Dios es Bueno
God is Good is the story of the transformational power of faith in our everyday lives. While the world portrays God as wrathful and scolding, our Heavenly Father is the most loving kind of father. He wants for all of His children to live in safety, joy, health, and prosperity, free of worry, sickness, and sorrow.
Margaret Liu Collins was born in China during a time of wartime strife, born a girl in a culture that values males, and later found herself in a marriage filled with ridicule and abuse with two young children to care for. By learning to seek, recognize, and heed God's voice, she was able to welcome the abundance that God offered: a life of spiritual riches, financial abundance, exuberant health, and loving relationships. All of this came about, not because of any exceptional qualities of her own, but because God is Good.

What It Looks Like When God Rewrites a Life.
Margaret Liu Collins' story is unlike anything else I've read in this genre. What strikes me most isn't just that she overcame hardship — it's the scale of the transformation. She came from China with almost nothing, entered a marriage that became abusive and controlling, and was ultimately abandoned by the man who was supposed to be her partner, left to raise her children alone. Most people would have been permanently defined by that kind of loss.
Instead, with limited English and no safety net, Margaret found her footing in San Francisco real estate and, through sheer perseverance and faith, rose to become one of the top brokers in the city — eventually founding her own brokerage and being named one of the "150 Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business." That alone would be a remarkable story. But she didn't stop there — she went on to become a successful investor, founding her own investment management firm, and today she sits on boards at Grace Cathedral, and the San Francisco Symphony, and gives generously through philanthropic work — including endowing medical research chairs at UCSF in her father's honor — all while remaining someone who credits Jesus Christ for every step of it.
What makes this book so powerful is that it isn't a polished success story with the hard parts smoothed over. Margaret is honest about the pain, the control, the abandonment, and the fear of starting over with almost nothing. That honesty is what makes the faith in these pages feel earned rather than performative. This isn't just an immigrant success story — it's a story about what it looks like when someone refuses to let their worst chapter be their last one, and gives God the credit for rewriting the rest.

Review: God is Good by Margaret Liu Collins
God is Good is a heartfelt and inspiring testimony of how unwavering faith can completely transform a life, no matter how broken or burdened it may begin. Margaret Liu Collins opens her heart to readers in this revised second edition, sharing a story that is as personal as it is universally hopeful. Her journey, from a war-torn childhood in China, to the pain of living in a culture and a marriage that diminished her worth, to ultimately discovering her divine identity, is both powerful and deeply moving.
What makes this book stand out is how clearly and compassionately Margaret presents the goodness of God. At its core, God is Good isn’t about religion, it’s about relationship. She dismantles the common, damaging image of God as wrathful or distant and instead paints a picture of a loving Father who desires joy, abundance, and peace for His children. Her story becomes living proof of that promise.
As she recounts how her life shifted emotionally, financially, spiritually, through obedience and trust in God's voice, Margaret invites readers to do the same. This book doesn’t preach; it uplifts. It gently guides you to see your circumstances through a lens of faith and possibility.
God is Good is both a memoir and a declaration. Whether you’re new to faith or looking to reignite your trust in God's plan, this book is a beautifully written reminder that no situation is too hopeless, and no person too broken, for God's transformative love.
Rating: 5/5
A moving, faith-affirming read that reminds us of God’s boundless love and how a life surrendered to Him can overflow with grace, purpose, and abundance.

Deepening Your Relationship with God
This book is the author’s testament of the transformative power of faith and the unwavering goodness of God. The author talks about the transition of her own spiritual evolution, from feeling fearful and uncertain to an understanding of God’s love.
She shares her struggles with a fear-based perception of God believing in divine punishment. For me, the feeling that God is going to strike me down with a bolt of lightning because I am not perfect is real until, like the author, I found out that the bolt of lightning is not real. Collins’ writing is humble and relatable.
Divided into three parts, the book delves into important everyday matters, such as, freedom from toxic relationships, discerning God’s will, and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. This book is a spiritual roadmap. I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking to deepen their relationship with God.

God Is Good, by Margaret Liu Collins, Revised Second Edition, is an inspirational novel about the author herself, and her pilgrimage of experiencing the transforming power of God in her life. This book is about how Collins overcame abuse, financial struggles, and ethnic hurdles. Collins's book is an emotional yet optimistic ride, I believe written to inspire people to know, truly know, that God is always with them. No matter how terrible the situation one is going through, or how badly a person feels about themselves, they can rest assured God will never leave them. And He has a plan for each of their lives.
I would definitely give, God Is Good, by Margaret Liu Collins, five stars. Collins has earned an amazing review for using her own experience to encourage all who suffer that it’s not for ought.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I found it to be a profound exploration of the transformative impact of faith. As someone who firmly believes in the goodness of God, this book resonated deeply with me. The author challenges prevailing notions, beautifully depicting a loving Heavenly Father who desires well-being for His children. The narrative is uplifting, portraying God not as wrathful, but as a source of unwavering love and benevolence. The book skillfully intertwines personal stories, scriptural insights, and practical wisdom, making it a compelling guide for navigating life's challenges with faith. I found it very inspiring considering the author’s background that she was able to have faith in the goodness of God despite the circumstances of her upbringing. If you seek a reaffirmation of the goodness of God and a guide to a life rooted in faith, this book is a must-read.

