Fairly inconsistent in terms of quality, but generally on the glossier side for many of the topics covered. This was assigned as part of a course on applied cryptography and network security, with the cryptography texts used in the course being much weightier and more informative than this book. Might be useful as an exam prep guide, but not so much as a deep subject matter reference.

I find the book a good source to learn security and perhaps it helps to prepare for the certification
