On a fateful evening, Jolade Adeowo wakes up in a world she doesn’t recognise. One where she’s convinced her fiancé is still alive. Except he died three years ago. And the man at her bedside, calling her ‘love,’ is a stranger.

Three years after Diego’s sudden death, Jolade has finally begun to heal, until an accident erases everything she’s built, including the love she found again. Benjamin Brown, the man who helped her rediscover joy, is now someone she no longer remembers. Yet she can’t shake the feeling that her heart knows him, even if her mind doesn’t. Jolade is grieving a man she already lost while feeling inexplicably drawn to a stranger who swears he loves her. As Ben gently tries to reconnect with her, Jolade is torn between the past and an unfamiliar present. She must decide whether moving forward means betraying the love she lost or embracing the one she has forgotten.

As for Ben, he finds himself in the most bizarre love triangle imaginable, except his competition is a ghost. And If he cannot help Jolade remember him, he will lose the only woman he has ever dared to love.

Thank you to the publisher for providing this book for review purposes via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I was attracted to this book because the plot reminded of a film I watched, where the wife had been in an accident and lost her memory and her family because they didn’t like her husband, used that as an opportunity to split them up. She never got her memory back but they did get back together. I really enjoyed this book, I can’t imagine what it would be like to wake up after an accident and discover you’ve lost years of your life, I really felt for Jola as she didn’t remember that her fiancé Diego had died and she didn’t remember the man she loves Ben. I loved Jola’s family, she has a huge family and friendship group but I felt it through the pages how much they love her. I loved her protective older brothers and her found family and how determined they were to help her try and remember. Ben was so sweet and so patient with Jola despite how hard it must have been that she didn’t remember him, even though it felt like he was competing with a ghost at times.

I felt moved to tears at points as the story was so touching, this was more than a book about a women regaining her memory after an accident, it was a book about family, friendships and a second chance at love. I’m so glad I paused reading the book I was meant to start and read this instead as I’ve come away with a warm glowy feeling inside.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for granting my request to read this book and provide my honest opinion.

Some books just crash into you with the certainty that they will imprint their storyline into your soul—books you will continually think about… this right here is that book!!!!!

At 30% in, I knew this was going to be a five-star read. I was that certain, and it didn’t disappoint. One of the things I loved was the writing—the way the words were crafted, the fluidity in which they move and settle deep into my bones. The way this book was written sounded like a lyric to a song (I know, I know 😅).

Another thing I loved was how the author perfectly captured grief in its purest form. Grief doesn’t go away overnight; some days you’re good, and some days you’re not. This book shows that everyone is allowed to grieve in their own way. It shows that you don’t just “get over” grief. It also perfectly captured love—particularly love after loss. Love doesn’t cancel out love, and this book emphasizes that point!!! It isn’t a betrayal to the one you lost.

The sense of community in this book!!! Friends, family, solid support systems!!!!

And more importantly, can we give it up for Ben’s proposal!!!! I must admit I got a little teary-eyed (in public). I had to pause and gather myself before continuing reading.

Overall, this was a book I didn’t want to end. I wanted to stay with Ben’s and Jola’s love story for a while, to really soak myself in their reality!!!! This book was amazing, if I do say so myself!!!

Thank you once again for the e-ARC!

I have mixed feelings about this books, however overall I did enjoy it.

Jola gets into a car accident, and once she gets into the hospital, her and her family realize her head injury resulted from some memory loss. Specifically the last three years of her life. Not only does she not remember some people who she met in those years, she also doesn't remember losing her fiancé Diego. Jola has a lot of family and friends for support, yet navigating her memory loss is something only she can deal with.

Ben is someone who Jola met in those three years, and although she is friendly with him, and she sees how her friends and family have embraced him, she doesn't remember falling in love with him. Ben is a nice guy, who care about Jola very much, and he is there for her each and every day.

I felt like the energy or flow of the book was off at times. I was bored reading some sections, and some sections made me hold my breath. There are a couple scenes that are just gut wrenching, and depict life in such powerful ways.

There are a lot of characters in this book to keep track of, and it wasn't until after I read this book that I saw there is a previous book that introduces these characters.

This book is definitely about grief, family, friends and love.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to red this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book was heartbreaking while also showing the beauty of living in the moment and living life to the fullest every day. It handles a lot of deep emotional topics that change people’s lives every single day. I enjoyed the found family aspects of it and the fluid connections built through the then and now timelines.

I can see how people will become deeply connected to this storyline and the characters within!

Unfortunately, I didn’t fully like the very modern twist to this book. The overall storyline follows a very real and raw trauma that will keep this book pigeonholed into an era. Personally, for me when I am reading I like to avoid ‘real life’ references that connect to society today (just a preference, I never get attached to those stories). As well as, I thought the amount of characters and personal arcs we were following got a little bit jumbled and confusing at times.

