Even a man who knows his duty can be selfish. I'm Michael MacTavish, first born to Cormac, Chieftain of the MacTavish Mafia. I will take over my father's role, overseeing the biggest crime family in Scotland and our multi-billion dollar empire.
I know my duty.
I also know what I want. What I crave. Sweet Sophie, our housekeeper's daughter. I've kept my distance. But when she's caught in the middle of a web of betrayal, the only way I can save her from being punished by my family is simple.
Marry her.
There's nothing more ironic than the realization that getting everything I ever dreamt of . . . is the worst possible thing that could happen to me.
When the man I knew as charming and kind, turns cold and cruel when he thinks I'm a traitor to his clan. That a hasty, forced marriage is nothing like my ridiculous, girlish dreams.
And the most difficult thing of all? The knowledge that I'm still hopelessly in love with him.
Forbidden Love Forced Proximity Age-gap Romance Grumpy x Sunshine Touch her and die vibes Power Imbalance Forced Marriage
Wicked Choices - A Dark Scottish Mafia Romance has a HEA and no cheating. If you like your men dark, complex, and morally gray, Michael is your next book boyfriend.
TROPES: -age gap -mafia -forced marriage -boss/employee (she's his maid) -grumpy/sunshine
Michael and Sophie are the last couple to come for this series. I had high hopes for them because I adore the boss/employee dynamic, but this just didn't live up to this author's other books. At least to me it didn't.
Due to a betrayal, Michael forces Sophie into a marriage with him solely to keep her alive. She's always had a crush on him, and he was "intrigued" by her - but of course, he dated other women over the years. He's even dating another woman until about 1/3 of the way into this book, and that woman tries to cause problems between the main characters. I truly, genuinely, really needed to know how great the OW was in bed. Blegh.
Anyways, the MMC and FMC gradually get closer and fall for each other after their marriage. Books by this author are usually high heat and high chemistry, but this book just didn't have that? I couldn't sense the chemistry between them sadly. The forbidden love vibe fell off at the beginning of the book also. I just didn't enjoy this one as much as others by this author.
SAFETY & SPOILERS: Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, experienced hero OM/OW: no OM, but there's OW drama. Cheating/sharing: no cheating, he breaks it off with OW before his marriage to FMC. Triggers: pregnancy HEA?: yes
5+ Michael and Sophie's story was one of the best I have read in a while. The Mactavish family is unapologetic, loud, brash and often rough around the edges, but so much fun. They are devoted to their women and have their own standards on what they are involved in and where they draw the line in the sand when it comes to criminal activity.
Michael is the new Chieftain and Sophie is the daughter of the cook. Michael decides to marry Sophie when her mother (the cook) is accused of giving a secret to Sophie's father, who was once a low level head of a crime family, Sophie's mom is banished from the Mactavish home after she tells them her story of running and hiding from Sophie's dad for ten years, and the constant threat her father is. She is sent to a cottage off the property as they determine whether she is still a threat.
Michael has always been attracted to Sophie and decides to marry her to "protect" her after her mom is banished to the cottage. The story is emotional at times, endearing and suspenseful as the Mactavish family try to find out who is trying to destroy their family and reputation through botched or lost shipments and attacks on their family. Both Sophie and her mother are still considered possible threats for most of the book, until the real enemy, who is right under their noses; is revealed. The ending is well worth the wait.
It's a great ride with an over the top Michael and Sophie trying to navigate their insta-marriage, the breaches that keep happening to the family and their growing respect and love for one another. The secondary characters are all either the crazy you love, or just great additions to this book, each with a unique personality that has you either laughing or crying.
Michael and Sophie have a very aggressive sex life because Michael is very demanding in bed, with a virgin Sophie navigating new territory for herself with Michael. She has always loved Michael,so she becomes his "good girl" in bed. Eventually secrets are exposed between Sophie and Michael and they not only get their happy ending, but find true happiness in a rough and tumble Mactavish family.
