Ο Ντοστογέφσκι είναι από τους πιο γνωστούς και αγαπητούς συγγραφείς σε παγκόσμια κλίμακα. Στο "Όνειρο του θείου μου" σαρκάζει τις αδυναμίες των ηλικιωμένων και συμμερίζεται τα όνειρα και τις λαχτάρες των νέων με χιούμορ και συμπάθεια. Απολαύστε "Το όνειρο του θείου μου"!
Ο "Μικρός ήρωας" έχει κι αυτός το μερίδιο του από την πλημμυρίδα των έργων του μεγάλου ρώσου συγγραφέα, με την τόλμη και την αγνότητα που διακρίνει τον έφηβο.

This edition consists of a novella, Uncle's dream, and a short story, A little hero.

Uncle's Dream

But all things die, Zina, even our memories, and our good and noble feelings die also, and in their place comes reason.

This is a story about dreams and longings of young people, about family honor, about deceit. It had a bunch of references to Shakespeare, rightfully so, because this novella reminded me of Shakespeare's theatrical comedies. I absolutely loved this story and would definitely read it again, it had an interesting plotline and its characters were overly exciting and well-developed.

A Little Hero

I wasn't particurarly mesmerized by this short story. It had a pretty conventional plot, while the characters never really stood out. It involves a 11 year old boy and his adoration for Mme. M., which leads him to ultimately become her saviour. And I'm probably presenting it way too dramatically.

Δεν τις φοβίζει ούτε το βάθος της πληγής ούτε το πρήξιμο της ούτε η δυσωδία της. Όποιος τις πλησιάζει είναι και αντάξιός τους. Αυτές εξάλλου, φαίνεται σαν να γεννήθηκαν ηρωίδες.[...]

My father bought me this book and when he brought me it, I immediately started reading it. From what I have heard about dostoevsky's writing his works are usually really deep (this is my first ever dostoevsky read). Well this one to my surprise is more of a fun read which also contains a sense of deepness behind its satire. If you have read a lot of dostoevsky's work, this one will definitely let you explore a different side of his writing and discover that you can also let out a giggle while reading dostoevsky :)
