Forget Me Naut: A paranormal MMF tentacle shifter romance

Rate this book
Every corner is some evidence of who I am, who I’ve been, who they loved.
I don’t know how to be her.
Cal, Ro, and Neviah are dealing with the fallout of Neviah’s transformation.
A little amnesia was expected—after all, both Ro and Cal couldn’t remember what happened after they suddenly woke up with tentacles sprouting from their backs.
Except Neviah doesn’t remember them at all.
Every fight and fall and sunrise and heartbreak—all gone.
As Cal and Ro try to bring Neviah back to herself, she wonders how she will ever be worthy of the love they give if she can’t even remember the journey of them—a journey she should know by heart, because she took it with them, but can now only read in fragments and shadows.
When an unexpected heat pulls the trio together, and panic pushes them apart again, it might be time for an ultimatum. Otherwise, it’s just more blood in the water—and they’re already bleeding.

Forget Me Naut is the third in the Hook trilogy, and it has a guaranteed HEA. This book cannot be read as a standalone. It must be read after Hook, Line, and Tentacle, followed by Sucker for Love. It won’t make any sense otherwise. This book contains mature content and is intended for adults only. Content warnings are detailed within.

Dove Soleil writes cozy, low stakes, high heat monster romance, paranormal romance, romantasy, and sci-fi romance with occasional feelings, lots of levity, and big ol'... happily ever afters!
She really likes to write witty banter, red hot spice, and edge it with just enough angst and emotion.
Things you'll find in Dove's books: lots of consent, realistic bodies, silliness, queer rep, neurodivergent and mental health rep, lots of spice.
Things you won't find in Dove's books: washboard abs, really deep plot/worldbuilding, absolutely soul-crushing angst*.

*Okay, she can't promise that. Dove loves angst. But if you want angst, you're best to check out Evita Wren's work, as Dove Soleil is a pen name of contemporary romance author Evita Wren.

I received a digital ARC of this book for my honest opinion. Well folks, we made it. “Forget Me Naut” is the final book in the Hook trilogy by Dove Soleil. Being that this is the conclusion in the series, be aware that it will spoil the other books in the series to read this review and feel free to go check out my review on the first book “Hook, Line, and Tentacle”. This being said, let’s get into it. This book absolutely broke me in the most beautiful way. When we had last seen Ro, Cal, and Neviah our FMC had gained her own tentacles, but had lost her memories in the process. This forced the group to deal with many different issues like trust, communication, and self-love. This was especially interesting for Neviah compared to the first book. Having to relearn a lesson in a different way was very beautiful and realistic. On this point, I loved the character development for our main characters throughout the series. Soleil does a brilliant job demonstrating what each character is going through and how it is impacting both themselves and their relationships. A great example of this is the relationship between Cal and Ro. How it grows and changes throughout the book as well as in relation to what is going on with Neviah, it truly- had me on the floor.

ALSO, how was I crying and the spice was still SO GOOD?!?! I really can’t with this author sometimes.

The way this book wrecked me… I mean throughly wrecked me… ugly crying and all.
And then it slowly put me back together… and gave me one of the most devastatingly beautiful love stories I’ve ever read.
We are thrown back into this world where this bonded trio had just managed to completely rewrite physics but they’ve also manage to reset their love story.
What was meant to bring them together for eternity manages to shatter everything they’ve ever known.
And Author Dove Soleil goes right for the vitals with this one.
Our FMC not only is trying to navigate her new existence but also her complete and total memory loss.
Our MMCs are torn between protecting the love of their life and protecting their hearts.
If you’ve read the previous books in this series you are well aware of how irrevocably and deeply in love these characters are.
So that made this story that much more devastating
to read.
And despite how gut wrenching this book was this author still managed to write some of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read all while tearing my heart to pieces.
As painful as this journey was in the end there is nothing more beautiful than when love and bonds persevere.
This trilogy will have you in such a chokehold… and it’s worth every second of it!

This book was something I did not know I ever needed, but am so glad I discovered. This book is hot, gorgeous, raw, and so emotionally real and I loved every single second of it!