Loved the entire storyline! I absolutely did not see that twisted ending. Sophie and Michael were written in the stars and completely inevitable 😍 If you love mafia romance with humor and large found family aspects, Arianna Frasers MacTavish series is everything you could want!!!
“Wicked Choices” is the seventh and final book in “The MacTavish Mafia Heirs Series.” This book is set in the brutal world of organised crime and these Scotsmen are not messing around - you will love the MacTavish’s! As such, there is violence, gun battles, explosions, kidnapping, a lot of profanity, BDSM with a safe word, and explicit sex between married, consenting partners. Get comfortable ladies and enjoy, I know I did! You will be left wanting a Michael in your life!
Michael MacTavish is thirty four and future Chieftain of the MacTavish Mafia. His parents are the current Chieftan, Cormac and Mala. His siblings are Catriona, who is married to Lucas (from “Rekindled”), Duncan, Jack and his sister Maisie, who is best friends with Sophie. Her mom has been the Housekeeper for the family for ten years. Michael has been attracted to Sophie for many years, but has never actioned those feelings. “Sweet, wee Sophie, who’s dressed like a siren tonight in a short, shiny dress that’s showing off her long legs.”
This is the same night that Sophie’s life changes forever….”The front door slams open and we both shriek. My pen skids across the paper, hard enough to tear. The Chieftain is standing there, along with Michael, so tall that their heads nearly brush the top of the doorway, blocking the light and casting us into shadow.” Ten years of loyalty mean nothing….”When his gaze turns to me, though, I can’t conceal a shudder. His eyes are alight like the fires of hell, the green color blackened and crisped into something dark and cruel.”
Punishment for such a betrayal is banishment - their fate is sealed. Except Michael has an alternate plan. “I’m going to marry your daughter.” From the moment he stepped in the cottage and saw her, her silver gaze finding his, desperate and teary-eyed, he knew that he couldn’t let her be punished. “I’m twelve years older than her and I’m no fecking cradle robber. But it’s been impossible to ignore that Sophie’s all grown up. I can still remember her beautiful, flushed face when I gave her the bouquet of flowers at her graduation. My usual skill of standing back and analyzing every situation before acting has deserted me here.” Sophie must navigate being both a bride and a prisoner to a man that see’s and thinks of her as a traitor.
The story is very fast paced and full of twists and turns! You have danger, betrayal, love, tears, death, power, action and passion. The heat between Michael and Sophie is off the page. There is never a dull moment! Is Michael is a bit more into MacTavish tradition than he’s willing to admit? Will he open up his heart and realise that he is capable of more? Will Sophie be the one that can bring out his softer side, make him love someone with his whole heart…. This book is everything you expect from a dark Scottish mafia romance!
The story is full of passion, intrigue, betrayal, vengeance, power, control, twists and turns around every corner. There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! The book goes through moments of the thoughts or possibilities that it could happen to, to extreme violence to the most beautiful tender moments! I’m very happily hooked! I did not want it to end! From page to page, chapter to chapter, I could not put it down - you will metaphorically be on the edge of your chair! Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

I've had the release for this book on my calendar, looking forward to reading it, and I didn't get the "I'm swooning! MacTavi are the best!" feeling I can almost guarantee after reading a MacTavish book. I liked Sophie as a character, I felt like we got to understand her way better than we did Michael. Michael was never opened up as a character to us or to Sophie. *There may be some small spoilers from this point on. The way Sophie would talk with Jordan? Why was that never broached between her and Michael? I don't feel like we got to see them getting to know one another. I just didn't get the Chemistry or that famously posessive MacTavish love. I mean, the Michael - Sophie lore has been building for about three books now. Where were the explosions? Where was his fire and passion? The "steam" in this book is massively glossed over, unlike in the other books, and what steam there was was alright, but it wasn't in the same league as the "Wallace wearing a fire mit" steam. There was nothing wrong with the book, but I know if that were the first MacTavish book I'd ever picked up, I don't know if I'd have read another. That would be such a shame. I think I just felt like the book was a watered down MacTavish book. The twist and the end was a huge twist, but I don't know if that's in a good way. The person/ persons (no spoilers from me on this one!) responsible... It just didn't make sense. I mean, it literally did not make sense. The reason for why was bullcrap. It wasn't a reason. The character/ characters just suddenly became a totally different characters than they'd always been. It didn't make sense, there wasn't any build up to it being them. I don't get it and it made the book feel a little disappointing. **The lack of reference to the gender and number of culprits is intentional. Just because I felt let down doesn't mean I'll ruin it for anyone else.** Between that, the lack of character building for Michael and the lack of relationship building & chemistry between Sophie and Michael made the book all around disappointing for me. I hate saying that. I think Arianna Fraser is a great author. I really enjoy most of her books, and I have read many of them. I don't like leaving a review saying I didn't love it. I'll still read the next one, though, and I hope it has the same intensity, passion, world building, character & relationship building and MacTavish craziness as her earlier books.
