Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life he told her to go have fun.

During those seconds she isn't writing she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.

Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.

She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres..

She also writes under the name Mikela Q. Chase

Two stubborn men clashing, fighting to see who is more determined to win—or hold out, as the case may be—can be quite the spectacle. And personally, when it is well done, I have to admit I enjoy watching them struggle for superiority… In this story, Rain has good reason to remain quiet, and Greg has a need for him to break his silence; he sees it as a sign of trust from Rain to open up. I can totally understand each man’s side of the argument, so I sat back and watched the fireworks go off in anticipation of finding out how Rain and Greg would manage to settle their differences.

Rain is a passionate photographer. When he focuses on his subject, he forgets where he is and doesn’t see anything else. This explains his predicament and the problem with the pictures he has taken when all he was looking for was a few images with crows. Since he is alone, and doesn’t want to endanger any of his friends, he decides to hide with Greg, a Dom he spent an unforgettable weekend with a while ago. The only problem is that Rain is a commitment-phobe, and Greg wants a relationship.

Greg is a Dom, and not the by-the-hour kind. He believes in the lifestyle, and wants Rain for himself 24/7. You can see the problem coming, right? As soon as Rain walks into his house, Greg believes it is a commitment, and with Rain being dependent on being allowed to stay, he isn’t honest about not wanting the same thing. Of course, Greg finds out, and yes, the “punishment” is tension-filled and super hot. But Greg is also protective and has a few “friends in high places”…

If you like stories about overpowering Doms who stride to their sub’s rescue, if you like it when the sub in question doesn’t exactly fall over himself to please the Dom, and if you’re looking for a read that is full of tension (sexual and otherwise) and very hot, then you will probably enjoy this novella.

Uggh. Didn't like Raine at all. He disparaged other Dom/Sub relationships. He thought Doms and the subs that adored them, were idiots. He thought he was above them because he liked to think for himself. I have no freaking idea why he likes to play submissive when he has so much self-loathing being one. This story was not for me.

This is a short tale that is a part of the Alpha series, called Seducing Rain. We have Rainer Lemmon a commitment-shy submissive that has had one of the greatest weekends ever in his BDSM history and he ran away immediately afterward. Greg Carter is a Dom that owns one of the hottest clubs in the area and he is bored. The only time that boredom has been sated was during the weekend he had with Rain. After sending numerous texts and calls he is just about to give up. A Dominant doesn’t chase a sub forever. As Rain avoids Greg he does his job as a photographer and as he is chasing his wily crow subject; he unwittingly snaps a picture of something he shouldn’t have. When he discovers what he has done, he goes back to the only man he can think of. Sure Greg doesn’t know he is hiding at first, but at least Rain can enjoy being his sub until the heat blows over. But things never go as planned, and even though he tried to keep Greg innocent of why he was there, soon the both of them are fleeing a crazed cop, and getting closer than ever.

I loved Greg. I liked that he had emotions and wasn’t just the strong, cold type. He was the kind of Dom you’d love to have. He listened and knew what Rain needed. Greg didn’t back down after he discovered why Rain had come back to him. Personally not sure I could have been as understanding. You could see that he cared deeply for him and wanted the chance to prove that they could be great together. Rain was an interesting submissive. Ex soldier but he didn’t want to be the 24/7 type of submissive. The fact that he was commitment-shy was fun to watch, and I liked how Greg broke down his walls. My only complaint would be of course I wish it was longer but still it had a great storyline. The sex was hot but not too overabundant, the action was interesting, and of course we got our happy ending. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend picking up the whole series.

Amber Kell’s addition to the ALPAS series is one story I have been dying for since reading Wooing Master Jones. Greg Stephen’s brother gets his story in Seducing Rain.
Greg is a dom. He runs a BDSM club. He gets to see many doms have their happy ending. He lost the sub that would give him his happy ending. Rain.
Rain is a freelance photographer. When he photographs a cop killing another cop by accident he runs to Greg for protection. But he doesn’t tell Greg it’s for protection. He tells him it is because he wants to be with him again.
The truth eats away at Rain, but when he has to come clean with Greg ever forgive him?
I liked that Greg was alpha but not overly alpha. He is a dom who understands his sub. He is kind and patient. Something Rain needs.
Rain is skittish and a dreamer. He needs a solid dom to keep him on the same planet as the rest of us. He gets that in Greg, he just needs to learn to trust him.
I like how Ms. Kell brings emotion, angst, and unforgettable characters together. Seducing Rain should be read in order. It will help you understand the characters. But Wooing Master Jones is amazing and you will love that one too.
When you like your alphas, dominating, patient, but willing to do what it takes to get the man they love, this is the book for you.

