Rate this book

Be prepared for 40 fine-feathered friends to fly off your hook and put their feet up on your coffee table. Kerry Lord's debut title, Edward's Menagerie, was a runaway success and now she is back with BIRDS!

You will be as happy as a lark as you crochet your way through this colorful collection of birds, including a bashful Flamingo, romance-writing Owl and a politically incorrect Pheasant. Read all about these kooky characters, their adorations and aversions, daydreams and delusions, then crochet them for all your friends and family.

Each bird can be crocheted in 4-different sizes making over 160 different pattern possibilities - so pick your first project and get started! The patterns use basic stitches, are grouped together by difficulty and include step-by-step technical guides for beginners, so there is no excuse to chicken out.

These lovable birds are quick to make using supersoft yarn in a sophisticated color palette, and will become your best friends as their larger-than-life personalities get their claws into you!

Much more than just a pattern book. The little peak inside each bird's personality helps bring these charmers to life. Well written, beautifully photographed, humorous book.

If you have the Bird and animals book, you can make the monsters but I love the monster book too! I need to see the conbosb for the ideas but the paters are the same.

Getting this follow up book to the original Meagerie is a no brainer! Though I did struggle to think of 40 birds, the variety and design of the book has covered every bird a child might enjoy playing with and then some. It is a more colourful scheme than the original menagerie which specialised in a more muted, natural tone, but nonetheless very charmign! Again the crochet instructions are clear and precise, aimed at an enthusiastic beginner to intermediate crocheter.
