From TikTok sensation Lily Gold comes a brand-new spicy “why choose” romcom, featuring three steamy Scottish heroes… and one lucky girl who doesn't have to choose.
One bubbly city girl lost in the Highlands. Three grumpy Scots determined to keep her there.
Yesterday, I was a fashion influencer on a trip to a luxurious Scottish spa. Today, I’m the internet's favourite trainwreck. All it took was one embarrassing viral video to end my career and leave me stranded in the Highlands.
I find shelter on Lochview Sheep Farm. It’s certainly not a luxury vacation spot… unless you count the three huge Scots running the place.
There’s Cameron, the grumpy shepherd who calls me ‘princess’ when my heels get stuck in the mud… before carrying me inside.
Fraser, the flirty rancher with the auburn hair, who promises to wear his kilt just for me.
And Alec, the commanding farm manager, who seems to hate me… until a sudden storm sends his protective streak into overdrive.
They all assume I’m just a clueless city girl. But when they find out what I’m hiding from, they swear to take care of me. Soon, I’m being kissed in freezing Scottish lochs, cuddled in front of the roaring fireplace, and being spoiled like the princess they once accused me of being.
And the best part?
My three handsome Highlanders are used to sharing everything… And now they want to share me.
Highland Hideaway is a blistering standalone romance featuring three swoony heroes, grumpy-sunshine banter, and tons of found-family warmth. Cosy up and get ready for your next sweet-but-sizzling comfort read!
She has a soft spot for strong guys with big hearts, and thinks the only thing better than one book boyfriend is TWO book boyfriends... or maybe three 😜; When she's not writing, she's usually reading, accidentally killing her potted plants, or finding a pet to cuddle.

Lily Gold’s long awaited return definitely didn’t disappoint 💚
Highland Hideaway is a funny, charming, and surprisingly emotional story! Summer is the final boss of people-pleasers who escapes to the Scottish highlands after getting ‘cancelled’. As a recovering people-pleaser myself, Summers internal dialogue was heart wrenching. She was almost too relatable. I signed up for sexy Scottish fun, but there’s a bonus of crying and soul searching as well 😂
The mmcs follow the classic RH tradition of 1. The golden, sunshine man 2. The grump who is only sweet to her 3. The one who acts like he hates her and holds out till the very end But each one had a very unique voice. I never had to check whose POV each chapter was. I loved the dynamic that Cam, Alec, and Fraser had. Fraser was so funny, and his exchanges with the other two made me laugh out loud multiple times. I wish I had gotten more Cameron POVs, since he is my favorite, but oh well 🥲
My one gripe is that I think the initial hookup was too early in the story for how many pages this book has. It threw off the pacing a bit in the second half and made the book feel just a tad too long.
This was such a good time overall! You get cute lambs, 3 hunks with accents, laughs, and a good cry 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bonus points for the ADHD, dyslexia, disability, and depression rep!
Huge thank you to Lily Gold for sending me an advance copy! 💚💚💚
Pre Read: I won’t lie, I screamed a little when I saw this slide into my inbox 🤭🩷 So excited to see what my RH queen has in store!
Okay, I know most people probably put this part at the end, all calm and professional, but I’m new to this game and I physically cannot act normal about this 😭💕
I GOT AN ADVANCED READER COPY??? This was the first time I ever even applied for one. I genuinely did not think I’d get it. And then the email came in, and I think I blacked out. I am still screaming about it two weeks later. Lily Gold’s books mean so much to me, so getting to read "Highland Hideaway" early felt completely unreal. I’m just so grateful and so ridiculously happy about it. Let me have this moment!
Now, I’m not even exaggerating when I say Lily Gold is SO BACK 🗣️🗣️🗣️ I’m actually so impressed. Her character development was already good before, but this time it’s on another level. Everyone feels so layered and intentional. The emotional arcs are really satisfying and hit me deep.
I especially loved how mental health was handled. The boys’ trauma felt real and complex, not just something mentioned for drama. And Summer’s ADHD, and the way it shaped her whole life and especially her relationship with her mom, was written so thoughtfully.
Ugh, I actually love how Summer was written! I love her so much. I’m obsessed with an optimistic, bubbly fmc who isn’t naive 😮💨🪭 She’s open and sunshiney, but not in an annoying or unrealistic way. She has struggles. She talks about her obstacles. She’s been through things. But she’s still genuinely joyful. That balance??? Perfect. I love a happy girl who isn’t written as blind to reality.