Greg is a club owner and Rain is a Photographer who spent a great weekend together.  Rain has a little abandonment issue and ran away from Greg when he started talking about their future.

Rain has a problem he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and no has evidence of a murder. Rain has to find somewhere safe and the only person he thinks of is Greg.

Will Greg be able to make things right with Rain before someone else gets to him?

This is an m/m Dom Sub romance.

I loved the characters in this book Greg is caring and strong protecting those he cares about. Rain has problems trusting Greg to stay around but after some careful coaxing he starts to believe. The suspense is developed well. The plot is fast paced but well written so it doesn’t feel overly rushed.

It is a great romance and I would definitely recommend it.

The whole murder plot brought this down for me. There wasn't enough story here for the romance, the BDSM scenes, AND a murderer stalking them. If that had been left out, I think the story would have been much better. Which is sort of awkward as the whole "witnessing a murder" thing was what brought the characters back together. But there just wasn't enough time for there to even begin to be development of that plot aspect and that left it feeling rather silly and just tacked on. The premise this of this story really deserves a much longer novel.

But, I will also note that I have been feeling extra grumbly lately, and very hard to please, so...

This is a short story about very strong, stubborn M/M with action, adventure, intrigue, and romance.

Rainier Lemmon a freelance photographer, who accidentally captured a crime on film. Greg Carter is a club owner, who enjoyed Rainier and their great weekend together. When Rainier realize his life is in danger, he hides himself at Greg's home. Greg is so happy Rainier is back, and hoping for a perment relationship.

I enjoyed Amber Kell writing and the characters were real plus her story development was spot on.

love the idea of this story...wish it was longer. i would love to see how they adapt to a more relaxed dom/sub relationship. i think they would be so great together...i think rain would definitely push greg's buttons. and i loved the career rain ended up with! i also would have liked more of the intrigue to last longer. it's so hard to develop a full story in so few pages.

the writing was good and the character and story development was good even though this was a short story. would love to read more by amber!

I enjoyed this short story, about club owner Greg and Rain - whose original weekend together takes place during "Wooing Master Jones".
Two men trying to protect their own hearts and own feelings nearly don't make a go of their relationship because of their own insecurities.
I would have loved to see a little more of their relationship once they settled into a life together, but the glimpse we did get in the epilogue with Rain finding a place for his work too was really sweet.
A lovely treat read after a busy week. Thanks

Nice. On the whole this is a pretty neat series. (By which I mean BDSM Club, of which this is book four, although it doesn't say so here on Goodreads.)

In this case I appreciated that the characters had more substance than your average can of soda and there were some emotions beyond sex. Okay, I may be scarred by my recent readings.
Either way, this was a friendly, comfortable read, if fast as usual for this author, and certainly not shying away from clichés. All round a nice snack.

Seducing Rain, by Amber Kell, while part of the All Romance Alpha series, is also tied to her book Mastering Will. Ms. Kell is a great short story writer, filling her stories with enough facts to give a whole picture. In this work Rain is portrayed as the absent minded artist that really needs a keeper. In this day of BDSM always being portrayed negatively, the portrayal of Greg as the caring Dom was refreshing

Raine wants to submit to Greg but he holds back but when he's in real trouble Greg is the only place he can think to go. When Greg finds out what's really going on Raine has to prove that his willingness to submit is on the level and that running to Greg is a sign of his commitment.

More like 2.5 stars rounded up. It starts out well but with the briefness of the story everything seemed rushed and underdeveloped.

Normally I would say surprisingly engaging characters for such a short story, but Amber Kell excels at writing characters that read like a story about your best friend.
