Twelve years apart. Two broken hearts. One love that refuses to fade.
I spent the majority of my younger years dreaming of marrying Weston Taylor, my childhood sweetheart. Until he shattered my heart the night before I left for college. I left our small town, vowing to never look back. My eyes now set on big city dreams. Life took that as a challenge, apparently. Because twelve years later, I’m back in Windy Peaks, and if I want to climb the corporate ladder, I have to knock this project out of the park. The only problem? I’m working on Weston’s family ranch for the summer and there’s a sparkling engagement ring adorning my left hand. I thought I was strong enough to resist his charm but the more I see him, the more I’m reminded of why I fell in love with him all those years ago. And the more I realize how badly I’ve been settling in my life. Our fire is burning brighter and hotter than ever. Weston’s made it clear he’s determined to correct the mistakes of his past. His biggest regret? Letting me go. That’s one mistake he isn't making twice.
Roped In is a Dual POV, interconnected standalone. Perfect for lovers of Second Chance, Forced Proximity, Found Family and Cowboy Romance.
I wasn’t as obsessed with this story as I was with Spurred On. It was still an adorable read. A second chance romance between childhood sweethearts. Weston and Willow really know how to push each other’s boundaries. I guess that’s a perk when you’ve grown up together your whole life. The first part of the book dragged on a little for me. However, I think it started to get really good at around the 40% for me. Communication was clearly needed between them. I love that Windy Peaks is a small town and that everyone is always invested in everyone. I also love the family dynamic in this. They’re dysfunctional but loving.
Thank you Elle for letting me read your story. I’m honestly really intrigued by Rhett and Aspen.
4.5 This was so good I couldn’t put it down! I read the whole thing is 24 hours.
Weston is such a sweetheart. His devotion to Willow is so cute. I love his protectiveness but also his support when she needs to do things for herself. I also
I thought this was a perfect length for this trope. Sometimes they drag on and on, I thought the pace was perfect. They didn’t rush into anything, which was a nice change of pace for books like this.
I can’t wait for the next one! 😉
I’m grateful for the ARC in exchange for my review 🩷
I received this book as an ARC. I loved it. I can't wait to read what she has in store for the rest of the characters. I read the first in the series before picking this one up and loved it equally.
Roped In is an emotional second-chance romance that leans hard into small-town charm, unresolved first love, and the kind of yearning that never really goes away. The book opens with a gut-punch prologue from Weston’s POV as he breaks up with Willow on the eve of her leaving for college. They’ve been inseparable since childhood, first friends, then sweethearts, and his decision to let her go—without fully explaining why—sets the emotional foundation for everything that follows. The pain feels raw and real, and the time jump that comes next hurts in the best way. Twelve years later, Weston is still in Windy Peaks, Wyoming, running his family ranch and planning to expand it into vacation properties. Willow, now a successful project manager living in NYC, is sent by her consulting firm to oversee the very project Weston is working on. Neither of them expects to see the other again, and the reunion is thick with tension, unfinished business, and feelings that never truly faded. The dual POV works beautifully here. Weston has clearly never moved on—his love for Willow is steady, patient, and deeply rooted. Willow, on the other hand, has built walls around her heart. She’s engaged to Josh, a man who represents safety and predictability, but not passion or genuine care. Watching Willow slowly realize how much she’s been settling, especially when contrasted with the way Weston instinctively looks out for her, is one of the strongest parts of the book. Weston is very much a “prove it with actions” kind of hero. He notices the things Josh doesn’t—how Willow dims herself, how she’s uncomfortable, how she deserves better—and he consistently shows up for her without demanding anything in return. Their forced proximity (working together, living under the same roof after the cabin situation, shared family dinners) gives the story a cozy yet emotionally charged vibe that makes every interaction feel loaded. The romance builds at a satisfying pace. There’s jealousy, longing, and a lot of emotional honesty once the truth about the past finally comes out. Weston’s reason for breaking things off all those years ago—believing he was holding Willow back—adds depth rather than cheap drama, and Willow’s struggle to trust him again feels earned. When they finally give in to what they’ve always felt, the payoff is intense and heartfelt. The side characters add warmth without overpowering the story—Weston’s family, his friends, and especially Willow’s grandpa Vern bring humor, wisdom, and that tight-knit small-town feeling that grounds the romance. The ending, with Willow choosing Windy Peaks and the two of them choosing each other fully and publicly, is tender, romantic, and incredibly satisfying. Overall, Roped In is a cozy, emotional, and swoony second-chance romance filled with longing, devotion, and the kind of love that never really lets go. If you love childhood friends to lovers, protective ranch men, and a heroine rediscovering what she truly deserves, this one delivers.

