Peace is just a dance of seduction. I lured my prey in and gladly tossed the peace treaties onto my enemy’s pyres.
In Panthas, we worship the glory of war. From my cage, I plotted to dethrone the vampire king—my enemy and my husband. I vowed to melt the crown he never earned.
A crown my brother died for!
When the vampire who assassinated my brother entered the ballroom, I aimed to slay him first.
Our eyes locked, and he revealed a terrible why did my brother—the fae prince—give his magic to his killer?
Forced to aid my brother’s killer, we raced to find the book the gods left behind. It held a magic that could end the wars, or, in the wrong hands, bring extinction.
These are the dues I paid so that the vampire fate bound to me could save Panthas—and hopefully, one day, love would be worshiped over war.
Some love stories are meant to be retold. Others should never be written. I’ll let you decide which is ours.

Enter the world of Panthas, where the Fae and Vampires rule over all others. For fans of Booktok's most popular romantasy books!Perfect for fans

Selene doesn’t collect flowers—she crushes them in a perfume of lethal seduction. “I was never meant to be a maiden who sang songs. I’m a tempest who destroys hearts.”
Love a morally grey villain? Meet one who will make you question just how dark his shades can get. “You are right, Selene, you are poisonous.” He sits on the edge of the bed. I try to edge away, but his vines dig into me. “Poisons can be mastered. I just need a small daily dose." He reaches out and slides a finger down my cheek. “A little taste.” His touch glides down my neck, then lower, between my breasts. “Every day. Eventually, I will become accustomed to it.”
Forget the usual enemies-to-lovers plot. This is a love that reshapes everything. "Love is a beautiful thing. We sing praises about it; we go on adventures to hunt it down. I dig further. “Add in a bottle of wine so my vision blurs. This way, I need not clearly see how insecure you are.
I went into this as a beta read with no idea what to expect, and somehow I came out completely changed. I didn’t expect to fall so deeply in love, with the story, with the characters, and with the powerful bonds between mates and a family forged in the fires of war.
This book made me feel everything. My heart hoped, broke, and slowly learned to hope again. I was utterly immersed from beginning to end, swept into a world that felt both devastating and beautiful.
A.G. Harris has created something truly special here. A world where fae, vampires, mages, humans, and gods collide in a story that feels epic yet intimate, fierce yet tender. It is an absolute masterpiece that will stay with me for a very long time.
This was a beautiful romantasy with very poetic writing. So much plot and emotion packed into these pages. It was much more than I was expecting and I never would have guessed that ending! I’ll definitely be reading the next book.
A.G., you did it again! I want to shout from the rooftops on how incredible this book is! The emotions are raw and real. The magic is ethereal and so divine. The characters are all complex and unique. The conflict the story centers around is so well descripted from the beginning and remains forefront in your mind throughout the story. I have said it time and time again with A.G.'s writing, the way she writes, the words she uses, the descriptors, the analogies, keeps the reader so engaged because she makes it so easy to visualize even the most basic feelings and scenes. Thank you for trusting me to Beta read again for you. I am a forever fan! And whoever is reading this review, the answer is yes! Read it, you will not be disappointed!
Kingdom of Silent Sorrows by A.G. Harris is an epic high fantasy book and was a beautifully written epic story. When I started the book I was initially surprised by the lengthy prologue, but, it ended-up being a wonderful way to set-up the story and establish the world. I fell in love with characters in the prologue that will not be seen after it.
The FMC Queen Selene is a fantastic main character. She's strong, a fighter, has a witty tongue that creates fantastic banter with her husband King Galen. Someone she doesn't like, but was forced to wed. Their interactions were always wonderful to read.
I loved Titus because he was different from your usual MMC vampire. He has a heart and while he is very skilled at fighting, he is introduced as caring. Someone who would rather protect life than take it. It is nice to read a vampire character like that. I also absolutely love the inner monologue of both characters, but, Titus' in particular had me laughing.
The world building is high fantasy and is for readers who like intense world building. If that is not your thing, you may find some of that part of the book tedious. There is romance, but, I am hesitant to call this "romantasy." It felt more like a fantasy book with romance in it.
I highly suggest this book for readers who loved the Lady of Darkness series, Kiss from the Gods , Kindred's Curse Saga, and Gods & Monsters Series.
Kingdom of Silent Sorrows by A.G. Harris was unexpected in a very emotional way. The emotional damage was real, and after a bit of recovery time, I’m ready to see what book 2 holds.
First off, the cover is absolutely stunning, but it doesn’t end there. Harris includes character art throughout the book, and I love that so much! Not only was it a cool touch, she also put them at the perfect moments.
