Tea for Two #3

Seducing Her Brother's Best Friend

Rate this book
After too many years being overlooked by men, Carol is ready to take action. She wants a man, and she knows which man she wants. Her brother’s best friend, Patrick Stevenson.

Patrick is funny and brainy and the sexiest man she’s ever known, but he has never looked at her as anything except his friend’s little sister. That’s going to change.

Carol isn’t good at flirting. Or seduction. Or anything that requires putting herself out there. But she’s going to make sure Patrick sees her as a desirable woman—and one he wants for more than one night—even if it turns her whole world upside down. He already likes her a lot. He just needs to open his eyes to how good they’d be together.

After all, how stubborn can he be?

This did not have the angst that most brother’s-best-friend tropes usually give you. There is none of the “we have to keep this a secret” or “I’m breaking the bro code” issues. I found the lack of those to be refreshing.

Is Your Love of Baking and Cooking Increasing with Your Age? | Sixty and Me

Carol has had a crush on Patrick since she was young. Years ago she attempted to get his attention but failed. She’s going to try one more time, this time as a woman with seduction that leads to more, on her mind. As the story progresses and her relationship with Patrick has traveled a wild a rocky path, I loved that she got to the place of speaking her mind, freely, to him.

Likewise, Patrick has had his eye on Carol. As someone who prefers to deal with work and lose himself on his computer, he doesn’t do well when it comes time to actually have a conversation with Carol about what he wants or his feelings. He’s an adorable geek with the tendency to not speak due to shyness and a tendency to grumble, grunt at moments. I absolutely loved him and having his point of view...holy heck! My heart was his almost immediately, and I felt swoony just from his thoughts alone.

This is a fast read with some of the most amazing characters. I loved this couple so much! The fact that what’s happening between them is in the midst of wedding preparations added moments of laughter as well as times when my heart was completely taken over with emotion. With a heat level that’s pretty hot and an epilogue that ended this in the best way possible, I highly recommend this one.

This is the third book in Tea for Two series by Noelle Adams which is about three friends falling for their BFFs brothers.
This time around it's sweet Carol's turn and she's fallen hard for Patrick since she was a little girl but the nerdy Patrick is particularly oblivious and hides his own attraction to his little sister's best friend. So Carol decides that the best way to get a guy is to seduce him! Now it's just a matter of trying to figure out how to do it...
This was a sweet easy read with wonderful characters, great progression of a romance and of course the very sexy way it happens. Ms. Adams always brings something unique to an otherwise common storyline and she always delivers a contemporary romance that is both familiar and different at the same time. Clearly Seducing Her Brother's Best Friend is no exception to that.

Carol and Patrick finally get their tale in Seducing My Brother’s Best Friend. There has been tension between the two since the start of the series and it’s combustible in this installment of Tea for Two.

I was surprised when I finally got into Patrick’s head. He was different from what I was expecting, and I loved how refreshing his character is. Carol was so fun.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be witty, funny and easy to get lost in. A few times, I wanted to shake Carol and Patrick, then lock them in a room together. They both had communication issues. The writing was great, and it was evenly paced. The characters are developed, and we get to see where previous characters are now. While this is book 3 in a series, it reads perfectly as a standalone, although previous books are spoiled.

Have you ever met someone so stubborn and so semi-oblivious you just want to hit 'em with a bat? Like, repeatedly?

That was me with Patrick.

He's a great guy, don't get me wrong. Smart and funny and loyal. But he has no clue how to read someone. None. Oh, and he overthinks a lot. About everything. Which is really, really, really frustrating. Because there were so many times in this story that he didn't need to. He just needed to feel, to let his heart guide him, to trust that what he felt with Carol was right and meant to be.

His reluctance to do any of that almost cost him her. What a mess that would've been!

Carol is determined. Who doesn't love a single-minded woman? I gave her credit for sticking it out as long as possible, for hoping so hard for a future with Patrick, but... Damn. She was wrecked. Every let down, every thoughtless word and action, every killed moment she experienced completely wrecked her. I'm not talking a constant watering pot, though she was that. I'm talking you could see her hope for a future with Patrick just disappear little by little throughout the story.

It was so hard to read.

It was so hard to not cry with her.

It was so hard to hold onto hope when hers was crumbling to the ground.

I know I've read Ms. Adams stories before, but I can't remember any of them leaving me a mess like this one. I was hopeful, happy, elated, lost, crushed, broken, angry, bitter... God, I was everything Carol was. And that, all of that, made this an amazing story.

This story is straight-forward. You know who's going after who. It isn't a mystery. It's getting to that happy ending that kept me turning the pages because I wanted to know! I wanted to see Carol happy. I wanted Patrick to wake up. I wanted it all. I just had to go through a myriad of emotions and situations to get it.