This is a memoir detailing one woman's walk in faith through moments of sorrow, tragedy, difficulties, successes and joys. I appreciated hearing ways in which she felt faith had a hand in her life, and I wish that the story maintained that focus. It is filled with countless stories, some of them quite jolting; however, it becomes a very evangelical piece of writing. You will find many bible verses and belief systems with explanations. This will resonate with readers who are looking to learn more about Christianity or are looking to read about a fellow believer's testimony. I really struggle to rate memoirs, as they require authors to put themselves out there for all to see. Overall, I feel like this will be enjoyed by a selected audience.

Margaret Liu Collins’ book, God is Good 2nd. ed. is a deeply spiritual and inspirational book for readers who look for a Higher Power to help them with their life struggles.
Collins inserts Biblical passages from the text that serve as comfort for the readers. Verses such as “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’”(Psalms 32:8 NLT) They illustrate the recognition of faith in the life of a religious or spiritual person.
The author also uses examples from her own life in which she felt God's presence encouraging and aiding her in times of trouble. One of the most dramatic chapters recounts her abusive first marriage when she relied on God's strength to help her persevere through the tremendous physical and emotional abuse and give her courage to rebuild her life with her children when the marriage came to an end.
God is Good is an excellent book for the spiritual and religious minded person to remind them that they are not alone.

Reading from God
This is definitely the type of reading that I like the most. It is enriching and fills many gaps that can occur in life.
From its cover to its content, it is full of color and hope. It is a book that can be recommended with the certainty that it will not make you look bad. It is an agile read, where the writer takes you by the hand telling her life story.
At the end of each chapter, there is a drawing where she explains the chapter in case there is any doubt. I was struck by these drawings because they are of what can happen to you at any time of life. They are not elaborate or anything like that, giving a touch of humor to the reading, without losing the seriousness of the subject.

In "God is Good", author Margaret Liu Collins recounts her experience and what she learned in the relationship with God. It is one of those books that I find by chance and when I begin to read it, I realize that I had had these same beliefs for years. I am very happy to find these words written down with which I share so much.
God is good, just like that, is what I always believed. Without punishment, without judgment, with constant mercy and love.
The author had a complicated life that became an enriching experience since she let God into her life.
It is an excellent book that combines passages from the Bible with very illustrative images. I recommend it!

Oh man I cannot believe how much this author has been through, good and bad. Her story is very inspiring for sure. I actually ordered a physical copy of this for my mother since her birthday was just yesterday and thankfully it arrived in time for me to give it to her. This is certainly her kind of book. She has been reading a lot of Max Lucado and other Christian authors and even more since her father passed away this past winter. I really hope she enjoys it. I would definitely recommend it to other readers who read similar books to her. I think even though I do not read a lot of Christian authors, I still thought this book was good.

a profoundly moving book
I really enjoyed this book. It was full of the promises that God keeps with his children when they have an intimate relationship with him. The author provided many heartfelt examples of how God showed up in her life, proving that he is always there and available for those that want a relationship with him and those that strive to be in communion with his instruction and guidance This was a wonderful account of the Miracles God wants to perform in our lives. I recommend this book to the struggling Christian.

This is from someone with the authority to do so
Not everyone has to go through torturous situations to be a faithful believer in God's will, but for me, those who have gone through the worst and still strengthen their faith are the ones who deserve to be heard the most. This author's story is admirable and I think the way she brings readers closer to God is most organic and functional. It is true, many people believe in God for fear of being punished, the book shows us that God is life, He is the light that allows us to walk without fear during the storms. This book is excellent.

Beyond whether or not you are a believer in God, I love the way the author conveys a message of love in the great sense of the word. The encounter with God as a result of her personal experience, makes me think about how beautiful human beings can be when they find their spiritual purpose.
This book is a message in itself, it is the best way to learn to find yourself through love.

After reading "God is Good: Revised Second Edition" by Margaret Liu Collins, I was deeply moved by her story. Growing up in war in China, she faced many hardships, including an abusive marriage and cultural challenges. What really struck me was how her unwavering faith guided her through these tough times. Instead of just memorizing religious teachings, she lived her faith daily, which led to real, positive changes in her life.
