A last minute dinner with billionaire Damon Kael will change the course of Lauren Kemp's life. The intense entrepreneur is able to look right through her and pinpoint exactly what she wants...success. He offers to mentor her, with the aid of a cryptic book, but does his kindness come with ulterior motives?
Meanwhile, Lauren and her boyfriend Nick are trying to make it work while living in New York City. Unfortunately, her misogynistic boss keeps getting in the way. Presenting at the largest tech expo, Agitate, might be great for her career but could also spell death for her relationship.
Life is becoming more complicated with each day. With everything she wants to achieve, can Lauren have both a personal and professional life? With Damon's help, will Lauren learn the rules of power or is she just another piece in his game?
As if things couldn't get more complicated, Lauren finds an ally in the charming tech entrepreneur, Landon DeWitt. Bouncing between the lush vineyards of Sonoma, hilly streets of San Francisco, and the urban jungle of NYC, Lauren will have to navigate a maze of corporate espionage while protecting her heart and future.
Landon, Nick, Parker, Damon...is Lauren playing with powers she can barely control? Who is there to help and who only wants to take her down?

This series is the BOMB!! I totally loved the story of Lauren and Landon - even if they got off track a couple of times!! I enjoyed the way the story was written. It was easy to read and easy to follow. This story has open door sex scenes, and as a note to myself but even more to my fellow erotic romance readers: IF you do not enjoy the “open door” as it were for sex scenes that you read then for heavens’ sake DO NOT read it!!!!i get SOOO very tired of women (and men) that read erotica then spend their review COMPLAINING about the sex!!!!! Go read your Sesame Street books or Dora the Explorer books. Review them and be done with it! DO. NOT. BASH. EROTICA!! I happen to enjoy it very much!!! That includes this book. Thank you to the author, Ms. Huxley. I absolutely loved the story!!!
This is another which is "saved" by the ending. Most of the way through, I wasn't really liking Lauren. She drinks too much and sleeps around... moderately. Her friend Ali apparently sleeps around more. I just didn't find her all that appealing. There were also missing and/or wrong words, fortunately not too many, but enough. The 'saving grace,' if you will was the way she took down Parker.
This book was a train wreck! I hated the heroine of the book so much! She is so inconsistent throughout the book. All she cared about was work, and she didn't seem very good at it. She ruined her first relationship because of it, and she didn't seem to care. She worked for a man who treats her like dirt and sexually harasses her. She doesn't report it, and she continues to keep working for him. She hooks up with a potential investor, and she still has a boyfriend. She won't quit because why???? She went to M.I.T. I think she could find another job, ya know!! Oh yeah... she's pretty much attracted to every guy she meets. She supposedly falls for one guy, but still almost hooks up with someone else too. This is someone who is supposed to run her own company?! I wouldn't trust her with my grocery list. I could go on and on, but I feel like I've always ready wasted too much time already!
The story itself is generally okay, but there are so many issues with this I found it difficult to enjoy thoroughly. Firstly, why hadn't it been proof read? There are numerous spelling and grammar mistakes, and even careless mistakes such as wrong names. Secondly, the main character is just not believable... would she really be pretty much throwing herself at three men at once? Is she really that sex driven? And as a strong woman, why does she seen so dependent on men? She doesn't even resolve her own problems. I was disappointed as the idea had potential.
I usually don't have this many books at my disposal to read at one time but let me tell you this is the way to do it cause you can get the hole story and don't have to wait . These Were good books to read.A lot of drama, betrayal, falling in love, back bitting, friendship and getting even.. A must read.
This was great. While reading it I never knew who she should trust. So much like real life. But I felt like it had a pretty good ending...although I really have to say that one was super disappointed in the stuff with Nick...I kinda think he was a bigger douche than Parker was.
I loved this series of books. Lauren was a little mixed up at times and I could feel myself getting aggravated with her, but I loved the twists and turns - I was convinced I knew who was doing what and then realised I had assumed wrong. Worth reading but beware you might not be able to stop when you start.
While this book had its fair share of steam, this cliffhanger is full of intrigue and plot twists. Lauren finds herself between two men, with a total jerk of a boss and just as a woman from her past, with an obvious axe to grind, resurfaces to thicken the plot...
I liked it!! ❤️ It was in parts romantic and funny. It was very relatable in terms of young working professionals and the struggles they face. It delt with the issue of young love and it's maturity level.... And let's not forget psycho-level obsession. I thought it was great.
Was expecting just a regular trashy book or books as the case is with a series. I was so surprised when this turned out to have some real depth and an actual storyline. And a good storyline at that. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. Very enjoyable.
Not what I expected. It had more plot than a free book, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why some characters were given significance. They did nothing to further the story. Damon? What is the point of him?
I wasn't sure what to expect with this set, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I found these books easy to read, full of interesting characters and tied together with a great storyline.
I really liked it. Had a lots of steam. Plot twists were great. I could not wait for the next book. I am going to watch the author for more great books.
Great read. Shows that hard work and dedication truly pays off in the end, as well as reminding one to always watch your back, never know who could cause more problems.