He married her to protect his clan. He never expected to fall in love.
Michael knows his duty. As heir to Scotland’s most powerful crime family, he’s trained to lead, protect, and punish. But when the housekeeper’s daughter gets caught in a deadly situation, his only move is to claim her as his wife to keep her safe. He’s cold, ruthless, and used to control. What he doesn’t expect is Sophie. Or how much she’ll change everything.
Sophie grew up inside the estate but never truly belonged to its world. When her mother’s past drags her into dangerous territory, her quiet dreams of law school shatter overnight. She ends up married to the one man she’s never stopped watching, and now he treats her like a threat. But she’s done being overlooked. She’s stronger than anyone realizes.
As Michael and Sophie navigate secrets, shifting power, and rising threats, their forced marriage starts to crack open something real. Control turns into connection. Distance becomes trust. And when danger gets too close, Michael will do whatever it takes to protect what’s his.
Sophie grows into a woman who stands her ground in a world built to crush her. Michael lets down the armor he's worn his entire life and learns how to fight for love instead of just legacy. What begins as a cold arrangement slowly becomes a partnership built on trust, desire, and survival.
A dark, steamy, age gap, grumpy sunshine, forbidden, forced marriage Scottish mafia romance with tension, possession, and emotional fire. It’s about trust, survival, redemption, power, identity, and choosing love when every rule says not to. Two people shaped by duty and danger, rewriting what it means to belong.
The Elevator Pitch: An heir to a powerful Scottish crime family marries the housekeeper’s daughter to protect her from a deadly betrayal. What starts as a cold, calculated arrangement ignites into a tense, emotional, and deeply passionate love. With secrets, danger, and desire at every turn, it unravels into a collision of power, trust, and emotion that refuses to play by the rules.
You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Micheal sexy as all get out MacTavish isn’t a man you want to tangle with dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day will do what needed to be done to protect those he loves, trained to protect, lead, oh yeah punish and so when their housekeepers daughters lands herself into a situation that requires his help by way of marriage in the name of safety. Sophie the daughter of a housekeeper grew up in the estate saw a lot, heard a lot but knew better then to actually remember hearing or seeing anything because she never belonged to that world until her mother’s past drags her into a dangerous situation that blows her dreams of attending law school out of water especially when she has to marry she has watched from afar, and she is being treated as a threat each day for something she didn’t do. But she is tired of being treated like a weakling when she is stronger than most realize or give her credit for but what neither of them realize is what fate saw all along they are stronger together than apart in being married they get to know one another a tentative connection forms where he realizes she is more than an obligation and she is much stronger than she realizes standing her ground but will they stand as one, survive as one, fight as one, will he tell her how he really feels, will she tell him how she feels, will they become partners together, and find happiness somewhere along the way?
