Accidental Sext: A Forbidden Boss Romance

Rate this book
When you loathe your silver fox boss, you don’t quit—you send him a sext.
Accidentally.

“I can’t stop thinking about him bending me over his desk.”

That was the text I sent to my boss.
Instead of my best friend.

His reply?
“Come in early tomorrow. 7:30.”

Mr. Voss.
Six-feet-whatever of cold, silver-haired disapproval in a charcoal suit.
A stare that strips me bare without ever touching me.
Hands that look far too capable of undoing me... completely.

I expect him to fire me.

But he calls me into his office, shuts the door, and makes me an offer.
More like an ultimatum.

He needs a surrogate.
I need to keep my job.
It’s a win-win.

Until he makes one thing very clear—

He doesn’t want doctors.
Or clinics.

He wants me in his bed.
Old-fashioned.
Unprotected.

…and completely at his mercy.

This is a full-length standalone, age gap, surrogacy pregnancy, forbidden romance with delicious office spice. HEA guaranteed!

Accidentally on purpose?

Perhaps. I purchased this book on a whim after seeing an add on social media, and I absolutely loved it! The author took me on a wild ride that I didn’t want to see end. The steam was enough to fog my glasses and the sweet moments where few and far between, but so much more poignant because of it. There were some uncomfortable moments where I couldn’t possibly see a HEA, and I almost stopped reading or skipped to the end to be sure they had their moment. But the author guided this couple through the ups and downs of a relationship, the emotional angst of medical treatment, and the backstabbing pain of corporate espionage with a touch of humor and an unshakable loyalty that moved me. This book was my first experience with this author, but it won’t be my last.

I really tried to like it but the whole things is yucky. The future baby, the reason he doesn’t do relationships, the ex sister in law. Everything. And April is no better. Also her situation is so cliche. I wanted funny banter and sexy times not this.

If the characters were more likable this would have been good. I just didn’t care for any of them.

I really liked the characters in this book! They are strong, dynamic, independent, intelligent but also stubborn, opinionated and difficult at times. Anthony is running the family fashion business. Anthony is known for being demanding, intense, controlling and emotionless. April has been working for Anthony as his assistant. She is efficient, organized, sassy, sarcastic and she makes Anthony absolutely crazy (something he will never admit)! April comes home every night and loses her mind because Anthony is so-o ridiculously hot! She is so attracted to him but she isn’t going to cross that line. She is a good person and needs this job so there want be any feelings for her boss. And then the sexual text comes through to Anthony from April!! Anthony has no idea what is going on. When April realizes her mistake that she texted her boss not her best friend. She figures she will definitely get fired. When she arrives in the morning Anthony says he will not fire her but has a new contract for her. Have his baby and he will give her huge sums of money to compensate her? No feelings involved. Just business. Will he be able to convince April? Will Anthony be able to control his emotionless heart? Will April be able to keep her feelings hidden? What will happen in this arrangement? There are many twists and turns- as well as a villainous snake of a woman. Will anyone survive? This is a slow burning love story. They have an easy, desirable magic. The story has drama, altercations, twists and turns and you will feel like your on a bumpy road at times. It’s really a good, enjoyable read filled with sizzle, heat and passion. You should read it!

“The stakes have changed in a way I can’t pretend are just contractual.”.

Never Too Old To Fall In Love

This one is so entertaining! April inadvertently sends a sext message to her older grumpy boss instead of her friend which turns out to be so embarrassing for April. Anthony saw his opportunity to present her with an unorthodox arrangement that is created where they both agree upon the conditions & it’s a win-win contract. The way Anthony is sensitive to her insecurities, assuring her she’s beautiful, an excellent assistant who is very smart & he likes pushing her buttons (according to her), gives her more confidence in standing up to those who try to sabotage their delicate relationship. In turn, she peels away his crusty shell people see & finds he’s very sensitive & will give her the world as time together intensifies.

