Luke and Eli were legendary when I was sixteen. Beautiful. Inseparable. Tragic.
Back then, they were the hot college guys that every girl swooned over, but knew we couldn’t have. Because they were destined to be with each other. Except that’s not how it ended.
After four years away, I returned to Maple Crossing with good to help my pregnant friend with her candy company’s holiday rush. But when I realized that her brother never got together with his best friend, I couldn’t stop obsessing over it. Luke and Eli are clearly soulmates, clearly destined to be together. If I can see it, why can’t they? I swear I wasn’t trying to meddle. Okay, maybe a little. But my plan was perfect. After all, all they needed was a gentle nudge, and they would realize they were meant to be. These two gorgeous men who were the highlight of my high school years (okay, maybe I obsessively stalked them) deserve to finally find love.
So what if they can’t be in the same room without fighting? I know exactly how to fix that.
So what if my favorite relationship podcaster says my plan is terrible, but what does Aimee know, anyway?
She thought they belonged to each other. Turns out, they belong to her too.
Mioko never plans to fall for them. Luke and Eli were the tragic soulmates she watched from afar when she was sixteen, and now she’s back in their orbit with one goal: get them to finally admit how they feel. But soulmates come with history. Missed chances and unspoken truths still haunt them. What starts as matchmaking slowly turns into something else entirely.
Luke is anxious and unraveling. Eli is guarded and still bleeding from the past. Mioko is the chaos they never saw coming. One woman’s attempt to heal an old connection sparks a slow burn of tangled emotions, tension-filled glances, and heat that won’t be ignored. When everything breaks open, none of them walk away unchanged.
They don’t mean to share her. She doesn’t mean to stay. But when they stop fighting what’s real, the three of them begin building something that’s equal parts messy, grounded, and undeniable. No rules, no roadmap. Just trust, desire, and the kind of love that makes room for all of them.
Mioko starts on the outside looking in, but finds her way into something deeper than she expected. Luke learns to stop hiding what he wants. Eli opens himself up to vulnerability he swore he'd buried. Together, they build a connection that's honest, intimate, and worth the risk.
A steamy, small town, high heat, MMF polyamory romance with meddling matchmaker energy, friends to lovers tension, swords cross heat, forced proximity, and second chance longing. It explores identity, emotional vulnerability, healing from past trauma, chosen family, trust, self-worth, and intimacy. It’s about learning to trust again, embracing love that doesn’t fit a mold, and choosing connection over fear. At its heart, it’s about being seen, held, and chosen for exactly who you are.
The Elevator Pitch: Two soulmates are pushed back together by the woman who never stopped believing they belonged to each other, only to realize there's room for something more. What starts as a matchmaking scheme turns into a messy, magnetic MMF love story full of sharp edges, slow healing, and tangled sheets. Snow’s falling, feelings are rising, and no one’s walking away untouched.
This started pretty funny with all the tricks Mioko got up to trying to get Luke and Eli back together and then it got fairly sweet/warm fuzzy and then it shifted along to some very spicy bits. It's a fairly quick read and it was kind of refreshing to read about someone trying to get 2 people together that she cares about without also trying to get together with either of them herself (even if that is what ends up happening). The supporting cast was also quite fun and assisted with some of the comedic moments. I really liked that the 3 of them took the time to talk to each other instead of just making assumptions about everything. This is definitely worth a read if you're looking for something that's not too long, is fun and has some good spice.

This was a fantastic RH with the perfect amount of angst and spice!
We meet meddlesome Mioko, whose desperately trying to repair the fractured relationship between Luke and Eli after 6 years apart. Unbeknown to her, our MMC's fall for her too, desperately trying to convince her that she's the missing piece in their relationship and the perfect fit for them.