It all started, with Cormac MacTavish (Mala)in Perious. Ares Academy third book series. Then we moved on to the MacTavish Stolen Brides series, where we met with Cameron(Morana), Dougal(Isla), Lachlan 🥰(Aria) and their sister Sorcha(Alistair). Arianna Fraser gave us the MacTavish Heirs series. Ethan(Sloan), Kai(Luna), Logan(Arabella), Mason(Afton), Catriona(Lucas), Wallace(Scarlett).
And here we are…
Micheal MacTavish is the next inline to succeed to his father Cormac as the Chieftain. But everyone knows, he is secretly in love with Sophie Barnes. His sister’s best friend. And the daughter of Martha, the cook who was hired years ago because everyone knows Mala can’t cook… but when the MacTavish gets attacked from every sides in theirs business, Micheal is in charge to find who or which enemies wants them destroyed. Sophie is in love since she laid eyes on him. She dreams of a life with him but she’s the help and the help don’t get to marry the future chieftain… Forbidden love or it’s more complex than that?
Seven and last books in the MacTavish heirs. And I’m in mourning 🥺 What a ride it was and this story is one of the best in the series. Everyone knew about Micheal infatuation with Sophie, you had to blind to not see it!!! But trust will be tested and even if 12 years separated them, love will always win. Perfect ending for this series and knowing the Morozov heirs are next, I can’t wait to see what will happen next!!! Thank you Arianna for these amazing MacTavish men and like i always say:
I have read every book in this series and i love them all and this is no exception. I read it in an afternoon as I just couldn't put it down.
The MacTavishes are loud, a little crazy and will do anything to protect women but especially the women they fall for.
Michael & Sophie's story is beautiful, from a childhood crush to marriage. Sophie has loved Michael since their first encounter when she was a young teenager. He eventually takes notice as she graduates but doesn't act on anything until she is in danger of banishment.
I love the twists and turns in their story, I love that Sophie is loyal to her mum and isn't scared to stand up to Michael. I like the vulnerable side to Michael when he opens up about his injury.
Please start at the 1st book and read in order although you don't really have to you would be missing out on so many amazing stories.
I love this author and I'm sure if you gove this series a chance you will too.

Arianna did it again! Another smasher of a storyline from the McTavish family. Michael and Sophie are just a delicious couple! Michael will make a great chieftain! His, at first, being in denial with his feelings for Sophie was snort worthy, glad he figured it out. Tough guy with a sift spot. Sophie is just so sweet, but she has that edge in her that needs to shine, and she slowly did! Their chemistry was as expected in their situation, so was lovely to see it grow. Their 🌶️ was on the rougher side, i still have problems figuring out ‘the finger’, but that must have hurt🫣 i would not be appreciative🤣 And that plot twist??!! Never saw that one coming, boooooo to that character tsktsk.
The MacTavish’s never disappoint with their unique brand of chaos. Michael is the future chieftain of this motley crew and I loved finally getting to see his POV around the family. The chaos and tension is pushed to a whole new level when a close, practically family member of the estate crosses a line to protect her daughter. Now Sophie must marry Michael to save herself and her mom. Although probably the least craziest wedding of the bunch, it was still a wild ride. Sophie has been in love with Michael since she was a teen so this is a weird dream come true. Michael has also noticed Sophie as she has returned to the estate during her college holidays and now as an intern with the families legal team. This was a great wrap up to the second gen MacTavi, will there be a third!?!.

I have read every book in the series and this did not disappoint as usual. Love the family dynamic and everyone stepping up when in need. The love between these two is off the charts as with all of the couples. The mystery and the twist at the end I didn’t see that coming. I had smiles, eye buggin and fist pumping throughout the book. AND of course my favorite person Lachland makes an appearance he is by far my favorite. 🥰. I read the Stolen Bride series but i am circling back to read all of the related series. Love Arianna’s writing!! I am married to a Scotsman so I have my own Kilt daddy.