This couple just melts my heart, rooting for them to succeed & their contractual outcome has so much more meaning than what is printed in black & white on paper. I found I couldn’t put this novel down & I fell in love with this couple. From the beginning pages to the last page, these two continued with the banter which helped with their developing relationship to become stronger. This novel is one that you’ll enjoy reading & one I give a 10-star rating if it would be possible!

"Accidental Sext" is a deliciously addictive, one-sitting read that delivers exactly what a forbidden boss romance promises—tension, heat, and a whole lot of heart. April is a fun, relatable heroine whose accidental late-night text to her cold, silver fox boss sets off a chain reaction that’s equal parts awkward, hilarious, and wildly intense.

Mr. Voss checks every box for the ultimate billionaire boss fantasy: older, controlled, intimidating, and secretly soft beneath all that polished steel.

The age-gap dynamic and forced proximity create constant sparks, while the unexpected surrogate pregnancy arrangement raises the emotional stakes beyond just physical attraction. What could’ve been purely steamy turns surprisingly tender, with genuine vulnerability between them.

Packed with classic tropes—boss/employee, billionaire, silver fox, forbidden romance, and that unforgettable sext-gone-wrong setup—this novel is fast-paced, dramatic, and totally bingeable. If you love mature, high-heat romances with a strong heroine and a commanding hero who falls hard, this one’s a must-read.

This is why you should always check who you’re texting!

Ranting to her best friend, April doesn’t realize that she’s replying to her boss not her friend when she mentions how she actually feels about him and what she wants him to do. Anthony just happens to need a heir to keep his company and now that he knows this, he wants nothing more. Only, he wants to do it the old fashioned way. No feelings were supposed to get involved but in a twist of fate, Anthony falls first; not that he’ll admit it. So when his former sister-in-law is working against him, and using April, how will Anthony keep April and his company?

April and Anthony get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

This book was over the top and a bit ridiculous and I loved it! I wonder how long Anthony knew about the heir clause, and ignored it or if two years before it came to fruition, he was just finding it out. I do love that April would do anything for her sister and niece to ensure that her niece got the best care possible. I do wonder if her sister ever came around to liking Anthony or if she continued to not like him and think he was using her.

MFC April Swan has a problem, her silver fox boss Anthony Voss is sooo HOT, and so fordidden.
After a particularly difficult day she is home texting back and forth with her bestie about his cold attitude before throwing in how she’d like to be bent over his desk, not realizing until she receives a reply that she had sent it to her boss by mistake!
MMC Anthony Voss has been interested in his Communications Manager for months and her text has just given him an idea. He needs an heir before age fifty or loose his company.
Time to make April an offer.
I enjoyed Accidental Sext which was an entertaining story that turns into a beneficial contract for both parties in a nicely written, billionaire romance that swiftly turns into much more when feelings play into their narrative.
With a little corporate intrigue, lots of spice, drama, and engaging characters a delightful read swept me up on a journey ending in a wonderful HEA.

A great story that is not as 2 dimensional as some tropes

Accidental Sext is a delightful blend of heat, humour, and heartfelt connection. What begins as a chaotic texting mishap quickly unfolds into a story that’s as emotionally rich as it is playful. The author takes a familiar trope—the wrong-number message—and infuses it with charm, depth, and a surprising amount of tenderness.

The accidental message that kicks everything off is bold and so funny, but the story doesn't lean on this alone. Instead, it uses that spark to explore how two strangers can build trust, curiosity, and attraction through words alone.

Given the spicy implications, what stands out most is the warmth, romance, and endearing emotional pull between Anthony and April. Their connection feels lived-in and sincere, even before they move forward in their "contract".

