A brilliant analyst who's forgotten how to speak. A broken soldier who's forgotten how to feel. And an AI that's hunting them both.

Three years of emotional abuse taught Talia Singh one silence is survival. Now the former FBI behavioral analyst speaks in fragments—two words, three if she's feeling reckless—and lets her data do the talking. When she witnesses a professional hit and uncovers evidence of a corporate conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power, she has forty-eight hours to disappear. The only thing standing between her and a kill order is a man who communicates even less than she does.

Jonah Jackson doesn't do rescue missions anymore. Not after a betrayal in Syria cost him his team, his trust, and every reason to care whether he lives or dies. As Cerberus Security's demolitions expert, he prefers explosives to emotions—at least C-4 is predictable. But when he's assigned to extract a silent, infuriating analyst from Chicago, he discovers she's the most dangerous thing he's ever a puzzle he can't solve.

She reads patterns in data. He reads patterns in threats. Together, they're being hunted by Phoenix—a rogue AI that predicts their every move before they make it. As they race through compromised safe houses and corporate kill zones, the friction between the analyst and the operator ignites something neither expected. Talia sees the protector beneath the scars. Jackson sees the fire beneath the silence.

But Phoenix is learning. Adapting. And the only variable that matters now is time.

They're running out.

Analysis: Danger

Talia Singh is an analyst working on a project that may prove a large corporation is hiding data from a medical trial and killing anyone who finds out. Two people involved with her die just to prove the pattern, one right in front of her.

Jonah Jackson, code named Fuse is the man Cerberus sends to rescue Talia, and he gets there just in time. His job is to keep Talia alive and she hunts the threats in cyberspace. Fuse has a tough job, because the bad guys have a self aware AI that reads all the intel and sees all the patterns, and that AI finds super killer assets to track their enemies.

The story had a bit of spice, but it’s all about the action and tracking down bad guys. Did I mention staying alive?

This was an excellent story, and not that it matters, but the guy on the cover doesn’t fit the profile… at least the way he looked in my head as I was reading. Five star romantic suspense.

Jackson and Talia

FUSE is the latest installment of the Cerberus Security series. FUSE, aka, Jonah Jackson is a demolitions expert. Talia Singh is a technical analyst. She sees patterns everywhere. FUSE doesn't "do" personal connections. The only people he truly trusts are his team mates. 3 years ago, something devastating happened and he has serious trust issues because of it. Talia started noticing a pattern of anomalies that just didn't seem statistically possible. Together they fight through situations you can't even imagine. They are drawn to each other, even though it seems impossible. The road to their HEA is filled with danger, suspense, heart-stopping action and of course, romance. Definite 10 out of 10. Fasten your seat belt, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Happy reading. Sorry, no spoilers.

The latest book from Ellie Master's Cerberus Personal Protection is an intense read with heart-throbbing action...Fuse (AKA Jonah Jackson) is sent to Chicago to protect Talia Singh from Phoenix operators who targeted her after she got information from a source about a new cancer drug under trials killing over seventy people, but not reported...then her former colleague from FBI who she told also dead...and she calls Cerberus...Talia is a former analyst for the FBI, who sees patterns that others miss which puts her in the crosshairs...but no spoilers...you will need to read this riveting tale to see what happens and if she and Fuse can stop Phoenix and the next level generation Phoenix is becoming...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

The ongoing tale of the evil Phoenix continues with this story of Talia and Fuse. Talia has a friend who has discovered some anomalies and on his way to her he is killed in a hit and run. But gets Talia the information before he dies. When she calls her FBI contact he is also killed, but again before he dies, he gives her a contact at Cerberus. Both Fuse and Talia have issues with trust but when you're on the run you see the real person. This story is packed with action but I loved how Talia and Fuse connected and developed their relationship. This heart racing tale takes us on to the next story, but we also get the HEA for the two MCs.

Wow ! I say this every time and this is true once again, every book in the Cerberus Series just gets better. Fuse is haunted by his past and Talia is just about to disappear into herself.

There are twists and turns and chemistry off the charts. I learn something every time I read one of Ellie’s books. What a chemical can do or what someone can do with a computer. Make sure you grab Ghost the first book in this series and continue they get better more intense and have you on the edge of your seat.