Overall, I do see the vision that the author was trying to go for with this noel and so many people will love it even if it wasn’t *fully* for me 🫶🏻

I picked up this book hoping to read about my favorites, StefAde (if you know, you know) but honestly, Ben completely stole the show for me. I remember saying I didn’t want another story drenched in trauma, yet somehow, this one pulled me in and reminded me so much of One Tree Hill, especially when Jola struggled with her memories.

What I loved most was the sense of community, the way Jola was surrounded by people who genuinely loved and supported her. Ben being in her corner was everything, and watching him face and heal from his own trauma added real depth to the story.

And those final chapters? Whew. The heat, the growth, the emotional payoff—it all came together beautifully. Such a well-written, heartfelt, and satisfying read. Truly an amazing book.

Thank you to Netgalley for my early copy.

Unfortunately I’m not the right target audience for this book. It is written well and there are sections of beautiful, emotion-laden writing that tugs on your heart strings but I’m not a romance reader and I found I could never quite care. There’s a lot of characters introduced very early, with minimal explanation of who they are (which makes sense as this is a sequel - I wasn’t aware of this before reading). Due to this, it can be very confusing to remember who is who. I also found the bombardment of sex scenes at the end off putting: I just felt like the book could have ended a chapter or two earlier.

This was a wild ride. Jola experiences a traumatic event you could never wish on anyone and pushes through with immense strength and depicts so much support and love around her. On one hand there are certain gut wrenching parts and scenes I loved and the intertwined playlist is sweet however I had trouble with the relationship with Ben she has and has to build back up. Definitely fairytale kinda stuff, so meant it was an easy read with a happy ending but I wouldn’t call it realistic.
Overall enjoyed this as a quick beach read.

I didn’t expect to like a love triangle involving a dead fiancé, but damn, the author pulled it off brilliantly. From the first chapter, I knew I was in for something special. The blend of mystery, romance, and emotional depth had me reading late into the night. Jolade’s lost memories create such compelling conflict, and the way the love was explored in terms of what it means and what it survives is breathtaking. I fell in love with both Jolade and Ben, and their journey felt not just romantic but profoundly meaningful.

I don’t normally cry while reading, but this story broke me early and kept me emotionally invested the whole time. Jolade’s grief is portrayed with such compassion, and the dynamic between her past and present love is deeply compelling. The love triangle twist? Surprisingly perfect. This is one beautifully crafted story.

This book balances sadness and hope so expertly. Jolade’s journey feels genuine, and the way the author explores the idea of whether the heart can remember what the mind forgets is incredibly moving. Ben is written with so much love and vulnerability, it’s impossible not to root for him. I loved every page.

The twist of waking up believing your dead fiancé is still alive had me hooked immediately. The writing is engaging, and the characters feel real and complicated in the best way. This is a clever, emotional and beautifully executed story.

I feel awful rating this book because I hate to leave reviews that are not great.

But this book unfortunatley just wasn't for me. It isn't that it was bad I just couldn't get into it, the style of writing was different from what I am used to I think and I unfortunatley did have to dnf this book.

Honestly, i thought this book had some element of supernatural because how does a love triangle involves a ghost? what i didn't expect is to adore the book so much and sometimes even find myself rooting for Diego to resurrect (if wishes were horses, yeah yeah). Since reading her debut, i have been looking forward to Jola's story and let me say, i am not disappointed that G.T. DIPE is able to pull this off brilliantly. the tension can cut wire, the pacing is great for me, and don't even get me started on the emotions this book pulled from me. Jola's heartbreak is delicately portrayed, and Ben's devotion is both swoon-worthy and devastating. Brb, i'm going to re-read.

This book grabbed me from the first page and never let go. Jola’s emotional journey is so raw and human that I felt every ounce of her confusion, grief, and longing. The love triangle between her, a memory, and a man who refuses to give up on her is unlike anything I’ve ever read. The author balances heartbreak and hope with absolute mastery. I cried, I sighed, and I held my breath. A stunning, unforgettable read.

This story is pure magic. The writing is gorgeous, the characters are very real, and the emotional stakes are sky-high. Jolade’s struggle between her past and present feels so authentic, and the way Ben fights for her absolutely melted me. It’s one of those books that stays with you long after you close it. Five stars aren’t even enough.

What a brilliant premise! I was hooked by the idea of the FMC waking up in a life she can’t remember and loving a man who no longer exists. The emotional tension is chef’s kiss. Ben is the kind of hero who makes you want to reach into the pages and hug him. It’s rare to find a romance that handles grief, memory, and healing with this much nuance. Highly, highly recommended.