Well written, Ms. Adams. You kept me on the edge of my seat and somewhere between wanting it all and calling it quits with this story. I'd read it again just to experience it all over again.

Noelle Adams is romance gold. She proves that love is not always in your face sex appeal. Seduction does not have to be raunchy, it can be a subtle merging of the minds and hearts. Carol and Patrick are one of the best examples of romance. Love was a gradual progression, that neither saw coming, until it was too late to overlook. There is no perfect time to fall in love and no perfect person to fall in love with. Love is accepting a person for who they are not who we want them to be. Seducing Her Brother's Best Friend is a flawless look at what love is. Sweet, sinful and flawed, but no less life-changing.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the concluding part to this trilogy and can be read as a stand alone book, however i suggest reading them all in order so you get a better measure of the other characters.

In this book, Carol has finally decided that she is going to try and get what she has always wanted, one of her best friends brother, the slightly geeky, awkward Patrick.

Carols friends help her seduce an unknowing Patrick and a light comedy evolves in the push me pull you department, until Patrick finally admits its Carol that he wants and realises that she wants him too.

A really good ending to this light-hearted and fun series.

It was a cute end to the series. I liked how even though Carol was nervous and not fully confident in herself but still managed to stand up for herself and say what she wanted. She wasn’t just a pushover who just accepted defeat like in other books. She communicated more of what she wanted (although of course more could be said). Sometimes the dialogue during the more steamy scenes was a little cringy. I don’t understand why the girls in Adams books always has to say “please”. Don’t beg, just say what you want.

The whole book is stretched out on the basis of misunderstandings and miscommunication. Thought I’d let you folks know.

Patrick is so obtuse. He got frustrating to read about after awhile. This wasn't my favorite series Adams has written.

What's the point of being in love with someone and not being able to ask what they mean and instead just assuming everything? Lack of communication: that's the entire plot of this book.

The tea for two series, is a beautiful twist on the best friends brother/sister set up. The love interests are all part of the same group 3 best friends and their three younger sisters who are also best friends.

I also thought Carol and Patrick matched well, they understood each other, Balanced each other out. Both workaholics who loved deeply. Both owned their own businesses, cared for their friends and family and had similar hobbies, view points and stubborn shy streaks.

This story made me cry with frustration that they both are so wonderful but thought so little of themselves, and lacked confidence. Except once they FINALLY told each other how they felt.

It was a nice look to see these couples begin their lives together. Though I would have loved to see more updates and more insight to each of the couplings.

Patrick irritates me as a character- brilliant, mostly kind but broods and when things get real and he’s afraid he becomes withdrawn, grumpy, angry and even an ass. But Carol knows him, and understands him. Hopefully now that he’s shared his feelings, and proposed he won’t be afraid and therefore not grumpy.

I’d like to see these couples have kids.... I love Noelle’s writing. This was a quick cute, emotional read for me. Finished in a lazy Sunday afternoon- the best kind for one of my favourite authors books.

This was bad.

There is no background as to why Patrick is so insecure that he can’t believe Carol would want him. None. He had no personality, snapped at her regularly, and was a shitty communicator.

Carol was annoying. She was spineless and basically kept throwing herself at him or instantly forgiving him. She came across as desperate and insecure.

And the amount of times she talks negatively about her body was irritating. It starts by saying she has an extra 15 pounds…seriously, that’s not much. So why is it that every time she compliments another woman she says “I could never pull that off”? Or when she insists on a lace cover up for her arms (instead if sleeveless) because she just can’t show them because they’re too big. Or when she says she doesn’t like skirts above the knee because of her legs. ITS 15 POUNDS!! I just don’t understand this. She needs a fucking psychiatrist because being 15 pounds overweight shouldn’t lead to this…this is body dysmorphia. And it happens over and over again.

Ughh hated this.

Carol and Patrick were quite the comical couple. Two people that had an obvious attraction since they were much younger, afraid to make any type of move on one another as grown adults. That is, until Carol had finally had enough and decided she was going to try to seduce Patrick into noticing her and wanting her. Carol's attempts at luring him in, only caused much frustration for Patrick. Finally though, they gave in to those desires and found that they were great together. Well, until Patrick froze up again and felt that he just couldn't give Carol what she deserved. In this story, Carol and Patrick didn't seem hung up on the issues that the other couples had wherein they were afraid the other siblings would be upset that they were together. In this story, everyone was fighting for Carol and Patrick. Thankfully, Patrick finally opened his eyes and opened his heart to Carol. The ending was awesome! Well done! I received this ARC for an honest review.

An adorable conclusion to a fun series! Carol and Patrick are interesting and likable characters. I wasn't quite sure what to think of Patrick at first, but as we got to know him he was just so endearing. Carol knows what she wants -- Patrick -- and isn't afraid to go after it. I liked her confidence and assertiveness. She and Patrick really complement each other well.

