This book was not bad just got really boring at times. I honestly lost my interest. It just wasn’t interesting to me about halfway through the book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I am convinced at this point that Christina Hagmann could write literally anything and I would read it. She has such a fun, addictive writing style that the minute I start one of her books I already know I’m probably not going to put it down. And yep… that’s exactly what happened here. I sat down with this book and read the whole thing in one sitting because I simply could not stop.
What I love about Christina’s writing is how effortless it feels. The pacing moves quickly, the dialogue is sharp and funny, and the characters always feel full of personality. There’s this energy in her stories that just pulls you along and makes the reading experience genuinely fun. It never feels heavy or slow. Instead it feels like the story is racing forward and you’re just happily along for the ride.
The characters in this book were easily one of my favorite parts. They had so much personality and charm that I found myself smiling through a lot of the scenes. The interactions between the characters felt natural and entertaining, and there’s a playful tone throughout the story that makes it stand out from a lot of other paranormal or vampire stories. It never takes itself too seriously, which made it even more enjoyable to read.
And Dominic… honestly he completely stole the show for me. He is pure chaotic vampire energy in the best possible way. There’s something about characters like that who bring a little unpredictability into every scene they’re in. You never quite know what they’re going to say or do next, and that made every moment with him feel entertaining. He was messy, dramatic, chaotic, and somehow still completely lovable. I absolutely adored him.
Another thing Christina does really well is creating a world that feels lively and entertaining without bogging the reader down with too much information. The supernatural elements, the vampire aspects, and the overall setting all felt immersive without ever slowing down the story. Everything just flows naturally and keeps the momentum going.
What really stood out to me while reading this was how much fun I was having. Sometimes you pick up a book expecting a quick entertaining read and it ends up feeling average. This one delivered exactly what I hoped for and more. It was funny, chaotic, charming, and completely bingeable.
By the time I finished the final page I realized I had read the entire thing without even thinking about stopping. That’s always the best sign for me that a book really worked. When a story can grab your attention that completely and keep you turning pages without effort, you know the author did something right.
Christina Hagmann continues to be one of those authors where if I see her name on a book, I’m picking it up. No questions asked.

I really thought this was a fun read! The chapter titles are so clever and there were parts that had me laughing out loud (the kitchen scene with Sarah's hookup, anyone?). This book made me want to run to KU to see what else is available by the author.
The story was fast paced, the characters were engaging. The plot was unique to others I've read in the past, with the Coven and the Union and their relationship with the other. There wasn't a whole lot of smut, which would be appealing to those who like a paranormal romance but not so much smut.
The ending of the story left me wondering if we'll get a sequel that brings more of what happens with our characters after the new system in place. Fingers crossed, we do.

As a reader who loves reading anything about vampires, I had a feeling I would like this book. I actually LOVED it. I love a book that can give you great banter and make something that usually isn’t funny turn out funny. Imagine a coming of age story wrapped into a vampire story that gives you a look behind the scenes of what vampire life could be like. Choosing between the stalkerish vampire who turned you and the vampire hunter who you are extremely attracted to is definitely a mind bending experience!!! I liked this author’s way of telling the story with her character development!!! Definitely would recommend this one !!!

This was such a fun book to read!
Set in a modern world where vampires are still ruling their own with ancient rules and regulations and taking down anyone who threatens their authority.
The characters were so refreshing. Allie was real and relatable after being turned into a vampire without her (or the covens) consent. And Dominic he was toxic, morally grey and stuck in his 200 year old ways but I really was lowkey rooting for him the whole book. And of course Marcus the knight in shining armor.
This book was very easy to get into and keep me interested! Thank you booksirens and Christina for this ARC!

I've read the majority of Hagmann's books and they never fail to entertain. One of my favorites from her is the vampire trilogy, Chasing Light, Chasing Darkness, and Chasing Death, partly because she was able to spend more time developing the main characters, the plotline, and the worldbuilding. But it was also because she made me care about the world. Another favorite was a fairly recent novella, Field of Frights. This one was much lighter and less horror-filled, but a lot of fun. Allie is a huge wallflower who is used to being overlooked, until she unwisely decides to go home with a stranger (yes, I can live a little!) and wakes up next to a coffin and learns that she's been changed into a vampire. What follows is days of trying to figure out the new world, and why Dominic changed her into a vampire without her consent, although he views it as saving her from her mundane life of no one noticing her (yeah, everyone notices her now). Then there's Marcus, the vampire hunter who wants to save her from Dominic, and you can see the love triangle developing right away. And yet, despite that being a significant part of the story, it really wasn't the main point. I like that Allie discovers her own power, autonomy, and the ability to shape her own life, as well as ensuring that others in her position will be able to do so as well. This was so not the stereotypical vampire story, which I loved and I ended up reading through most of it in one sitting. This was great fun and I would recommend it as a great introduction to Hagman's ability to craft a novella. While I sometimes wish she would write longer novels, I find that I have a hard time putting her novellas down. If you're looking for a quick read, a palate cleanser, or a unique spin on the old vampire romance story, I recommend you give this a whirl.