How to Come Between Soulmates by Kristin Lance is one of those rare romances that feels like a warm hug, a comedy of errors, and a gut-level emotional revelation all rolled into one. It’s funny, tender, chaotic, and unexpectedly profound—a story about soulmates, yes, but also about how love doesn’t always follow the script we write in our heads.
Mioko returns to Maple Crossing with nothing more dramatic in mind than helping her pregnant friend survive the holiday candy rush. But the moment she sees Luke and Eli again—the two beautiful, inseparable, tragic boys she once adored from afar—her teenage heart kicks back to life.
They were supposed to end up together. Everyone knew it. She definitely knew it. Except… they didn’t.
Now, grown and bruised from a silent seven-year rift, Luke and Eli can barely be in the same room without arguing. That should be Mioko’s sign to back off. And she even asks for advice—calling into her favorite relationship podcast as “M.” The podcaster’s advice? Do. Not. Meddle.
Naturally, Mioko does the opposite.
What follows is deliciously entertaining: accidental run-ins that aren’t accidents, failed reconnections, chaotic schemes, and laugh-out-loud hijinks. Mioko is a walking storm of sincerity and good intentions, and honestly? You can’t help loving her for it.
But the book doesn’t stay just funny—Kristin Lance gives it a heartbeat.
As Luke and Eli are nudged into each other’s orbit, we see the cracks they’ve carried for years, the longing they never dealt with, and the love that never really disappeared. And underneath Mioko’s determination is something heartbreakingly relatable: the desire to fix what once felt magical, to give someone else the happy ending you still believe in.
Except that somewhere along the way, the story shifts. There’s heat. There’s honesty. There are conversations instead of assumptions. And suddenly the idea of soulmates becomes bigger, deeper, more expansive than any of them imagined.
Because maybe Luke and Eli were meant to be together. Maybe Mioko was meant to be part of that story too. Maybe there’s room for three hearts instead of two.
Kristin Lance weaves a beautifully offbeat romance about healing old wounds, opening doors that were slammed shut, and finding unexpected love exactly where the meddling begins. It’s quick, warm, spicy, and full of characters who feel like they’d step off the page and help you decorate cookies in a heartbeat.
If you love: 🎄 Small-town shenanigans 💗 Love triangles that turn into something softer and sweeter 😂 A meddling heroine with chaotic energy and a good heart 🔥 Bi awakening, slow-burn longing, and late-night truths 👨❤️👨 + ❤️🔥 A genuine, tender M/M/F romance
…then this book will absolutely charm you.
How to Come Between Soulmates isn’t really about breaking people apart—it’s about realizing love can take unexpected shapes, heal old fractures, and bring three lonely people into the place they were always meant to be… together.

When "M" calls into Aimee Hale's weekly podcast, The Aimee Position, wanting to reunite two best friends who had a falling out 7 years prior, she is given unfiltered advice-- do not meddle into their relationship!!! But like most callers into that podcast, "M" (aka Mioko) refuses to listen to Aimee's advice. As a teen, she secretly watched Luke and Eli's interactions and saw that these two were destined to be together, even if they themselves had yet to recognize it. The fact that they had a falling out and were no longer talking was proof that they desperately needed her help to reunite and recognize that which is noticeable to everyone but themselves--- they love each other.
Luke is currently living in Boston but is back in town while his sister is on pregnancy bedrest to help his moms run their family candy store. Eli still lives locally, working at the Honeyfern Inn with his grandfather. Now all Mioko needs to do is to get them in the same place at the same time to get them on speaking terms again. She is a meddling matchmaker with a heart of gold, which after numerous attempts (both failed and successful) to achieve her goal, the men discover that she is the one responsible for their paths continuing to cross. Will the men put aside their pride and make up? Will they look more closely at Mioko and get to know her better in heart, body and soul? Is there only room for two people to be soulmates or is it possible for three people to be destined to be together? Mioko knew what Luke and Eli needed before they did. Will they open their hearts to see what she needs as well?
This is a beautiful story. The FMC and MMCs are complex, likeable and relatable. You can feel the hurt and misunderstanding between leads and you just can't help rooting for them to get their heads out of their behinds and see what is clearly right in front of their eyes. They just need to be willing to reach for it. This is a short read with a guaranteed HEA. A definite must read.
How to come between soulmates was a nice, quick and super spicy read.
If you are looking for a strong plot, or a high emoitonal story, this might not be the book for you. I read this as a spicy, easy-going novella and overall it was good. The premise was intriguing, helping to socalled soulsmates get together, and ening up in the middle. And the first part of the book delivered, with some light meddling, some unwanted miscommunications, and a bit of general chaos. All good fun. But then, when we finally get the reunion, it didn't deliver the expected amount of feelings, there's a bit of talk, some apologies, and all's well what ends well. That's when the spice comes, and basically never leaves.
There are a couple of points where the POV get mixed up, or where the names don't corresponds to che character, which was a bit confusing in group scenes, but nothing major.
The why choose aspect of the story was like the rest, mentioned in passing and quickly resolved.
It might have been a great read if the author took the time, and the pages, to get mor in depth on some themes, but like this it was still pleasent, especially because it was quick.
Kristin Lance's How to Come Between Soulmates is a spicy MMF romance with a genuine holiday heart.
Mioko may have had a crush on Luke and Eli when she was a teenager (and maybe still does), but she has always believed the two men were destined for each other. Even though they are no longer speaking, she is determined to fix what they broke. So she decides to meddle. And meddle she does. But when her matchmaking finally works, Luke and Eli are not willing to let her slip away. They may be two sides of the same coin, yet Mioko fills a space neither of them realized was empty.
I love the concept of this new Anime Position Series, where a love, sex, and relationship podcaster gives advice to fans, even if they do not follow it. Mioko certainly does not. Fans of Lance will recognize Aimee from Gamers Rules, but you will not miss anything if you have not read it. This series stands on its own.
If you enjoy stories filled with misguided matchmaking, heartfelt holiday moments, and steamy MMF chemistry, this one is for you.