AND THIS BOOK IS SO FUNNY 😭😭🤭🤭 I actually laughed out loud so many times. Lily’s humor just hits every time.
Yes, you can spot a few parallels to her earlier books, but honestly? If it works, it works. Her previous books absolutely ✨slay✨ so I’m not complaining about familiar dynamics 💃💃
My one tiny grievance is that I feel like Cameron didn’t get enough screen time in the beginning. I missed him 😔 Even when he was technically there, I wanted more. And his POV kind of disappeared for a while after Alec got more involved and I was like ???😩 where is my man ???😩 But honestly they made up for it, so I forgave everything.
So as you can see, Lily Gold has done it again 🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️ She is a queen fr and I am feral about her books and her writing style! This one was no different.
when i saw this, i am not kidding with you when i say i literally gasped so hard my throat closed up.
MOTHER HAS RETURNED!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
i used to pray for times like these 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
no, i cannot and WILL not be normal about this, btw.
(for context, all 4 of lily gold's other books got me into reading in 2022. i've been awaiting her return for YEARS. i've been truly blessed by the knowledge of this book coming out in LITERALLY LIKE NINE DAYS AUGHUGHS)
placed a "wish" for this book on netgalley. crossing all my fingers and toes that i get it because i'll quite literally burst into tears of joy, k thx
In classic Lily Gold fashion, this was adorable!! It was lighthearted and bubbly, but simultaneously dealt with serious topics with such sensitivity. I ADORED the fun and humour woven throughout the book. Crumpet the lamb was obviously my favourite character - but our bubbly, selfless Summeer was a close second!
"The truth is, I can't not worry about it. Ever since I was a kid, I've hated people not liking me. It makes me feel... off-balance. Scared."
I've never related more. Summer had such gorgeous ADHD representation (which I can't relate to, but which I thought was gorgeously written) and she was also a serial people pleaser. And girl, same. I've never read about someone who feels the same pit in their stomach when people dislike them! Summer's growth, the way she opened herself up and learnt to put herself first sometimes, was so, so well written. I've never been so proud.
"We have to do something. Some of these people post their real names." His jaw tightens. "There are old tools in the shed."
The men didn't stand out to me too much, but as per usual I loved our flirty one, holding together the trio with pure force of will and sunshine distraction. All three of them had their own development to go through, and I did love that they had fully formed characters and personalities. They were sweet! And the setting with the farm (plus Scottish accents TEHE) was new and provided a fair bit of plotline to pull everything along!
"I think I accidentally people-pleased away my entire personality." "Masked too close to the sun," Lulu agrees sagely. "And now my soul fell out." "Nah. It's in there. Wear something that looks like you're being swallowed alive by a marshmallow, that'll perk it back up."
Overall, this was such a cute, fun read. It brought me so much joy to see Summer open herself up and look after herself. She made the boys grovel a bit, because she remembered that she is the most important person - no more people pleasing! This whole book flew by, despite the 500+ pages, and I can't wait to reread this along with all of Lily Gold's other books.
Thank you so much to the super sweet author for the ARC copy!
I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I smiled from beginning to end. Lily is back and hasn't missed a damn beat. This is her best work yet 🥹I am not sure I'll ever get over how much I adore these characters.
Summer's struggles mirror some of my own and it really hit deep.... But she is the epitome of sunshine and I loved that so much. The way she looked at the world was really beautiful and I loved the growth she saw and the growth she helped the guys see too.
The men, like always with Lily, we're perfectly unperfect and I loved them to bits. Cameron was probably my favorite, I love me a broken broody man. But Alec's alpha and Fraser's absolute joy and sunshine were amazing too. The way these four fit together had me so so happy and I just, gahhh, *sobs*
I'll be patiently waiting for this one to hit audio so I can re-read and re-listen any time I please.
Beta Review: I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I smiled from beginning to end. Lily is back and hasn't missed a damn beat. This is her best work yet 🥹
Loved the Scottish sheep farm setting, the sweet FMC who loves pink and girly but also grows to love the outdoors and the ADHD rep but two of the MMC were just too emotionally stunted and shut down for me. It was wrapped up well up well at the end. Happy to have another book from this author! The character art (from her newsletter, prob on her socials) is really well done if you like having a visual of the characters. 💖 3.5⭐️
Big thank you to Lily Gold and NetGalley for the eARC!! 🪵🏴🐑💖
I didn’t expect to feel as connected to these characters as I do. With Lily Gold’s other books, I was always able to appreciate how she differentiated the characters - since there are three MMCs, it’s hard to make sure there isn’t much overlap so the audience doesn’t mistake one for the other - but in this book, without even looking at whose POV we were in, I knew who it was based on their unique character voice. *applause* These characters were also so well-rounded and we got to delve a little deeper into what made them into the people they are now which is a nice shift from the very smut-heavy other books by her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad about the smut, but I’d like to get to know the characters as well, and this book had a really good blend of both.