Overall, the story was incredibly interesting and unique in a lot of ways. The characters we see the least of actually have the highest impact on the story. The characters are interesting but likable. You get attached to them without even realizing it. The world is rich, diverse, and interesting.
That ending, though, was emotionally devastating and very unexpected! I kept thinking no way it was happening, that they would come up with a solution. I can’t wait to see how this story continues in book 2.
TL;DR: Perfect for fans of high fantasy with romance and political intrigue! Feels like a good book for fans of the Game of Thrones show. Definitely recommend Kingdom of Silent Sorrows!
I go into every ARC I read wanting to love it, wanting to add it to my collection of favourites. Unfortunately, I don’t think Kingdoms Of Silent Sorrows was for me.
I loved the world building! The prologue beautifully sets the scene for everything to come. The world is well thought out with different kingdoms and species all with their own cultures and magic systems.
I did enjoy the storyline, it was really intriguing and felt like a new idea. The characters were well written and fit nicely into the story.
What I struggled with was the pacing and the writing style. It felt too long to me, with long sections of emotional conversations and internal monologues that were full of similes and metaphors. These conversations were beautiful but there was so much of it that it lost its impact for me.
Overall, there’s a lot of good here and I know there are readers out there who will love this book, it just wasn’t for me.
A sealed book of ruins causes a quest to begin so its magic can end a war in this new fantasy novel!
After losing a war, Selene marries Galen but it's a marriage of convenience so she can get close to her true target, Titus, the person who killed her brother. When she finds out her brother gave Titus his powers before he died, she must work with him to find the lost book of runes and use its magic to end the wars.
I really cant say much more without giving everything away! This was a fantasy romance full of hidden agendas, spies, secrets and lies. The end had me in knots and I was truly shocked but satisfied at the same time. This was not just an entire world that the author built but a whole new realm! The prologue was so in depth and really added to the mystic of the world they lived in. You got the history lesson from centuries ago from a first person POV. It was a very unique way to present it and was so cool to live through it with the characters. It was a journey in itself!
I also loved the portraits woven throughout the book that give you beautiful images of the characters.
Huge thanks to AG Harris for sharing this book’s digital advanced review copy with me in exchange for an honest review.
I got to ARC read this book and I’m so happy to have been part of the lucky few! A. G. Harris did a wonderful job with her first fantasy series. The beginning took me a little but once I got into Selene and Titus’s story more I kept wanting to pick it back up when I had to adult (rude). I thought it was really well done!
This was one of the most heart wrenching, beautiful written, flawed/ interesting characters, complex storyline and deep stories I have read in a long time.
I loved this story so much! I literally took a day off work to finish it once I started, I could not let it rest!!
The prologue alone was so intriguing and mystical. I really hope we return to those characters soon as I need closure from those storylines. Post what is possibly the best prologue ever written you get into the heart of Kingdom of Silent Sorrows.
This is a raw and real story with high stakes, beautiful romance, yearning, spice, plots, twists and so much more.
A.G.Harris introduces us into a universe with complex magic systems, religion and political landscapes. They also allow us to see such a breadth of time that we learn multiple versions of the above.
Our MMC Titus has a noble heart that he wears on his sleeve and more honour than all the knights in the era of chivalry. His brother Tristen is hilarious and wields shadows and will become a fast favourite!
Our FMC Selene is a mental mind games tested warrior, she is sceptical and analytical and has some of the best banter and comebacks I have ever read in a female character. Her nobility shines through differently to our MMC’s but is no less key.
This book is filled with excellent villains (you can decide who you think the villains are) and many plot twists.
My two minor issues was the prologue and the FMC’s brother. I was so attached to what the prologue was setting out it did distract me while reading the main story as I kept waiting for it to return. With Everett I was bored by the end of the book how much plot relied on his manoeuvrings however I think that is over now!
This book will open your heart and tear it to shreds. I cried so much in the final 20% of this book I was right to be scared.
I cannot wait for book 2. I know it’s only January but this is an easy top read for 2026.
“We never talk about the after, because if we did, no one would seek out love to begin with.”
I devoured this book the way Panthas devours its dead: hungrily, reverently, and with no intention of stopping until there was nothing left but ash.
Kingdoms of Silent Sorrows may be the author's first foray into the genre, yet it is romantasy at its most intoxicating. Lush with betrayal and aching with grief, it's threaded through with a love that feels less like salvation and more like a beautiful, necessary wound.
Selene is not a heroine who waits to be rescued; she is a queen forged in rage and loss, and every page bends around her gravity. Her voice is sharp, seductive, and unflinching—and Harris never dulls it for comfort’s sake.
The enemies-to-lovers arc doesn’t tiptoe. It burns. It coils. It asks impossible questions about loyalty, fate, and whether love can ever be clean when it’s born in blood.