This story is billed as a paranormal romance comedy. Each person decides how funny it is, but I found it mildly amusing with the witty phrases, with one good scene I loved. Poor Allie is the wingman, wallflower, and shrinking violet in any story, but one bar drink too many leads to a regretful evening that turns her into a night owl. The vampire who turns her, Dominic, is a bleeding heart in search of women to save from their dour lives, and he is just as needy. Unfortunately, he is also controlling and condescending… and under a vampire council set of dictates.
Every vampire who survives must do the jobs assigned by Celeste and her council. Failure means true death, but Allie has never succeeded at anything. Faced with murder and spying, she is understandably reluctant.
Enter her other savior: Marcus the vampire slayer. He likes her. He wants to save himself and her at the same time, by burning the world down (you’ll see). Again, no one is thinking perfectly clearly.
THE ROMANCE:
Let me say, the romance is not the dominant plot element. It’s a save the world or save ourselves situation, so I think this is more plot-driven with a strong romantic subtheme. For me, that made the story better.

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars – Chaos, Fangs, and Literal Coffin-Side Manners
First, thank you to Christina Hagmann & BookSirens for an ARC e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. The verdict is.... I absolutely loved this book! From page one, I was completely hooked and ended up devouring the whole thing in one sitting!
The Vibe
If you’re looking for a "vampire romance," let’s be clear: this is a rom-com where the emphasis is heavily on the com. It’s less about the smolder and much more about the laugh-out-loud absurdity of being undead.
The Main Character
Allie is a total breath of fresh air. Her brain runs a thousand miles an hour, and her internal monologue is a repository of sarcastic, hilarious analogies. She is chaotic, witty, and deeply relatable—even when she’s waking up next to a coffin and realizing her life has taken a very permanent, very pale, turn.
The Plot
The story itself is actually surprisingly solid. It’s not just jokes; it’s a fast-paced journey of a "baby vampire" trying to navigate the dangerous (and often annoying) worlds of vampires and hunters all while trying to keep her moral compass intact while craving blood. She manages to piss off the stuffy, ancient vampires in charge & has to finally own who and what, she has become.
Final Thoughts
This was my first introduction to Christina Hagman’s writing, and I’m officially a fan. It was a fast, fun read that didn't take itself too seriously but still kept me invested in the story. Even though this is technically part of a series, it works perfectly as a standalone and you can bet I’m going back to check out Book 1 now!

Hagmann is no stranger to writing books about vampires, but I think this may be her most successful turn yet. With Revamp, she subverts the actions and expectations of the young woman who finds herself entangled in the secret world of vampires...because she's become one.
The story starts the morning after Allie's unwitting transformation into a vampire and just keeps rolling from there. Yes, there are brooding vampire men and a love triangle of sorts, but that all takes a backseat to Allie's internal monologue, which is asking "what is going on???" most of the time--and makes for some great humor while she's at it. There were quite a few lines that actually had me laughing out loud as I read (my favorite was when Allie drinks blood for the first time and loves it, and she says, "I think I just failed a moral test"). The lighthearted tone definitely makes Revamp stand out from the crowd.
However, I do wish the plot stayed in the supernatural romcom territory throughout the entire story. Once Allie and Marcus started delving into vampire politics and plotting to take down the Coven, the tone shifted back toward that of Hagmann's other vampire-centric books, and it was a bit tedious to get through the last quarter or so. I also felt that a lot of Allie's self-deprecating thoughts and comedic turns of phrase were getting repetitive (especially the ones put in quotations in the narration).
Still, Revamp is an easy, fun read and a nice change of pace from the darker vampire stories out there.

Revamp is a fun take on the classic vampire love story.
I loved that Dominic, the vampire that turns Allie, is ultimately portrayed as manipulative and is not the person Allie ends up with. Throwing in Marcus as a vampire hunter love interest had me hooked from the get go.
I happen to be reading Dracula for the first time while reading this and it’s so fun to see where the author draws inspiration from the really classic vampires. Overall, this book was engaging and fun and the chapter titles were all a joy!
All of that being said, I do feel like everything felt a bit rushed. There’s a lot of action packed into 250 pages. It honestly seems like it should have been a series instead of just one book focusing on these events. I think we could have had an entire book on Allie becoming a vampire and slowly realizing that Dominic is maybe not the romantic hero we’ve come to expect.
I’m also not a huge fan of the ending where everything wraps up perfectly with a huge pretty bow. Ultimately this read was worth the time I spent reading it and I definitely enjoyed myself!