Cameron’s fear of getting close to Summer, Alec’s constant thought that he did something wrong and fear of disappointing/letting down the people he loves, and Summer’s fear of being disliked resulting in her doing what will make others happy at the expense of her own happiness hit a little too close to home for me; I ended up getting pretty emotional at certain parts of the book. The only character I didn’t relate to on a personal level was Fraser, and he ended up being my favorite character in the book - we don’t have to get into what that may or may not say about me. He was such a kind, caring, ball of sunshine, and I love him. These characters just felt so so real, I didn’t want to leave our little farm in Scotland.
As for the romance between them, it’s always interesting going into a reverse harem/why choose and wondering how they’ll all end up together. Typically (with the ones I’ve read) two start off and she thinks she has to choose between them and then they say you don’t have to pick and then the third is the grump who won’t let himself get close but he winds up in the mix as well, and let’s just say this was no different. I think the initial hookup was a bit quick for my taste; I would’ve liked to see more progression with their friendship and getting to know each other before anything else, but we got that with another one of the guys so I can’t be too mad. Didn’t love the third act breakup but at the same time, it was necessary for the character development. Everything made sense and evened out in the end - I had a great time!!
This was my new fave Lily Gold. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!
THE PREMISE: an adorable ADHD people-pleaser of an influencer is cancelled online, and ends up hiding on a remote farm in Scotland … with three hot dudes. What’s a girl to do? (All of them).
TROPES & VIBES: - The Lily Gold Classic of: sweet, green flag guys x smutty smut x hilarity x a really solid plot with a big dramatic arc at the end. - Outlander kink - I loved Summer. She’s my fave Lily Gold fmc - Character growth and learning to love yourself - Great adhd x mental health rep - Lowkey thought Cam and Alec should have kissed; and Fraser was so bi-coded. King.
I just love lily gold so so much! I was so excited to start this book and just as I thought IT WAS PERFECT!!! I loved everything about it, the storyline, the characters, the romance, I could go on!
I WANTED MORE ANGST!!! i love lily gold and her writing but something about the build up between the fmc and mmc (s) wasn’t as great compared to the other stories. 3.5 stars
“I reckon the world could do with a lot more of you in it, London. Mistakes and mess and all.” ✨💖
Getting to dive into a Lily Gold why choose story is always such an absolute treat. This book is definitely my new favorite!
Every single one of our main characters was so well developed and unique. In true why choose fashion it’s SO HARD to pick a favorite guy. HOWEVER, I love a silent broody man and Cameron was PERFECT. This man seemed so grumpy but was fiercely protective and so dang sweet. A man who learns how to make your favorite treat?! ADORABLE!
“Aye. Body and soul. I’m yours. ’Bout time you realised.”
Summer was wonderful. I feel like a lot of people will be able to relate to her character and the things she struggles with. She has ADHD and has spent her entire life trying to fit into a world that wasn’t built for her. Her mother made her feel like she was too much and that made her into someone that would do anything to fit the mold of what everyone wanted her to be. As a fellow people pleaser, my heart broke for her. If you have ever felt like you are too much, getting to see Summer’s journey to finding herself and her place will bring you all the warm fuzzies.
“And you’re wrong,” he says quietly. “You’re not hard to like. It’s the easiest thing in the world to like you. Couldn’t stop myself if I tried.”
There was so much healing all of the leads had to go through to reach their happy ending and I loved every minute of it! Alec, our broken boy was so deserving of love, he just had to let go of his past and reach for it.
“Aye, I do. I like you messy. Like you angry. Like you sad. Like you happy. I like you every way you come.”
Fraser was the happy go lucky flirt that also struggled with depression. It was really special to see how Alec came for him when he needed him most.
The spice was honestly the perfect ratio in this story! Some relationships build faster than others and then we had our secret dom enter the scene and direct some HOTTTTT moments!
“There we go,” Alec soothes. “Good girl. Just like that.“
I am honestly so sad I already finished this book because I want to experience it again and again. If you are ready for some highland hotties, you definitely have to check this story out!
