When Annie and Wallace move to an island just off the coast of New Hampshire, they solve a mystery that has been puzzling the local residents for a long time.
I found this old book at my grandmother's house, and figured I should give it a try. I figured it could also use some love here on goodreads; it seems to have been forgotten. It's a short chapter book, good for young readers, maybe second or third grade. The language is a little old fashioned, but not bad. The story is first person pov of an eight year old girl who, along with her brother and friend, attempts to solve a mystery. Who is stealing lobsters from the local fishermen's traps? Unfortunately, the mystery is not really a mystery as there is only one suspect and no red herrings or misdirects or any sort of story complications whatsoever. Oh well. On the other hand, the book has several illustrations, and I was surprised at how good they were. They really are lovely, expressive little pictures. There should have been more of them.
