Resonant Volume 5 is perfect for sci-fi readers seeking thought-provoking fiction. From the author of the Bridgers series, Across Horizons series, Diffusion series, Peregrine Outpost series, and more.
For decades I’ve avoided short stories like the plague. They just don’t give you the opportunity to bond with the characters and the storyline like the longer form writings do. Having just finished reading Resonant Dust Volumes Four and Five back-to-back I can happily report that these shorter tales are just as enjoyable as some of the better novels out there. Some very interesting concepts!
I've just read Resonant Dust 4 and 5 in quick succession.
It brings me back to the days of browsing secondhand bookshops and finding a new sci-fi anthology of favourite authors. Hours of reading pleasure ahead.
Stan C. Smith does a wonderful job of creating these vignettes of a different world every time.
Fifth book of short Sci-Fi stories in the series, this one doesn’t disappoint either. The author claims to have many more of these fascinating short stories, and they just keep coming!
I was given a copy of this book by the author. However, I am voluntarily posting an honest review.
A set of truly captivating short stories, with some I will remember for quite some time! Is it wrong that the one I found funniest wasn't the one that was meant to be amusing? Oh well. I'm sure the author won't mind. Some truly weird and original ideas come from the fingers of this clever author, and I particularly enjoyed the one about the cryogenics - but I will say no more! The books in this series are a great was to see some original and unusual ideas, which in sci-fi is something I truly love.
If you enjoy short stories that spark your imagination and leave you wanting more, look no further than Stan C. Smith’s Resonant Dust series. Resonant Dust, Volume Five does not disappoint. It’s filled with creative concepts, compelling characters, and even a bit of pure silliness. My personal favorite in this volume is Honor and Nourishment, which gave me several chuckles along the way.
This fifth volume of short stories once again illustrates perfectly how unique Stan C Smith's writing is. Each tale is brimming with imagination and could easily have been expanded to novel length. This author always delivers with stories that are different from the run of the mill Sci-Fi we've all read before. To be up to collection 5 and maintaining such an unbelievably high standard is astounding. Varying in subject doesn't mean varying quality either. Another great addition to the series. Can Stan C Smith deliver even more? I'm willing to bet he can!
Superb collection of short stories. All with a unique theme. Although I've already read all but one of these stories before I never get tired of rereading them. Plus I always discover something new. Definitely recommend you'll enjoy it