Tropes: 🤭 Why Choose 🫶🏼 People Pleasing FMC 💖 Beauty Influencer x Highland Hotties 💔 Broken Boy ❤️🔥 Spicyyy 🐑 Fuzzy Sidekick ❤️🩹 Mental Health Rep ✨ Neurodivergent Rep
This was my first Lily Gold book and definitely not the last!
I received an early copy of this book through NetGalley and oh my god it was so good! A bubbly FMC and 3 broody Scottish men, SIGN ME UP!
I love how instantly these three Scottish men fold to the air that is Summer is truly what every girl wants in life. Not to mention the ADH representation is wonderfully written and sheds so much light to the plight people deal with on a daily basis. The care that these men give Summer when she is stressed and overwhelmed is pure perfection!
And of course we also need to give it up to the real star of this show…. Crumpet!!!! I would literally do anything for this tiny baby sheep!
This book was such a great story of how something may seem like your whole life and everything you worked for but you never know what better things can come into your life when you least expect it!
Thank you so much for the advanced copy I truly enjoyed every moment! And thank you even more for the delicious spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️!!!! (Brb, planning a trip to the highlands)
ARC Review: I don't think I have ever related to an FMC so hard!! I loved the accurate ADHD rep! I have loved everything Lily has written so far and this book was not an exception! The vibes were so cosy, loved every single character. The storyline had me hooked, I laughed, I cried it's the perfect mix of Rom and Com.
OMG LILY GOLD OUT DID HERSELF WITH THIS BOOK my favorite book written by her by far with lily's other books i had one main problem, her characters had no personality AND THIS BOOK FIXED IT Summer- my sweet baby girl had so much trauma but i absolutely loved the fact she had ADHD, i loved seeing her work through it and i love that she loves everything pink!! Alec- poor sweet baby boy was put through so much trauma with his dad, at times he was annoying with his constant "ill do everything" but at the end i loved when he learned to deal with it Cameron/Fraser- these two had slightly lacking personalities but they were both sweeties and had story lines she was on the right track with these two but we couldve dived deeper the plot was really entertaining i will say, i thought 500 pages was long but i was chilling AND MY LORDY THE SPICE ANYONE CAN CALL ME LASS LIKE YES PLEASE defo read this people!!
4 ⭐️ Cute but a bit too long for the story it had to tell...
A lovely story with three Scottish hotties and an English influencer running from scandal. As cute as a sheep farm is, this didn't have to be this long. I loved Summer!! As an FMC, she was too sweet and naive at times, but her sense of style is sooooo up my alley omg! Fraser, Cam and Alec were amazing too, but this whole thing could've easily been 100 pages shorter.
All in all, though, I've missed Lilly Gold so much, and her books always make me so happy, so I'm just complaining to be nitpicky at this point.
"Not all heroes wear capes.” “No. Some wear dungarees with pockets full of hedgehogs,”

Highland Hideaway is a fun ride filled with pink sparkles, Scottish men, and adorable lambs. There is also a surprisingly more serious undercurrent that deals with the topic of ADHD in women, which I appreciate more light being shined on.
While I couldn't connect with the FMC on her...sparkly-ness...I could connect with her on a lot of her ADHD struggles which made this book hit me in unexpected ways. I feel like the topic of ADHD in women was represented well in this book. My experience with ADHD is not exactly the same as Summer's but it's similar enough and my feelings of inadequacy surrounding it matched hers almost exactly. I appreciate that Lily Gold was able to represent the struggles of women with ADHD respectfully.
Moving on from the more serious aspect though, this book was fun! Lily Gold produces the best why choose romances in my opinion. They are about more than just the spicy scenes...they have good plot lines with character arcs which creates a more well rounded story than many of the books in this sub genre and this book was no exception.
Summer was an interesting character. I had a hard time connecting with her at first because of how girly she is and because of her influencer life but once I got to know her a little better, I could appreciate those aspects of her personality. She ends up having a lot of character growth throughout the book and reading the journey of figuring out who she wants to be was sweet.
The men in this book all had unique personalities but I felt like Frasier fell a little flat. He was the sweetheart of the bunch but there isn't much backstory on him and he is just relegated to mediator most of time when it comes to the three men interacting. I enjoyed how his character interacted with Summer but felt he could have used a little more of his own story too. Cameron and Alec were a little more well rounded with their back story but the Alec and Cameron interactions got a little repetitive after a while. It made sense for the story in the end but while reading I found myself a little annoyed by those parts.