I don’t usually gravitate toward paranormal romances, especially ones centered around sea elements, but this series (and this book especially) totally won me over. The world feels immersive and intense, but it’s the emotions that really shine. The amnesia storyline with Neviah hurt in such a good way. Watching Cal and Ro love her through her confusion and heartbreak was powerful and honestly so beautiful.

And the MMF dynamic was unreal. The chemistry between the three of them is electric, but it’s also layered with so much vulnerability and devotion. It’s not just hot (though it absolutely is) but it’s also deep and aching and full of longing.

Dove Soleil is such a talented writer. The prose feels poetic without trying too hard, and the emotions hit exactly where they’re supposed to. This trilogy just keeps getting better, and this installment was everything I wanted and more!

Thank you to Dove Soleil for the eARC of this book.

I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for this book for what feels like forever!

This is the third book in the Hook Line & Sinker trilogy. Book one we meet Cal & Neviah. Book two introduces Ro to the equation, & at the end switches everything up & leaves us with an almighty cliffhanger! This book is an emotional ride, we have Neviah who no longer remembers her “before”, Cal who is lost at sea without her, & Ro - who anchors Cal, but is still struggling against the current of their new reality. Your heart breaks for each of them in completely different ways, & the way Dove Soleil is able to make you feel that is just amazing.

If you’ve been waiting for this book to drop before starting the series (for those of you who don’t do cliffhangers!) then I can tell you the wait is worth it. But if you’re like me, unable to resist for fear of missing out, then this release will be the balm your heart has been waiting for.

YOU WRECKED MY HEART!!!
So many feels! The anguish. The turmoil. The yearning. The wanting. THE PAIN! This book broke and destroyed my heart. I cried. I felt every emotion as I was in the bond myself.
Cal attacking Ro tore my heart out. It was his idea to bring in Ro to begin with! He started this triad! Them attacking one another because of the pain of Neviah made me cry. It was gut wrenching. Love hurts.
Cairn can go soak his head for all I care! I knew I didn’t like him from the very first book.
Best line out of the whole book, hands down, “I want to see his face when I tell him I remember tentacock…” 😂☠️🤣 Perfect way to end the trilogy.

Suggested reading order to date:
1. Hook Line and Tentacle
2. Sucker for Love
3. Forget Me Naut

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Oh my heart!

While the first two books in this series were kinda cute and rather fun, this one tore my heart out and beat me with the soggy mess, but you know what? I thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite being close to tears on more than one occasion, I struggled to put it down. And now it's over, there still feels like a little tentacle bandage holding my heart together.

I'm beyond grateful to Dove for letting me read this early, and while I'm sad this trilogy has drawn to a close, this was the perfect ending to the story.

I received an ARC of this ebook from the author, and I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

What a bloody emotional rollercoaster to wrap up the Hook trilogy! I never could’ve imagined, back at the start, that I’d end up here — tangled in a whirlwind of feelings for a soft tentacle boy and a sunny, chaotic scientist. It’s like fate threw a dart and hit us right in the heart, with this wild MMF romance.

This one absolutely tore my guts apart, beat me with a soggy, messy heart, and yet... I loved every agonising second of it. I was fighting back tears more times than I can count, struggling to put the damn thing down. And now it’s finished — but even now, I swear I feel, like this story isn’t quite done with me yet.

The book was short, and very spicy, however I found the characters didn’t progress smoothly.

This one just didn’t hit the same as the first one.

The book mainly revolves around the amnesia and the struggle to relearn and know without knowing, but then towards the end everything rights itself in the span of nothing.

The one main thing I loved was the growth of Cal and Ro’s love.

Key points in no particular order:
- tentacled people
- three some
- descriptive MM
- descriptive self gratification
- Unwanted touching
- amnesia
- love
- grieving
- longing
- spice 5/5

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book.

What an emotional conclusion to the Hook trilogy. Little did I know when I read the first book about a soft tentacle boy and a sunny chaotic scientist that we would be here, with an MMF second chance romance (kind of, because she doesn't remember them?!) where they've made her into a tentacle shifter like them, complete with her own reverse knot. If that doesn't sell you, their safe word is Cthulhu. 'Nuff said.

Be prepared for this book to make you feel all the feelings, like all of Dove's books. But they finally get their HEA. <3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

This story had me tense and on the edge of my seat emotionally. Every chapter had me ready to bawl my eyes out and fight my own husband.