What a fun read that won't take you long to get emotionally involved with April and Anthony. The grumpy boss she couldn't stand but was attracted to. A slow burn romance with plenty of steam. No shortage of troupes in this one: age-gap, office romance, corporate sabotage, fake relationship, baby mama and more. Things get interesting when he finds out that his father's will states he must have an heir and be married in order to inherit the trust. He's 48, a widower and has no interest in marriage. He was emotionally closed off since his late wife and her 'lover' were killed in a helicopter crash. He offers to pay her to have his child and she accepts to get money to help with her niece's medical bills. Plenty of angst, twists and drama but eventually an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Ohh I loved these characters. April is a woman who looks after her sister and her niece. Working with Anthony is a joy and a pain. Bossy, dominant, arrogant and hot.Her dreams are full of hot moments with him in it. The silver fox keeps her on her toes. One mistaken text and her dreams are now real, but with a contract attached.
Anthony can’t help put find his communication officer hot and sexy and her text finds a solution to a problem that he has to fix fast. Oh these two , when you find out the reason he has relationship issues and how he fights his feeling. How April feelings are hit you in the face. The drama from the past and one blond Karen hmmmm. The banter, humour, hot and sexy, with emotions.
Great characters, flawed and trust me you will fall for them.

Accidental Sext is just the read you would expect from Mia Mara. It is addictive, sexy, page-turning, and intriguing. The characters are layered and seamlessly “tell” their story throughout their journey. They are determined, strong, and captivating. I love April with her grit, spunk, and her love of her family. I also learned to love Anthony from his no nonsense, firm self to the person he became as his association with April grew. The bantering and interactions between April and Anthony add to them as an interesting couple. I loved their journey as they reached for their happy ever after. This page-turning romance is full of heart-felt emotions as two people learn to accept and trust one another is worth the read and highly recommend.

Another fun and enjoyable read by Mia Mara.

An accidental text going to the subject of same text leads to a proposition. Then follows the jumble of feelings not to mention their compatibility between the sheets. April is a fun, caring but feisty character, especially when cornered.

At times Anthony’s self centredness, with the walls he’d built around him , made me want to shake him, but then again that’s part of what makes the story. He’s the stereotypical silver haired alpha boss who initially runs when he realises he’s developed strong feelings but who ultimately comes good with regard to April.

There’s no doubting that Anthony and April have strong feelings towards each other, this is their journey towards their HEA.

Idea was good, execution was not interesting enough to keep going.

Anthony is arranging what they both want and missy April is prostesting a little too much for someone daily having sex fantasies about her boss. Annoying and very careless behaviour (she is running to the boss' office without checking who is in there, without closing a very sensitive contract on her computer screen (because we are so annoyed that he dared to put in the contract that he wanted the conceiving go the natural way...). I basically stopped there.

Read the end, but that wasn't saving our heroine from being a doozy either.

Ideas of this author are basically all good, but if the execution of the stories is this boring and annoying than I am not sure I am interested in more of her books. (I don't think this author is for me.)

CEO Anthony requires an heir to keep his company and his marketing executive seems like just the right choice once he receives an accidental text from her. April is sassy enough to standup to him and they are both hiding their attraction from each other. April agrees after examining her current situation and the two enter a contract both prepared to guard their emotions from becoming involved. And the sexy times are on! In the meantime his former sister-in-law is up to mischief trying to derail his plans in favor of her own.
The banter is fun, the characters are engaging, and the story is well-developed and well-written. You couldn't ask for more. Read it and enjoy!.

I was instantly in awe of April; she is sassy and just everything you wish you could be. Anthony is the brooding, dominating boss who has clearly met his match. Their witty banter was my favorite part; it left me laughing several times. At times the contract was kind of cruel and demeaning and my heart really went out to April, but we all know how these 'fake relationships' go. 😉 This book has it all: the playful moments, light drama, and some sizzling hot scenes. Mia Mara has done it again! Another couple that has swept me off my feet!

Anthony is the controlling no feeling boss that irritates April as much as she is attracted to him. Always has this closed off demeanor and complete control of himself, she has no idea that he is attracted to her as much as she is to him. After an accidental text describing her fantasy of him, their relationship snowballs in a totally different direction. This book is full of steamy scenes, feelings disguised as contractual obligations, betrayal, drama and love that doesn’t fade even when it’s being pushed away and evaded. This was a fantastic read. Don’t miss out on this incredible book.