I felt the spice in this book was well done. It didn't overtake the story but was delicious when it was in there. You could feel the heat in most of the scenes, although I will say there wasn't a ton of tension.
All in all, I thought this was a good why choose romance and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys that sub genre.
I’m a little late with this review—I’m still juggling motherhood and life—but it’s finally here. I was accepted into the official ARC team for this book, and honestly? A dream come true.
Faking with Benefits was my very first why choose romance, and I was a goner from that moment on. As they say, you never forget your first love—and with Highlands Hideaway, I felt it. The writing, the vibes, that unmistakable Lily Gold magic—everything just worked.
What I loved most here was the contrast between the pink, sparkling energy of Summer and her struggles with ADHD, expectations, and rejection. It felt honest and heartfelt. I also adored the boys. They felt slightly more flawed than Lily’s previous characters, but I think that’s exactly why I connected with them even more.
Fraser was instant love—the sunniest of the group. Just like Summer, I was immediately drawn to him. His easygoing nature and warm aura were irresistible. He truly feels like the glue holding everyone together—sometimes even more so than Summer herself.
Cameron might have been my favorite. His physical struggles paired with that broody personality? Extremely appealing. He’s the kind of man who proves love through actions—cake pops? Homemade? Hello?? Of course he couldn’t be real.
And then there’s Alec. My sad, overwhelmed, overworked baby boy. I just wanted to hug him for the entire book. Even though he was the hardest for me to fully connect with, I deeply understood his struggles.
I do think Cameron and Alec’s “fight” could have been resolved between the sheets somewhere around the halfway mark—and yes, I’m a little sad it didn’t happen—but the book was amazing nonetheless.
The third-act breakup wasn’t my favorite trope, but the way they came back together to save the farm had me melting, giggling, and kicking my feet.
Overall: 4.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ A heartfelt, cozy, emotionally rich return from Lily Gold—and I loved every second of it.
Highland Hideaway - Lilly Gold I was given the opportunity to read this book as an ARC and I really enjoyed it. What a wonderful "why choose" story set in the Scottish Highlands. Yes, that's reason enough for a great story! We follow the story of Summer, a big name in the influencer world. She creates content about clothes and makeup every day. She prefers to wear pink designer clothes and has manicured nails. But she struggles with her own problems every day. She has ADHD and tries to hide it from the outside world. Until one day, she can no longer do that and has a meltdown in a restaurant bathroom. Naturally, her followers who were also there document it. Her reputation is ruined by this news. Her sponsor allows her to go to a wonderful retreat hotel in the Scottish Highlands. Where she can relax in the spa and recover from all the misery she's experienced recently. She arrives at the hotel, but there's no room for her. She's no longer welcome, she's been canceled, and she's left to fend for herself. She's looking for a place to stay for at least the night, and then she'll figure things out. She finds lodgings on a sheep farm half an hour from the hotel. Once there, she's welcomed by a grumpy sheep farmer who rents out a cottage to tourists. The next day, she truly realizes where she is. In a stunningly beautiful spot, in the Highlands, where three incredibly handsome men tend the sheep and the farm. That one night is extended because she wants a week off from all her online obligations. She discovers what else there is beyond her phone and being an online influencer.
I really enjoyed this story. Yes, there's spice to it, but the story itself is truly excellent. The men themselves have their own problems, and not everything is as it seems. This is highly recommended if you love handsome men, sweet sheep, life in the Scottish Highlands, and want to read more about life as an influencer.
I don't even need to say that I loved this like I always love a good book written by Lily Gold, it was definitely worth the wait!!!
Well I will try to express my love in a shorter review because I'm tired and I want to sleep but still I want to give a review.
The essential piece in her books is that she has the same blueprint if you like one 99.9% are the chances you will like all of them. And you ask, do I ever get tired of it? Well no I love this and I actually don't have a million of this to read unfortunately it only exists five of them and I have officially read them all...