That dedication calls me out because boy I am indeed within the 3%.
It's a long story but ANYWAYS!
You know I just can never resist small-town romance. I have a really picky taste for second-chance romance but this book gives an entertaining "I'm-gonna-get-you-back" antic. So here you have two high school sweethearts who have to part ways because obviously, the boy thinks it'll be better for her to flourish without being tied to some long-distance boyfriend especially when she's about to go to the big city while he stays back. At this point, we know the drill: he breaks her heart AND his too, years pass by, and then she goes back home for a work project with an unhealed wound.. and a freaking. Engagement. Ring.
And of course, when a man thinks that's something is for the best, it's not always the case because Weston is on a mission, alright. Those feelings he has for Willow never dies and he's gonna redeem himself.
I like how it's written in a dynamic way: some parts are careful/slow but there fast-paced ones too. It's written in a light-hearted way so readers who are anxious about certain conflicts could be at ease and actually enjoy seeing Weston doing right day by day. That one quote that says "how lucky I am to meet the love of my life twice"? Completely changes my view on the second-chance trope. Willow is assertive with a black-cat energy and I like that. I love how she takes time to sort her feelings out before starting over with Weston. Then you have a found-family trope too where everybody practically playing cupid which is heartwarming.
Ok, I gobbled this one up. I love a cowboy romance, and I was really looking forward to this as the second book in these interconnected standalones. I loved all the characters in the first book, so getting Weston’s story was so exciting. And let me tell you, Weston and Willow delivered.
There is yearning. There is growth. There is hurt. There are so many emotions. Weston is just so lovable, and he is completely obsessed with Willow. Let me tell you he will make you swoon.
Willow returns home all grown up and ready to run a full project for her consulting firm. Let’s just say she is not ready for where her journey will take her. I love a second-chance romance, especially when you really feel the heartbreak. And of course, I always swoon for an it’s always been you story, and this book has it all.

✨ Ending Thoughts
A heartfelt second chance cowboy romance full of yearning, growth, and emotional payoff. Weston and Willow were everything I wanted them to be. And I cannot wait for the next book!

This book took me about 30% to really get into it but once it had me hooked I couldn’t let go 🤍🤠 Roped In is everything I want in a cowboy romance and then some. It delivers big on heart, emotion, and swoon—with just the right amount of spice 🌶️🔥
We get cowboys, found family, second chances, and the absolute perfection that is childhood friends to lovers 🫶 Add in forced proximity and you can already tell I was living for every single moment. One of my favorite tropes 💕The emotional journey hit hard—heartbreak 💔, anger 😤, healing 🌱, and so much yearning it hurt in the best way.
Watching Willow and Weston’s relationship slowly evolve felt so genuine and earned. Every glance, every conversation, every shared moment mattered, and I couldn’t help but root for them the entire time 🥹💞 The chemistry was undeniable, and the spice level was just right—steamy without overpowering the emotional depth 🌶️✨
If you love heartfelt romances that tug at your emotions and leave you completely satisfied, this one is an absolute must-read. Trust me—you’ll be roped in too 🪢💚
I received this book as an ARC and gave it my honest opinion 💕
I fell in love with Elle Jordan’s writing when I read her debut, Hawaiian Holiday, and I’ve been hooked ever since. At this point, I’ve read everything she’s written and I regret nothing.
Let’s talk about her upcoming release, Roped In — book two in the Windy Peaks series (and yes, they can be read as standalones). This one? Incredible. Second-chance romance done right. The tension between Willow and Weston was absolutely oozing off the page.
And Weston…whew. A total gentleman in the real world, with a wildly untamed side behind closed doors. This man came prepared, the backwards ball cap...🥵
Willow was such a standout FMC, fiercely independent, confident, and unapologetic about standing up for herself. And her relationship with her grandpa? It hit so close to home for me and added so much heart to the story.
