This is really three and a half stars rounded up. I’ll probably make enough of the recipes for the book to earn its place on my bookshelf. For the most part, the recipes use common ingredients and are quick to assemble. They do use a lot of convenience foods, but substituting fresh ingredients is simple and straightforward. Also, I’m a fan of pictures in cookbooks and this one doesn’t have any,

Fresh ingredients are best.

I like to cook with fresh ingredients. This book uses too many canned, frozen and pre- made ingredients. These kinds of things usually contain too much sugar and salt and preservatives.