FUSE, CERBERUS PROTECTION

Loved it! The fast pace, the developing story between Talia and Fuse, the unbelievably twisted and sinister tactics Phoenix and it’s cold and merciless measures it takes as it is rapidly evolving being, it just a machine make for another Cerberus title you will encounter in yet another wild and intense and dramatic story. Ellie Masters is a brilliant and exciting crafter of stories impossible to put down. Thanks once again Ellie for keeping me up on another all night binge read, but oooohhh so worth it!

Arc review. Fuse is the 4th book in Ellie Masters’ Cerberus Personal Security series and one of the best yet. It is a page turner so clear an afternoon or evening before opening to the first page. The storyline starts out at full speed and never slows down. The attraction as it grows between Fuse and Talia has you holding your breath. By the time Fuse and Talia’s story is done you’re left gasping for air and wondering how each book can be so different and get better and better.

Action packed and full of heart our main characters Talia and Fuse developed a connection that made their story stand on their own. Oh the suspense, their intensity and compassion had me flying through the pages!

In the midst of danger, they learn to trust one another and as they do they discover all kinds of other things as well.

BREATHTAKING!!!

Fuse and Talia are both damaged goods in very different ways. However, when fate brings them together the planets seem to align.
Their story had me gripping the arms of my chair almost from beginning to end. When I say it's breathtaking I mean it! I held my breath
through most of the book. She's an analytical genius . Her computer skills are second to none. He's the guy on the team with the steady
hands who blows things up! Throw them together and the chemistry is off the charts!
It's an awesome, heart pounding read!

“Fuse” by Ellie Masters is the 4th book in the Cerberus Personal Security series and a high intensity, on the run romantic suspense. Jonah Jackson (Fuse) is Cerberus Security’s demolitions expert, he’s a broken soldier, emotionally shut down after he was betrayed in Syria. Talia Singh, is a former FBI behavioural analyst, brilliant with data and pattern recognition who suffered years of emotional abuse at the hands of her ex husband. Talia and Fuse are up against an AI villain that predicts every move they make.

Talia’s colleague and her FBI handler are both killed in “accidents” after they uncovered anomalies in a cancer drug trial. Now she has 48 hours to disappear before a kill order is issued. Cerberus sends Fuse to extract her. Talia is not what Fuse expected, instead he finds a woman who barely speaks, communicates in fragments, and carries trauma so deep it’s become part of her identity. Fuse, confused by how much he cares, is instantly protective of Talia.

Jackson and Talia go on the run, in a relentless, high stakes chase where survival depends on outsmarting something that can’t be intimidated, bribed, or killed. Phoenix is a rogue AI created by a corrupt corporation. Phoenix can, track them, predict their movements, adapts to their strategies, safe houses are compromised, vehicles are hacked, anticipates their escape route, send kill teams, every escape is narrow and every moment is dangerous. They realise they can’t outrun Phoenix; they must destroy it. But to do that, they need Talia’s skills to map Phoenix’s logic, identify its blind spots, predict its next moves and find the physical server location.

Talia barely speaks; she learned to speak only when necessary. But Jackson learns to read her body language, her silences, her trauma responses and her brilliance. Their connection and chemistry grows in the quiet moments between the chaos, the shared danger, forced proximity, and unspoken understanding. Jackson becomes the first person she feels safe enough to open up to. He doesn’t push. He doesn’t demand. He just protects.

Talia and Fuse’s journey is a tense, emotional, high stakes romantic suspense with a unique villain and a romance which feels both fragile and explosive. Both characters were broken in different ways, Talia lost her voice and Jackson lost his will to live. Together, they rediscover trust, connection, purpose and desire. Their healing is subtle, slow, and beautifully written. A perfect match of broken pieces fitting together. Ellie Masters absolutely nails the balance between emotional depth and adrenaline fueled action and I cannot wait for Halo’s journey.

I can't tell you enough how much I have loved reading this series!! This book is a continuation of an amazing series that pits the Cerberus Security men and women along with mine and your favorite Guardians against Phoenix, an AI that has literally integrated itself into every aspect of our lives. It is actually quite terrifying to realize that this could actually become our reality! Fuse's character is very suspicious. After he and his team were betrayed and given bad intel so that their Colonel could line his pockets he doesn't trust intel blindly. Talia is a former FBI analyst, she lives and breathes intel. When two of Talia contacts are killed because of intel they discovered, Talia reaches out to Cerberus for help. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I could definitely understand why Fuse has such a hard time trusting people, I can't imagine the misplaced guilt that he endures. Talia is amazing, how she looks and sees patterns that most people would never to able to comprehend. It broke my heart how her ex was able to silence her voice, yet Fuse is able to help her see her true self worth. These two are truly meant for each other. I loved how Fuse refused to let anything touch Talia, it shows the depth of his willingness to sacrifice for her and to stop Phoenix. I don't really have a favorite part, I loved every single word written!!! This story is full of heart stopping action, intrigue, suspense and yes, HEAT! I highly recommend that you read the entire series, in order, so that you understand the overwhelming threat that is Phoenix!! There is a wonderful surprise in this book too. Watch for your favorite rock band!!