Titus is deliciously morally grey—dangerous not because he lacks feeling, but because he feels too much, and knows exactly how to weaponise it. Their chemistry is slow, cruel, and exquisitely earned, crackling beneath every stolen glance and barbed exchange.
What truly elevates this story is its emotional intelligence. Beneath the crowns, curses, and gods’ magic lies a meditation on what love costs after the songs end—on the silence it leaves behind, and the courage it takes to choose it anyway. This isn’t a romance that promises peace. It promises truth.
And gods, it delivers.
Verdict: Masterfully woven, this is a feral, lyrical triumph of romantasy—rich in atmosphere, ruthless in emotion, and fearless in its portrayal of love as both poison and cure. For readers who crave fated mates with teeth, queens who burn the rulebook, and a romance that reshapes the world rather than softens it. I’m still reeling.
I’ve rated this book based on the CAWPILE method. This book averaged 5 stars.
CHARACTERS- 9/10
The characters were mostly written very well. Their motivations were clear and each character behaved as suspected, but to me Titus was a little flat. His thoughts and emotions at one point seemed very juvenile, but I understand that when a story has to get somewhere, it’s got to get somewhere.
ATMOSPHERE/SETTING- 10/10
Love this. Loved the black roses everywhere, the description of the fashion, the climate… but I’m not suprised, this author is very good at what she does.
WRITING STYLE- 9.5/10
Love her writing style. It can be wordy at times so if you aren’t a fan of that, maybe skip this one. I however love it.
PLOT- 7.75/10
Love the plot. My only complaint is that the lore dump was pretty extensive. I’d have liked the first book to be about the old gods or better yet, make a prequel about the old gods after the book about Selene. I think that’s a would’ve added such a great layer of mystery and intrigue, but also give us an extensive knowledge of the story behind it all. As it stands now, the plot feels vaulted forward.
INTRIGUE- 10/10
I found myself wanting more and more of the story. Doesn’t happen everytime for me.
LOGIC/RELATIONSHIPS- 9/10
I want an instalove that feels natural, and for the most pert this delivers. At one point it starts to feel disingenuous but that does t last forever.
ENJOYMENT- 8/10
Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend, especially if you’re a fan of fantasy/paranormal books. This one has a rather unique premise and the authors writing is beautiful.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you BookSirens for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A breathtaking 5/5 stars, Kingdom of Silent Sorrows is devastatingly beautiful and mesmerisingly written.
Without knowing, you find yourself invested in each character, no matter how minor or major a part they play in the plot. With each interaction, you are left trying to unravel the knot the author has so beautifully woven into the plot. Just enough clues are left to leave you eager for the next chapter, but not too many that you can guess the conclusion.
While reading you will find yourself entranced with the writing, how impactful and deep lines such as these are:
“That’s the cost of fate. Some are born poppers, and others are royalty. But we all die the same; the breath leaves our lungs, our skin rots, and our bones decay all the same.”
“You’ve forgotten how to dream of the future could be... You’re stuck in the nightmare of the present.”
For me, a good book evokes emotions from me, that's how I know the characters are written in such a realistic way that they feel like a friend, not paper. These are friends I will revisit, I will cry with, be strong with, laugh with, and will never forget.
There is zero doubt in my mind that I will read book two. This author has been added to my list of authors who I will buy their books without question.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I haven’t felt this “book hungover” in a long time.
There is something so visceral about the way A.G. Harris writes. I’ve read a lot of enemies-to-lovers stories, but this one felt different. I could actually feel the weight of the grief and conflicts.
The dialogue was so sharp and the chemistry was so thick I felt like I was intruding on a private moment. When Selene and Galen have the dancing scene I clung to every letter of banter. And then Selene and Titus’s moments I couldn’t get enough. It’s just all so raw, I don’t know how else to put it. It’s like she walked in their shoes personally and wrote the story.
What really got me, though, was the vulnerability hidden under the scars of war. It reminds us that soldiers are human (or in this case vampire, fae or mages lol) they think and feel. They battle the line of loyalty to their kingdom with morality.
Each character has a sprinkle of background that I want to unfold. They are broken, messy, and fiercely protective. Ember’s background gutted me (how she got her name).
I am officially obsessed with this series and I’m going to be thinking about these characters for a long, long time. My favorite read of the year, hands down.
This book gives me Rebecca Ross–meets–Rachel Gillig prose vibes. The writing is wielded like a dagger: the banter, the romance—everything is so sharp it could draw blood.
This is a well-written multi-POV fantasy that’s far more than just a romance. It explores family—often the messy, complicated kind—and I really enjoyed that depth. The author has clearly crafted interesting characters and layered relationships.