I was tearing up more than once in the final 5% - emotional, beautiful, and the kind of ending that just sticks with you. This one has my whole heart.
Tropes: second chance forced proximity small town workplace romance childhood friends to lovers it’s always been you cowboy romance
Childhood best friends, two broken hearts and twelve years to stew on what could have been and what went wrong.
This dual POV, second chance cowboy romance, with forced proximity, small town vibes, and found family, will steal your heart in all the best ways.
I loved reading Weston and Willow's story. The heartbreak could be felt across the pages, as well as the love that still remained between them after twelve years apart.
I felt and understood her determination to climb the corporate ladder while protecting her heart. I loved his determination to win her heart slowly by showing up for her in all the ways she needed him. Weston stole my heart multiple times, but his tat was my breaking point.
A childhood love matured through the ages only burns stronger the second time around.
Now, I find myself anxiously waiting for book 3 to be released.
Thank you to Elle Jordan for the ARC of Roped In. This review is of my own opinion.
Thank you Elle Jordan for allowing me to ARC read Roped In! I love a small town cowboy romance and this one had me all in the feels!
Roped In follows Weston and Willow, two childhood sweethearts who lost their way at 18. When Willow is assigned a job back in her hometown and comes face to face with West after 12 years apart, they both start to realize how the time they spent apart hasn’t changed how they feel about one another.
This story had all the feels and tension! I am convinced any cowboy named West is quite possibly the best man on earth. I loved how he literally dropped everything he was doing whenever she called and seemed to always know what she needed. They are truly two halves of the same whole.
I only wished this story was longer! And that the plot was expanded upon even more. I couldn’t get enough of the Windy Peaks family!
The tension between Willow and Weston was jumping off the page. Weston is the epitome of a gentleman. He’s the guy you want your best friend or sister to end up with. And Willow… oh my heart. My poor Willow built those walls up high and Weston came in like a wrecking ball and tore them all down. I loved watching them dance around each other until they finally gave in. And I really thought that I made it through the book without crying until Elle served my heart up on a platter towards the end. I’m so excited to get Aspen’s book next because she’s been such a big part of both stories in Windy Peaks so far.
second chance • forced proximity • small town • workplace romance • childhood friends to lovers • it’s always been you • cowboy romance
Roped In is the second book in the Windy Peaks series, and returning to the Taylor Ranch in Wyoming felt like coming home—mirroring the heart of Westin and Willow’s story. Told in dual POV, this tender second-chance romance is rich with found family warmth and emotional depth. Westin’s love for Willow is steady, patient, and deeply heartfelt, and his determination to make things right never wavers. Their journey is a beautiful reminder that some loves don’t fade with time—they wait, grow, and come back stronger than ever.
As always a special thanks to author Elle Jordan for granting me the opportunity to read and review Roped In. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I am very appreciative of Elle Jordan and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of Roped In!
This was such a cute, heartwarming second-chance read! I really enjoyed learning more about Weston and Willow’s relationship throughout the book, and seeing them learn to trust each other again.
I loved the dual POV and getting to read Weston’s thoughts. The way that Weston is so steady and shows his care for Willow was so sweet. I love that one of Weston’s biggest traits was an actions-speak-louder-than-words attitude. Willow’s morning coffee and notes—ahh so cute!
Wow i loved it!’ So so good!! so many good parts in this book loved it loved it loved it. My favorite part that was when the grandpa gave Weston the rings. I can totally relate to that because my husband and I used a ring from my grandma and my parents gave me my husband‘s ring. That was my great great grandma‘s who is a rancher with huge hands to the perfectly gold band and now its lost in the ocean in Mexico lol i was so sad. Love there relationship!! My favorite book of the year so far!! Cant wait to see what comes next.
What you will find inside this book: Cowboy Romance Second Chance Forced Proximity Workplace Romance He C*ms in His Pants Mutual Pining
Roped In by Elle Jordan had me hooked from the very beginning. Willow and Weston’s second chance at love was honestly the cutest story!!