The tsunami of hell Neviah, Cal, and Ro all go through after her transformation still has my stomach on knots even as I write this.

But god damn if dove doesn’t freaking deliver a good love story. I ate it up in less than a few hours and I’m already aching for more.

You have to read this is you love a good story about soft tentacle boys who find love, unusual circumstances, and reformed bonds! 😍

This book felt very disparaging at times causing a lot of grief with the amnesia. This was definitely an emotional rollercoaster waiting for Nebula to find her way back to her guys.

The amount of love from both MMCs was ridiculous and never ending. And finally coming full circle for Cal at the end with all three of them was emotional. The three MC's really went through turmoils but showcased how strong their bond really is.

I recommend for anyone who's read the first two and really enjoy some heavy tentacle spice as well as emotional rollercoasters!

I had no idea of what to expect from this book after the cliffhanger from book 2, but I did not expect my heart to be pulled in as many directions as it was. For a shorter book, I did not anticipate walking through such intense emotions and feelings of grief and helplessness. The happy ending was a much needed relief and the book was beautifully written as we see so many different complex facets to each character.

🌶️🌶️

This is the final installment in this series and I couldn't wait to get into it after the cliffhanger from book 2! This was a very quick read for me. I will say it wasn't my favorite, although still good. I just thought it all felt really abrupt. I wanted to sit in the discomfort of her not remembering for longer than we get. It almost felt like an unnecessary sprint to a HEA. Overall, I enjoyed the series, but this one just didn't hit it for me.

This is the third installment of the trilogy ans honestly not a stand alone book. But it's worth it. The characters are well rounded and well developed. No over the top drama, just 3 humans fighting to keep their bond alive.

The books are incredibly well written and Dove is an amazing author, definitely one to follow. Nice quick read

This was an emotional conclusion to the trilogy. Its multi POV and you get to see how each character is handling the issue at hand. I feel so bad for them all. She's so confused at whats happening and they just love her so much they want to help and she won't let them. Still there is spice and a lovely HEA.

This whole story over the three books has been an emotional adventure. This last one was devastating for most of it. I mean, between all the spice. The conclusion to the triology was satisfying and I'm so glad I got to read it all.

This was a really good and definitely emotional book. My heart was broken throughout the majority of the book and I almost cried a few times. I'm so very happy that they were finally able to get their happily ever after and that everything went back to normal.

I’ve loved this trilogy, so glad Dove took it farther after the first book. I was sad for most of the book but by the end I was happy for Neviah, Cal & Ro. Thanks Dove for the ARC, can’t wait to read whatever you release in the future

Cal + Ro +Neviah.

Forget Me Naut is the ending to the trilogy & it didn't disappoint.

And while this is the ending for these three we get to see how they navigate new and old waters. Something familiar about the sea pulling these together even when Nev has forgotten snippets of time with them both. The connection between Cal and Ro deepens as they band together to get their woman back. Ro has a softer approach to seeking out Nev while Cal is bound to staying home because being near her while she doesn't recognize who he is hurts more than her being near the ocean.

Love isn't linear. And when your heart knows what your brain doesn't it's difficult to reconcile it alone. With the missing pieces and memories lost our dearest Neviah must allow these two to not only help her figure out her future but allow her to decide if they'll remain together or if she'll become a shell of a person because of the choice she made.

This well thought out trilogy ends on a high note after much heartbreak and angst between this triad. As always Dove does an excellent job of pulling emotion out of even ocean mollusk/cephalopod. So, with that said. Now that the story is complete, add it to your TBR. There is heat, heartbreak and a HEA you don't want to miss.

Thank you to the author for a beta copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an excellent ending to a trilogy! Dove once again made me sob (profusely), but what good romance doesn’t make you emotional? There is an extremely happy ending, and my only thought is about how this series is a must read. If you’re like me and you’re not much for paranormal or monster romances, this WILL change your tone.

ARC review:
A sweet conclusion to this trilogy. It was different from the first two, with Cal and Ro together while Neviah grapples with her transformation and memory loss for most of the book. This split brought tension and conflict, but it diminished the fun and connection of the first two books.
It was still very enjoyable, and spicy, and “nauty”, and I’m happy they got their HEA.