I loved this book. It was such a fun and sweet romance. Great world building and wonderful characters. The premise originally gave me flashbacks to a manga I used to read called Kiss Him, Not Me where the heroine would fantasize about the cute boys dating (meanwhile they were only interested in her), and she would inadvertently bring them into situations where they interacted and supported each other and she'd happily daydream whenever they got close. No mm in that series sadly, and she ended up with one of the group of interested guys (and one handsome girl).
Here, heroine Mioko actively tried to bring Eli and Luke together- her matchmaking schemes not always working, but not always failing either. A lot of history between the two guys that needed unearthing; the pull between them still there despite the years apart. And perhaps as emotions and situations shift, there's room for three people to find love instead of just two. 5 stars
4.5 stars. This story is mostly triple lead POV, well written, and a spicy, almost second chance, contemporary Christmas ménage romance between ex-best friends, Eli (the male dominant lead) and Luke (the male submissive lead), and their matchmaker, Mioko (the female switch lead). I enjoyed Mioko’s focus on Luke and Eli, and empathised with her desperation to bring about their happy ending, given her history. I enjoyed Luke’s ready admission of what he wanted. I enjoyed Eli’s grudging acceptance of what he wanted and had missed in Luke’s absence. I laughed at Mioko’s hijinks. I enjoyed the spicy, erotic intimate scenes. I enjoyed the emotional moments. I enjoyed the supportive secondary characters and the very happy ending.

I enjoy Kristin Lance’s books, and this one had a promising start, but ultimately I wasn’t all that happy with it. Mioko has decided she has to play matchmaker for Luke and Eli. She believes they are soulmates and need to reconcile. I’m not sure I understood why she was so bent on bringing these two guys together. She only had a passing relationship with them so I couldn’t figure out what her motivation was. I also thought that things moved a little too quickly to be believable. Eli is sure he is straight, yet within no time he is kissing Luke. And from there their relationship was full on and they were seducing Mioko into joining them. The spicy times were very spicy, but ultimately the story just felt off.

This book was a quick spicy read. I wouldn’t say it’s instant love since they had been best friends for years. They just needed some help getting back together in each others lives.
I really enjoyed how the main focus was the guys relationship together and she just fit in perfectly with them. Lots of group scenes and light bdsm elements.
It was a super cute small town romance. I’m happy they figured things out because they totally deserve to love one another. There wasn’t a lot in regards to Christmas but did involve the winter and holiday season. There was a sleigh ride and Christmas dinner with family.
I could understand why mioko would be hesitant but she also deserves love after escaping a cult.

