About the author

Suzy Kline, nee Weaver, was an elementary school teacher for 25 years and most of her books are based on the experiences she had while teaching. Suzy and Rufus got married and had two daughters named Jennifer and Emily. Now, more than 24 years after writing her first book, Suzy has traveled all over the United States helping children learn how to enjoy reading and writing.

We got this at the Must See Oregon showcase where they promoted SMART and SKEF so it was a free book, read half of it on the car ride home and the rest when I got home. The second page in the book talks about Pudding River, OR and I was passing it as I read this book! It doesn't get crazier than that. Obviously it is meant for younger readers but I was pleasantly surprised at how funny it was. Thin plot and not much story development but for a younger reader I think they would enjoy it. A little too much focus on the middle school romance scene but when I thought about it I was totally boy crazy in 6th/7th grade so maybe it isn't that far off!