This is the final book in my series and it doesn’t disappoint. This is Michael’s story. He and Sophie have had feelings for each other since they first met but she was the daughter of the cook. Her mother betrayed the family and he married her to save her. The plot was very good, there’s attempted kidnappings, murder and betrayal, there’s a twist that you don’t see coming. This was a page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed the series from the parents to their children. Great epilogue.
Another FANTASTIC installment of those irascible MacTavishes! There’s no real betrayal/grovel in this one. The angst primarily comes from outside the relationship but it does impact them significantly. Sophie is so sweet and her chemistry with Michael is scorching! Spicy scenes are frequent but not too much, so it was the perfect blend of mystery, tension, action, and spice. Mild OW drama, but she gets her comeuppance pretty quickly. LOVE this book!.

I have been patiently waiting for this book and it did not disappoint. I was surprised to see the 12 year age gap but I could live with that. I was not expecting the leg trauma and can’t believe it is a close held secret. Chemistry was off the charts and I really enjoyed the MFC. I was disappointed that there was not an extended epilogue regarding the series as a whole since this was the last book.
I loved it, I might have teared up when Sophie was hurt from the whole betrayal. I could feel it...And then as the Michael's walls were coming down and his passion towards Sophie was growing. Its something I love about Ariannas books..You get hooked right away. Looking forward to reading the next book.
I always enjoyed the MacTavishes, I read them in order from the very beginning from Cormac Sr to the McTavish Heirs. Ariana is one of a kind. I love this booked about Michael the heir of the McTavish and Sophie, the action like your watching mission impossible and oh the sexy scene is so hot that even it’s winter here in Canada I had my fan on 🤭can’t get enough of it. Read it in a day. Kudos to Ariana 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It’s NYE and I’m filled to the brim with cheese and crackers but I still ATE THIS UP.
I’ve loved every one of the MacTavish men and Michael was no different. The chemistry, the tension, the yearning and a plot twist that shocked my little cotton socks off. If Arianna Fraser isn’t one of your favourite authors yet, you need to update your 2026 resolutions because I guarantee that her writing will only bring you joy.
If you haven’t read the previous 6, where have you been. Book number 7 does not disappoint. Outstanding storyline, plenty to keep you on your toes. Loads of the Mc Tavi humour. Brilliant as usual. I hope there are many more family members with a story.

I did not read the first generation of this series but started with the MacTavish Heirs. Holy smoke! These men and their strong women are intoxicating! Since I read practically the entire seven books in a week, I’m sure my husband is ready to me to take a break and get something accomplished here at the farm! Highly recommend!!!
Arianna Fraser you have outdone yourself with Wicked Choices. If I hadn’t had to put the frost blankets on my vegetables and tropical plants due to freezing temperatures in SW Florida, I would have finished reading it yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and glad that Michael and Sophie have overcome the obstacles to their love story So what’s next?
Dirty Scots are my new favourite. Michael is broody, sexy and dangerous. Sophie is the perfect foil for his darkness. A bit of torture, danger, mystery and some light spanking make a super fun read!
Holy $h!+ I'm soo ib love with this series and what a finish. this spicy and I mean spicy age gap Scottish mafia omg no words just this series 👀🥰🥵🥵🥵 Sophie and micheal story the future chieftain and the possible traitor...???
I never saw the villain coming...Once again Ms. FRASER leaves us wanting more Wicked Choices is a must read if you love the Mac Tavi clan this book will not disappoint you
I loved the whole series (except the one before this, rubbed me wrong) but Michael and Sophie are my absolute favorite! I felt all the love in this one and the story was great! Don't read ANY spoilers!
Michael and Sophie have known each other for years and have danced around their feelings for each other. When an act of betrayal forces choices and actions, will the truth and love let them find true happiness!!
Wow, loved this series, the mactavishes are the best. Loved Michael and Sofia book beautiful and still all the fire and angst and all the Scottish sexy brogue. 5 stars ⭐️ highly recommend