This is a yummy holiday themed MMF romance. This story is about Luke and Eli who were once inseparable in school but now seven years later they are not speaking. Mioko is the MFC who has always had a bit of a crush on these guys but just assumed they would be endgame. So she's surprised when she returns to town and sees they are not together. She makes plans to bring them back together. She doesn't realize at the time that she will also be a part of this relationship. This was such a sweet but spicy story and I really loved it. The three of them just seemed like they were meant to be together.
This was such a cute but hot story - that vacillated well between those 2 extremes.
I loved the Eli-Luke storyline; best friends who become estranged and reconnect back with a bi-awakening. Loved it. Mioko as the missing piece of the equation that completes them, let's go. The smut is spicing and I would definitely recommend this book for that hotness.
Where I docked a star - plot had holes and felt a little contrived at times. It's a novella but there could've been a tad bit more character development, although I did enjoy the sneaks into their pasts with the bread crumb details that were dropped.
This was an entertaining and spicy read. Mioko is looking to help her two friends find their way back together. She's definitely meddling but is shocked when Luke and Eli make up and include her in their relationship. The guys realized she was the reason they kept 'bumping' into each other (she definitely made good use of her stalking intel. Lol!) and fell hard for her, too. Expect to get caught up in the perfect amount of angst that flames things up and the hot spice as they all work their way to a fab HEA. Good fun!
When Mioko phones into the Aimee Position about her friends Luke and Eli she gets advice she decides to ignore. Luke and Eli were soulmates until Luke moved to Boston. 6 years later and back in town to help his mums, Luke and Eli finds themselves being thrust into each others company. When Mioko finds herself trapped with them both, a game of Truth or Dare brings to light revelations that will change all their lives. Hot, steamy and sweet, this is a beautiful holiday novella with three POVs that will make you smile as you read it and follow the journey that all three take.
HOW TO COME BETWEEN SOULMATES is book 1 in The Aimee Position series. It's a steamy, MMF, Bi-awakening, second-chance Christmas romance of sorts. Eli and Luke were two best friends until they had a falling out. Mioko always crushed on them from afar but always felt they were soulmates. Mioko is determined to help them discover they are meant to be together. And it may just work as they realize she is meant to be in their throuple. Expect some laughs, some tears, lots of hot chemistry and a happy ending. I loved it.
Ok, y'all! I don't think you're ready for this! Never has there been a hotter "friends to forever"! Get ready for the meddler to get meddled and for the hottest, happiest of ever afters! Is there angst? only enough for the super hot, super sweet, irresistible dynamic duo to quash in delicious flames and heat. Absolutely going on my special forever shelf!.

This book was funny, witty, steamy and emotional all in this short novella that has an amazing love triangle and on top of it all this takes place in a small town! I really loved the pacing, it was a faster read, and I loved the characters. I recommend this book for the banter, storyline and overall character development!.

Mioko rather than heeding the advise of Aimee's advice show, meddles in the relationship of Eli and Luke. However, when it backfires on her, the outcomes are deliciously erotic. These three fall into the perfect throuple so easily and it's beautiful to watch. Loving this first book in the new series and can't wait to read more.

Another book that I enjoyed. This one was a bit different with a 'matchmaker,' and a longtime admirer trying to help two meant-to-be souls find their way back to each other.
It is also part of the Podcast caller series.
I enjoyed the humor, spice, the community, and the individuals. Always enjoy Kristin's books - never feel like throwing them (which is good since they are ebooks).

Small town kids, one goes off to the ending city for college, returns home to help family business, reconnects with old friends and potential loves he left behind. This book is fast, not super detailed oriented, just an old classmate that had a long distance crush trying to get together two soulmates who never made it work past the anger of one leaving. In the end the three together make the perfect throuple. And they lived happily ever after.
It is a cute story with lots of steamy encounters between the three. The conflict between Eli and Luke didn't get dragged out which was good but their decision to include Mioko into their relationship seemed too quick. Overall, it was a really good start to a new series.

Thanks to BookSprout for a copy of How to Come Between Soulmates.
Loved: I love a good friends-to-lovers plot. This one has a bit of tension thrown in as Eli and Luke are estranged at the start, but our meddling Mioko is there to help them out. There are fun hijinks all around and the spice is fabulous.
Didn’t Love: Luke and Eli made up just a tiny bit quick for my liking, but it’s a shorter book so we’ve got to move fast
This book had me gasping. I love the love triangle between all three of them. This book will make you feel the love and hurt between all 3 characters and you will feel the love that comes between them when they start realizing they all belong together.

Want a quick, novella length read with high heat MM and MMF spice and sweet lovin'? This might be for you. Mioko tries to get her friends Luke and Eli together, having noticed the connection between them for years. I can't wait to see who else is involved in this series in the future.

Meddling Mix up Mioko knows that Luke and Eli are met to be together, even with the years and angry between them, so, she meddles. I liked how her meddling ended up with her mixed up with their relationship and stuck tight in the middle. These three together are red-hot and I loved every bit of their steam. A great read.
I love that this was a story that began with Mioko trying to play matchmaker for Eli and Luke when she returned to find that they in fact had not. Kristin does such a great job of writing poly romances in a way that isn't fetishizing and tackles some very real issues that tend to take place within these sorts of relationships.
