Hugely entertaining and beautifully written, this book tells one of the essential Australian stories - how the rabbit irrevocably changed our environment and influenced social, political and cultural life in this century.
An informative but often very dull read about the history of the Australian rabbit wars. The author, a rabbit-eradication consultant, seems torn between loving hunting for them and wanting them to be gone forever. He does offer some interesting insights into rabbit ecology and rabbit motivation that may help humans manage them better, but he also comments bleakly that nothing ever does as much good as the humans would like. He intends this as a sort of companion read to They All Ran Wild: The Animals And Plants That Plague Australia , which I would like to read at some point.