The blueprint is: our three very handsome boys, one is the gold retriever of the group (in this case Fraser), the grumpy one you barely talks but is actually a huge softie (Cameron) and the black cat the one that is always the last to join the party (Alec). And the huge final act of groveling and declaration because they always mess up they are men what do you expect 😉
I think people are very quick to judge, and yes this books are smutty but aren't just that, they have a lot of representation which is important nowadays our main character Summer (that loved even if she uses the word pink to much for me, I am still making peace with that colour) has ADHD and struggled most of her life to get accepted, and the boys have their mental issues and trauma to deal with. Complex characters but mostly characters that resemble human beings are important (at least for me)
Dare to say that I loved the romance right? I said I was going to do a short review and well will you look at this 🫣
When I first heard she was opening this book up for ARCs, I knew it was the perfect time for me to apply for my first ever arc.
She knocked it out of the ballpark with this one folks. Summer is such a perfect representation of all things never said in books. We often read about the pretty side of life to help us escape from reality, however the diverse representation of Summer’s ADHD, her desire to be loved and not to disappoint anyone, even her split from her mum at the end is heartwarming to see. It helps those who do have ADHD and have been told all the things Summers mum said to her know they are not alone.
The character development from Alec was phenomenal. His overprotective nature and PTSD from the night his father died and best friend was injured was a wonderful representation as well. The pressure that Alec was feeling to do well was overcome by his love for Summer. Any man that goes to therapy to fix themselves for their partner is just a walking green flag for me.
Fraser was such a breath of fresh air in every situation. He loved Summer from the beginning, but also loves his best friends fiercely. The fact he endured the fighting from Alec and Cameron simply because he loved them both, knew both sides of their anger and fighting and still allowed them to come to terms and talk on their own was so sweet.
Cameron I believe was an underrated character, and I’m honestly a little disappointed we didn’t get much one on one time between him and Summer. It seemed to me he always was the last to be looked at even though he cared for summer’s needs so well. Fraser was good at the words and talking and sex, but Cameron took care of her physical needs as well. He made sure she was fed, her mind was in a good place, she wasn’t overwhelmed, and that she was taken care of. I almost felt like the other two men piggybacked off of Cameron and wish there would have been more scenes with just those two, unlike there was with Alec and Fraser was sort of disappointing to me.
Overall I think this is one of my favorite books she has written simply because the character development and representation was such a nice thing to see. I hope that Lily Gold continues to represent character more like the general public in her books like she did in this one. .
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
LILY GIRL YOU ARE GLOWING!!!!!! This book feels like a landmark in Lily Gold's career–every book she's published has been laced with some kind of addictive sparkle, but this is her at her best. It's like she took the best part of every one of her previous books and then perfected them... This book is deeply comforting, charming, laugh-out-loud funny, and so so romantic. Every one of these characters felt so complex–the complicated relationships between the men were just as compelling as their relationships with Summer. AND SUMMER!!! What a loveable FMC, she means so much to me. 🥺 This was the most thoughtful and accurate portayal of an adult woman with ADHD that I've read. And knowing the years-long journey Lily herself went on trying to bring this book into the world makes the emphasis on healing from burnout and the pressure that recovering high-achieving people pleasers put on themselves in their career even more hard-hitting. I was actually tearing up a bit watching it all come together in the end. 💖
Thank you to Lily Gold for the ARC of this incredible book! It was my first why choose and I’m hooked, every character has their own story and personality and I LOVED them all.
My only complaint as a Scottish highlander myself is that I’ve never met a farmer that looks or acts like these men do💔
When I found out that I had got approved to read @authorlilygold newest book ‘Highland Hideaway’ as an arc reader, I can’t even explain how excited I was. She has been one of my favourite authors for a long time. I have read every one of her books and every single one ended up being a 5 star read that would just make me SO happy. I’d laugh, cry and smile throughout, and this book is no exception.
Highland Hideaway follows Summer Faye, an influencer who has spent years masking her ADHD to fit in, people pleasing her way to the top, and losing herself on the way. When she’s suddenly cancelled, she finds herself in the Scottish Highlands with 3 gorgeous sheep farming Scotsmen. With gorgeous views, cute animals and men who love Summer the way she is (pink glitter, sparkles and all) - how will she ever return to the life she lived before?
I absolutely adored this book. As a woman with ADHD, I saw so much of myself in Summer and the representation was truly amazing. There was also something so healing about loving a character and also seeing yourself in them. Seeing Summer learn to unmask and be herself was inspiring. The men absolutely adored her and the YEARNING was sensational. This book was a lot more than just “smut” BUT Lily Gold does know how to write good spice and the spice was definitely spicing in this one.
If you like grumpy x sunshine, why choose books, rom-coms, cute animals (crumpet the lamb was the true main character), and 3 men that all bring something different to the table then … buy the book!!! it is SO very worth it.
