but these two… these two give a whole new meaning to soul mates. You can feel the tension. You can feel the passion.
The banter in this book is fantastic. Be ready for laughs, tears, OMG moments, and if this is not your first Sophia Belle read, be sure to watch for those Easter eggs she likes to give us!
Stay on the watch for the next Bayside Bolts book coming later in 2026! I for one, cannot wait after this one!!
•Brothers best friend •Best friends sister •Small town romance •Hockey romance •Childhood trauma •Contemporary Romance
This is book 1 in Sophia Belle’s new Bayside Bolts hockey series and it DELIVERED!!!
I am head over heels in love with Knox and Savi’s relationship! 🩷
Savi is the only sister to four older brothers, so I had no doubt that the girl could hold her own and give it right back to anyone who messed with her and boy did she!! She is probably my favorite of Sophia Belle’s FMCs… well she may tie with Olivia! She was fiesty and witty and kept me giggling with her snarky responses!
And Knox freaking Stone! 😮💨 The mouth and body on this man, gah! Where do I find me a sexy hockey captain?! And his teammates?! Gah I cannot wait for their books.
Sophia Belle delivered the perfect hockey romance book. She gave us the perfect amount of actual hockey playing, spice, and love! Mmmm, I cannot wait for everyone to read this book!
Seriously though, you are going to want to read this series! 🩷🖤
I received an ARC, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Sophia Belle has been teasing this book for a long time — and let me tell you, she edges her readers flawlessly. But the second I heard “broken boy”? I was locked in.
I love that trope. Because when it’s done right, healing doesn’t come from someone magically fixing you. It comes from choosing to put yourself back together — usually because someone makes you want to. And that’s exactly what happens here.
Knox and Savannah (Savi) have known each other nearly their entire lives. When Knox gets traded from his team in New York back to his hometown, he knows it’s only a matter of time before he runs into his best friend’s little sister. He’s tired of living out of hotels, even if he could absolutely afford a place. He’s just… not ready. So Miles suggests he stay at Savi’s house.
And the second that arrangement is suggested? You just know.
Then we meet Savannah — a veterinarian (which we love, strong career queens always win). She comes home, lays eyes on Knox in her house, and the tension is immediate. But this isn’t some secret-longing, childhood-crush trope.
This is deeper.
They share hurt. They share trauma. They share a history that shaped them both. Their bond isn’t built on past romance — it’s built on surviving something together.
Savannah is determined to take her power back. And the only person she feels truly safe with is Knox. Even when he’s gruff. Even when he’s a little bit of a jerk.
And on the flip side? Knox may love her brothers — but Savi is the one his soul recognizes as safe.
This book deals with heavy topics. There are hard conversations. Traumatic memories. Real-life scenarios that don’t feel dramatized for effect. Sophia handles it with care, and that’s what makes it stand out. It’s not just another hockey romance — it’s layered and emotional.
But it’s not all heavy. The teammate antics? Hilarious. The sister-in-law chaos? Also hilarious.
The balance makes the book feel like a warm cup of coffee — comforting, grounding, and quietly powerful.
And the way she sets up book two? RUDE. Perfectly rude.
Honestly, discovering authors like Sophia through social media is one of my favorite things about being in this space. I hadn’t read her backlist before this — and now I’m fully aware I’ve been missing out.
This might be one of my top reads of the year. Emotional. Real. Healing.
Go read it — and then tell me you didn’t fall for Knox just a little
Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC 📚 4.5 ⭐️'s - please goodreads let us have half stars 🙏 Okayyy... lots to unpack with this read... my first read by Sophia and I was impressed I have to say! I was slightly alarmed that we seemed to be all good by 60% ish - how much more of the story did we need but the rest of the book didnt disappoint 👌 Here comes the trope list as long as your arm... 🏒 hockey player playboy mmc 🐱 vetinarian fmc 👀 man obsessed 🙊 secret tattoo 🤭 brothers best friend 🪞 mirror scene 📱 text threads 👎 enemies to lovers 🩷 heartbreaking past for both characters 🥰 emotional healing for both characters 🫶 found family Knox and Savi hate eachother, he is best friends with her brother and is the only one who knows her secret. Knox has a difficult past too making him feel he is incapable of love. Except they don't hate eachother at all, he is obsessed with her and she wants him just as bad. Once the pair finally give in the spice is to die for 🔥 but as the pair battle through their demons can they let go of the past? Delicious found family and girl group along with lots of emotional healing and a lovely HEA 🫶 That car scene will live in my head rent free 🥵🥵
I love a good hockey romance series and it looks like this is going to be the beginning of an interconnected standalone series with the Bayside Bolts. Shattered is a brothers best friend/best friends little sister romance. Knox is the new team captain of the Bolts. He is a big time player, moody and his only focus is hockey. Sophia is the vet that has always been his sunshine even when she didn't know it. They share a dark secret that keeps them connected. There is great banter, amazing chemistry and the spice is hot! We slowly get introduced to the rest of the team. Looking forward to seeing what the other Bolts have in store for us.