I loved how the small town cowboy vibes wrapped around their reconnection. twelve years apart, but the sparks never really faded. The forced proximity from the project, the flirty tension, I couldn’t put the book down. It’s got warmth, real chemistry, and just the right amount of swoon and spice.
This was the first book I’ve read by Elle Jordan and I will definitely be reading more! If you enjoy second chance romances with cowboys add this to your TBR!
There’s something really special about second-chance romance. Like the famous saying goes, love is sweeter the second time around — and this book truly proves it. The yearning, the love, and the quiet hope of finding their way back to each other made the story even more beautiful.
I enjoyed reading this book and witnessing how the long-overdue romance between the MMC and FMC finally took off. Through honest and proper communication, their hidden longing and the regrets they had carried for so long were finally revealed, making their reunion even more meaningful and heartfelt.
I’ve been with Elle for a while and all I can say is she has yet to disappoint!
When you get a book that you can literally read in a day, you know it’s THAT GOOD!
Weston and Willow’s story is a cowboy romance, with second chance love, forced proximity and yearning that has you hooked from the beginning. This book gets 🥵 and 🌶️ I was totally all for it!
Thank you Elle for the chance to ARC read both books and I have a feeling I know who book 3 will be about and IM HERE FOR IT 😜
It was a good read, however it did seem kind of surface level for most of the book like when Willow didn’t see any of Weston’s family at the ranch for the first half of the book? There were a few loose ends, like did Willow go back to New York to get her things? Small things like that I guess. I did really love Weston and Willow and glad they had their HEA. Weston was such a cinnamon roll 🥹 loved Vern also.
Roped in is the second book in the "Windy Peaks" series. This cowboy romance hooked me from the start and didn't let go. It checked all my boxes: cowboys, found family, second chance romance, childhood friends to lovers, and forced proximity. It had me going through all the emotions. The emotional journey was intense, with heartbreak, anger, healing, and so much yearning. The spice was just right, and I loved watching their relationship evolve. It's a must-read, trust me.
✨ARC REVIEW✨ I LOVED WESTON! Their love story was so cute. It was definitely a slow burn, but I’m glad there was no third act breakup. Their banter was fun and not over the top. Weston’s filthy mouth was 🥵 I loved that willow’s grandpa raised her and was such an important piece of their story. Him giving them the rings at the end was so sweet. I thought he was going to die for a second but I’m really glad he didn’t.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a nice slow burn romance between childhood sweethearts. I loved seeing Willow and Weston come back together. Seeing them navigate being around each other after so long not being together was a sweet struggle. Even when they weren’t together you know they were endgame. The ending was sweet and amazing. I will totally read this book again. I think it would be nice as an audiobook too. Totally bring it to the next level.
Book was amazing. From the second I saw the cover reveal I knew it would be amazing. The love they had for each other even when she felt like she hated Weston was amazing. The second chance small town trope is definitely my favorite tropes. The meddling family was everything. The epilogue was perfect. I cant wait for everyone to get their hands on this.
This book met all my expectations and then some! Weston is officially my new book boyfriend, absolute perfection. I adored Weston and Willow’s story, from the swoony moments to the hilarious family meddling (and Grandpa stole my heart). I loved every single part of this one!
I’m hoping to read Avery’s story next, been dying for that one!
Roped In did not disappoint! If you loved Spurred On, this one will absolutely hit. Willow and Weston have so much chemistry, and the tension while they're trying to fight their feelings is chef's kiss. Weston is swoon-worthy from page one, and it's impossible not to fall for him. Watching them find their way back to loving each other again had me completely hooked.
Some second chances are worth risking your heart for. Weston and Willow’s story is so beautiful. Weston is a man women dream about, his devotion is unmatched. Vern is honestly the cutest grandpa around! Found family, second chance, some great spice, grumpy/sunshine that fit together to create this wonderful story. Highly recommend!
Second chance romance is normal not my go to trope. The break up is usually really bad and sometimes feels like the 2nd chance is not deserved. Roped in is NOT the case at all! Weston, this man grabbed my heart from the very beginning and didn't let go. I loved Willow, she was strong, even when she felt like she was broken inside. The slow burn, chemistry and spice was perfection. Excited for the next book in this interconnected standalone series.