Anthony and April have an employer/employee relationship until April accidentally sends a series of text meant for her BFF revealing her not so professional thoughts regarding Anthony. Anthony just learned of a clause requiring he sire an heir to keep his seat as CEO. He gets to bright idea to contract April to be his surrogate . . . by natural means. What could go wrong?

The character development and plot development was well thought out. Other than the over the top circumstance, everything was realistic enough you could see something like this occurring.

Accidental Sexy - chunky CEO, mouthy media expert.

So when she gets a short text from Anthony, demanding that she sees him in his office at 7, she decides to grips even more by saying she'd like to get failed on his desk by him. Unfortunately instead of sending it to Nicky she sends it to her boss Anthony.! Anthony is also going through a crisis, that maybe April will be able to help him, with. This is a sunshine and brooding silver hair domineering boss story. One that will captivate you from the first to the last page. April will accidentally (or not) sexted her boss Anthony and the course of their lives will forever be changed. He is a 48 year old workaholic who needs and heir before he turns 50 and spunky, sassy April might be the solution to his problem after this sext. Watching these two characters grow close together and change before your eyes to bring them to an HEA is fascinating and fun.

WOW - great book - I liked the length of this book - it was not a 20-50 page book, it was about 200 pages and so there was lots of world and character building, lots of hot scenes - yes someone to hate and April to love. April is younger than Anthony and works for him. Book starts with the accidental text and then the excitement begins. I laughed in this book a couple of times - which I love to laugh in and around the hot scenes. The epilogue ties it up - I like that in a book also - tell what happens to the characters. All around great book!

April and Anthony have had feelings for each other and each have thought they were one sided. Until they both realized they weren’t. I love how April is the only one who speaks to him so sarcastically. Bahaha! Their feelings definitely start to intensify when she agrees to carry his child. I love that it all really kicked off when April accidentally sent those texts to her boss. I loved practically everything about this book!.

Anthony needs a baby, April needs to help her family. So she agrees to have a baby with Anthony.  It sounds a like an easy plan until it becomes real. Then... everything changes.

This story is amazing. The plot is fast paced. You think it's just going to be a romance and then the plot twist and it becomes a story of a jealous woman who tries to blackmail Anthony and April. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, turning the pages and I could put the book down.  I loved it. Well done Mia. Another great book.

this was hot, I don't usually leave reviews only do it if they are too good to not to.

I like the dynamic of both MMC & MFC, the sexy spicy scenes are good enough to imagine and there were times, I felt the need to voice over the characters while reading alone and then burst out laughing because there are bits and pieces of funny lines being thrown around.

I only buy ebooks if they are good and I'd be happy to read again, so in saying that I would recommend and I will be owning this one and probably the rest of them from Mia Mara...she seems to know her audience that's for sure.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this. I was prepared for all spice and little plot, but the plot was fantastic and the spice was the perfect amount. It was a good balance between spice and story. I found myself not wanting to put it down because I loved how the story was unfolding. It is a shorter book but that did not take away from the story at all. I was able to see character growth, feel the love forming and had enough time to hate the villain. I recommend it, especially if you love silver foxes and HEAs.

workplace romance

Anthony is CEO of the company he and his father built. He doesn’t need anything in his life but his company. That is until the lawyers informed him of the small print in his father’s will. He must produce an heir before he turns fifty (2 years away) or lose the company. No one fits what he wants except his assistant. She’s curvy, not afraid of telling him what she thinks, makes him question himself. Could he talk her into this?

Just a little text that leads into so much more; great characters with an intriguing story that deals with more than just their relationship. This story had depth with the company involvement and April’s sister and young niece. Enjoyed the banter between the players, as the way Anthony is described definitely a se*y silver fox. Liked how this all happened in the endgame for the couple and the business.