That said, I did struggle with wanting to fully love the MCs. I felt like I was starting to connect with them, only for something to shift or a POV change to pull me away again. I also found there wasn’t much room to breathe; at one point, I had to put the book down just to take a breather.
Overall, if you’re looking for something that feels foretold, prophetic, and fated—something that goes deeper than just words on a page—this might be for you.
Absolutely loved the prologue. I’d LOVE an entire book continuing on with those characters! I loved the start so much it did take me a minute to then settle with the actual mmc/fmc. I did eventually fall for them and all the side characters too. Everyone was written beautifully a with lots of personality and individuality. In my opinion the writing started really strong, very descriptive and almost poetic and then became a little “he said, she said” in the second half and that is the only reason I’ve settled on 4 stars instead of 5 because plot wise this was 5 stars all day. I honestly cannot believe what I’ve just read in the last 10%. WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? WHYYYYY?? I love it. That is exactly what I want in a romantasy and not enough authors do it! Very excited to see where the next book takes us.
I want to thank the author for sending e-arc this book comes out Jan 20!!
Review: I honestly didn’t know what to think about this book at first. It took me a moment to get into the story, and for a good stretch I wasn’t sure it was really for me. But somewhere along the way, that changed—and I ended up genuinely invested in the characters and the world.
Then something happened near the end that completely broke me. I was so upset I had to step away from the book for a moment because what happened felt unbelievably cruel. Even though the story had been hinting that this outcome was possible, I kept hoping it wouldn’t actually happen—that somehow things would turn out differently. But it didn’t . And it hurt.
And I think that emotional impact is exactly why this story worked so well. It left me shaken, but also deeply curious about what comes next.
👏🏻 👏🏻 my favourite books are usually the unexpected ones. I’ve read a few of AG Harris’ other books and went into this one thinking it would be the same - but I was wrong. AG Harris brings you into a fantasy world and does not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and have only slowly started getting into (and enjoying) romantasy books (my typical favourites are murder, crime, mystery and real) - but this one will be shelved as a fave. I am always amazed by AG Harris - the stories, the plot, the characters, the emotional roller coaster. THANK YOU once again for letting me be apart of your ARC team and providing me with this book! I cannot wait for the next one 🫶🏻
Thank you for letting me read this ACR! This story has a very rich world setting and the lore is amazing. I was drawn from the moment the prologue started. At times I did get confused at first because so much was happening at once, but it was easy to adjust to once you got into the flow. The characters were also amazing, and had rich personalities and stories. This is such a unique story and I truly enjoyed it.
Book 1 - The artwork that AG does, makes this world so real. This is a lot and draws out all of the emotions and the "bad guys" just wow. I am in awe!!! This is my first read of author AG Harris and I am not disappointed. The main characters - Titus and Selene are just fantastic. Titus's brother Tristen is a wonderful comic relief character for the story.
What will book 2 have in store? I am lost just trying to imagine.
I was pulled in to this story within the first few pages, and I could not put it down. The story itself was original, paranormal and utterly fantastic. The characters, some you love and some you don't. This is a Good story, that I Highly Recommend!!! I Loved It!! No Spoilers!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Overall this was a good read. The world building was done well. I enjoyed the characters and the overall plot. I struggled with the pacing and how long this was. I felt some things could be cut and it be just fine. If this sounds like your vibe definitely check it out.
I've felt my mind and heart - and amazed by - with this book. The worldbuilding, the characters, their backgrounds and the relationships are really interesting and captivating.
Gods, Fae, vampire and humans collide and battle, both physically and emotionally, in a fantasy tale of honour, fate, found family, and fated mates. Guided by ancient foretellings and inevitable destiny.
I think this is A G Harris’s best book yet, it’s easily up there with some of the most popular fantasy books.
I don’t know any other author who writes with as much depth and vivid description. The world building is immersive and the character development is exceptional.
This book made me feel every emotion imaginable, I was laughing out loud one minute and crying the next, I was fully enraptured by the authors incredible storytelling.
As someone who never annotates usually, I have so many annotations of quotes that I loved in this book!
“Brother, a knife cannot become a needle that mends you.”
Be warned that the ending is brutal, you will need tissues!! But you will also be joining me in desperately waiting for the next book as I cannot wait to read what happens next.
I think Kingdom of Silent Sorrows is easily going to be the best fantasy book released this year.
I received a BETA copy of this book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.y
4.5 stars I loved this! An emotional rollercoaster, but a truly intriguing one. I liked the detail and background we had with the prologue - that is what hooked me and I didn't want to put it down. The relationships, the politics, the scheming and twists - all captivating. The ending was unexpected! I like that it wasn't a typical ending, though my emotions were all over the place. Can't wait to see what this author does next!