This book also provided some great check-ins with the previous couples. I really adored catching up with them and seeing their HEAs up close and personal. There is also a great introduction to the new loft series that I can't wait to read more about! The epilogue was also adorable perfection.

An enjoyable story on its own, and a great conclusion to the series as a whole! 5 stars!

Patrick and Carol are my favorite couple ever! He is a super nerd, shy, closed and smart... She is the girl next door type of girl, a pastry chef and business owner with some self esteem issues, but a lovely girl in love with this stubborn guy.

They have been friends forever, but now that their siblings and friends have coupled they feel pressured to do the same, only stubborn Patrick does not like to feel pressured at all...

This book is a treat and a great reading. Sure all books in this series are good, but this is close to my heart. Maybe because I am a super nerd as Patrick and like to cook as Carol!

Noelle Adams knows how to create engaging characters that are soooo good to read and you will love them!

This book made me think multiple times, are they really that clueless?? But there are times when people outside the situation see things clearly than those directly involved. Which was the case here.

Carol has had a crush on her older brother's best friend for YEARS. And she's tired of him seeing her as his BFF's kid sister. And his sister's BFF. Very interconnected these friendships are. So anyway, she sets out to make Patrick see HER as a woman or die trying. Well after Patrick shoves his foot in his mouth one too many times, Carol is done.

Patrick has always had a crush on Carol but she's way too good for him. Plus he's not crossing the brotherhood. But he just can't stop himself when she's making herself so available to him...

I definitely need to go back and read the other books so I can truly get a sense of these friendships.

Patrick the grumpy tech guy was so clueless to Carol’s seduction. He thought he didn’t deserve her. They slept together and he acted like an asshole afterward. Carol braved herself and join dating sites. He met a gut Tom and Patrick was jealous. After Emma advised him, Carol and Patrick slept together again. She thought he wanted casual with him. During Emma’s wedding, he told Carol he loves her. They dated afterwards. He insisted Carol join the bouquet catching as he already tied the ring to the flowers and proposed to her.

Okay, here's the thing. I can overlook so many things, including the fact that both MMC and FMC couldn't just communicate, or that he didn't think she was flirting with him, or the really weird incestous group dynamics they have. What I can't get over is the fact that the MMC and the FMC ruined two weddings, their best friends and families, with their drama. AND THE LAST ONE INCLUDED THEIR PROPOSAL. like what the actual fuck. Who thinks that's okay? Ugh. I love the trope, but cannot with the second hand cringe.

I love Noelle's sweet little Tea of Two series - these quick reads are perfect! The characters she writes are so "normal", down-to-earth, someone you could be friends and enjoying hanging around with. I like how quirky Patrick was in the previous stories, so I loved that this one is his and there was no better match for him than Carol. The siblings are what makes this series fun (& maybe a 'lil crazy) and makes you want to keep reading more.

Awesome!!

Whew! That was hard work! Patrick was the typical nerd oblivious to how Carol felt about him. Patrick kept his feelings hidden so well that Carol had no idea that he like her. This is such a cute book! It the previous book Patrick complained about all the drama and then he had to eat those words in his own love story with Carol.
Great story, steamy scenes, cute situations of mix up feelings I loved this book!

I gobbled this up in about 2 hours (fast for me!)

Not as many sexy times as some of Noelle's other books that I have read, but it had plenty of feels that made my chest hurt with feeling for the couple. The hero's inability to just come out and....SPEAK about his feelings was a little frustrating at times, but overall it was realistic. He was very insecure that someone wouldn't love him for himself and was afraid of rejection.

Beautiful endings

I loved this series from start to end. Carol and Patrick are definitely meant for one another but have a lot of obstacles in the way. The hardest being the lack of self-esteem they both have. The ending was so perfect I felt myself tear up. Perfect feel good romantic series.

While I enjoyed the other 2 books in this series, the third book just felt contrived. While I knew that the series is about 3 best friends ending up with each other's brothers who also happen to be best friends, I felt like Patrick in the story who was worried they were just ending up together because they were the last two left.

Loved Carol and Patrick's story! Patrick was fighting his attraction to Carol, because both of his best friend's got together with their best friends younger sisters. Carol has had feelings for Patrick since she was a teen. Patrick needed to see that Carol valued him as a person. Loved this series!

Ok

It felt much shorter, less involved than the others.
Carol has loved Patrick for a long time, but he is clueless. So clueless, he mucks it up more than once and nearly loses any opportunity.
The end was cute but left me wanting just a little bit more.

Meh. It was okay. Not as good as I hoped it would be, because I usually enjoy this author. The hero was too wimpy. It’s fine to be nerdy and to not be confident about your attractiveness to women, but it’s not okay to be an emotional coward when a woman you care about puts herself on the line.