Revamp was a nice, easy read. Unfortunately, I did not like Allie as much as I wanted to. She had great moments and I enjoyed watching her character growth. Honestly, I thought she deserved better from the male leads in the book. I think she could have really come into her own more and I really questioned how much she let other people run her life. That being said, I liked her sense of humor and she even echoed some of my own thoughts about her situation.

I also did not love the shift away from supernatural romance into sudden politics in the last quarter of the book. It felt like a strange shift in narrative that didn't quite match the overall vibe of the book.
Overall, the book was a nice break from the traditional vampire romance books I've read before. The story was enjoyable and I would recommend to others if they're looking for something a little different.

Revamp was a nice, easy read. Unfortunately, I did not like Allie as much as I wanted to. She had great moments and I enjoyed watching her character growth. Honestly, I thought she deserved better from the male leads in the book. I think she could have really come into her own more and I really questioned how much she let other people run her life. That being said, I liked her sense of humor and she even echoed some of my own thoughts about her situation.

A fun, fast-paced vampire x vampire sire x hunter love triangle with strong Ali Hazelwood humour vibes. If you enjoyed Hot for Slayer, this sits in a similar lane, just lighter on the spice.
The story follows a newly turned vampire trying to navigate the chaos of her new undead life while getting pulled into messy vampire politics and an increasingly complicated romantic situation involving both her sire and a hunter.
What really makes this one work is the tone. It’s quick, witty, and self-aware, with plenty of humour balancing the darker vampire elements. The coming-of-age angle also lands well as the FMC figures out who she is now that everything about her world has changed.
Add in some interesting vampire lore, power dynamics, and a love triangle that definitely keeps things entertaining, and you’ve got a really fun paranormal romance.

So- I loved parts of this book and didn't so much love other parts. It felt rushed and unfinished, but the parts that were written, were done well. The characters were interesting- except Dominic- he was underdeveloped.
This was funny and fun and a fascinating concept- just needs a little bit more development in certain areas. The first three weeks of vampire life for example, and basically everything that happens after she meets Elena- those are the areas that would really make the book great- if they were fully developed.
Additionally, the book is written in third person, but the chapter titles are written in first person- so that's a little confusing.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book, I just would've enjoyed it more had it been fully developed. It was a quick read, but really should've been longer to fully tell the story it needed to tell.

I just had so much fun!! This had me giggling from the jump. Allie is hilarious in such a dry, sarcastic, says whatever comes to her brain immediately way. This was such a refreshing take on a traditional vampire romance, with a FMC that actually used her brain and questioned wtf was going on. I will say this moves quickly and was very insta-love with no real supporting reason, but I say that with love because I really just wanted so much more depth from the couple (note: this is not spicy, so keep that in mind if that’s what you’re looking for). Overall, I had a great time and if you love yourself a vampire romance, would recommend!

First thing I’m going to mention is whilst this is book 2 in a series, it is a stand alone book where you don’t need to have read book 1.
This is a fun romp of a book that begins with Allie getting turned into a vampire. The story follows her transition from human to creature of the (almost) night.
This book is easy and fun to read, with a well developed story.
I started reading it and got so engrossed that I looked up and realised the sun had set and I’d almost finished the book.
Pride and prejudice, it’s not, but what it is, is a story of self discovery walled into a paranormal rom com. The humour is laugh out loud at times.
So two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.

I enjoyed this take on vampires and what happens when a quiet girl is turned and what happens next. Allie was a hoot and her inner monologues were funny and gave me a new view of vampires. Overall a hilarious story and a wild ending. Poor Allie has to make decisions that led to a good story. Enjoyed it. I admit Allie's interactions with vampires did make me laugh and want to stake a few but made for a fun read. A good story about choices and consequences and what to do when life goes sideways, vampire style.

Revamp by Christina Hagmann was a great palate cleanser for me! The main characters Allie, Dominic and Marcus were so well thought out, albeit Allie was a little tiresome and so were the two MMCs, but it may have been part of their personalities that Ms Haggman created.
I literally laughed out loud multiple times! I love when a book can do that.
I don’t know what would have made me rate this 5 stars, maybe Allie being less insufferable and wishy washy. 3.5 ⭐️ rounded up to a 4 ⭐️ from this reader.

I thought this was such a delicious read. Written with sassy and snarky tongue in cheek humor and just great fun. Easy reading at a nice pace with clever chapter headings that point the way to what is coming at you. There is romance taking place which is tastefully done and behind closed doors, so to speak. Just a load of great entertainment.

I absolutely loved this novel! This was my favorite read so far by author Christina Hagmann. It was action packed, funny, and also had some paranormal romance too. I loved the main character Allie, she is so funny! The very first chapter heading hooks you, "Why is there a coffin in this apartment?" If you liked Twilight and the Seattle setting you will love this book as much as I did.

it was highly entertaining! i was laughing through most parts of the book as it was very light and very comical. i love the female lead. she's quite the character and she and i share some personality traits that make reading this so involving. it was a very quick read and i basically just sat and devoured it.