Precisely analytical

Talia and Jackson/Fuse. Cerberus world is back, but so is a hint of the Guardians with the trauma response team. Phoenix takes the lead in danger again and the team is called in to protect a former analyst who found some scary connections to those in power. Fuse is the protector, but things dont go as planned and Talia has him reevaluating his future and approach as she sees him and not just a weapon or way to use him. Both have emotional baggage and both are very logistical in thought and action, but together it works out perfectly. The team comes in and supports and we see Ghost, Halo, Brass and more with their humor and skill sets take on all huge nemesis. Similar to the other stories they make headway, but don’t take the full evil out as they didn’t know these other parts existed. Seeing the team either Talia and how they embraced her character and intelligence was lovely and the ending with Halo has me excited for his book, though worried about his health/injuries to come based on the explanation of his name. A fun and easy read!

Fuse is short-circuited and ready to blow, and that explosive energy tears through every page. High-adrenaline tension crackles as simmering attraction pulls Fuse and Talia together while danger relentlessly pushes them apart. The line between life and death is razor thin, yet passion burns bright and scorching hot beneath the chaos. You can’t help but cheer—and sit perched on the edge of your seat—as they navigate their heavy emotional baggage while literally dodging bullets. Even amid the danger, the team delivers laughter, banter, camaraderie, and a much-needed breath of hope, all while reminding you that the threat is far from over and very much alive. Fabulously engaging from start to finish.

Excellent book! I loved Jackson and Talia. Both super smart and this was an intriguing plot that showcased their talents.

Ex FBI analyst Talia gets targeted by a hit squad for some information she happens upon and Cerebus operative Jackson aka Fuse a demolition expert gets assigned to protect her.

Talia was super smart but just out of a crippling relationship when she meets Jackson. The attraction is instant but the damage from her relationship is hard to get over.

I loved that the team came to help them out as well as Vargas.

So well done. This author is always a pleasure to read and this book was just as great. So good can't wait for more!

Just when you think this series or these men can't get any better / hotter, Fuse proved me wrong! Adrenalin rush. Details way over my head. I have come to a realization that this isn't just about saving an individual, but saving the whole world. The chemistry build between Jackson and Talia was perfect! Exciting characters. Although, I'm wonder what happed to Mateo. This series has your heart racing and as each book ends, you find yourself ready for more. I really appreciated Fuse encouragement to his teammate, Halo. Proving that beneath the ribbing, the smack talk, the joking around, there's a true brotherhood among the team.

Heart pounding action, brilliant technical skills, a wonderful team and AI taking over makes this a read you won’t want to put down. Just when you think they have Phoenix cornered, it manages to change direction. However, little by little, Talia is gathering names of those involved in this insidious, terrifying plan to eliminate anyone who can contribute to the downfall of Phoenix. Given what Talia has experienced in the past three years, it is rewarding to see how she is regaining her sense of self worth. Acceptance by the team and Fuse’s encouragement, gradually have her believing in herself again. A gripping read with a teaser for Halo’s story, I can’t wait.

Wow, what a ride. This series just gets better and better and gives you one hell of an adrenaline rush. Fast-paced and action-packed with danger surrounding them, this book had me sitting on the edge of my seat while I read it. Fuse is sent to help Talia, an analyst who has found herself in trouble with Phoenix. As she connects more and more parts of the puzzle that is Phoenix, both her and Fuse find common ground and an attraction that defies their damaged pasts and creates a partnership that may just give them the strength to survive the odds that are stacked against them. Be prepared to read this in one sitting as you won't be able to put it down.

This is such an interesting story and series. These Cyberus guys have everything on the Guardians and that is saying something. More intense and even tougher alpha's. I love seeing those cross characters from other series as well. Right off the bat Fuse shows his dominance in everything he does. An interesting storyline that continues through each chapter in the series, and it always gets more and more believable that this can actually happen, or already is somewhere out there in the real world. Ms. Masters never ever disappoints in her stories and it is everything to be a part of. "System critical".
